I thought when a quote was given for 2100 to replace a leaky drain in a bathtub it would take two people 3-4 hours. Expensive but I could understand the premium. Apparently I misunderstood and Instead one person showed up and charged 2100 for 3.5 hours... Even parts were 400, labor and general overhead was 425 an hour? The most insane part is this included a 10% member discount... Almost offensive pricing for a fairly straightforward fix....live and learn I guess. Their office explained this price was quoted as fixed fee and accounts for overhead extra time etc I'm still unsure how you approach 300 an hour for labor and overhead let alone 425.... I appreciate they provide a warranty flat cost etc, but the math just doesn't math here..it seems like other reviews are in a similar boat. Warranty and flat pricing is great but to what end? Buying a mini-split system is an incredibly difficult process. The Mass Save rebate system is very…read moredifficult to navigate. I got quotes and presentations from 4 different vendors and the pitch and price was exactly the same - hour long presentation and a $30k cost. However, what each vendor tells you is that IF you qualify a $10k rebate is available and your net cost is $20k. Essentially the rebate is a scam - it just gives contractors the ability to inflate the prices and use the rebate to make the system sound cheaper than it really is. I finally met with McIver and he was able to simplify the entire process. He is not a Mass Save contractor. So he does not work the rebate, just offers a strait-up cost to install the system. When he gave me his quote, I quickly figured out that Dan McIver was an honest man and that the whole Mass Rebate program was a scam. His quote with the similar equipment and the same number of mini-splits was $13,500. I hired him for the job and they started within a week. One of my biggest concerns was esthetics - I was worried about too many refrigeration lines running around the outside of the house. Our house is a rental property in Cape Cod that had a lot of charm to it and we did not want to ruin the integrity of it. Dan came up with a brilliant solution and was able to run most of the lines through the basement to minimize the lines on the outside of the house - we were so pleased with this solution. His team did a fantastic job building out the system - they were clean and finished the project on the timeline he quoted. The work was high quality!! Net is that Dan took a very complicated buying process and made it simple and affordable. He is highly recommended for the quality of his work, pricing and his honest and straightforward approach!

He came when he said he would and was able to contact the manufacturer and arrange a technician appointment so there wouldn't be wasted time waiting for a return call. Together they solved a gas pressure issue and using a too high MERV (13 ) filter that restricted air flow allowing the furnace to burn too hot. This caused a lockout shutting the furnace down. I highly recommend him to solve your problem much more reasonable than the big firms. He is someone you can trust.

He stopped by and gave us a quote which was very comparable to other quotes we received. We decided to go with Michael and a few days later (before our scheduled installation date) our boiler/heating system completely broke and we had no hot water. He again stopped by and looked it and offered to try to fix it temporarily. We appreciated the offer but we just waited for the scheduled installation date that we had already set. Michael had said it would take 3 days to install and it took 3 days. He arrived on time every day and worked all day in the very hottest of days. His subcontractor/electricians came on the last day and they were polite and on time. We asked them for their business cards in case we needed future electrical work. Don't use!! We've used them as our service provider for heating. Woke up to a massive flood and…read morewater shooting out of our unit at 5am ( I suspect they didn't inspect or fix it appropriately during our annual maintenance). Called at 5am and got the call center. They took all my info but got no response. Had to figure out how to shut down the water and unit myself while cold water was spraying everywhere. Called back again at 8am and got call center again. They said they sent the message and tech got the page at 5am when I originally called. Yet no call back from the tech or anyone! Had to call back again at 9am. This time got the office. The woman on the other end couldn't have cared less that my basement was flooded, I had no heat or water, that we're regular customers and that no one called back. She said the tech was on vacation! So why have a calling service if you're not going staff it appropriately or care to respond? Frankly if the tech called me back and said he was on vacation I would have been fine with that so I could have moved on to another emergency service sooner. Good service and communication really isn't that hard.
