We came here for an event. The place is located inside a shopping area in Plainview. We were placed in a private room in the back. The staff and event organizers were on point with the timing of the event. Service was on point with taking and serving the kids food first followed by the adults. The event had a set menu for adults and kids. For the kids order we got the hot dog, which came with chips, pickles, and apple slices. For the adults, my husband got the combo consisting of #39 half sandwich with fries and I got the #55 half sandwich with the breaded chicken with chicken soup. We also had ginger ale, diet coke and strawberry lemonade. My husband finished the entire dish. I just ate the chicken noodle soup which was generous and it hit the spot for me. I ate my hot sandwich en route home which was nice and comforting. Brownies were served at the end, which we took our portion home. Food quality was great, it can get pricey. We've been to the one in Bayside a bunch of times but haven't been in years. We were in the area and saw there was one in Plainview and decided to give it a shot. The four stars is for the drinks. I could see the bartender from where I was sitting and she looked very confused making my lemon drop. Maybe she's training which is fine but I think with her confusion she forgot the vodka. I'm pretty sure I was just drinking simple syrup and lemon juice. I was going to say something but I didn't. The paninis were delicious. I had #38 and my brother had #18. They were both very tasty. We also got their delicious French fries and three dips, roasted garlic, chipotle and avocado crema. The avocado was ok. The cucumber salad is also very good. We noticed the lunch special after we ordered, $16 for half a panini and fries, I would have done that if I saw it before ordering. I love that one of my favorite bar/restaurants (Press 195 in RVC) is now closer to home! The owners John and John are both gems (as are all the staff - shoutout to Jess, Max, Sean, all the hostesses, waiters and bartenders) that make this new location feel like Cheers. Everyone knows your name, recalls your favorite dishes (mine is the buffalo chicken panini with fries and all the sauces), makes excellent recommendations, and provides an overall wonderful experience. Something new that I really got a kick out of is their event nights. I went to a paint and sip galentines, which was really cool and different! I hear they have bingo and live music that other patrons have enjoyed. I've been to many events at the RVC location, but I can easily see how the Plainview Press could be a prime spot for showers and parties. Popped in here for a quick lunch with my daughter. Plenty of seating available when we came (around 2 p.m.) Service was friendly, but very sloooooooow. My kiddo got the kids hot dog that comes with chips and sliced green apple. Kids drinks aren't included, and I was not about to spend $2.75 on a juice box -expensive when the kids meal is already $12. I got the #26 lunch special - eggplant with basil, sauce, cheese - a bit parm style but with a flair. The lunch is 1/2 panini/sammy of your choice and 1/2 side. Can't go wrong with fries! Dipping sauce - jalapeño honey mustard which is what dreams are made of. But expensive - $1.50 for a small dipping sauce is the most I've ever been charged. I mean, it's delicious but that's a steep price. Food took quite awhile to come out but I did devour it as I was starving. The waiter commented when he came to get our plates, "wow you must have been hungry, you ate everything!" Cue my embarrassment...this was the first meal I'd had all day as summer mom equates to being personal chauffeur to all the activities and nary a moment for myself, so yes I was hungry but was this really an enormous amount of food? I also shared with my daughter some of the fries...shrug. Anyways, super happy there is a Press close by as I used to schlep out to Bay Side for the honor of their delish fries and paninis. We were passing by looking for a lunch spot and decided to patron this location in Plainview after having great experiences at the Bayside and Rockville Centre locations. About a dozen beers on draft with a focus on local, craft beers. There are offerings from Sand City, Garvies Point, DUBCO, as well as some other breweries too. I had an IPA from Sand City which was fresh and juicy. Food wise, we opted for the lunch combo which included a half sandwich plus a small soup, salad, or fries priced at $16. I had the roasted veggies panini and opted for the small salad. Panini bread was very crunchy. Lots of savoriness coming through from the cheese, sauce, and grilled veggies. Side salad was plated on a flat plate next to the sandwich, but they easily accommodated us when we requested small bowls. I believe the menu at this location was smaller than the others. I don't know if that's a change across the board at all locations or just for this location. There were three large TVs above the bar. Bar seats had the best view with a fair view from most seats around the restaurant. I believe there was only one single occupancy restroom which was spacious and handicap accessible. read more

