Needed to get my nails done after a vacation so found this place near my work. I made an appointment online for a gel mani which was easy enough (requires a $15 deposit at time of booking). I was greeted right away by the receptionist and was promptly seated. Lili was my nail tech and she was a sweet lady. She did a pretty good job on cleaning up my nails and shaping them but the polish wasn't laid evenly on two nails. I'm also not sure if the tools were sanitized (might have been but didn't really seem like it). The pre-tip total was $28 which included a removal so I'm satisfied but I'll make sure to ask for a better paint job next time. read more

Horrible!! The worst service that I have ever experienced! I never write reviews but I just had to because I have never had a worker come up to argue and insult me after they hurt me before! The lady filing my nails used the machine and filed down to my natural nails and shaved a layer off hurting me. She seemed sincere and sorry so I told her it was fine. After a while, her coworker a young woman with a lot of arm tattoos, came up to me and started to compain about me saying that I should have gone back to my previous nail salon because they didnt know how to work with the japanese gel. She then tried to push the blame on me trying to pressure me into saying it was my fault i got hurt! I couldnt believe it! Of course I didnt't accept that, but she kept arguing and being extremely rude and pushy right in the middle of the salon. If they couldn't do the job they should have told me before they started and I would have gone somewhere else. It was only after I got hurt that they suddenly decided its my fault and that they couldnt do it! The lady who did my nails also did a bad job and the result is bumpy and the edges arent clean. The person who did the pedicare also hurt me and didn't even cut my nails straight. Terrible service, terrible results, would never recomend. There are definitely better places than this. Me personally I have been going here for 1 year I never had a problem with them they are so nice and very cheap and they do their job right my nails never looked bad and they are people I trust 100% to fit you in as a walk in 80% of the time and that's one thing I love about this store another thing is that they will try to talk to you so you won't set there bored they are very gentle I've seen them have some difficult costumes and they handled it very good I 100% recommend this store but if you are in a rush please don't rush them they like to focus don't come in being mean to them they are very nice people read more

After coming here for a pedicure, a $40 pedicure at that ! I started feeling pain on my toe nail. It begin to feel hot and irritated I couldn't even touch it because it was so painful. Got a full set of acrylic nails today, the guy did my nails. He did them way too thin, one of them broke right off, I usually get my nails done here and never had this issue, I'm very disappointed. I went in asking for Tina as she was recommended by a friend (one of the nail technician). As I approach Tina, I respectively asked her the etc for wait time, Tina rudely shhh me away. I came to Pretty Nails Studio, since I follow them on Instagram. I went to them last Tuesday (10/11) around 5:30, and according to the sign on the door and their Instagram they close at 7. Luckily the weight wasn't long since there were only two/three people when I walked in. Since, I obviously had time, I asked for a "Halloween design". By that, I meant I wanted just black gel nails and on my ring fingers "Candy Corn" nails. The technician that helped me rolled her eyes and started speaking in her native tongue; I disregarded this. Not only did I notice that the tools she was using weren't "new" and didn't seem sanitized, but I was already mid-manicure when I realized this. She was fine and then around 6:00 I noticed they were all rushing to close and had another technician do the Candy Corn design. I being polite, asked if they were closing and she said no, they close at 7, but since it was slow they wanted to leave early and fast. It was OBVIOUS that was their goal bc upon leaving I could tell it was a half assed job. They left spaces between my nail/skin so it looked like I hadn't had a manicure and I had pieces of cuticle. It looked like I tried giving myself a manicure. Not to mention it hasn't even been a week and it already looks like I haven't had my nails done in 3 weeks and my polish is chipping. It's frustrating, and yes, I should have complained but I was so mad I was at a loss for words. Don't be fooled by their Instagram as I was. I was more disappointed by the service and how careless they were and more over the way the tools seemed to lack sanitation. If you want a good nail place and you're in the area, make the effort to drive a bit and go to Sky Nails off of Vincent. They do an AMAZING job! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Here is my NAIL SALON NIGHTMARE- I wanted to get pampered today so after getting my haircut at Silver Scissors Salon down the street I decided to get a mani and pedi. I did some research on yelp and came across Pretty Nail Studio. $20 for mani and pedi? I'm sold! I walk in with only one customer in the salon (bad sign to begin with). I sit down and they start soaking my nails and applying cuticle softener. Everything was fine until they started cutting my cuticles. The lady doing my pedi was very gentle with my feet. But the lady who was doing my mani (that never even bothered to smile) started cutting away at my cuticles like she had a stick up her ass. I could feel my right hand throbbing after she cut away a little too much skin. Then while she was working on my left hand, the worst happened... she cut a huge chunk of my skin off! And as I sat there watching blood drip down all over my finger she starts to reach for SUPER GLUE. I stare at her in disbelief and ask her "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" and because she couldn't communicate with me in English she continues to squeeze super glue all over my finger. The manager runs over at this point and explains that the super glue is suppose to help seal my wound together and to stop the bleeding. I don't understand this logic but anyway because she squeezed out so much glue on my finger, it started to seep into my wound, burning it, and causing more blood to ooze out. Then the lady put a towel over my finger to wipe away the excess glue, but instead glues the towel to my wound. Now I'm sitting there with a bloody finger and a f*king towel glued to it!!! She resumes by pouring alcohol over my finger over and over again to loosen the glue. She eventually just rips the towel off tearing my wound even more. I spend the next 45 minutes watching them change bandages over and over again and try to disinfect my wound with neosporin. They even tried to continue my manicure but I said no and that I did not want the lady to come near me again. The manager then decides to take over and finishes cutting the cuticles on the rest of my left hand. But because of the extensive bleeding I could no longer go through with the full manicure and instead they applied some clear coat and sent me on my way. As they continuously apologize for the damage done all I could do was roll my eyes at them. The manager didn't dare charge me for the mani but I still had to pay $12 for the pedi and it came out pretty ugly anyway. I guess lesson learned...I'll stick to my own DIY mani/pedi at home. At least I know I won't come out of a nail salon with a gaping hole in my finger. And if you must find a nail salon PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT COME HERE! read more

