I am in Palm Springs and was incredibly unhappy with my experience with this company. I've seen the trucks around town, needed some work done and decided to give them a call. When I called they said it would be $135 to come give an estimate, but the cost of the initial evaluation would be a credit for future work. I needed work done so I agreed to have them come and give me an estimate. The plumber came by at 11am, nice guy, affable. I talked to him about running a gas line, and a shower valve needed to be replaced. When I asked about the valve he immediately quoted me over $900.00. I was surprised by the price to say the least, but he said most of it was for "drive time" to the job and that he would talk to his "boss" and send me an updated quote. Most of it is "drive time"? What?!? First, of all we're in Palm Springs and they advertise and work in Palm Springs...if it is so inconvenient to get here then perhaps don't work in the area. Second, if you do plan on charging this ridiculous and exorbitant on each trip...you should TELL customers before you come out. I should also mention he had no tools and did not look at the valve and only looked at the exterior handle. He said the wall would have to be broken to replace the valve and that we would need to "retrofit" the exterior. This is not correct. But he didn't look at the valve so how would he know that? Finally I pay the $135.00 and he leaves. I get the "estimate and he has the drive time reduced to $165.00...but the gas line is going to be $2100. Are you kidding me? The plumber was "nice" (but can you call someone a plumber if they're not prepared to do work). I assume this company walks around quoting ridiculous prices and charging $135 service fees to every fool in town. I attached the estimate in case anyone is wondering if what I am saying is true. Turns out it is. I don't write a lot of negative reviews...but this whole situation pi$$ed me off. read more

Dan and his assistant Brandon worked the job from beginning to end. Granted, plumbing is expensive but Dan gave us many options along the way that helped us make good decisions about our end result. Living in a house that's over 45 years old revealed many problems with our plumbing system that needed to be fixed and replaced. It all started with a leak in the main line to the front yard watering system and from there we found another leak in the main line in from the street meter. When they uncovered started to repair that Dan showed us a leak in the main gas line to the house. All of these repairs and replaced lines we decided were very necessary especially since we are considering selling in the near future. We highly recommend Pride Plumbing and Dan and Brandon. We had Pride Plumbing out to advise on repairing or replacing a 34 year old upstairs toilet. Pride was the only business that offered to look at the toilet rather than just saying it needed replacement, as did the other companies we contacted. Tyler and Adrian looked at our situation and suggested replacement was the way to go. They showed us some recommended selections and provided a written quote on our choice. The tech was nice enough to come back to jet the pipe again and that did the trick. Called them a few months ago and asked if they did well pump work. They said they weren't sure but could definitely come out and look at it. Two guys came out and told me they didn't know about well pumps, but still proceeded to diagnose the problem. They told me the pump was bad and it needed to be replaced, they sent me an estimate to replace the well pump and other stuff. The total on the estimate was over $5000 and it didn't include "unforeseen issues" like the guy said. Fortunately, i kept calling around and finally found someone that knew about well pumps. The issue had nothing to do with what pride plumbing had diagnosed. Ended up paying the other company $400 for the work and parts. Don't understand why they would quote me for something they know nothing about. Glad I knew better than to just go with the first company that came out. BEWARE!! read more

I appreciate that these guys have a big enough crew to show up quick, but man does that come with a premium. We had a toilet that wouldn't flush and one of their guys came and recommended a scope, a snake, etc... I had him snake it and it worked for a day, but come to find out, it was just a small plastic piece in the tank that needed replacing for $3. Another time I needed shower trim kit changed out and they quoted me $1600 MORE than the other quotes I got. Ended up buying delta trim kit online for $300 and hired a plumber to install it for $95. Cool to have wrapped vans and stuff, but man their prices are steep and it seems like they're looking for more work than just trying to find the simplest solution. read more
