Food selection was adequate, but they offered very little for late-night diners ... like those coming from Comerica Park or Ford Field after games. The inside was decent, but nothing to say, damn I need to come back here. The short ribs were fatty, although cooked well, tender and very good, just a little skimpy on the portion. The cheddar risotto was very good. The rigatoni was simply a garlic bomb, not much to taste except the overwhelming pungent garlic taste. Another disappointment was the 3% technology fee - WTF? 80 bucks for two enters sans adult beverages and you need to add more to the bill - without mentioning this on the menu - definitely unbaked for. I was recommended to Presley's by a coworker, she raved about this restaurant and said they had a great brunch that they make homemade pop tarts and cinnamon rolls. My friend and I decided to give this place to try before the Tigers game and I would say it lived up to the hype. It sits on the corner of Park Street and Woodward, a very convenient walk before the Tigers baseball game. Plenty of parking in the surrounding area from structures lots to street parking. The restaurant is cute nicely with a modern feel for decore. For being a nice size restaurant, it was interesting because they're very limited bathrooms inside the restaurant; however, it's attached to a hotel in which there's more restrooms within the hotel lobby. But you can easily look past this but do note there are options. In the customer service was very efficient, on arrival we were seated promptly with the host, they had multiple host available for this Saturday morning. I can easily see if you came at primetime for breakfast. You would most likely have a wait. Our waitress had wonderful recommendations from drinks to breakfast option to pastries-- I wish I remembered her name, but I would say her favorites are my favorites too (HA!). I started with a breakfast spritz-- with that fig gin and elderflower, it was like having a french 75 for breakfast with a twist! I followed with the garden and goat omelette, this was cooked to perfection. We also had the two egg breakfast at the table. Both had nice presentations. The breakfast potatoes were good. They're the small potatoes versus the shredded- thankfully! The bread I am interested to know if they make this in house as it was really good and I meant to inquire-next time. I tried the chicken sausage on the side, that I could take it or leave it. They were sold out of the pop tarts by 10 o'clock in the morning. The cinnamon buns looked amazing. I checked out Presleys for a late Monday morning breakfast and there weren't a lot of folks there but it was a nice looking place on the first floor of a hotel. Presley's is a restaurant that's part of the Hotel David Whitney. I would never have known it was there if not for Yelp. Thank you Yelp. Valet parking is available as part of the hotel for $15. Once you walk in the hotel's entrance, don't be surprised if you stop and stare a bit. This is a beautiful, old school lobby. It took a moment for the servers to figure out which one of them was going to wait on us, but after that, it was smooth sailing. My wife's hot honey crispy chicken sandwich was served with a sriracha aïoli, which it only needs if you want extra heat, or if you're like me and you like dipping everything. The sandwich itself wasn't particularly spicy, but it didn't need to be. The sauce meant that it wasn't crispy, but it was so delicious that it hardly mattered. This is a good-sized sandwich, large enough that my wife couldn't finish it. Woo hoo... More for me! Both of us opted to pay the extra $1 to replace chips with crispy fries. Excellent decision. Most French dips that I've had have been something akin to an Arby's sandwich with watgravy. Don't get me wrong. I like Arby's, but I don't want to spend fine dining prices for Arby's. This is a cut above French dips you've likely had before. This is thickly cut steak with real beefy flavor. But, you will want to use this dip. It's gloriously clouded with herbs and chopped onion. And, I could have eaten the bread by itself, too. It's a hearty Dutch cheddar bread. It all came together beautifully. I wanted to savor her every bite, but my appetite got the better of me. I just spent two paragraphs talking about a sandwich. Now that's love. We seriously didn't know the price point here. For some reason, my Yelp isn't showing me dollar ratings. Really nice spot, tons of natural light coming in. Service was on point, the waitresses kept coming by to check if we needed anything, which I appreciate. We went early in the week so it wasn't busy at all. I got the steak and eggs, a 5oz steak with sunny side eggs, potatoes and toast. I asked them to make the potatoes crispier and they did exactly that. The steak was cooked to the right temp and the eggs had the right consistency for sunny side. No complaints. I came with two friends so we shared everything. The homemade poptarts we all agreed on, not great but not bad, just wouldn't order them again. The real star is the fluffy pancakes. Just the right amount of fluffy, and the whipped cream had us guessing what was in it. It's lemon, which is actually on the menu, and it's a good touch. The hanger steak was my 2nd favorite. The kimchi, fried rice and sunny side eggs sound all over the place but it all came together and tasted really good. One friend got the stuffed french toast. I'm not a french toast guy, it's usually a soggy mess, but the hazelnut cream on this one was something different that I actually liked. I also had the morning blend juice, apple, carrot and ginger. Nothing special but it was delicious. Heads up it's pricey, expect to spend over $100 between three people. Still, would definitely come again, we might even come back for the dinner menu. My go-to would be the pancakes to share since I'm a classic breakfast person, then add the 2 egg breakfast, eggs your style, with bacon, sausage and potatoes. Situated in the David Whitney hotel as one of its two bars and definitely it restaurant, Presley's Kitchen & Bar is a great bar to hit up before and after pretty much anything downtown. This is often where I stop walking back to the shuttle from the Lions games and I've never had a bad experience. Walking in from the Woodward side, you