I've been coming here for years and I never leave here disappointed. Everytime I go I ask for Carol, she's so amazing and patient. Sometime other nail techs will rush when they see there next appt come in then end up hurting a finger or messing up but Carol is so patient. Out of all techs that I've done my nails with ever shes the most gentle, focused, and precised. You can see how concentrated she is when working on your nails. Worst nail job ever. First she was taking off my initial acrylic set and put me in a lot of pain. i said over and over to please stop and just soak it but she kept saying no and that she new the best way to basically rip them off of me. It was extremely painful i was ready to start crying. and then after she finished my new set, she said she forgot a major step and had to redo them. She touched my pinky before it was dry TWICE. and had to redo that finger TWICE. not to mention, a week later, and my acrylic nail AND my real nail are both split in half for GOD KNOWS WHY. After 4 days one nail popped off, they said they would fix and as soon as the Lady was fixing it another one broke off and instead of her fixing it thoroughly she glued it. I've been going here for a really long time since high school, even maybe before that since my moms favorite person for pedicure was LISA. She was hands down the best at pedicures. Was always gentle and very nice to have a conversation. I recently went there expecting Lisa to do my pedi but unfortunately they told me she had just retired. DIRTY JOB, I GOT AN INFECTION!!! On June 9 my sister and I went to PRETTY NAIL STUDIO located on Peak. I always get my gel manicure there, and never had a problem. So I decided to get a pedicure on that day, unfortunately the fallowing day I stared to feel pain on my big toe. Turns out I have this NASTY INFECTION, IT IS THE WORST EXCRUCIATING PAIN EVER!! They do a decent job and have a ginormous amount of colors. Kind of feels like they make up prices on the top of their heads so make sure you do the math yourself so they don't suddenly change it. Also, check that they do what they say they would because they did not do the services included for the package and price I paid. I didn't notice until I got home that my feet were dry and the calluses hadn't been removed. Kinda thought she was going to do it after but it never happened but I feel like it's my fault for not catching it early. The owner changed within the past 5 years and now everything seems very pushy and far more pricey than it was. The owner forced me to use an ATM with a $1 fee and then took the card of another customer (there was no reason to use the ATM so I'm guessing they own it). Idk feels like a lot of little tiny scams and way overpriced. Covid wise it feels safe but overall I just feel like the quality doesn't match the price and it is one of the most expensive nail salons in El Monte just because they became instagram famous locally a couple years back.
