While those two have sit down options and vary in types of service - this is the easiest and most grab and go options. Sandwiches, salads, yogurt - modern and healthy choices. I stopped by this place yesterday morning for breakfast. I ended up buying their veggie breakfast roll. I noticed the ingredients for this roll included whole milk. I wasn't sure where it was used so I asked the staff members. There were 4 staff members present and all of them didn't know what I was asking. They finally asked another staff member who was in another room to help me. That was odd. Honestly, I think their sandwiches and parfaits were overpriced. I debated for a while before making my pick. The cafe itself was nice, clean and well stocked. However, communication issue and the expensive food was a turn off. I will have to find another place for breakfast next time. read more

I wanted to give this Pret A Manger a chance as well as their $40/month subscription to take advantage of 3 beverages a day. I believe that the subscription would be worth the price considering how much I end up spending on coffees and refreshers most days of the week. However, the customer service is just too terrible for me to continue being a patron. There is a brand new, immaculate Starbucks a few doors down, a Dunkin' across the street as well as Matto and the amazing local cafe, Coffee Inn around the corner. All of the aforementioned have way better customer service than this Pret location. The Pret iced lattes are decent and do what they are expected to do. The snacks are decent as well. My experience today just was so off-putting that I can't ever step into this establishment again. I ordered my iced latte and HOT sandwich on the Pret phone app. When I walked in, my beverage was ready, but the sandwich was not next to it. So I sat, sipped, and waited while other customers came in and out. The 4-5 employees were laughing, socializing and enjoying themselves. When I walked up to them a few minutes later, I asked about the sandwich that was ordered with my beverage and they told me I could take the sandwich from the shelf by myself. I couldn't find the sandwich at first. So, I told them I couldn't find it and none of them made any effort to locate the specific sandwich item. They advised me to choose a different sandwich. (If they didn't have it in stock, then why did they even process the order?) Then, when I looked again, I realized my selected item was on the cold sandwich shelf because it was meant to be heated upon ordering. I went up to the counter and told them that this is the sandwich I ordered and asked politely for it to be heated up. One of the female staff members (in a gray shirt) MAD-dogged me and gave me a look as if I was some sort of idiot to her and said, "What is your name?" as she tried to locate and verify my order -- which no one even previously thought to do when I first inquired about the missing item. Once they verified it was indeed what I had ordered, another employee asked if I wanted it heated up. Uhhhhhmmmm, the item is advertised as "HOT SANDWICH" and I had just asked one minute ago if it could be toasted. What the actual FLUCtuance?! It is clear that they speak fluent English, but I guess what I had asked did not register in her "brain." The employee handed me the sandwich and didn't offer a bag or anything (which is usually what it they put it in when it is pre-ordered in the app). This is just disgusting. I came home and couldn't even eat the sandwich because of how disgusting the employees and customer service are here. No wonder Dunkin' and Starbucks are always packed and this Pret is not. Pret A Manger is always a hit or miss. This time was a miss. The line was out the door, the options were limited and the employees were a bit rude. It was really busy so I completely understand that the employees were frustrated but it wasn't necessary to be challenging when answering a question. The options were severely lacking especially the vegan options -- there were only a few choices to pick from. The choice that I made was to take the cucumber and tuna baguette which was a huge mistake. It was $12 and super unfulfilling -- the tuna tasted old and the baguette was kind of dry and hard to bite into. The cucumbers were really fresh though. The location was nice but it couldn't handle the amount of people that were trying to get food. Until, one fine day, I walked by on the way to work and read, "Unlimited Coffee." "Hmm," I said, "Scam!," I said. Until, with each passing I read the billboard more. Finally, I realized this is not a test! So here's the Nitty Gritty: UNLIMITED coffee Monthly Pass- $9.99/mo for basic drinks like brewed coffee and tea. $19.99 for all the drinks you can handle. Of course, you can't buy 5 drinks at once. But you can come into the store for your morning, afternoon, night coffee all the same :) You do the math. For my three shifts/week alone, this already pays itself off. I am all for a good deal. The Coffee: It's actually quite good. I actually read that it's organic. Listen, it ain't Stumptown but it definitely ain't Dunkin or Starbucks. The Food: It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to realize they're trying to lure you in with the coffee membership and tempt you to buy a $5 dollar treat as well. I'm in luck and have a hell-bent willpower. But, at the end of the day, they sometimes give you free pastries, and who can refuse that? The croissants are pretty darn French-like if you ask me. Almond is the best. Can't speak for savory items- except Moroccan Lentil Soup, which is overpriced but delicioso! ALSO, they never waste any of their fresh food at the end of the day, instead they give it to those in need, which is a fabulous business model I will always stand behind. Constructive Criticism: - This particular location is right on what I like to call "Hospital Row" (MSK, Cornell, HSS). So, I think it'd really behoove them to open earlier than 7:30, as our shifts often start earlier than that - They are so understaffed, it ain't even funny. This is my favorite Pret A Manger location. The people who work here are hard working and kind. I frequent this shop often since I have the coffee subscription. It's a great deal! Deff a safe bet when in the city and need a quick bite. Coffee is fresh and they have a great selection of sandwiches and soups. Ordered a cookie and it was super hard and not fresh ( took a star off for that) chocolate is chocolate and I swallowed it while anyway! A OK pret on the upper east side that has decent blueberry muffins, CROSSIANTS, COOKIES, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, Etc , during the morning then switches to decent sandwiches , soups , salad bowls, hot wraps , etc, during lunch time . The hot and cold beverages ain't bad as the coffee and cappuccino drinks seem to be enjoyed whenever I bring a few cups to my office crew. Prices has gone up a bit since the end of the pandemic and I also have notice many pret shops close for good but for breakfast and lunch once or twice a week it's ok to come here over the fast food joints instead . I used to come here all the time given the convenient location but I will not be coming back here again. The customer service is one of the worst I have experienced and they do not even bother to correct your order if they make a mistake. Woohoo! A Pret in UES! I visited this location during their soft opening and the first 100 customers received a free sandwich/soup, croissant, and drink. There was a line out the door, past the hospital, and around the corner when I got there. However, I waited patiently because free food is free food am I right? When I finally got to the door, the gentleman outside was very polite and energetic. When I got into the store, everybody was helpful and greeted me with a smile. Awesome customer service. read more

Came in here to get a latte, wasn't even greeted with a "hi" or "hello". The workers were all just gossiping and acting ridiculous like children tbh. I was so appalled and literally got second hand embarrassment from this. So I went to get my drink from the pick up area and there's these two workers who are just laughing and playing around like actual children...anyways I pick up my order and the first sip was DISGUSTING. I had ordered a caramel apple latte or something of that sort. It taste like plain coffee and almond milk. No whipped cream or caramel which I specifically asked for. Just picked up a chipotle chicken salad to go .. manager was at the door making sure that everyone was maintaining distance and that the store didn't get too crowded. Enjoyed my salad very much .. will definitely get again my coworker got a frittata one day which smelled and tasted amazing ! They just threw like 7 of my items into one bag with no separate bags at all - sandwiches, croissants, cookies etc. everything got mixed up and it looked like a compost bag or something. Too lazy way of preparing an order. read more