are immediately noticing the large modern bar in the center of the restaurant. Aesthetically, Leather seated booth and bar seats mimic the elegance the lobby of the hotel presents, but in a cleaner, leaner model. Being a more cocktail forward bar/restaurant the prices tend to run probably a little higher than typical for these similar items, but the quality and flavors that go into each item is noticeable. I will say, the time I was here for Happy Hour, it was one heck of a deal. Can get a double smashburger and beer for like $20. The food itself is good if not anything that might wow you. You are pretty much guaranteed a solid meal. Service here has always been friendly, but efficiency can be sporadic depending on how busy it is. I would suggest you get your food order ready by the time they ask for your drink order because it might be a while before they come back around. We grabbed seats at the bar and ordered a couple appetizers to share, which turned out to be the perfect move. The spinach, artichoke, and feta dip was served hot and came with warm tortilla chips. When we were down to the last bit of dip, the bartender even brought us a few extra chips so we could finish it off -- a small touch that didn't go unnoticed. Immediately the experience wasn't great the but the manager is amazing and redeemed the experience. Our server didn't bring one of our meals out, fries were cold and drinks were wrong. But the manager fixed all of this. We ordered Caesar salads with salmon,truffle fries, burrata, the purse with wine, and a rock and rye old fashioned. All of the food was amazing 10/10. I think my expectations were too high for this place. I've been twice now and the service is not it.. always slow and have an "I don't care" attitude. We were in downtown and heard good things about the establishment. Reservations at 6pm on a Friday were not a problem on short notice and when we arrived we were greeted warmly by the host staff. We started with bloody Mary's which were very good! For brunch I got a crab cake and a side of bacon. Visiting Detroit for the weekend! Researched a few spots to try on TikTok and Presley's was one option. Stopped in for lunch right after we landed. Hillary, our server was so pleasant and kind. It was pretty empty when we arrived but we did get there near opening time. The ambiance is ok - not too loud, simple decor. Overall I would rate the food about 6/10. We ordered both of the fresh pressed juices. They were served with lots of ice. Next time I would ask for no ice. The breakfast sandwich was messy to eat but my husband enjoyed it. The eggs were silky and the Benedict sauce was good, wishing it was a little more acidic to help break up the fattiness of the dish. The crab cakes were ok - I wish they were more crab. They have great coffee, and I had a very nice decaf latte in a lovely light green mug. I HIGHLY recommend their homemade pop tarts - they're awesome! Homemade super flaky buttery pie crust encasing wild berry filling, and the special flavor this season - pumpkin spice. Both were sweet and buttery and delicious. Topped with homemade buttercream frosting and sprinkles, what's not to love? They have a very nice menu with a little bit of everything for breakfast and lunch. Crab cake Benedict, steak and eggs, sandwiches, a lobster roll, a couple of salads, chicken tortilla soup - all sounds good. I had the steak and eggs, and although everything needed salt, the steak, eggs and potatoes were cooked perfectly and the chimichuri sauce was herby and garlicy. Really disappointing... The first time I went was for a Friday lunch and had amazing service and food. This time was for early Saturday dinner. It was packed; they had tons of staff yet it felt very disorganized. We had to ask 2 managers before we got a server ( after sitting for 15 minutes without being acknowledged). When we did get a server he was very nice. But I spent $17 on an old-fashioned. I didn't drink it because it tasted awful. I moved it to the side of the table to indicate I clearly didn't want it. And I ordered another drink. The server didn't even ask why I wasn't drinking a $17 drink. I don't believe in returning alcoholic beverages so I did not say anything. I just think server should ask when people order things barely touch them. The brussels sprout appetizer was very tasty. I was very disappointed with the lobster pasta. It was barely above room temperature and just had a real thick sauce that was not appealing. My daughter was not impressed with her salmon bowl. What seemed to be coming out of the kitchen over and over, because my seats were directly across from the kitchen, were burgers and chicken sandwiches. So I would stick with that. My sister and I took our mom to Presley's for their Mother's Day brunch, and it was definitely a lovely experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with some much-needed caffeine. My sister had a vanilla latte, I went with a vanilla caramel latte, and our mom kept it simple with a regular coffee. Before we even made it to the buffet, someone came by to take an instant photo of the three of us, and we were each given a rose--such a thoughtful touch that really made it feel special. There was a table full of fresh fruit, muffins, and pastries before the main buffet, which had all the brunch essentials: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast, waffles, creamy white mac & cheese, and more. The real stars were the prime rib, cooked perfectly and served with rich au jus, and the crispy breaded shrimp. The build-your-own parfait bar was a favorite--we piled on fresh berries, granola, and a delicious raspberry drizzle. And for dessert, there were mini cheesecakes and brownies to finish things off. The ambience was beautiful--bright, sunny, and open, with high ceilings and a light, airy feel. Our waitress was super friendly and even got us coffees to-go, which was a nice extra. They did offer endless mimosas as an add-on, but we opted out and stuck with our coffee. However, my sister did mention that for $75 per person, she would have liked to see at least one mimosa included, especially since no drinks were part of the brunch price. The cost felt reasonable with the prime rib and seafood, but without those upgrades, it might not have seemed as worth it.
