We went back to Primavera for the first time in a long time. Rachel our waitress was attentive and friendly. The first thing that tipped us off that we were in for a good night was the heavy pours in the wine glasses. The apps were large and delicious. We ordered the Crazy Wings (very juicy), Risotto Balls and Fried Calamari. We couldn't even finish the app they were so big. Staff paid more attention to filling water glasses than asking if we wanted anything else to drink. Food was actually pretty good. Nice selection and omelette stand was very good. We went to Brunch on a Sunday a few weeks back. The place was packed. We had not been to the restaurant for some time, and to our surprise we ended up with the same server. This is where we had my sister's baby shower yesterday! Beautiful place! Very elegant and cozy set up! Very polite and prompt wait staff. I have to specifically mention Jane, who was the person in charge during our party, because she's very friendly and extremely polite. She waited at the door and greeted our guests! Very nice lady and special thanks to her! We had the brunch buffet, and guests absolutely loved it! The menu included Danish pastries, bagels, croissants, 3 different types of cream cheese, sausage (very yummy) , bacon, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict and that was a hit! Also chicken Marsala and pasta. We also had 2 Mimosa carafes for each of our tables. I have been to Primavera for several occasions prior to our own and I always found the place very nice. Every time I come here I have no clue where the bad reviews come from. Service is great, food is always delicious and the portions are huge! Love the fresh focaccia bread to start with, so good. I had the bolognese and my husband had a special, both were made with fresh pappardelle pasta and were very good. Can't wait for the patio to open! read more

From the minute we walked in the door there was something lacking from the greeting we received at the hostess station (all the waitresses were hanging up front looking at us like we just interuppted their joke of the day) to the impersonal service we received from our waitress (brianna), who seemed more interested in rushing back to the hostess station to her buddies than taking care of us. The atmosphere, none! The place was empty, I can see why. The food Bland, Bland, Bland......... They were out of everything, the lettuce was wilted, potatoes dry, bread stale. When we asked to speak with the manager the owner came to the table, a rude blonde woman, that had the personality of a pickle. Basically it was a bad experience all around. I have been to Primavera a bunch of times over the years for different occasions. Let me start with the good news first. I went for Sunday Brunch this past Sunday and it was fantastic! From the food to our server just right. I wish I remembered her name so I could ask for her next time, Denise maybe? There was some ravioli on the buffet, was unbelievable mmmmm good. So that's the good stuff but I do have a complaint. I went for dinner a few weeks ago and the experience was total opposite. My server was a woman who told us she had been there for 20 years or somthing so I'm confused . She took 20 mins to get our drink order and another 10 to bring it over. She never checked on us and my husband's steak was over cooked, he ate it anyway. Bad for business and no refills on soda what is that? read more

I visited today for the Easter brunch and right off the bat it was a disaster. We had a reservation for a party of 10 and they refused to let us check in until all of us were there. We were finally seated an hour and 15 mins after our reservation time. Mind you we had 3 young children and a 1 year old, so their patience is slim to none. I understand that place was packed but theres a reason we had made a reservation in the first place. And then when we were finally seated, we went right to the buffet and the waitress wouldn't take our drink order until everyone was seated. (Even though by that time we could have ordered for anyone that was missing) The food was mediocre and very overpriced, $32 for adults and $16 for kids. Pretty disappointed with our brunch today celebrating our wedding anniversary. I had high hopes because the last time we were here on an Easter Sunday it was quite good (food quality & selection and service), but that was a few years ago. We had a reservation (not needed given the lack of guests which, in itself, was the first red flag) and were seated right away. The busser poured our coffee, but when we asked for creamer, she must have forgotten because I had to go hunt some down before they turned into iced coffees. We had wanted to order a Bloody Mary and a mimosa, but we had almost finished our buffet meal before the waitress showed up. The food quality was mediocre at best. I could only eat a small bit of the roast beef because most of it was still mooing. The horseradish sauce was tasty, though. My wife ordered a spinach and tomato omelette, but when it arrived, it had green pepper in it instead. She went back to the cook and asked him to make the one she had ordered, but he wasn't happy about having to make another even though he had made the mistake. When she began to tell him our table number, he cut her off with 'I know where you're at'. Her omelette was runny and looked unappetizing to me. When our waitress came by, we asked for the check. We sat there a full 15 minutes with our credit card on the check tray waiting for her to come back for it and she never did. We ended up