My sisters wedding was in March and to the day I still get bothered on thinking back on my experience with this "business". I contacted this woman and after days of her not answering then I finally got a call back. She asked me for my name, day of event, location, what I needed, and pictures for reference. On the phone I tried to request a quote and was told she needed to see what I wanted first and I asked what she offered and she told me to just send pictures of reference and we can go from there once I schedule an appointment with her. Since I never needed a candy table I assumed this was normal. I sent all the information right away and never got a response. Days later, I reached out to her and asked if she was ever going to give me an appointment. With wedding planning, time is obviously crucial. She asked me for pictures of the venue/ wall I wanted the candy table on which I didn't have because she never asked for them. She then asked what I needed and I didn't even know what she offered than she gave me a snarky comment which is when I lost it. She even implied that my sister, her now husband, and I couldn't afford her service when she has absolutely no idea what they or I do for a living and trust me, we can. She also assumed I followed her on Instagram and thought that I should know what she offers I guess? How am I supposed to know what the heck she offers based off of her Instagram where all she posts is her work? Like am I supposed to supply the tables the flowers the plates do you have certain candies we want? Like how am I supposed to know what she had? It's sad to know someone runs their business off of social media but I didn't follow her and she was actually recommended to me. She also made a big deal on not having a picture of the wall I wanted it on. I didn't have a picture and I have no idea what a wall had to do with trying to get a quote. It's a wall??? To make a long story short, this lady doesn't reply or respond to calls and messages to try to book her, imagine the day of her event? She is rude, disrespectful and doesn't deserve to be called a business woman because she doesn't even know how to run one. This business will fail because of her disgusting attitude. Here I am 8 months later...writing a review that I did not want to but maybe it will save someone the disappointment I experienced with PPP. I reallllly wanted to like Alenoush but the icing on the cake was her nasty behavior when I expressed how disappointed I was with the outcome...she actually had the audacity to blame me for choosing the wrong venue. A little background (going to try to keep it short).... We decided to throw my 1 year olds bday party at the peninsula BH. She came in an took measurements for the dessert table (which to us, is the most important part of the layout...minus the flowers of course). Anyway, I show up at the party and all I see if a banquet room with the tables set up, no dessert table....it was hiding outside in the corner behind the doors! Literally hidden! What did I pay for?!? It was beautiful...but no one could see it. After the event I expressed my disappointment and she went off on me saying that I should have picked a better venue. Having worked on events before myself and being an interior designer, I know that part of the job is being a problem solver....but this was not a good solution. And I would NEVER purchase furniture for a client that didn't fit through a door...this is why you measure beforehand. Oh and the $800 in balloons I paid for were also thrown away since they flew all over the place. To add insult to injury, my best friend passed away the day before the event. I texted her and asked if she could somehow remove and reprint. She refused and I had to look at the seating chart with my dead best friends name on it! I would have paid extra to reprint but she did not even give me the option. When I tried setting up entertainment for the toddlers she was also dismissive, did not help, and I had to hire my own people. Very disappointed...oh and like a previous poster mentioned, we went over budget as well...and that's fine, if we would have gotten what we were promised. She does TONS of 1st birthdays, but we only get to experience once in our lives as paren **UPDATE**: not surprised by the "nasty" reply from you Alenoush...the cake...an exact replica from a picture you found on Pinterest. I wasn't going to get into a pissing contest with you, but you really took it too far...and yes, I do have the texts, I keep everything. I am very particular to what I like and I usually plan my own events as I am in control of every detail and how I want everything to be set up. I felt that I would be too drained during my pregnancy, so I wanted to hire an experienced planner who knew what they were doing. Per our initial phone call, Alenoush let me know right away what she would be responsible for, and what I needed to take care of on my end. We were able to pick a venue in one day, and then meet with photographer, florist, cake lady, and pick invitations in one day. She stayed in constant communication via phone, text, and email. I told Alenoush that we were combining my son's 1st bday and Christening and I wanted the cake and the pastries to have both a cross and a number 1. Alenoush Very unprofessional, hired her for my son's birthday. She didn't stick to my budget, and original order, she kept pushing me to buy more dessert and cake so my table will look nicer! My husband and I hired Alenoush at Pretty Posh Parties to coordinate our wedding day and to also arrange the decor (flowers, linens, etc) for the big day. Truthfully, I was blown away by Alenoush and her skill and dedication to us. It was amazing. She gave her time, her talent and really cared that our event was superb while still being as close to budget as possible. In short, we LOVE her and would recommend her for your party or event. I really wanted to love Alenoush and was hoping for an incredible day, but I was left disappointed. She is very sweet but we expected more. I also debated writing this review but ultimately decided that if I had the following information I would have thought twice about hiring her or I would have at least asked for a contract. We paid her $2,500.00 without hesitation and we did not feel that she held up her end of things. A party planner is hired to take stress off of your shoulders so you can enjoy your party. Well this was not the case. She actually did not stay for the birthday which was only 3 hours and we were left running around the entire time, dealing with vendors, picking up things the wind was knocking down, making sure things were running smoothly and then having to