For years the Press 195 locations have been a favorite spot for me to treat myself. Well, two things going on tonight: First, I recently saw a tantalizing food network segment about good pastrami sandwiches. And second, I am starting a major diet tomorrow. I got me a number 30, pastrami and Swiss, without the sauerkraut, and swapped the brown mustard for some (sorry Jewish grandmas) garlic mayo. We had Shabil as our server and he was incredible. He was personable, had great recommendations and was patient with my friend and I as we were contemplating what to get. We ordered the Belgian fries for the table with the chipotle mayo, garlic mayo and the Carolina bbq. The Carolina bbq was not good but the solos were great. It was jam packed with flavor between the sauce, the caramelized onion, the avocado and the perfectly cooked steak- I had no complaints but used tons of napkins! I've been wanting to come here since they opened. I was at the Rockville Center location a few years ago and was happy when I found they were coming to Plainview. While I don't live in Plainview anymore, I took the 30 minute drive to come here for lunch. I was alone, so I opted to sit at the bar. Press 195 does it again! I was able to score a spot at their soft opening and everything was amazing. Parking was so easy, the lot is huge and it's just blocks from the hospital and right across from the library. So easy to get to from the 135! The new decor inside is so beautiful! I loved all the blue accents. Plenty of bar seating, high top seating, booth and table seating available. They also have a party room in the back that holds about 45 people (I was told) and it has a beautiful vintage door as artwork and I was obsessed with it. They have a full bar and plenty of beer taps but I ordered the white sangria which never disappoints. Their fries are the same caliber of yummy and crunchy as the other locations and their pressed sandwiches also keep delivering. Press 195 in Plainview NY was the place that Extravagant Parties LI hosted their sip and paint event. ( see pix) Evenbrite sold tix on line via a QR. The activity was done in their back room. Some of the table setups were against the back area with no direct light above, making it hard to see the intricate tiny paint by numbers images. I did ask the hostess in front to turn up the lights above onto high. The waiters came around with menus that some people ordered from. The event included 1 free drink of choice and glasses and pitchers of water. The plastic cup was for water to rinse brushes from acrylic water based paints also included with various pictures , one each to paint. There were little bag's with stickpins and what looks to be a tiny soap pumpkin, raffle tickets for a few gifts were also included. Festive Fall decore we're on the tables. 2 hours later most if not all had the beginnings of painting pictures. Overall people cheated , painted and had a nice time out. read more

On my first visit to Press 195, I did not realize it was a popular restaurant in Rockville Centre Long Island. From what I read, they are known for pressed sandwiches stuffed with flavorful meats, fresh veggies, and cheeses. The restaurant is in a busy strip mall that was recently updated from its tired previous appearance; Press 195 is a recent addition to the strip mall. We were a group of six and the restaurant had no problem accommodated all of us comfortably. The menu was a challenge for me since most of the sandwiches were made warm. I settled on the chicken parmigiana on handcrafted Ciabatta bread. Particularly good. I could only eat half the sandwich since it was very filling. One of our parties had an interesting creation called the Knitzel; thinly sliced breaded pork cutlet, sweet red cabbage, Swiss cheese, and a side of gravy. Wow, that looks good. I might suggest adding a tuna melt and or impossible burger , to the menu as another option for vegetarians. Acoustically, The noise level is pretty loud, so you should just be aware of that. Plenty of parking in the lot at the strip mall of Morton Village. One negative was that the staff were really rushing around the whole time which was not relaxing to see. I get that they were trying to be efficient and serve people, but it just felt a little chaotic and rushed to me. Staff were friendly. I think also they have some live music on some evenings. Brand new place. I was sat and table and booth was dirty. The steak was not edible. Very chewy. Mozzarella circles were cold and the marinara sauce was possibly the worst I've ever had in my life.