paying at the hostess station. Disappointed! Having grown up in Millis, I thought it would be nice to support this local business. I planned a small reception there and was dissatisfied from the beginning to the end! When I was researching venues, I called to inquire if space was available at Primavera. As we were finalizing our budget, I received a one-line email in all caps from the snappy sales manager asking if I could let them know if I needed the space. I'm not sure why they didn't just call and politely ask--the event was still 8 months out? Do they do this to everyone who inquiries if space is available? This was the first sign...... Being an event planner, I have never experienced a venue that wouldn't cater to the guests needs. Weeks before the event, I asked if we could provided more stationary food items instead of passed, since our number weren't that high. I said I'm happy to do whatever the Chef could accommodate. They said no. Food was terrible and sparce! At the end, everyone was still hungry! The best part of this event was the nice college student who served us. I would never go back and highly recommend you choose elsewhere. It's sad when the small town business don't add up! read more

Went for Brunch on Easter Sunday...big disappointment. The buffet food was cold and they had the omelet station outside along with the dessert station, and it was quite cold out. Which was OK for the ice cream that was so frozen you could hardly scoop it out of the container. Also, I'm pretty sure the Easter bunny was drunk as he was seen asleep by the bar with half his costume hanging off. They had a guy making balloon animals which was nice but he spent so much time singing Italian songs to the kids and changing the CD's that my kids waiting an hour for a balloon animal. I was very displeased with my experience there last night. I met a friend for dinner at 6:30pm. First we were seated at the tiniest table I've ever seen. We continually kicked eachother because there was not enough room for our feet, and we are small people! The place was not busy, and there were several larger empty tables in which we could have been seated. The server was unfriendly, and each time she came to us, she ran away so fast we couldn't ask for anything before she was gone. (Like silverware which my friend didn't have.) We got our drinks quickly enough, and then the salads. However my entree was supposed to come with chowder or salad, but our server told me I was only allowed a cesear salad. Once we finished our salads, the entrees didn't come for over 30 minutes! When they arrived, my friend did like her meal, but mine was awful. I ordered a special, which was described as chicken stuffed with Prosciutto, spinach and cheese covered in a wine glaze. When it came, it looked like a frozen chicken cordon bleu, and was completely dry inside, with no glaze or sauce outside. It was tasteless as were the orange (cheese perhaps, but I couldn't taste it) mashed potatoes. My friend was also overcharged $2 for her dinner. When dinner was finished, another friend came to get take-out and sat at the bar while waiting. There was no bartender for 10 minutes, and then his food also took over 30 minutes to arrive. My family and I went for Mother's Day last week and had a delightful experience. We got there a bit early so we had a few drinks while waiting for my sister. We sat in the middle room where we were greeted by our waitress promptly. She let us know all about all the yummy food the buffet had to offer and we had another round of drinks while still waiting for my sister. There was so many options I could not decide what to eat first. I have to say the prime rib was excellent and I had more then I should have. I didn't even have any of the breakfast options so now I just have to go back! The waitress said the regular brunch on Sundays has omlets made to order so now we definitely will be there! We've been there twice this year and honestly last Saturday is my last time. The service was terrible and the brunch was lame. How do you serve carved prime beef and not have au jus? They sat us in the middle section that they have a material covered ceiling it was filthy dirty and blowing soot down on our table. They moved us to bar area. The murals on the walls a creepy and had to look a painting of a woman's nipple through out brunch. Yuck.. My friend got a Bloody Mary it had nothing but tomato juice and a rotting celery stalk. As we were leaving a man who worked there was digging out cigarette butts out of the ashtray with his hands. No scoop and no gloves so gross. Went to dinner with friends on a Wed evening. Weather outside had been in the high nineties. When we were seated we asked if the air conditioner was on as it was very warm in there. We were told it was just turned on. The truth is it wasn't working ! I felt bad for the employees who were all sweating uncomfortably! We couldn't enjoy our dinner as the sweat was pouring off us . My friend said to us I guess we won't come back until winter. The RUDE manager over heard her talking to us and said she didn't like the comment and started arguing about it. My opinion is the manager should find a job that doesn't involve interacting with people and since I'm an animal lover I would have to leave out pet sitting as well! This was my second visit to Primavera and it will be my last. My brother lives in Franklin and it was his birthday who suggested another restaurant but we over ruled him(!) much to our dismay. We wanted to go Primavera' buffet as we had in the past. We