Price Chopper -Market 32 at Elm Park in Worcester is an embarrassment to the nice Price Chopper name, from Schenectady, NY. - The inside (dirty and smelly this AM) is not clean, the restrooms are from the 1980's, and the men's room in the front of the store entrance has only one stall, and no urinals. The company should refresh this store, to bring it in line with other nice Market 32's and Price Choppers, before the Market 32 re-branding has occurred. read more

The update to this review is basically just for the bagels. I mentioned better than average in my last review, but their bagel game in the last month has really taken a turn for the better. They come out in the mornings fresh and have such a nice chew and crust to them. The hidden gem are their blueberry bagels which are some of the best I've had and I've had a lot of bagels from well established shops. If you stop here, their bagels are definitely the winners and highlight of this store. OTHERWISE: For the most part, this price chopper is just average. It might not compare to the newer Market 32s around, but this store has been here since before I was born. Do I expect more? Yes, but they function and serve their purpose, which is provide a space for me to buy food. Recently, they've been more understaffed and select items can be out of stock still. This is a store mostly for convenience, and if I wanted cheaper prices I'd make the effort to drive out to a Market Basket. read more

the seafood department is so subpar. they won't give you the weight of fish u want. they tell you they sell it by whole cut. they fry there fish to dry. customer service sux. sometimes the fish isn't fresh overall bad.... did I mention how rude the fish guys are read more

This location does not live up to the price chopper market 32 brand or really any grocery standards. Not only were they out of basic ingredients like garlic, I found a few expired things on the shelf. The kicker was 90% of their staff was not wearing a mask covering their nose or at all. The lady cleaning the produce literally took her mask off every time she cleaned. Like what's the point of having her clean if she's going to take it off. In fact every person I saw restocking or cleaning was either not wearing their mask properly or was scratching their head/face and than touching all the product. I left quickly and will not return! This is the first place I shopped when I moved to New England. I haven't shopped there since. Weaknesses: Price: They seem pretty expensive. You need a loyalty card to get sale prices. I hate carrying loyalty cards. I asked the cashier if I could use my phone number in the future like many other places. He said, "no, you can use your Social Security Number though." I thought he was joking or mistaken. Somehow announcing my SSN in a grocery store did not seem to be a great idea. Only reason I go there is to buy the Worcester yellow trash bags. Staff: Staff seems unfriendly and uninterested. I went there tonight for probably the last time. The bagger said "bite me" even I was standing by her. This location has the best bagels in Worcester hands down. I shop here every day for the bagels specifically to put it frankly. Every morning they have someone make and bake the bagels on site and so the aromas omitted early in the morning when you walk in are enough to make any bonafide foodie cry. This location also has a real butcher on hand who can custom cut meats for you, something you often don't see in your commercial, highly sterile modern day supermarkets. This place is definitely Worcester hidden secret. Love patronizing this particular Price Chopper. Lastly, it must be said that the staff here are super friendly, always eager to help. read more

Attending college nearby without a car, this Price Chopper was my, and many others, main source for food supplies. Located adjacent to WPI and a short distance from Assumption and several other colleges, it benefits greatly from a choice location. Isles are narrow, selection in every department is stingy at best, prices are inflated, and staff is barely competent (assuming you can find them). I have, on more then one occasion, found items for sale which were more fit for a trash can then the shelves (expired, moldy, etc). Baked goods are probably at the baking level of a middle schooler, and from the selection, appears to be done by one too. Every sketchy person within a 20 mile radius seems to come here to shop, making it a somewhat frightening place after dark (and sometimes even during the day). The only redeeming quality to this place, besides its location, is the fact that it's open 24 hours a day. If you need something late at night, stop by here, but otherwise, stay away. read more

Pretty dump/frumpy, they are open 24-hours but need to clean at some point right? So if you go late night/early morning expect areas to be roped off, so basically it is like they are 60% of a grocery store late night and 100% other times, so in summary a 18 hour 100% operating grocery store. Parking area is a little small and there is no street parking. Lots of homeless people seem to hang out around this area, college apartments on the backside of the building. Selection is hit and miss, employees are like wise hit and miss, some trolls, some people who don't care, a couple people are friendly for 10-15 minutes a day during their shift, you might just catch them at the right time. The check out area seems a little weird, things are against the back wall, a lot of clutter usually in this area seems like a fire hazard to me. read more

I don't think this place is that bad. Three stars isn't bad, it's mediocre! The aisles are narrow, but they aren't cramped. There is certainly a large number of people there at any given time during the day/early evening hours, and yes, a lot of the chatter isn't English. I've certainly seen much better stores, but by no means is this place too dirty to shop. Maybe I'm biased by its close proximity (great for WPI students!), since It's within walking distance of my apartment, but they are well stocked and organized. One thing, the store is really oddly setup. Yes, the entrances are convoluted and disorienting, but there's more to it than just that. On my first couple of visits, I had a difficult time finding everything that I wanted. Maybe I was confused by the new store, but it seems like there are more sections than I'm really used to in supermarkets, such as their Kosher, Goya and two non-grocery sections. The coolers and bakery are on one side, the produce and deli are on the other, but other than that, I feel like there is a general trend of organization in the middle, it's confusing. The shelves _are_ well kept, and everything is in order, I'm just not sure of the order. Strengths: They have decent potato salad in the deli (3 or 4 different kinds too), and the garlic and cheese boule from the bakery is also good for a supermarket. The "sketchy" Price Chopper, also great for people watching. Opened 24 hours, at the crossroads of the city, all types of people are in this place. It probably the most diveristy of all kinds you will ever see. Orthodox Jews, (they have the most kosher food here), Drunken college students at 3am, trying to get the self check out to work, and almost everyone is yelling in a different lanaguge. This place has cheap food, ie. probably cheapest in the city. But is also pretty grubby..and dirty. YUCK. seriously, the food is just randomly thrown on shelves on no order. but that's kinda fun, its an adventure..do something with that at 3am. i know i have. what i do not remember, but i do remember laughing hysterically at the fact the condoms were next to the baby food, and that diet pills were in the candy aisle...that place sure loves irony. BUT YEAH...the aisles are so narrow, I mean, I'm a small girl and even feel clostrophobic in those things, it's reminisent of a MRI machine. This is one is acutally only LESS sketchy at night, as they don't shut half the lights off like they do at the East Mountain Street one, making it feel like, your head might get chopped off, because your in some slasher film. But the clinentelle, it's self is way more sketchy. If you want to people watch this is the place to go 24/7/365. Oh and keep out of the Can and Bottle return..because i heard of story of someone finding herion neddles in there. read more

