I had two exterior decks that needed new waterproofing. After pricing the project out with multiple companies, I found Prestiges pricing to be most competitive. I did have a handful of question prior to beginning the project and Josh was always prompt and helpful in getting back to me with the answers I needed. The job was completed quickly once it began and the finish was exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I would have done differently is communicate with Josh more thoroughly on my expectations as there seemed to be a miscommunication regarding the railings we were using. I ended up having to have the railing team install prior to decking and then remove and reinstall after decking to make it work with the waterproofing system. Other than that minor miscommunication, I am super happy with the end result and process working with Prestige and will definitely work with them on projects in the future. read more

While on the job he was able to recommend the best remediation of the damage beyond the excellent water proofing job he did. I'm a bit of a skeptic when hiring most trades, but Josh's company did an absolutely perfect job. The attention to detail was excellent. I was concerned that "bird baths" could be accidentally created in the deck if the slope was not correct away from my upstairs entry, but at the end of the job, they poured five gallons of water on the deck to show it had correct fall. They do a complete deck system of layers intended to seal things up correctly and they clearly understand the importance. read more

I am TOTALLY impressed with Prestige. The patio above my garage has leaked for 40+ years I have owned my home in Anaheim Hills. I finally said to myself..."enough is enough." I contacted Josh at Prestige Deck Coating, received a bid and accepted his quote. His crew of Jose, Alberto and Gustavo arrived at promptly at 7:30 AM to begin the job. It was obvious his crew knew their business. They removed the old floor (even swept between the floor joists!), installed new flashing, glued and nailed new T&G plywood, applied the various layers of cement, fiberglass, resin, cement, knockdown and 2 coats of paint. The crew showed up every day at 7:30 AM and cleaned up at the end of the day before leaving. I was able to witness all the steps of their process. Can't speak highly enough about Josh and his crew. We had a lot of dry rot problems and just had our ocean view deck botched by another company a year prior who would not honor the quality of their work and repair problems they either did not address or that they created. I went through several subsequent estimates with different decking companies and chose Prestige because of the thoroughness of their estimate (came 2 times 30 minutes plus each time) and their care to explain the different decking repair systems out there and the pros and cons of each one. Their price was competitive and their work was high quality, courteous and on time. During the construction they found additional unexpected defects in our deck and they were careful to inform us of each time of the need for additional repairs and I never felt subsequent cost revisions were unreasonable. read more

Josh did my upstairs patio deck about one year ago. At the time I had big problems. I woke up to water dripping into my master bedroom from a leak in the decking above me. The deck had already been patched once, but was not done well. I had called a few people but they just wanted to patch again. I knew that better drainage was needed and that the initial deck was not installed correctly for drainage. Josh explained the process and did a great job moving my AC unit, completely tearing out the old deck and lower portion of the walls. Luckily there was no mold and the trusses did not need replacement. A brand new deck was installed with new flashing and drains. The deck was raised in one area to drain better and the AC was relocated away from the drain. It's been one year and I think this deck will last a long time. I'm so glad I had Josh and Prestige do this job because I feel they did the job right. I am a very pleased customer! read more

Ok so I normally don't go back and add to reviews however, given the recent weather I felt it was only right to add more info. Josh from Prestige Deck Coating waterproofed our outdoor staircase, landing, and balcony. We made the mistake of thinking we would be able to tile within a couple weeks. Unfortunately, we had some unforeseen setbacks and the stucco and tile have not yet been applied. I just wanted to say Prestige Deck Coating is amazing. We have had more rain in January than we have had in a long time. Even without the tile the waterproofing has kept everything dry. Not a drop of water under the staircase, landing, etc. He properly sloped the stairs so the water drains. His prices are very competitive so If you need waterproofing this is the guy! read more

These guys were referred to me by my pool repair company. I called them on a Monday, never did get a return call. Called again on the following Wednesday and spoke to the owner - he said his estimator would call within 30 minutes. He did, but told me he would have to call back Friday to set up a time to come out. Friday came and went, he never called. Finally Monday afternoon I sent them an email asking if they were interested in the job. That evening got a return email - "we're too busy to take on your project". Their website says they are "reliable, timely and trustworthy". They were none of these things - there are much better companies for deck coatings in Orange County. read more

After providing me with a written estimate by email, I responded with an email request that they schedule the job ASAP. When I hadn't heard from the owner after three days, I located his phone number and called him. He said that he didn't monitor his email on a regular basis! Despite my misgivings, I scheduled the job for 8:30 am on the first available day. At 3 pm on the appointed day, I went to the property (it was vacant) only to find that no one had shown up! When I called the owner again, he claimed that he really had intended to call me to say that they were still stuck at their previous job! Apparently he was too busy and too irresponsible to make a two-minute phone call!! I told him not to bother rescheduling my job--I was done! Sometimes when your gut tells you something, it's important to listen! I could have saved $150, but if the quality of the customer service is so awful even before they have done the job, what would it be like after they had been paid?? I used California Deck Coatings instead, and the owner, Adam, was wonderful! He came as scheduled; he discovered other potential water intrusion issues that no one else had even noticed; and actually came himself on very short notice to paint the deck after the sun came out when rain had forced them to delay the painting that morning. read more

I wish it were possible to give a minus star rating to a company as Prestige Deck Coating would certainly qualify. Based on reviews I saw here on Yelp I called them for a quote on work I needed done on my deck. It took several calls to even get a response from them. Finally someone, I believe his name was Josh, called back and made an appointment to come out on September 25th and give me an estimate on the work I needed to have done. He gave me several possible options which I appreciated however what struck me as strange was that he never took any measurements or even wrote anything down. I explained to him that I needed the repair and resurfacing quote by October 2nd so I could present it to our Condo board for approval. He said he would have it for me by the end of the week. Friday came and I had received nothing. I called his cell and left a message and even texted him reminding him of my deadline. He never bothered to return my call or respond to my text. It has now been two weeks and I have still not had any communication from this company since they were out to look at what I needed done. If they were not interested in taking on the job all they needed to do was to let me know. There are plenty of other companies out there who are looking for work.
