    S'more Croissant
    Kiley K.

This place has reopened within the past couple weeks! It's really nice in there, smells good and has a lot of space to sit and chat or work. The display case is filled with tons of fresh and delicious desserts with the s'more croissant served heated up being standout. The croissant itself was perfect in every way and the additional marshmallow and chocolate decadence was the perfect touch for a sweet tooth. They were also offering free samples - the eclair and chocolate cheesecake were also wonderful! I'll definitely be back!

Café with a solid foundation, as evidenced by their freshly made breads and pastries, ample, seating area, and polished interior. Located on a hustling portion of Lexington Avenue, you can finally take a deep breath from New York City with stumbling into this coffee shop given the vibe and nature of friendly staff. There are a number of coffee shops in the area, but this one has a real Parisian field to it. You can immediately tell by the overall presentation of baked goods and attention to detail.

This place is very cute and a good place to catch up with a friend. They have plenty of seating, good music that's not too loud, and has so many pastry and staple drink options. The service is friendly and they make sure you know where everything is so that you're not hunting for straws or additional napkins. Very nice touch, especially since it was my first time there! Overall a really great place to read or do quiet work!

I found my new favorite lunch spot in the neighborhood. The avocado toast at Patis really hits the spot! It isn't cheap I think it comes to $18 or $19 but it is consistently delicious. It has mashed avocado on the bottom and pickled onions, tomato and salted pumpkin seeds on top. I believe they use a fresh sourdough bread. It comes with a little salad on the side with greens, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. The pastries are also fabulous! The chocolate doughnut with cream inside, for example!

    Very nice outside seating 10/17/21

Patis Bakery is a Kosher Bakery. It has only been open for about a week. I've been by here three times, twice I spoke to employees. I'm getting the scoop about their operation a little bit at a time. They don't open until 9am and they're closed Saturdays. If you like your coffee early in the morning this isn't the place for you. The employees are very nice and were patient with me even though they are VERY very busy! Today I purchased my coffee elsewhere and decided to return to check out the baked goods around lunchtime. Once again the employees were very nice and explained everything to me. I was thrilled that I could order a sandwich. The Fougasse looked great and was especially appealing after the employee said he substituted kale for the arugula. I'm not a fan of arugula. He said the bread is Cranberry Pecan Sourdough. It was such a delicious combination of ingredients. I would definitely get it again even with the belly ache I got from the onions and peppers! This sandwich was $10.83 including the tax. You can't beat the price. They are a credit card only business so leave the cash inside your wallet. They were checking everyone's vaccination status if they sat inside. I was happy to see that. I sat watching all the people walking by my window seat as they were checking this place out. More and more were coming inside asking how long they had been open and looking at the menu. I can guarantee that this place will soon be packed with customers all the time, both inside and outside. No problem, I'll be the first in line when they open! I'm highly recommending!!

Came to this Kosher bakery to pick up some treats for dinner with my girlfriends. I was helped by Stephanie who encouraged me to get the toffee cookie and the cinnamon bun, both of which were delicious. I am in the minority with this, but I don't think nuts belong in desserts (sorry) but I could get past the nuts in the cinnamon bun because it was equal parts gooey, flakey, cinnamony, and doughy. The interior was clean and decorated nicely. I will definitely be back for some of the delicious looking breads. Special shout out to Stephanie who was patient and joyous while I asked many questions. I was going to leave a 4 star review because one of the people working wasn't wearing a mask, but since the previous commenter said everyone who ate inside had their vaccination checked, I'm assuming they're vaccinated? I just think it's common courtesy to wear a mask during this time if you're serving food.

