The owner failed to show up and look at my skylight! He stalled for about a month saying that he was busy down in Monterey. Then he promised when he got back in town he'd come take a look. He knew where I lived, as he used to do maintenance in my gated community! He said the manager here (at the time) never liked him. I wonder why? He never showed up, lied to my fiancé & avoided my calls. I remember once he answered the phone and was quite rude and when I reminded him who I was he said "Oh I thought you were a bill collector? I'm thinking it was a blessing in disguise that he never came. Doesn't sound very trustworthy to me if he's avoiding Bill collectors. More damage was incurred waiting for him to show up as promised to fix my leaky roof. Lesson learned read more

We took four (4) quotes and two (2), really wanted to up-sell us. Being retired and needing a roof, cost was a big priority, which it is with every one. Prestige did a second layer for us, saving almost half the cost of a complete replacement. If you look close you might see the first layer, but look like a new roof and are very pleased. Prestige, replace wood rotted plywood sheets, wood rooted 2" x 6"s, painted and replace plywood with KILS and then used our house paint to match. They replace 2" x 6"s, both under exterior hanging eves, as needed. And again painted. Bill provided some additional venting, to improve the ventilation. Not asked for but did it our benefit. The total job was completed on time, as promise, at the agreed price! Thank you Bill and thank your very hard working crew. read more

Called Presitge Roofing back in late August 2016 along with two other contractors to get a quote on re-roofing my house based on Yelp reviews. Bill showed up as scheduled and listened to my thoughts and concerns. Got a quoted to me after a couple of days and it took me calling him to get it and that should have been a clue, but I went with him because of his 4 star review. Called Bill to schedule work and he was booked 2 months out making it October before the work could start, which I expected from any good company. 10 days before the first of October I called Bill to make sure we were on schedule and two calls later Bill did not have the courage or professionalism to even answer or call back. Leaving me hung out after two months and no way of getting the job done before the rains. read more

For the estimate there were no suits, laptops or fancy advertising materials, just an experienced man who climbed on the roof, wrote the specifications and asked what I wanted. His bid was way less than 7 other bids and he added no extra cost! Bill was on time, returned all calls with answers and had the roof finished on time although there were a few dry rot problems which were fixed. I called Prestige Roofing after another roofing company failed to get my roof done. I started calling roofing companies and about 5 companies later bill answered his phone. I told Bill my situation he told me he could be at my house in about 2 hours to have a look. After the estimate was lower than the original contractor that was going to do my roof Bill told me we could sign the labor contract and that he would try to move something on his schedule the following day to try to get my roof done. True to his word the following day he and his crew were there bright and early to take care of my roof. Bill is the best! He came out to look at my house and I wasn't even there. He did the roof and the gutter in the back yard and it looks great. Blew the competition out of the water. It was quick and easy and he even made a special trip out to meet my mother so he could explain a few things and inform us about some new laws with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We meant to write this months ago, and we're sorry that it took so long. We would like to have been the first to say here how highly we would recommend Bill and Prestige Roofing. We would "ditto" nearly everything the first reviewer wrote, with the exception of our not having been informed early on that we'd need to install several updated smoke detectors (new law) to pass the permit inspection. [BTW, these can be ordered cheaper at Amazon and HomeDepot.com than purchased locally.] We received bids from several roofers, but Bill gave us the best bid, as well as being the only roofer to pass our "honesty test!" That is to say: Bill was the only roofer to admit that our roof had a lot of life left in it, and offered to just repair the problem areas. The others insisted that it was a lost cause, (and we knew they were fibbing.) Some of the roofers were suave and some appeared more established and "professional," but only Bill struck us as worthy of our trust. Some bids were double Bill's price, using the same materials. We are so very glad we chose Bill. He was flexible and friendly, working closely with us (and listening very well), to give us exactly what we wanted, very afford-ably. He also gave us very wise counsel that helped us make some hard decisions, and the results are lovely. It was alarming when the roof-rippers sounded like a heard of cattle running on our rooftop, but apparently this is normal. Just be prepared for this, no matter what roofer you choose. We have only written a few reviews...we do it only for the best/worst case scenarios. We're happy to announce that Prestige Roofing was one of the best! read more

I started to replace my roof myself and found it was going to be too much for me when I discovered all the sheathing would need to be replaced. I got three quotes, all within the ballpark, but Bill at Prestige Roofing was the best and considering my predicament was able to move a job to start on my bare roof right away. Rain was predicted by the end of the week and I was more than a little concerned. Bill told me not to worry that he and his crew would have my roof on before the rain. It's been a few years since I had my roof replaced by Prestige Roofing. I chose PR because it offered the most competitive bid, which included wood rot repair in the bid. Unfortunately, my experience was that PR was a "blow and go" business. It's a 2 man operation that forgoes professional quality workmanship for speed. I have never seen such crooked ridge lines! While not having to worry about the extra cost of wood repair is nice, the problem is that YOU will have to find the wood in need of repair yourself. The contractor did not bother doing this before slapping on the shingles and I had to point out the problem areas myself. Most likely, a lot the problem areas were already covered up before I had a chance to see them. Also, PR did not install 2 new metal vent flashing as contracted. I found out later when I inspected the roof. This was undoubtedly a way to save money. Worst of all, the work of the flashing around the chimney was so bad that it did not pass city inspection, and it took months for PR to make the repair. When I look at the roof now, I regret not having spent a little more and have it done right. As a side note, I also had the gutters replaced. Unfortunately, the outfit that PR subcontracted was also a "blow and go" operation, with the same crappy workmanship all around. I believe that PR simply does not spend enough time to do a decent job before running off to the next job. read more
