My daughter and I walked in on a Friday, we had to wait half an hour, which was fine. It was busy since it was the day before Fourth of July. They had the FIFA game on so that was nice. I'm not sure if it was the game or what but unfortunately, we left being unsatisfied with my daughter's nails. She even asked if she could have the nail redone because she didn't like the flower they drew the first time and unfortunately, it still looks bad. I don't know if they were rushing because they had a lot of people waiting, or what but look at the flower. It doesn't even look like a flower and it's messed up. My daughter is really unhappy with her nails and considering I spent a good amount on them I'm unhappy as well. I got my toes done and I think my toes look lovely. I appreciate the time and care they took to do my toes. I like the way they came out. I would come back again, but we will not be having them do any hand work next time. It's definitely not your typical gel x tips glued under the uv light . It's a gel that sits on top of your nail tip and she will pat it down as if it was acrylic powder. I got my nails done by the owner of the nail salon , I went in like two hours before closing time wanting a certain design (second pic) . She starts telling me that she wouldn't be able to do the big flower but the rest of the designs she could . She started doing the french tips but i didn't like that my nail was see through cause she used a clear pink base instead of a darker pink colored gel , I even asked if she can just paint the bottom of my nail to try to achieve the pink nail base . She started getting upset that i was being picky about it because it was gonna be closing time soon . She started saying that if i don't want a see through look that I should just do my nails a solid color . Like a dumb as I just agreed because I felt bad that it was almost closing time . Whole time , I could swear she was talking shîț in her language to the guy that works there , complaining that I was asking for too much or something since they wanted to go home already . I went this past Saturday on a recommendation from my mom. I went around 11 am. Celine (the owner) was working on someone's nails and told me to go back at 12:15. So I did. She didn't seat me until almost 1 because she was doing a different clients eyelashes. Once I was seated she started working. I had to get a new set so her taking my current set off was expected. What I didn't expect was for her to take her break and eat while I was sitting with my fingers in an acetone bowl. She took about 20 mins. HOWEVER, putting all of that aside, she was very friendly and did an excellent job. I got dip powder for the first time and she shaped them just the way I like them. I just wish I didn't have to wait such a long time. I will try this place again and asking for Celine again as well. Definitely making an appointment next time though. I walked in with no appointment and they took me in right away. As the lady was doing my nails a woman with a baby and a toddler came in. Her gel had crack from her pedicure she got done yesterday. The technician who did her nails was off. So the lady attending me stopped and assisted her. She didn't bother asking me if I was okay with her attend to the lady right away. Unfortunately she cut me while shaping my nails and didn't acknowledge my request to have my nails a little shorter. The length she gave me is fine but since I type a lot at work it's a bother to have them long. Eventually she started using nail polishes remover and I asked kindly if she could not use nail polish remover over the cut she gave me. When I saw the "Under New Management" sign a week ago, i hesitated to give them a try. I been coming to Chic Nails since it first open over 10 years ago. I always had great service and adored the owner, Mai. Despite the decline in CS and quality of work from some of the worker in the recent years, I still come back because of Mai and several of her long time workers. Between me and my sisters, i decided to be the brave one to go in today. Initially, I was shock by the new face lift of the whole store, which btw was badly needed. When I saw Mai, I was relieved, but what really impressed me was the very personal greeting from Celine and her husband. It wasnt one of those screaming across the room greeting that i am used to, they actually got up, approached me and greeted and escorted me to my throne- I mean spa chair. I was nervous and somewhat uneasy at first, because you dont expect this kind of service ever... previous customers know what i am talking about. After seated, they made sure I was comfortable, handed me a bottle of water, and Mai (my all time fav) started on my pedi and Celine (my new fav) jumped in to do my mani. Celine and her husband are the new owner and their personalities are outstanding. They still have 4 workers. BUT the infamous one, which been much talked about in recent reviews is no longer there. Celine is very approachable and paitence. She is very sweet, local and extremely relatable. You'd be glad to know her English is excellent, so communication will not be an issue. I came in with a fully charged phone thinking I would be spending my time browsing on my phone but she was too friendly and talkative. Oh yes, thats the other thing, none of the worker were glued to their phone, no interuption and no tv blasting in the background. She makes sure that you are her priority and is very apologetic if she have to step away for a split second. I know with her now running the place things will be alot better especially customer service, which I know alot of people had concern about. Celine and her husband are working very hard to revive the place and turn around the reputation. Anyone who had bad experiences in the past, I highly encourage you to come back and give them a try again. Any new customer, ignore the old reviews. Proof is in the more recent ones. As a patron I just had asked for two requests & questions 1. Was if they can do my pedicure in a bucket, because I didn't want to use the spa. 2. That I wanted to use my own nail filer. So the bucket wasn't available, I said okay that's fine, I'll use the spa. So as for my 2nd request the employee became extremely bothered because I had asked to use my nail filer. Her demeanor was very rude and all I wanted was to use my own nail filer because of the fungus it is very contagious and I know that their nail filer is never really washed properly, that they would keep reusing it repeatedly so that's why brought my own. I've never seen someone do a fast as pedicure in my life! She wanted me out of there so quick, she didn't even clean very well. So I thought to myself maybe me asking for these request bothered her so I asked for her name and I had told her I am deeply sorry that you got bothered by my request and I told her the whole fungus contagious nail filer thing and it seemed like an apology really didn't do much she became more angry.
