Maman is a French cafe with an appetizing array of pastries, drinks, soups, salads and simple fare. It was small but charmingly decorated. I had a spinach and feta quiche, warm but rather flat and the crust wasn't flaky. I liked my pistachio chocolate croissant better -- the almond filling was quite nice, though I demand a more layered and flaky croissant. This was quite busy and popular during the morning -- seating was limited -- but the staff was pleasant and our food was brought promptly.

As always, a wonderful experience at this super cute coffee shop. Stopped in for an afternoon coffee and snack and was not disappointed! Can't go wrong with any of the pastries here! Great coffee and cute atmosphere!

I can't find seats after 4pm for over 2month. It's been over packed..... :'( some lattes are already sold out. back seats close early as possible I'm. It sure why. They have store original goods for sales. They have new things every 2-3 month. *Danish needs to be inside toaster more..... !! It's got so soft and watery & oily....... :'(

Great vibe at The Hugh. Loved the macchiato - roasted sesame on top is so interesting!

People come here most for the ambiance and viral pastries, and both had great things going for them! We preferred the nutella pastry to the strawberry vanilla creme because the strawberry one was more plain. The nutella one was for sure the winner - rich, sweet but not too much, and a great beignet texture. The coffees were okay, nothing special. Would definitely return, but would not get the strawberry pastry again.

Stale cookies. Chocolate chip cookie tastes like it was baked 3 weeks ago and it's still on the shelf for sale. $4.90 for a hockey puck.

Great spot to meet friends for brunch or get takeout! Numerous healthy options and delicious…read moredrinks. We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

I got the market salad with grilled chicken which was very filling and packed with flavor. The grilled chicken was an add on so cost a little bit more than $25 but still an amazing deal. 10/10 recommend!

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

The Benedict was so delicious. I've never had it on a crispy hash brown type before. It was good and a massive portion. Mac and cheese was alright, though I would probably opt out of it next time. I was so full I totally forgot to drink my latte but the latte was good too. Ambiance was nice clean and very busy.