were shown to the bar with high top tables -- should have asked for a table but the hostess pointed to the table and scurried away before we could make this request. After waiting for about fifteen minutes, we had to find a waitress to ask for coffee. I also needed a new cup as the one at my seat was chipped, as was the second one she brought me. Decided to forgo coffee! Then we went in for the buffet. The first thing we saw was white bread and a few half pieces of bagles with a toaster so you could toast your own. This was placed at the beginning of the food table and would hold up the rest of the people behind me in line if I choose to toast my half bagle. Opened the first item, way watery scrambled eggs -- decided to forgo these two items. As I walked on I had bacon, but nothing else appealed to me until the eggs Benedict. Couldn't tell what was at the carving station -- all I could see was fat. There was no omelet station, no pancakes, no waffles, and was unable to decipher what the rest of the offerings were. After managing to climb back up to the table, I tried to find a waitress's attention to ask for juice or at least water. Again, no one was to be found! My brother came back to the table after revisiting the Men's room and said that there were waffles out, but by the time I got there they were all gone and was directed to the French toast - ugh! Fortunately my brother was OK with everything, but did say that next time we would go to the restaurant he had chosen in the first place! I just returned from taking my family (wife and two kids ages 7 and 12) out for Sunday Easter brunch. The food was mediocre at best but the real problem started when we received the bill. When we made the reservation we did so under the impression that adults cost $28 and kids are $14. However, when we received the bill we were charged for 4 adult prices. After questioning the bill we were told that the child price only applies to kids under 10 and that our 7 year old would be charged the child rate. Our 12 year old would have to be charged the adult price though. No where does it say that the kids price is only 10 and under. Not on the website. The manger told my wife it said 10 and under on the website, so she went back and checked her phone and nope it did not. So we spoked to the manger and she said sorry but that's the price and it is what it is. First of all what manger says to her customers it is what it is. So we continued to argue about the false advertising and she said ill be right back, when she came back she finally honored the price but what a Hassle. Never again will I go there and deal with the poor management. read more

I officiated at a wedding on Friday 22 Sept. We were placed in the entrance with too few chairs. The ONLY staff person to smile was Sandra, who passed out hors d'oeuvres. Recently moved to the area . Hard to find the quality of restaurants to compete with Boston . Came to primavera on a recommendation . Menu has a great selection . Pleasantly surprised that we just happened to be there on a " promotional " evening . Everything was 1/2 price on the bar menu. We got fried zucchini , wings , calamari , ravioli meatballs, wedge salad and chicken Gorgonzola salad . Everything was excellent except for the calamari . Kids loved the meatballs & wings and there was enough to take home . Staff and reception were very friendly ! Overall great experience! This is probably going to sound like I am bitter but I just wanted to pass on our experience at Primavera in Millis. We went there on Feb 15 during the snow storm when we arrived there were two tables with two people each who were already eating and maybe two people at the bar. We were seated in a completely empty dining room. The waitress was extremely pleasant and everything came out on time. Hostess came over and asked how things were and then another person asked. Food was very good. At this point I would have said I would come back. When the waitress brought over our check I said oh I forgot we had a certificate from Restaurant.com it was $50.00 off $100.00 not to be used on special offers so I knew we couldn't use on the early bird specials and not to be used on holidays. Waitress came back and said I am so sorry my manager would not honor it for two reason - We did not tell her up front we had it and it was a holiday. Well if you see we went on Sat Feb 15 not on Valentines day I really didn't think it was a "Holiday weekend" type event. (Maybe my fault but I don't think so) Also it was during a snowstorm two other people came in the dining room while we were there so to say they were busy was an understatement. And she didn't even have the guts to come talk to us she made the waitress do it. So I went up to the front desk to speak with her and said I can't believe you would not honor the certificate for those reasons. I could see maybe if you were extremely busy, people waiting to be seated but the place was literally empty, her answer was "well that is not fair it is a bad snow storm" I said "exactly you have four people here and we came purposely figuring you would not be busy" she said "well we don't even get anything for that certificate" well I find that hard to believe I am sure they got the $50.00 when purchased. I said "so you are willing to have four people never come back, and we would have because we all enjoyed our dinners, and not honor $50.00 for those reasons. Her answer was "I can send over a dessert" I said "no we are all set and will make sure not to come back and let people know how we were treated".
