We really enjoyed our Sunday at Corktown Taphouse. The establishment is super clean & cozy. Plenty of seating for large groups and games. We stayed for the Pistons game. You check in at the front, get wristbands for drinks on tap. They charge per ounce. I have been to bars like this before, glad to see Detroit is finally on the map! I noticed each time I finished a glass, a server immediately swung by the table and bussed the glass/plate. How refreshing! The food was absolutely delish- with two kitchens pumping out the food. This place was recommended to me by a couple I ran into at Coopers Hawk. All I know is that I have found my beer and chill spot a year after returning home for Jax, FL. Located in the heart of Corktown this place has it all... a pool table, mini bowling, darts and yes ...BEER and more BEER along with wine and a full bar this place is the beez neez. Garden salad was tasty but they gave us extremely stale and hard croutons. They weren't able to pour me a pint and said I have to get a wristband and pour my own. I said no thanks. The AC was dripping condensation so look out for that. Our server Heather was nice. They told us to just sit anywhere and scan QR code at table or order from the cook at the window. So I was surprised when we received HEATHER as a server. The Smashburger is excellent and that's why they get four stars instead of three (I really wanted a beer and they couldn't make that happen). They should at least have the option for them to pour patrons a pint that don't want to have to go up and pour their own beer. read more

I stopped by Corktown Taphouse around 9 PM and was glad to see they were still open. One of the kitchens had already closed for the night but the bar and pizza spot were still serving. I ordered a 12 inch pepperoni pizza and it came out fresh and hot and really good. I also grabbed a mocktail and a couple of bottled waters from the bar. The drink was tasty and the bartender was super friendly and welcoming. My friend and I enjoyed our pizza while watching the football game and then lingered for a bit just sipping our water and finishing the game. Around 10:10 PM the same guy who greeted us at the door came over and abruptly told us they were closed and it was time to leave. That caught me off guard and felt a bit rude and definitely dampened the experience. If there is a hard cut off time that should be made clear when guests arrive or at least delivered with a little more courtesy. The food and drinks were solid and the bartender was great but that closing interaction left a bad impression. I probably will not be back which is a shame because everything else was on point. read more

The beer wall is great fun and a cool way to be able to try a few things without big volume! It's fairly self-serve but all of our questions were answered by friendly staff. It was a nice day so we sat outside - love an outdoor seating space. The food we tried was good, our only complaint was the lack of seasoning in the queso and guacamole. My daughter ordered ONLY a brownie sundae at 7:10pm today - no food to be cooked. 8:10pm still no brownie sundae. She inquired 3 times and was told they had a lot of orders and it's coming out. I go get car, park and she's still waiting. I double park and speak with the waitress who's tone is as if she's the customer still waiting fir a dessert after an hour. Anywho, she tells me also that they had a lot of orders and he's coming out with it. I asked her to check and if he nor she comes back with it i want a refund. I watched this rude waitress with the blond neck length hair go to the kitchen window and grab a blk plastic container and put the brownie on paper inside the container. Im not sure who placed the one scoop of ice cream on top of the brownie. She takes container to my daughter and we walk out. I realized it's only one scoop of ice cream so I take it back in, hand it to another waitress at desk and register and request a refund including refund of the tip. I also requested that she remind the rude waitress that two scoops come on the sundae. It's after 8:15pm by this time. Taphouse Mgmt, you should consider not allowing the cook of the food to also prepare the desserts. The blonde waitress implied that there were other tickets in front of the ticket and thats understandable. However, she did not say there are numerous dessert tickets in front of this one. If your cooks are cooking and preparing desserts then this is an issue and unacceptable for efficient customer service. It's very interesting that the order time is on the refund receipt but not the time the refund receipt is processed. read more

Got a chance to check out this recently opened spot in Corktown Detroit. This is a fun place for adults even though I saw some kids with their parents. I really feel like this place is more catered to adults but I am someone who only has adult children so you might want to listen to me lol! Anywho, me, my husband and another couple came for an evening out and this place did not disappoint! From first walking in and throughout our whole visit, execellent customer service!! I love the self serve beer and wine, I love the tap to pay! I loved the diversity! Now this place is not huge but it's a nice size but it can get somewhat crowded but not to where you want to leave. They had live music but prior they were playing a playlist that catered to everyone! They have good food and options, they have darts and this bowling game(I forgot what it's called) but it's with a small ball lol! They have various other games you can play at tables, they have TV's to watch sports. They have foos and so sorry I was so caught up in the moment I didn't get pics of my food. I love the concept of Corktown taphouse. You get a wristband that allows you to taste/drink as many of the self serve taps as you like. They have red and white wines, seltzers, seasonal beers, sour beers and domestics. There are 2 restaurants inside the tap house. Agave lime has Mexican food and 1834 kitchen has different types of wings, fries, salads,etc. One of my friends has been here before and suggested the wings. You place your order at the counter and they take your phone number. They text you when your order is ready. It took about 10 minutes for our food to be ready and I was underwhelmed. My friend said it was better the last time she came, but on this visit the chicken had 0 flavor. The loaded tots were good but could use more of the toppings. There are a ton of board games, darts and duck bowling available as well. I had a great time and will definitely be back. I'll probably try the Mexican food next time. read more

