I went in yesterday for an eyebrow tint and a tweeze with Meghan and I couldn't be happier ! I didn't have much to work with and my eyebrows now look thicker than before! Meghan was very thorough, professional and knew exactly what she was doing! I will most definitely be back. Also my biggest pet peeve when going to get anything done is when people try to sell me everything under the sun. At no point did I feel like I was pressured to buy anything or that I just HAD to try their product. This is not necessarily a complaint about Prettyology. After spending over $2,000 and 4 visits I have 1 3/4 eyebrows, no eyeliner. I tried 2 different technicians to see if there was a difference. I think my skin just doesn't work for this technique. This is information for the customer. It may not work on you. I'm not looking for Prettyology to contact me. read more

Had my eyebrows done with Jackie 2 times about a year apart and loved them. Unfortunately with my skin type, the pigment starts to fade to a light gray very quick- at about 3 months. We tried the pen on the second attempt but still my skin just ate the pigment up. I basically use the faded gray outline as a guide for my brow pencil. People need to understand that it is not the fault of the place or the technician. Everyone at Prettyology is highly trained and they use the best pigments which is why they are so expensive. And that is why I am giving them 4 stars even though it did not work out for me. read more

This past Saturday I had my eyebrows done with Shalyn. It was my first visit to Prettyology and I will definitely be going back. I've been to other salons/spas on Newbury Street, but Prettyology is different. I felt welcomed and didn't feel like the girls working there were looking me up and down. The girl working at the front desk was super friendly. Shalyn did an amazing job on my brows and is very friendly, I felt comfortable the entire time. Amazing! After years of over-plucking my eyebrows, I decided to commit to letting them grow out for 8 weeks and then splurge on the best eyebrow shaping I could find. I read countless reviews for salons in the city and decided on last year's Best of Boston Mondi Hodgdon at Dani Wagener Beauty. I made the appointment weeks in advance, and the day of they called to cancel saying they had "over-booked". It was a day before Valentine's Day and I was scrambling to find a salon that could fit me in. I called Prettyology and not only was the woman who answered the phone was super friendly, but also willing to squeeze me in for a shaping that afternoon after I explained my situation. The salon was great - clean, trendy, lots of natural light. The staff was very attentive as well and my experience was unbelievable. I had heard people say that a good brow shaping can change the look of your entire face but I didn't believe it until then. Shayln did an amazing job and my eyebrows have never looked better (even my boyfriend took notice). A little pricey, but so worth it. I have been back multiple times and after reverting to over-plucking on my own, I most recently saw Andria who I think did just as great of a job for a lower price. She educated me on where to stop over-plucking and how to clean my brows up on my own to extend the life of my shaping. Although there may be cheaper options out there, the results are 100% worth the cost. Not to mention you'll definitely notice difference if you go there and then fall back to your old routine. I currently have alopecia. Had it for 3 years. Completely lost my eyebrows. I tried everything. I even took a break from all the products. It really sucks. Felt like I was running out of options. I came here yesterday after being referred by a friend thinking I had made an appointment online . The website said someone would contact me to confirm but no one ever did so I thought I'd go in person and see if they had any same day openings. When I got out of the elevator there was a girl with red hair sitting behind the desk on her cell phone and didn't even look up or greet me . The other front desk girl greeted me and I told her I was looking for same day appointment she said she had a spot open and to give her one moment . I kid you not I could hear her go in the back of the spa and ask a blonde girl if she would take me and I could hear the blonde girl saying "no tell her I'm booked for the day" seriously? The front desk girl came back and said I'm sorry I actually made a mistake and were booked today. At that point a woman with grey short hair came out and kept asking about lunch while the front desk girl was still lying saying they had no availability . I said thank you and left . She didn't ask if I wanted to make an appointment for a different day or anything . Pretty crappy service . And the grey haired woman who I later found at was the owner set a pretty bad example because she didn't greet me either and was too focused on lunch to realize that her employee lied and said they didn't have anything available . Everyone was completely oblivious. Poor service , and the artists don't want to work. read more

I had my eyebrows tattooed due to loss of hair - I cannot say enough about Julie and the amazing work she does. Her staff is very professional and welcoming. As a 60 plus woman I wanted my brows to look natural and not overstated - I never really had brows before- I could not have asked for better results - Julie 's attention to detail and her kindness made me feel relaxed and the time flew by. I had made an appointment to just have a makeup application for my eyes. Everyone was very nice and welcoming when I came in. The website said that makeup for the eyes cost $50 and up. I was shocked when I checked out and it was $75. I would have been better off going to get my makeup done at saks and purchased makeup. read more

I just had shalyn do my eyebrows which were hacked by Elizabeth Grady ....so much so that I looked in the mirror everyday and was so upset because at 55 yrs old those hairs are never growing back...fast forward to today literally 2 hours ago....YIPPIE THEYRE BACK!!!! I have perfect eyebrows symmetrical even and gorgeous. You do not realize how much the eyebrows do for your face. Yes I was nervous and yes had a couple of sangrias beforehand ...not needed at all! After taking a good look, she knew exactly what to do as well as describing a plan for growing my brows in over time. They look great! Plus she was friendly and positive and very welcoming. Gina took the time to talk to me before the procedure, and answer all my questions and concerns. Once she started, she consulted with a colleague about shape, and color. Together, they made custom made decisions that matched, not only my face and skin tone, but also my facial expression! She was incredibly patient and kind and the results are better than I expected. More unhappy by the day. Left with brows uneven in shape and color after micro blading with Jackie. So unnatural and unattractive. No concern about the quality of their service. I can go in for a third time to try too fix, but I'll have to pay to have it done. Money isn't the issue, but principle. This salon and the owner come highly recommended. Shalyn is amazing! I decided to come to Prettyology after doing some research on the internet and Yelp for a good brow wax in Boston. Shalyn was very thorough and detail oriented and spent about 45 minutes on my brows. I came to her after trying to grow my brows out from a previous botched wax; not only did she fix them, they look better than they ever have. I have been to some amazing brow artists and estheticians on the West Coast but Shalyn is better than them all! She listened to what I wanted and tweezed, trimmed and shaped them perfectly. I now have gorgeous Kardashian looking eyebrows. My only complaint is that it is very expensive! read more

I went to Prettyology for a pre-wedding facial and eyebrow shaping, it was highly recommended by a friend. It was just what I needed to start the day of wedding day errands ahead of me. The staff was professional including the receptionist who was peppy without being annoying. My eyebrows were tweezed (vs waxed) which was a first for me but the outcome is a clean shape and it doesn't hurt the way threading does. I did a facial (no extractions) and my face glowed for days. All three of the prettyologists I have seen have been great, but today was my first time seeing Shalyn. She is a little more expensive because of her experience but I must say that she is worth it.
