Blocked view of beach and ocean from second floor balcony
    Michelle B.

Room was nice BUT the dunes are built up so high that you CANNOT see the beach and ocean from the second floor oceanfront room that we had. That was extremely disappointing. The whole reason we book oceanfront is to actually SEE the ocean from our room

This is the second time with this hotel group and I can't find something to complain about. The space are great for the price mark and the views and location aim to impress. Just after our first stay we had to come back two weeks later. I highly recommend staying here. The hotel was clean and with a full kitchen. The bathroom was updated and modern. Also the patio with the views of the dunes in the morning was memorable.

Room #22 View toward front door

Beautiful stay!!! My husband and I were gifted a weekend stay here for our birthdays in Feb. 2017. We were lucky enough to have our first day be sunny and in the 60's, it felt like Spring time! We were in room #22, which is ground level, but on the front corner closest to the walkway to the beach-which we loved immensely! It was a short walk out onto the beach and our view was of the dunes and dune grass and the beautiful sky. There was also a patio table with 4 chairs outside the sliding door, which we took advantage of when it was warm enough. We liked the decor in the room, especially the curtains and couch pillows and the coffee table, but there were also many aspects that are in need of updating. I've experienced this in other places in the area, and I don't see updates happening soon because they know they'll still make their ridiculous amounts of money during the in season. That being said, the majority of the fixtures need to be updated, almost the entire bathroom needs renovating and there was a constant humming 24hrs/day, but I couldn't figure out exactly where it was coming from. Some of the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were lifted, the bathroom cabinet door kept opening on it's own, and the fridge in the kitchen (not surprisingly) didn't have water or ice in the door. Also, the bed we think was only a full, queen at best, and not the most comfortable. Again, we loved our stay, I rated the resort with 4 Stars, the staff we spoke to were very nice and polite, but for the good money people pay (especially in season) you should be getting more for your money in the room. It was nice that there was an extra blanket and pillows in the closet, along with an iron and hair dryer in the bathroom. We were also left dishwasher detergent and similar products in the kitchen for cleaning up after ourselves, which I appreciated. We would definitely stay here again because of the location.

It's a place to sleep. I don't know what other people's rooms looked like but let me sum up ours: tube tv (complete with VHS), little stains on the bath towels, 90s furniture...desperately needs updating. We didn't choose this place as we were out here on a job and the client paid for it but...this place could be so great but instead it's just bare minimum with a beautiful view and great beach access. They do clean your room but when we got in bed there was sand at the foot of the bed in with the sheets...so apparently they just make the bed, not change the sheets.... We had a little kitchen/fridge/stove which was nice but other than that, it's just a place to stay with a pool. Waking up to pounding feet: the kids above us running back and forth through their room. And let's not forget the ol pull out queen size bed with springs that might as well be on the outside of it. Would it kill people to update a LITTLE?!

I have great thanks that we were upgraded to the best room they had with ocean view and steps to the pool and beach.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had…read more My partner became ill and was unable to join me for dinner. We called the restaurant to either move our reservation to another day or cancel it, and were told that only the manager could assist us. However, we were told the manager was unavailable because he was busy speaking with regulars at a table. I asked if we could simply be placed on hold until he was available so we could find a solution. We were told no. Instead, the employee said they would "leave a note" and that someone would call us back if they were able to help. Meanwhile, we were told that if the reservation was canceled, we would be charged a $135 cancellation fee -- despite the fact that we were actively trying to work with the restaurant to either reschedule or resolve the situation. The experience became even more unacceptable when the employee eventually hung up on us and then stopped answering our calls. The restaurant only answered after American Express contacted them on our behalf. To be clear, I have no issue with a restaurant having a cancellation policy. What I have an issue with is the way this situation was handled: being told the manager was "too busy" to speak with us, being refused the simple courtesy of being placed on hold, having our calls screened, and ultimately being hung up on. That is an embarrassing level of customer service for an establishment of this caliber. I genuinely hope someone in management -- above the person working the restaurant that evening -- takes this seriously and addresses this behavior. A cancellation policy is one thing; treating a customer with this level of disrespect is another.

They're co-op apts., some of which are owned and occupied by their owners, and then others that are managed for guests from season through the end of October. When trying to find a place in the Hamptons that had a pool and easy access to the beach for a reasonable rate, a friend of mine recommended Ocean Dunes. It's exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful lush property, heated pool with plenty of warm towels, and best of all, a gorgeous private stretch of beach 5 min. walk from the rooms. Our room was lovely, too, just like a little beach home away from home, with seaside decor, a kitchen, king bed, and private patio out back. You can hear the waves from your room! Staying here afforded my boyfriend and me a few days of peaceful bliss. I love it here and want to come back ASAP! *Tip: Check TripAdvisor for a coupon you can mention when you book your room. I did and got 20% off the nightly room rate!
