These folks put a roof on my house 5 years ago. When I had the hvac unit replaced, the installation left a roof vent just hanging. When I contacted Freeman roofing to do the repair on their work, I was told that they only do complete reroofs, and I would have to hire someone else to fix it. I guess, I can understand that as a general policy, but they BUILT MY ROOF, and now they won't fix it. Im sure not going to recommend them anymore business, and im SURE not going to utilize them for anything else, EVER. As you can see from his response, Jim is a SUPER nice guy. He shirks responsibility, gossips about his customers, and leaves them high and dry(or wet) in this case. If I were a potential customer I'd CERTAINLY weigh these things before I let them into my house, and onto my roof. There's not a lot I can add to the other positive reviews other than to agree. Jim Freeman is a great contractor; honest, reasonably priced, really cares about doing a good job, friendly and easy to deal with, shows up when he says he will (every time), keeps you in the loop throughout the project. I got estimates from four roofing contractors for this project. Two of them used areal photos to give their estimates (i.e. they never came to the house). One contractor was going to send an employee to do the estimate but then never showed up. Jim not only came himself to do the estimate (at the time and date he said he would), he was there on the job site and involved for the entire project from tearing off the first shingle to hammering in the last roofing nail. read more

Working with Jim Freeman has been an extremely positive experience. Jim was punctual for every meeting, estimate, and job. His team showed up on time every morning and worked until just before sunset to tear off the old roofing and apply the new insulation and new roof. They removed the dry rot areas and did some construction to shore up the atrium. We performed a final walkthrough and everything was cleaned up. There were no cost overruns. Jim Freeman and team put a new roof on our home in Feb 2023 and did a fantastic job. He and his team were responsive to our questions/requests, were attentive to detail, and showed much desire for customer satisfaction. Jim himself is a very hands-on owner and does a lot of the more complex tasks himself. On top of this, in Feb 2025, some minor water damage appeared on some sheet-rock, indicating a possible leak in the new roof. I called Jim and he showed up the next day to take a look. It turned out to be a leak in a roof accessory.....and not any part of the new roof itself. But Jim proactively repaired the leak at no charge to us. He showed such great customer focus and a desire for his customers to be satisfied. I would highly recommend Jim and his team for roofing projects. read more

Jim has been in the business a long time. He doesn't cut corners and actually comes in person to do the estimate. So many company's look at a satellite software and then submit your estimate without even seeing the roof. With our new roof, he replaced all of the decking (plywood) and included that in the estimate. The other company's we had bids from, didn't say a word about replacing it. I guess many companies just reroof over the old decking. We were going to replace our gutters and him was honest and said it wasn't necessary. Honest guy! My husband got Jim's name from our handyman, Sam Russo. We had many problems at our old house getting a roofer out and even had that problem here - until we heard about Jim Freeman Roofing. My husband gave him a call and he was over to see our garage roofs within a few days, with a price! We had a budget price in mind and Jim came in a few thousand dollars less, plus my husband got a good feeling from Jim and decided not to get other prices (these reviews helped as well). Jim is very nice, professional and patient. I changed the shingle color 3 times and he was just fine with it. He set us up for August 9th - talk about quick and awesome service. We recently needed to replace the roof on our two-story house after the big winter storms. We got seven bids and decided to hire Jim Freeman Roofing. Jim was one of the first to reply, he gave us a very detailed estimate, and he ended up being the lowest bid for similar materials, so it seemed like a no-brainer. Jim was always easy to talk with and prompt with responses to any questions. When we expressed concerns about potential additional damage from upcoming storms before the roof replacement could be scheduled, he came out to our home and installed temporary waterproofing over our areas of missing shingles at no extra charge. He ordered shingles right away and scheduled our job as soon as dry weather permitted. He and his workers did excellent work, always showed up on time, and cleaned up after themselves regularly. We knew going in that we would be paying extra for any dry-rot repairs needed as the job progressed, but his prices for that were very reasonable and we only ended up paying an extra few hundred dollars for several small areas that needed work. My girlfriend's house is a half plex. She has been having major leak problems for the last year or so. Unfortunately, she has one of those flat white roofs with no slope to it. We contacted several roofers for bids and we felt that Jim provided us the best quote and my girlfriend felt the most comfortable with. Jim was punctual and got to work right away. He completed the job in the time amount given. He left the area clean. Jim also added a slight slope to the roof to help keep the water from pooling. A few months later, we developed a leak. This was not the cause of the new roof that Jim installed, but instead it was coming over from the other half of the roof. Jim came back a few times and was able to stop the leak. I requested quotes from 5 roofers on Yelp, I have a 1200 square foot home and received quotes ranging from $9k to $18k. Jim came in on the lower half of the estimates. That being said, Jim made me feel confident the job would be done correctly. He is clearly a no BS veteran that understands the intricacies of roofing. I had a few special requests that he said he would accommodate. His crew was neat and efficient. The load was dropped off about noon, his crew was papering and shingling by 2pm. Our roof took a hit during this big windstorm. We have only owned the house for roughly 22 months. The roof should have lasted about 8 more years according to our purchase paperwork. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We had a few roof repair companies come out and give us their pitch but we called Jim at the suggestion of a friend. HE came out and gave us a no bull quote and we agreed to contract with his company. He has very fair pricing and quick work. There were some additional repairs that needed to be done during our roof replacement and he was very upfront about the cost and showed all receipts for materials he had to purchase. There was a small issue with the gutters that he contracted to be done and he came out and promptly fixed the issue. He is an honest and fair man and his company is as well.
