We have had a growing yellowjacket problem in an enclosed soffit/wall directly over our back sliding door for the past several weeks. The wasps were crawling through small openings in the siding in several locations, and it was impossible to tell where the actual nest was inside the wall. I didn't want to have to tear the wall apart to find them, but after trying many times to spray poisons up into the cracks wherever I could and only killing a few wasps at a time, and using multiple traps to no avail, I decided our backyard was basically no longer accessible due to the high number of wasps back there all day, and I had to call someone before someone got stung. I called Jon around noon and he answered the phone himself. I gave him a brief description of the problem and he agreed to come out first thing in the morning the next day. He arrived when he said he would, looked at the problem and discussed his thoughts and plan of attack with me. Then he took care of the problem and cleaned up afterwards. The whole thing took less than an hour, and as promised, the next day (today) the wasps are finally all gone! He guarantees the nest as well, so if it turns out they aren't actually gone, he said to call him and he would come back and take care of it. In summary: his price was very reasonable, he came over within 24 hours of my call, and took care of the problem the first time around. I definitely recommend him to anyone having pest issues, and especially if you're dealing with wasps and have children around! I have to give Jon 5 stars for being the best at his word. First, our dishwasher water was all over the floor. We had a warranty so we called GE out, we had it less than a year. The GE repairman pulled it out and said it wasn't a dishwasher problem, the "rats" had eaten through the piping. :-( I got on the phone and started calling pest control companies, and not surprisingly, they all were swamped. I do believe with so many people finding rats it may have to do with the fire here in Santa Rosa. Anyway, as much as everyone wanted to help, Jon was the only one willing to come over the following day at the end of his workday. We live in a nice mobile home park and found that our neighbors had just found rats also. I would have recommended Jon, but they had already hired someone. Jon owns and operates his company. In less than 2 days he made room for us. We were grateful he made room for us since he would be gone for Christmas week, Mon-Fri. Jon spent 2 hrs, cutting, trap setting and everything else he had to do. No contract, which I was grateful for. The charge for an "emergency" type visit, $150, which we figured was a bargain for the time he spent. He also made two more visits in the following 2 weeks to set more traps and for that "no charge." We did agree to have him come out monthly for $60, a very fair charge we thought. For that $60, more traps are set if needed. Jon is kind and personable. If at all possible he comes on the day you need him. We checked with other prices and Jon can't be beat, unless there was some pest company I didn't call, I thought I got them all in the area. I spent a total of 2 weeks/2 visits with sepsis pneumonia. I felt it urgent to get those poor little creatures out of my mobile home. Our dog is finally getting some sleep after hearing the rats for weeks before we did. I'm sure he was concerned about them getting his food. After calling a few pest companies closer to where I live, and none of them being able to come to my house within two weeks, I called Prevent Pest Control, spoke directly with the owner Jon, and he promised to come the next day. My problem was mainly ants, nothing as horrible as rats or roaches, so the fact that we was able to come so soon and deal with my not-so-dire problem was very much appreciated. He took the time to show me how the ants were moving around and where they were most likely located in the unseen spots, explained what he'd be using and what I should look for, and how it might take 1-2 days to completely eradicate them, which is exactly what happened. After I mentioned a few spooky looking spiders and bugs that I'd recently seen, he went around the outside of the house and took care of those as well. He even suited up and dealt with a nasty yellow-jacket hive nearby.