This bakery is so cute inside!! I love that there's quite a bit of seating; I could definitely see myself working here post-COVID. I came in around 3pm and they still had a decent variety of pastries available and different types of focaccia that looked really good. In terms of pastries, I got the Dulce de Leche Kouign Amann, Pecan Pie Sticky Bun, Almond Croissant, and Chocolate Toffee Walnut Cookie to share with my family. The sticky bun is one of their best sellers, and it was sticky, flaky, nutty, and chewy. In general, the flaky desserts we got (including the kouign amann and croissant) were the stars. We truly love a good FLAKE. The cookie was also decent! It was on the soft side, so if that's how you like your cookies, this is a winner. Each pastry was $4-5, so a bit pricey, but ayo it's the upper east side so what do I expect. The pastries earned this bakery 4 stars, but the docked star is for the drinks. We ordered the Iced Matcha, Iced Chai, Iced Dirty Chai, and Hot Chai. The matcha was ridiculously powdery. Just sand on the tongue, y'all. My sister stirred it and stirred it, but she could not get the powdery taste to go away. The iced chai had a very mild chai flavor and was more milky than chai-y, you know? My dirty chai was decent, but it was an insane EIGHT DOLLARS. $5.50 for the chai latte alone, with an extra $2.50 for the espresso shot. That. Is a crazy price for a mere 12 oz dirty chai. Definitely not worth it. I also found it strange that they did not have a drink menu at the counter or labels for their pastries. I ended up asking the person working the counter for their recommendations instead of asking them to tell me what each of the pastries were. As for the drinks, I was informed they had a "full espresso bar" but I would have loved to see a piece of paper or a poster on the wall above them or something to help me figure out what I wanted. If you're going to come here, I recommend the pastries over the drinks!

One of the best pecan pastry ever. We had the pecan pie sticky bun and it was flaky and gooey and flavor. It runs out quickly so get it early

    Tiramisu Swirl
    Amanda S.

This is a great place for a quick bite! There's a ton of delicious breakfast/lunch sandwiches and pastries. The Tiramisu Swirl is a real showstopper. It's delicious, too. It's filled with a rich, dark chocolate rum sauce swirled in buttery croissant dough covered in a coffee cream cheese glaze. Pair with with a grilled egg and cheese and you've got the best damn grab-n-go breakfast!

They likely make the best almond croissant in the neighborhood. A few items are on the sweet side but overall they made delicious pastries.

We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

It's definitely a cozy and popular café--mostly cozy because of the size. Seating is limited, but the interior design is clean, minimal, and uncluttered, which makes the space feel calm and welcoming despite the steady stream of customers coming in and out while we were there. Food-wise, everything impressed us. I ordered the pistachio croissant, while my companions got the gochujang hot chicken sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. The chicken sandwich was especially memorable--unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My pistachio croissant was also great; personally, I might have preferred a little less pistachio cream or a more textured filling like almond paste, but that's purely a preference. It was still excellent. The service really stood out. They were quick, friendly, and incredibly accommodating--one of my companions accidentally dropped their sandwich, and the staff replaced it free of charge without hesitation. That kind of kindness goes a long way. The price point is amazing for the quality of food you're getting, and we felt completely comfortable lingering for several hours. Throughout our stay, there was a consistent flow of customers, which says a lot. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. I went again by myself the next day to see if it was better service and it was pretty packed. They accept both cash and debit/credit card. The line was effectively managed with no line cutters, no arguing, and nothing crazy going on. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience. Everyone just ordered one by one towards the front when it was his/her turn. The Vietnamese Cloud Coffee was $7.52 (after tax). Hot/iced + medium/large drinks have different set of prices btw. Staff then handed me the glassware & a free sampler bowl of their soon-to-launch either lemongrass chicken/pork rice bowl after accepting payment. Portion was definitely more on the generous side to say the least. Devoured the sampler bowl in 15 mins because I was hungry & aside from keeping the rain not getting into the food. Flavorful lemongrass chicken + appetizing pickled carrot + fresh, crunchy sliced cucumber laid on a blanket of fluffy white rice. All the ingredients went well together. This is something I would definitely buy for lunch/dinner if this item ever gets added to the menu in the future. I ordered a hot Vietnamese Cloud Coffee, a new drink on the menu. My first time actually ordering a hot drink from Tea & Milk. Usually go for the iced drinks but I was feeling quite cold. So, I needed something hot to hold in my hands. Vietnamese Cloud Coffee - Cà Phê Trứng (Egg Coffee) is made with egg yolks + Vietnamese coffee powder. Lastly, it's lightly sweetened with condensed milk to give off an all-around creamy texture and taste similar to tiramisu. Something created with such simple ingredients yet could feel so soothing at the same time. A hot coffee-based drink on a cold, rainy day is like a snuggly hug. Staff called out your name when it was ready for pickup. Love starting my day off with the strong flavor of Vietnamese coffee! By far, this might actually be the best tasting Vietnamese coffee I have had in all my years. And, I'm usually not a coffee person either. Didn't taste watered down and/or heavily sweetened at all. Everything's just right. Definitely would be going back next time for other coffee/fruit tea drinks.