Stopped in here for the first time as I don't do a lot of food shopping in the city. Granted, The doors could be set up better and it is a bit tough to get out of the parking lot onto either park Ave or highland St. I did not scope out the entire store as I only went in looking for a couple of items but from what I saw, the store was reasonably clean and fairly easy to navigate. The employees I did encounter were friendly and helpful. Nothing great, but a solid three stars. read more

I try to avoid this location whenever possible! This is one of the dirtiest grocery stores I've been inside of, not to mention being incredibly disorganized. The bathrooms are terrifying. Their COVID precautions are seriously lacking. There are very few aisle markers or spacing indicators. Our cashier tonight had his mask under his nose and kept sniffing and rubbing under his nose with his bare hand, which he also used to ring out our food. I made a couple of pointed remarks, which were ignored. After I left I tried to call to speak with a manager but there was no one answering phones. eek! Stopped in here today to buy some stuff for a potluck I attended. Aisles are extremely narrow. Considering the number of gargantuan locals in Worcester this is suprising. It's not a small supermarket either. Just 100 really narrow aisles. 2 stars because of the way the doors are set up and nightmare it is to get back on Park Street. Been shopping there for years. Its difficult to find baking items without sulfites, msg... in most other stores. If you buy Price Chopper brands; it seems to be free of chemicals. No sulfites, no msg... I can drink their baking cocoa powder and eat their walnuts every day; I never get a migraine. Seems to be chemical free. I notice they are also working on removing sulfites in the ready cooked/hot turkey... breast in the Deli and already have a all natural turkey option. Thank you, Shopper for 15 years. read more

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service I received at price chopper. The blackwoman at self check out. whos name iIesha was extremely rude and unnecessary. I have seen her get into rude altercations with other costumers aswell. She Accused me of steeling (without looking at the receipt, took items back inwhich I paid for. I had to ask for manager to go over the recept to determine what i paid for and what she took back. Bc she took the receipt kept it and refused to go over it. I told her i paid 30 something bucks, But still claimed that the bags i had didnt "look" like 30$ didnt look at the recipt mind you. So asked for managers and he replaced the items that she claimed i stole. I am utterly disgusted by the customer service i received here and will never be shopping here again and suggest people to look out for this extremely rude person. I bought green bananas on Sunday and they were completely brown by Tuesday :( The milk on the shelves here has, on average, around 3 days until expiring. Everything from this store spoils faster. Worse food than Market Basket with higher prices. read more

I love this place good selection for a small 24 hour market. Staff is helpful and consistent and customer service is happy to help credit coupons and discounts when you forget your card. I also like that many of the staff have been here for years and years. read more

This a downright weird grocery store. I have only been with my friend who literally lived across the street from it. Decent selection and definitely cheap prices. The staff are decent, but slightly disinterested in their jobs although I can't blame them. Going here late at night (Its 24 hours) gives you some awesome people watching. Trust me. read more

It's dirty... Food looks old.. Wish they renovated like the others because it would be so much better!

Near my home so forced to go there, disabled. Fried chicken in deli has blood in it, OFTEN, not fully cooked. Called and they said don't worry, people don't get sick if the chicken is bloody. I suspect its the time limit for employee paid hours-not the cooks fault. Their organic chemical, hormone free turkey in the deli is very good. We have to continually beg for specific deli and other items that most other stores always stock. The muffins are made with cheap flour, soy, some taste awful, like bisquick and rubbery, and 'weird'. Sulfites in many foods, nuts that cause migraines, lowered vision. Always have to pay more here than stop and shop, shaws and amount of stock is inferior. Always get depressed going here causes wastes my time; have to make a 2nd trip to another store to complete shopping. They have some good food but you have to search, read labels and don't count on the deli keeping the ingredients the same. Sometines good, then reverts to cheap. One reason I am moving out of this area of Worcester. Air, water is terrible, people always sick. Cashiers and workers are very nice. Its clean, pleanty of room. I think the owner is poor; not enough customers so has to run things this way. I often thought a store in downtown worcester would do great and bring back the Mall. Really stupid people runing the city. Used to have a nice park with water fountain that helped the air. Gone. Park by the Price Chopper reaks of sewage. read more

I think the Big Y over by June is probably going to be a better bet. I just moved to the neighborhood and was very disappointed to find that this store has a very limited selection, particularly of organic foods (especially produce, but also in general). Unlike other reviewers, I didn't find it particularly dirty or grubby. But I did find it difficult to find parking, and I found the entry way confusing. I am thankful it is open for 24 hours, but I am starting to think it will be better to find another store to go to when doing anything other than a midnight run. read more
