stopped in for a couple of cocktails and ended up meeting Mike one of the friendliest owners who was also the bartender who made us feel right at home. we had a few different types of cocktails and sangria's and they just kept tasting better and better. We also ordered their kielbasa bites with caramelized onions that were outstanding. they have a large dining area and a nice size bar with plenty of TVs if you're interested in sports.

Honestly --this place was really great. The service was outstanding and so were the wings: we came for happy hour so drinks were lower and we got 4 wings for $5 bucks and we got 20 all together and tried different sauces. We could taste each one differently but they all looked the same! The ambiance is like a modern pub with a touch of log cabin feel. They are located in a strip mall and if they were in downtown huntington -they would be packed everyday:

I think I need to come back and try something else. I didn't like how cold the nachos were. A plus is that it's ALOT of nachos. Apparently it's bc all the condiments are cold but the cheese. Even the cheese was cold though. The tenders weren't bad. I had truffle fries, and something else idr the name. I'm going to come back alone and retry something else. There was a huge party going on so I felt the food was taking some time but the workers were nice.

Mad for Chicken is now currently open on Mondays. Lunch order was mic mix of wings and legs in garlic soy. Perfectly crisp and a tough of garlic flavor. They have lots ( see pix) on the menu including liquor drinks and teas slushes and smoothies. Quiet at lunch today. Note: as road work and driveway is currently being worked on closing parking access to stores in lot. Parking elsewhere and walking over. Note: bathrooms are down long hall in back . Food and choices are many. I plan to come back again another time.

I have been here a few times and each meal I've gotten has been incredible; from the dumplings to the wings to the drumsticks to the japchae. The rice bowls are so filling and delicious. I can't say enough great things about the food. The drinks there are amazing as well, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. My favorite is the lychee soda. Recently, we had a birthday celebration for 25 people and Mike, the owner, set me up with a private room in the back and it was one of the most stress free parties I've ever had to plan. Mike, Sarah and their staff were on top of everything. Kept me in the loop step by step throughout the night and helped make it a perfect night. They were great to work with and can't say enough great things about them. I highly recommend Mad for Chicken for a casual night out or for a private party. *This is NOT paid advertisement

Several meals in over many weeks & months and Mike's disposition hasn't changed. Super friendly, kind and giving. A man with a passion for his business. My last visit I sat for dining in and the crowd was beautiful. Very diverse and everyone looked to be enjoying themselves. Mike recognized me immediately even though I hadn't been there in a while. Just as kind & sweet as always. We shared some adult beverages & chatted as I waited for my order of spicy soy garlic wings with Extra Pickled Radish. Yummyliciousness! The food is always hot & fresh. Lives up to expectations but the customer service is what really stands out for me. Keep Doing Whatcha Doing Mike! 10-19-2023

Five piece thighs/drums. And ten piece wings.

Chicken is good. Tough batter, kinda gross to me, and chicken was dry. Ordered plain fries and truffle fries. Truffle fries came out piping hot, plain fries not too hot. Needed salt and pepper, nobody around to bring it over. Five piece chicken / thighs and drumsticks, is a lot of food. Enough to feed three people. Suppose with a cheap price tag, you should set expectations accordingly. Server also didn't give me back my credit card, insisted he put it back in the check folio. He didn't. Someone from behind counter came and gave it back to me. Wouldn't go back, personally, and it's not close to where I live. If I lived closer, I might try something other than the fried chicken.

I love Fried Chicken. I started going to the original Mad for Chicken in Flushing about 10 years ago. The Plainview location does not disappoint. When hot and right out of the kitchen, there is no better chicken (with all due respect to Jollibee which is the gold standard for fast food chicken). When it cools down, it is still CRISPY!! This is the artistry in the process. You have a choice of 2 traditional sauces..soy garlic and spicy. The spicy is great but it does pack some delicious heat. The cubed pickled daikon radish is the perfect palette cleanse. Cold , sweet, and crunchy. The selection of Soju and Beers on tap is vast (try the Catskill Pilsner..trust me). The staff could not be more accommodating. This falls into my gold standard category.

We were here recently for a political event, which they generously provided a meeting room for. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by Mike, the owner. We chatted with him while looking over the menu, and I was impressed with the pride he took in his restaurant. We had been using the Mad for Chicken in Bayside, so we were familiar with the basic idea. The food and drinks came quickly, and service was always attentive. We have several doctors in Plainview, so we are happy to know about this excellent spot nearby.

Can I say wow!! First of all the ambiance inside is nice a roomy and the service is great. They are attentive and welcoming from the beginning. We ordered the Japchae, Tteok-Bokki and Soy Garlic 3 piece Korean fried chicken. Everything was FRESH! The rice cakes were tender and the dish was flavorful with the sauce and pieces of fish cakes. The soy garlic chicken was CRISP and flavorful on the outside- only criticism is it lacked flavor on the inside. Nonetheless the chicken was moist! The STAR of the show was the JAPCHAE! So FLAVORFUL from beginning to end. It was unanimous. The bulgogi beef was so well seasoned and in general it was such a delight to eat the japchae. No noodle was left behind! Will definitely be back to dig in to some more menu items.