collect her items and account for her things. Ask for a contract! She doesn't give you one and it only advantages her. Company: It is a one man show. Alenoush runs the entire thing and most of what you do is via text. There is no Office. This was not a big deal for me but it can be frustrating not having anyone else to speak to when she is unavailable. She has events on the weekends. Spends Friday's setting up for those events and during the week when I asked for a call she was not available until 9pm. She indicated to me that on the day of the event her staff would join her and help out. But on the day of the event she just showed up with her dad. Communication: I found her communication to be poor. We hired her in or about August I believe. Our event was in November. Plenty of time right? Well there was but for some reason I didn't hear from her for weeks after we hired her and then everything became last minute. I remember distinctly being on a plane traveling to the East Coast towards the end of October for Halloween and jumping on the WiFi to discuss things with her via text. Because she told me vendors needed to be confirmed within 24 hours. I felt rushed without an opportunity to discuss options and ended up hiring all of my own vendors but three. She also does not respond to emails. I sent at least two that she never responded to. More importantly she really doesn't tell you the scope of her services and this is where the real disconnect happens. I found myself always asking her questions about what needed to happen, what I needed to cover, how things would be done. It should have been the other way around in my opinion. For example, I had no idea we were going to have a kids table until a few days before the event when I asked her how many plates I should buy for the cake. That's when she said she was taking care of the kids table. She never explained the concept of it to me or that we were even having one. Glad we had one but had no clue we were going to. She even admitted to me that because she does so many events she forgets to communicate some things that are common practice to her. Balloons. We paid almost $1,000.00 for balloons and were not really involved in the creative process at all. I would have liked to know my options. Execution: This was the worst of it all. First of all she does not present you with a contract. This ended up working to her benefit because on the day of my event she told me she was leaving before the guest arrived! Leaving? Ummmm we hired you for the birthday party what do you mean you are leaving? Where are you going? This was such a slap in the face. When I asked her where she was going she said "she charged hourly if I wanted her to stay but she couldn't stay because she had booked another event"... ummm... what?! What did we pay you $2,500.00 for? I didn't even have the option to pay more to have her stay because she double booked. She left. I still have blisters on my feet from running around telling everyone where the bathroom was, where they could leave their bags, etc.. Then when it was over we had to deal with the vendors (chase them down before they left to tip them), text Alenoush to ask her what items we had paid for and which were hers (this goes to the lack of communication issue) etc...it was bad. We were all exhausted. And we were left feeling like we were really taken advantage of. Invoices: I never saw an invoice for the cake table, flowers, or decorations. She told us to just pay her. This was really odd. She wouldn't tell us who the cake and deserts were ordered from or who we were paying. She said it was "in house".. what does that mean? She just had us add it to her check. I never saw any receipts for the flowers or the decorations. She just charged us $500.00 and said add it to my check. In the end we paid her $4,000.00. Aftermath: Two days after the birthday we heard from Alenoush. She began texting us that some stands from the cake table that were hers were missing and that the rental company was missing two chairs. I mean seriously?! Isn't that what we hired you for? Amazing! Alenoush is truly talented and great at what she does. She designed and helped setup my sister's bridal shower at Olivia restaurant in Burbank. You could not even recognize the place after she was done with it, it was beautiful! Her dessert table was an instant hit and the centerpiece of the event. One piece of advice: Trust her and her vendors. Try not to work with vendors she hasn't worked with before because it's nice when she can already speak to their work and can speak directly to them in case there is an issue.. I'm always beguiled to read reviews of vendors and establishments who have stellar 5 star reputations and services (and reviews), yet there's always those few handful of individuals who provide 1 star reviews with "horrible experience" recollections, leaving the rest of whose expectations have been exceeded by the same vendor quite dumbfounded and frankly wondering "How is that probable? Are we even talking about the same person here? Could you simply be one of those people who is impossible to please and perpetually seeks fault in everyone, therefore you might be the actual problem?" I mean really, sometimes the math just doesn't add up. I really speak on behalf of general yelp reviewers when i say this, because i have seen it on different pages, but in this case, where the services of Pretty Posh Parties are concerned, it applies distinctly. I came in to write a review of my own experience working with Alenoush, and it coincides with the majority, who were equally satisfied to the uptinth degree, because in this industry, every detail that exudes creative, tasteful, elegant and chic execution - IS everything! And Alenoush is above par in every realm. I have an interior design background, i micromanage creative processes and for me to relinquish creative control to someone who is working to reflect my vision, I can't begin to speak the praises of Alenoush who not only pulls it off immaculately, but brings so much more to the table. The woman is a creator, not just an event planner. I'm not even going to speak about her professionalism, tactfulness, organization and punctuality, because you can't be a success in this business and have over a 110,000 instagram followers, if you aren't any of those things to begin with. I happen to have personally seen her work, in attendance to 3 different and isolated events over the last 2 years and left enchanted by it every time. So when time came for an event of my own, I didn't think twice about who I wanted to hire, but when all was said and done, I will never think twice about who I need to hire.
