Came here for a girl's dinner and had a wonderful time! We did the tasting menu, where we were served multiple different things to try. The pacing of each dish was phenomenal, where I felt like my friend and I were able to try and savor each meal. It's elevated Asian food, so it's delicious while also getting to enjoy the cultural experience of it all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a casual dining place, so it has a nice relaxed feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in a pretty active location so parking can be a bit tricky. Give them a try! I had ordered from CHIKO through uber eats before, but this was my first time dining in and I had a great time.

4.5 Great spot! Ordered the orange-ish chicken, smashed salmon, and potstickers. All were delish! Smashed salmon was different than I expected, but super good. Portions were pretty big! Service was quick and servers were very nice and attentive! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good chill vibes, great music!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is DEFINITELY worth the hype. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yes, it's a little pricey for the vibe inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the food is more than worth the price tag. Each and every dish had me saying "WOW!"after tasting it. The wings were crissssspy! The noodles were spicy and filled with very healthy portions of meat. The dumplings were bursting with savory and fresh flavor. The green beans were potentially the best vegetable dish I've ever had. I could eat 12 orders of the green beans alone. I will absolutely re-order those upon every visit. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They gave solid recommendations and made us feel comfortable about one of the diner's food allergies.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband booked their tasting menu with wine pairing which is why I was surprised when I walked in and saw what looks to be a fast casual spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Uniquely, they have a bar next to their kitchen where we got to sit and watch, as our waiter said, a "dinner and a show".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was fantastic - attentive and explained every dish and wine pairing. He clearly has a passion for their food. We got to try most of their most popular dishes, starting with some "snacks" like their kimchi, sichuan cucumbers and daikon. We got a sampling of their best appetizers and entrees, ending with a great coconut custard. The standouts for my husband and I was the avocado salad, crispy chicken spring roll, garlic shrimp dumpling and double fried chicken. They do an amazing job with textures and seasoning. As our waiter explained, their tasting menu is a marathon not a sprint so to let him know if we wanted anything to go. We left with a good amount of food.

Really great food and a great overall experience at Chiko. I definitely recommend checking out the kitchen counter experience - it's well worth it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chiko is a cozy space with a few tables up front and a counter that gives you a great view of the kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped by for dinner and did the kitchen counter experience, which is a muli-course tasting menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great way to sample a variety of dishes while watching the chefs work just a few feet away in the open kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were lucky this evening - it was just me and my friend at the countertop, so we basically had a private experience to ourselves with all the attention and great service! The stand out item for me were the pork & kimchi potstickers. I absolutely loved them and will definitely be coming back for more. I also loved the confit duck fried rice, orange-ish chicken and garlic shrimp dumplings. All were tasty and the overall meal was super filling - we ended up taking some food home because we were so full. Also kudos to the chef, who was amazing and provided impeccable service. He personally introduce each dish with great detail and made sure we had a great overall experience. Overall Chiko provided great food and a great kitchen counter experience. I will definitely be returning - especially for those tasty pork & kimchi potstickers.

I stopped by because I was getting hangry, and wanted to split a meal with my boyfriend. I am so glad that I stopped by on a whim because I am dreaming about the day that I get to go back. I ordered the soy glazed brisket, and it was the perfect balance of salty and savory. The service was quick given. I literally only had 15 minutes to order and eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There isn't much seating in the store, just a warning![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to come back!

Came in to grab a quick bite to eat in the afternoon. We ordered a dish, we're seated, served, and out the door within 15 minutes. We ordered a soy glazed brisket (over rice). The egg was delicious and the sauce was amazing. I will definitely be back for a more formal meal.

