    Lump crab au gratin
    Nicholas P.

We went here for dinner as a group of 7. The grounds are beautiful as we ate on the back patio and overlooked the water in the distance. The kids had chicken fingers and fries, which were quite good. The honey mustard had horseradish or wasabi in it as it had a little kick to it, but it was really good! For a drink, I got the Harelegger (I think). It was solid. Could taste the bourbon with a hint of sweetness. For dinner I got the burger, which was cooked well and my wife got the lump crab au gratin. As a bonus we got a plate of popovers. They were really good and the butter was delicious. Overall really nice time. And also the kids loved seeing the sheep!

This place is a hidden gem on the east end of shelter island. After spending the day exploring shelter island with my uncle, we drove out to the rams head inn and grabbed a crisp glass of wine, and enjoyed the hotel and its grounds! I would love to stay in such a quiet and peaceful inn well off the beaten path.

Charming! Here for a wedding last summer and the staff did an outstanding job of keeping the party going, even when the skies opened up right after dark. A hurricane like down pour was addressed quickly with rolled down shelter and enough space for all guests to spread out indoors while still maintaining distance. The quick action on the part of the staff was definitely key to keeping all the guests happy. I was onsite for several meals during my stay and can say the food, especially the raw bar, with restocked oysters, clams, and shrimp was fresh. A seafood boil the night before the big event was executed with precision. This is no five star resort by any means but there are some activities to partake in for old and young; a backyard giant connect four, x-large hammocks for more than one, bocce, and a nearby sandy area right by the water for little ones to enjoy are just some of the stuff that is available. Even though it was the summer, the ample trees on the property, shielded much of the grounds from direct heat, allowing for a pleasant outdoor experience. I did stay at the inn for the event and enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to drive home after a party. Now the rooms are a little dated, they are a little small in terms of square footage, the walls may be just a little thin, there may not be enough outlets in the rooms for all your devices, and perhaps the limited temperature control is a little archaic, but hey that's the charm of staying at Ram's Head Inn. Ram's Head Inn is from another time, and must be appreciated for glimpse of a past memory.

Just exploring the island and ended up at this cool place. It's super classic, the shinning vibes minus jack nicholson. The bar tender made some awesome espresso martinis! So delicious. Great spot to have a drink and wander the grounds

It was a beautiful setting with good food. One would think that they were up in the mountains.

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE TERRACE RESTAURANT (there isnt a separate Yelp listing for it)…read more First the positives: Wonderful location and the cocktail drinks are well crafted and at a reasonable cost. The outdoor seating is comfortable, shaded, and just gives that "beach vacation" kind of feeling. The waitstaff are also attentive and friendly, even if you aren't their table they'll check on you just in case. The negatives: Unfortunately while the food _looked_ gorgeous it had almost no taste. The oysters were a bit of a shell shock (little pun humor) with how small they actually were. I understand it's not the best season currently but I don't think a restaurant should serve dime sized oysters that are 85% breading for over 20$, but that's just me. The scallop dish positive was that they werent over cooked but the only flavor I got was black pepper. The beans themselves didn't have a taste even though they were in a sort of sauce. The NY Strip felt like it was cooked first and then had seasoning added after the fact so was very bland. At the end of the day, it was a meal and I ate it as I was pretty hungry. I dont know if it was maybe an off day for the kitchen or if that's the norm for flavora. What I can say tho are that the drinks are very much worth having if you'd like to watch the sunset.

A family member has a medical condition that requires a specific type of mattress, so I called to ask a simple question about what kind of mattresses they offer. I was connected with a woman named Beth, who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I began explaining the situation, she literally said, "I don't have time for this," and then followed it with, "Are you making a reservation or not?" I was stunned. We were ready to spend a week here, but after being treated like an inconvenience for asking a basic, medically necessary question, there's no way I'd trust our family vacation to this place. I'm genuinely at a loss for words at how poorly I was treated. Also, I might like to add it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I think I've only ever left one other negative review on my account. Trying to support small local business has always been a priority of mine and I understand people have good days and bad days so I don't usually take two social media to post a negative review but this was over the top nasty. I felt I needed to do so. Not to mention, I took a screenshot. The phone call was only one minute, so the fact that she became so nasty and saying she shouldn't have time for this I'm flabbergasted.