Astounded by how crispy all of the chicken and fries came from takeout. The sauces on the dumplings and chicken were flavorful, and the bulgogi bowl was the perfect warm treat on a cool fall night. Since my dad brought home the food I can't speak to the service or ambiance, but I can only imagine how much love must be in both by the amount of love in the food alone. Absolutely would try this spot again. In love.

    Kimchi Fries

Even though this restaurant is a very short drive it has taken me a very long time to finally visit. Let's start with the ambiance, it's very pleasant and has a nice vibe to it. Pretty full on a Saturday night. Staff seem very friendly even though I only did take out. Food breakdown: Kimchi fries - a surprising amount of kimchi loaded on top of very crispy fries. And I mean I drove home with these things and they were still crispy! Now the spicy mayo that comes with them really just pushes it over the edge. Get extra. Bulgogi bowl - nicely layered with meat, rice, noodles and lettuce, though the meat didn't have that intense flavor I was hoping for and very little amount of sauce was in the bowl. Maybe an extra side of sauce would have helped and a bit more salt on the meat (hence why 4 stars out of 5) Budae jigae - yea can't pronounce that but just woah. A tub of ramen with rice cakes, various meats, kimchi and a delicious spicy broth. This was the highlight. Yes it's pretty much the single most expensive item on their menu that's not a combo but oh so worth it. A culinary delight.

Curry popcorn... It was really good.

The inside is very millennial style with the grey and black ambiance. It's pretty open spatially and there's a menu on the wall. They make their own brewed iced tea. Their sandwiches are pretty clear in description. I dislike that the chicken sandwich pastrami sauce has pork in it, so anyone who avoids pig products like the plague needs to inform them when making the order. The sandwich itself was pretty good. The bread didn't cause my lips to flare up like other yeasts do. They didn't go heavy on the balsamic vinaigrette. The workers came out to greet me and give me a tour even though it's pretty self explanatory. After the drinks refrigerator and sandwiches menu, there are three additional menus for sides, fruit/veggie smoothies and protein smoothies. I ordered a chocolate protein smoothie and the cups they have are larger than the portions they serve. They apologized like it was an inconvenience to me, but actually I was happy that I didn't have to worry about any overflow or spillage. I think it's great that it's a tad bigger. I also bought a pan de nata to try. They forgot to add the cinnamon, but it didn't need it. It was done to perfection. Bakers of All Nations in Mineola now has some good competition. On the walls surrounding the smoothie bar and dining area there's a mural that explains the type of cuisine you're getting and about the chef's travels. It's kind of neat. Happy eats!

This talented brother had many years in the food industry in Portugal and is a fan of their crispy styled bread/rolls. They are now made right here. Sandwiches are nicely made, fresh, flavorful and a step above the generic sandwich places. Elevated flavors and dressed with a nice vinaigrette. Lots of choices. We started with the popular and will venture out to the more creative. Sardines and octopus looked good but can wait until another day.

It is rare that we get out this way on a weekday, but since we were, we had to come try out Ralphie's after hearing the raves from my Yelp buddies Christina & Donald J. and Ray N. We were not disappointed. Look for the daily specials board because everyday has something unique cooked up by the chef. I saw the shelf of Chicken Empanadas and knew I had to have one or three. These are some of the biggest ones I've ever had and tasty too. From the specials, we also ordered the Grilled Salmon Fillet, which was topped with Pesto Cream Sauce served over rice and the Boneless Spanish Grilled Chicken Thighs served with rice & beans and sweet plantains. These 2 we saved for dinner. For lunch, my wife & I shared a Seared Ahi Tuna Steak BLT sandwich with Wasabi Mayo. This sandwich hit all the notes. The Ahi steak was almost an inch thick and perfectly seared! They were also generous with the bacon. It was just a great sandwich all around. My only regret is that we mostly get out this way on the weekends, when Ralphie's is closed, but now that my son works out on the Island, I'm going to have him come by here to pick up dinner more often!

I'll put it up against any other restaurant that you have been to that served this dish. 3-5-2025 I am in love with Ralphie, Tony, Matt & the guys. No, seriously I am! They exude vibrant passion & caring. For people & their food. I let Ralphie or Tony choose what to give me. Nothing is a wrong choice. Last time it was Chicken Sausage with Tomato Salad & Mozzarella on a hero suggested by Ralphie. I'm not a Chicken Sausage fan.....usually. They have a way of changing my mind on things. This sandwich was one of them. Absolutely delicious! Today Tony picked. Fried Sole on Sweet Roll, Tartar Sauce, lettuce & Cheese. Then he added a spicy beef hot dog that had cheese in it. Threw some mustard & sauerkraut on top. Perfection! So do yourself a favor. Come by for anything they are serving. Especially in the winter. The soups are homemade and always a home run!