While strolling through Eastern Market, we stumbled upon CHIKO by chance. A quick check of their reviews solidified this as our pick for dinner based on all the praise they've received. On a Sunday at 4:00P, the restaurant was empty when we arrived, but more customers arrived closer to 5:00P. The host immediately handed us a menu which consists of small plates, large plates and sides (like Korean banchan). We placed our order at the counter and then selected a table. I noticed that many customers opt for takeout, so even if you dine in during peak dinner time, you may have a good chance of grabbing one of their few tables. An employee brought over some bowls for us to share the entrées, but they were basically the size of rice bowls, so you could really only put one food item in them at a time. I would have much preferred actual plates. + CUMIN LAMB STIR FRY ($19): So good! Tender shredded lamb, mushrooms and caramelized shallots were mixed with the noodles that had a savory, slightly peppery flavor. There was also a vegetable reminiscent of bok choy, which added nice crunch. While ordering, an employee warned us about the heat, saying it's a 7/10 on the spice scale, so we asked for mild and it turned out barely spicy. If you can tolerate heat, I'd recommend leaving it as is. + ROSE DDUKBOKGI ($17): Now, this was spicy (in the most pleasant way)! Chewy rice cakes were fully covered in a rich Gochujang cream sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. It had a surprising hint of sweetness to it and a generous serving of mushrooms brought some earthy notes. + BLISTERED GREEN BEANS ($10): I love green beans and these had so much flavor from the toasted sesame oil, crispy garlic and smear of ssamjang on the side of the bowl. The beans were salty, crunchy and addicting. + NAPA CABBAGE KIMCHI ($4): I'm picky about kimchi, but this was great. It had an ideal spice level and wasn't too tart. The napa still had a perfect crunch, and I alternated bites of it with the lamb stir fry. + SPIKED PINEAPPLE LIME COOLER ($11): This drink was okay, but I wish the pineapple was more prominent... it was subtle compared to the lime. The drizzle of coconut cream on top gave it a light piña colada flavor. This amount of food was the right amount for three of us, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I wish we could have tried more off their menu!

This is a longtime standard that I finally made it to. Their online menu shows vegetarian options that weren't clear in-person, which was a bit odd because the two menus actually offered a lot of things that looked different. Eventually, I ended up with a wok-charred green bean dish that I take to be one of their signatures, as well as some cold noodles and a mushroom salad. Everything was covered in chili oil, not the worst thing from my perspective. The noodles had some included vegetables that packed a nice punch. The freshly cooked green beans with just a hint of numbing spices were indeed the highlight. I could have done with a clearer menu and maybe something that wasn't quite so oily for contrast, but this place arose in an era where DC didn't have much in the way of fresh or original Asian cuisine, and it still stands out as having something to offer.

    New seasonal corn dish

We've eaten at Chico at least seven times. It's an outstanding fusion restaurant. We love to go with a least four people so we can try lots of dishes! The green beans and chilled peanut noodles are outstanding and a must order for us. Orange-ish chicken is really good not too sweet (and I'm not a huge orange chicken fan). We always order the full Monty. We typically get at least one dumpling/pot sticker--they are all good. My husband really likes the cumin lamb stir fry which I think is okay but not a must order for me. We tried two new seasonal corn dishes (August 2025) which were unremarkable.

I brought my out-of-town friend here who was craving Asian food on a Saturday night. Since it is mostly a takeout place, we were able to secure seats for 2 people without difficulty. Orders are placed directly at the cashier before seating. We ordered and shared the brussels sprouts and Lamb cumin stir fry. The brussels sprouts were unexpectedly delicious 5/5! I highly recommend this dish if you want a veggie dish. I expected the lamb cumin stir fry to be succulent based on a rec from an acquaintance and I was not disappointed! Don't be fooled by the white color of the noodles. It just was not mixed properly. So, all the noodles were on top while the lamb was at the bottom. The lamb was so tasty and tender that we almost ordered another plate! By the time we got to the lamb, we wanted more noodles but they were sadly all gone. Definitely order the lamb cumin stir fry!

