Since it was on sale I couldn't leave it at the store and bought it with the mission of bringing it to a magical tailor. My friend recommended Village Cleaners as the first stop- she raved to me about their services as my friend had her wedding dress cleaned and altered there. K.C. the owner of the shop is Korean (Koreans are the sweetest people ever!) and she's as honest as they come. She was asking me what the dress was for- clearly I loved it bc I bought it 2 sizes too big and offered great suggestions in how to fit the dress properly to my body shape. K.C. was good about being transparent with cost and timeline, and I truly felt liked she cared :) The whole fitting experience at Village Cleaners was beyond what I expected- you normally get that kind of attention and kindness if you're spending a lot of $$$$$ in places like L.A. and NYC and even then it's not quite authentic. Since my dress (which by the way received so many compliments), I have returned with my dry cleaning, and found equally great quality. Most customers interact with friendliness and good humor and this couple treat every customer like a good neighbor. The reasonable prices and quality hand work prove them to be the best dry cleaner in town. The wife, who is there on Wednesdays, does all the alterations. She measures and pins with the precision. She double checks with every customer to make sure the fitting is exactly how they want it and if they decide they want it looser or longer, she obliges with a smile and patience. Here today! I needed…read morea dry cleaners and Yelp recommended Winn Street Laundry, it was within 2 miles of my hotel so perfect. Winn Street Laundry does their laundry on premise but they send their dry cleaning out. I'm not use to their prices, they have a minimum weight and Jezzzzus, their prices was astronomical! I asked how much and gasps behind me for asking and the lady at the counter "This is Boston" look and their awards let me know YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES DONE RIGHT, SCREW THE PRICES. $7 freakin dollars for a single shirt? It was either my ego that agreed, determined to look Winn Street Laundry starched down and pressed or didn't wanna look cheap and couldn't afford their services. I said out loud "Good grief, I pay $2.79 in Houston for a man buttoned down laundry, heavy starched shirt". I felt the evil eyes trying to climb my Psalm 91 hedges of protection because one of the two tunnels here was closed due to construction and the traffic put commuter's at least 30 minutes behind and in traffic. These Bostonians need to fire up a joint which is legal here and CHILL OUT:)))) Anywho, my dry cleaning was superb and the heavy starch I requested cut my neck and was ready before time. My shirt collars was white so I had not a one complaint for my HARD earned mula. I received a text when my clothes were ready along with a reminder of the price, I like that.