We like to pre game in corktown. Parking is cheaper here and some of the local bars have shuttles. Or an Uber is only about $10. It's a win for us! We have been wanting to check out this location since we first saw the construction going on. What a great addition to Corktown. You walk in and get a wristband. Everything is done via this wristband. You connect a credit card to it and you're good to go. We have been to other taphouse, but this one was very unique. They feature a variety of beers, but also wine and ciders. Additionally, they have a full bar. So if you aren't in the mood for beer or wine you can choose from a variety of cocktails. They have two kitchens. One is Mexican and one is American. Their menu seemed pretty good. We got a Smash burger and mozzarella sticks. But the most popular item appears to be this massive portion of nachos! They have an area for board games with a couch if you want to get away from the bustle. They also have three duckpik lanes and a really cool electronic dart board. There are plenty of seats and lots of TV's to watch a few games. You can reserve an area for a designated amount of time through their website. We discussed having a birthday gathering here. There were plenty of staff ensuring dishes were cleared and you are having a great experience. We really enjoyed our time here. We will definitely be back! read more

This place was fun! Got a little busy so a lot of people were milling around in front of the taps so you couldn't get to them to pour - so I definitely didn't drink as much as I would have. Please let the staff know to suggest that people should move from standing in front taps! I also think the Duckpin is a bit overpriced, but it was nice while it worked. The pins got caught FIVE times while we played. The cords holding the pins got tangled a lot. A few times they untangled on their own after a minute, but we did need to wait several minutes, more than once, to get them untangled. We lost SEVERAL minutes of bowling with no offer to add minutes, we even asked if we could be compensated because we had to wait forever for somebody to come help as the people at the front desk said they couldn't. If I ever came again, it would have to be a daytime slot so I could assure good service. I hope this place only gets better! read more

We wanted to try this place out since the concept was really interesting and it looked nice online. Unfortunately, the execution was lacking. First of all, they were charging a $10 "fight cover fee" which is fine I guess, but they seemed over capacity inside making the cover fee seem like a scam. There was nowhere to sit and barely anywhere to stand. But again, we went on a Saturday so busy is fine. Second, when wanting to leave after only an hour or so, we asked the desk how to check out and where to put our wrist bands. She told us to go to the express checkout by the door. The express checkout had you place the wrist band in a bin with "automatic gratuity" of 15%, 20%, or 25%. What am I tipping for? Don't get me wrong, I always tip but I served myself my drinks and had to find my own area to sit/stand. The only contact we had with employees was check in and checkout. The other wrinkle to this is that we asked the desk how to check out and they directed us to the auto gratuity bins instead of helping us check out, essentially forcing the tipped option. If we tried again, we would go during the week, but I'm not sure this place will stay on our list. read more

Gross. I order the mac and cheese. It was shell noodles with the wateriest cheese sauce I have ever encountered. I also tried the fish and chips. The fish was so fishy. It had clearly turned. Nice concept but way overpriced. They have you get a wristband to buy the beer or wine yourself at taps along the walls which is charged by the ounce. Even if you don't order food, they force you to tip when you turn in your wristband when you leave. They add it to the tab on your credit card that you created when you arrive. Super busy on the weekend that we decided to leave after one drink. With A LOT of children around it creates a chaotic space. Not a place to hang out with friends. Difficult to move around and we didn't even inquire how to sign up to play duckpin bowling or darts. Dirty glasses left all over the side tables. "Express checkout" bracelet bins are 15/18/20% automatic tip applied according to which bin you drop your bracelet in. I decided to go back in line to do a custom tip because what am I tipping for? No glasses were picked up. Didn't try the food. The space was occupied by people lining up. Lines for bracelets. Lines for food. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't be back. read more

Meh. Came here with our 3yo around 5:30pm in an extremely rainy/snowy Friday in January thinking we'd be able to eat, bowl, and she could play with some toys. When it first opened it was advertised as super kid friendly, so we were excited. Unfortunately, they got rid of the toy area and and the only games they had on offer were card games... on top of that we couldn't even try bowling because the entire place was booked up all night by a company event. They do have high chairs and the severs were very sweet. The food wasn't that good. My loaded quesadilla reminded me of Taco Bell (although you might love it if you like Taco Bell) and the cheese in the kids quesadilla wasn't even melted. The sauce on the mozzarella sticks was weirdly sweet, almost like sweet and sour sauce. To top it off, they were already out of ice cream for the fried Oreos. If you're looking for a chill spot for adults to drink and play some games this might be perfect. But I'd skip it if you're a parent hoping to bring young kids (there's nothing really here for them). Maybe kids over 10, just make sure you reserve the bowling ahead of time. read more