This location only does take out. Ordering was easy online and pick up was quick. We ordered the spicy bulgogi stir fry and the soy glazed brisket. We enjoyed the bulgogi stir fry. The bulgogi (beef) was served on ttoek (rice cake). The rice cake was cooked through and was chewy and not hard. The brisket dish was served on rice and with a soy marinated egg. The brisket wasn't my favorite and this dish was served with a lot of pickled peppers--also not my favorite and it wasn't in the description of the dish. It was a unique dish, but not for me. Both dishes were packed in a cup like container, not really good for the brisket dish, it made the rice mushy. And they did put a lot of rice and peppers and not as much of the meat. Overall it did have pretty tasty foods and would try other things, though the prices are a little high for the portions ($19 each).

Well this place was a great surprise. I found it thanks to my yelp users. The staff were really good and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was cleaning and tables were empty till we got there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was good with the house music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Fried Rice and Double Fried Wings. Food was amazing and a lot. Wash down with a nice ginger ale. I would definitely recommend paying a visit.

We ordered garlic noodles with chicken and Thai fried rice with steak. The steak was super dry and tough, almost like jerky. The rice itself was good so I would say maybe cook the steak med verse well done and the noodles were flavorful. I ordered the chili noodles for my entree which I was disappointed to find out could only be made very spicy or no spice at all. I opted for no spice to be on the safe side. It tasted fine but the sauce was too rich and upset my stomach after a few bites. My friend ordered the bacon fried rice and said it was just ok. We got two non alcoholic lemonades for drinks. The upsetting part was that we split the bill and it was $75 each and then I added 20% which I always do. So it was $90 each for a very subpar experience. I didn't see the whole bill but now I'm concerned that they added 20% service charge and never mentioned that to us. I will never go back for the quality of the food and the shadiness of the staff. You need to let your guests know that you are adding a service charge. By the way, they don't answer their phones and you can't get a hold of them if you need to make a complaint. How convenient.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

There is also valet options available too. Outside of that, let's step into the inside.... I attended Live K on a Friday night for a friends birthday. She did not book an isolated room but the opened floor was just that - an opened floor, people walking past, mics being passed around the floor, the bar steps away, all of the things. It's fun. BUT, I'm not going to lie - I will NOT order food or drinks from this place. I was told from the birthday girl that there is a happy hour with food and drinks from I think 4-7p but I arrived later than that, and paid MORE than full price for drinks in my opinion...... .....4 shots.... & 1 Red Bull, $124....... So do with that information what you will. I could NOT give this place 5-stars if I'm including REASONABLE prices.

My review is more for my personal experience than the customer service…read more I attended a birthday party here and I had an amazing time with my friends so I can give them credit for not ruining that haha. The location itself is awful but that's the wharf for you. Parking is horrible and the garage is super expensive so the new location at the harbor may be better. We had a separate room and it came with two mics which was fun for us to duet or just share a song with a friend. The database is hard to navigate and a great deal of the songs don't come with lyrics so that was a bummer. Also they don't display the song when you're singing, sometimes it would be random figures on the screen so that was different. My friend ordered skewers, wings and fries and that was fairly solid so I don't have much input there. The bathroom was disgusting. Water leaking all over the floor and trash cans overflowing. I'd come back to the location if I could carpool but with the new location at the harbor that would be easier to navigate for sure.

They serve Korean Fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, fries, bao, chicken tenders, and some Korean dishes. I placed my order online and got 8 wings, some fries, and street corn. They have a few sauces to choose from for your wings including soy garlic, spicy, Korean BBQ, or yangnyeom. I got the yangnyeom sauce on my wings. The staff there was ok. They did their jobs, not overly friendly, but not mean either. My food was ready in about 20 minutes. Even though there was seating available, I took my food back home to eat. My food was really good. The wings were crispy, and the sauce was sweet and spicy, as I like it. The corn was also tasty and very cheesy. The cole slaw that came with the wings was ok. It was edible, but I have had better. The fries were decent, but it is really hard to mess up fries, even though I have seen it done. This joint has an easy process for placing food orders. The food is better than average, and I really liked it. They lost one star because the service was just mehhhh or not memorable.
