Our food was delicious, I had a Thai peanut salmon bowl and my friend had pork chops and mashed potatoes. We were both happy with our meals! The only thing to be aware of is that it was extremely loud and crowded on a Friday night and hard to have a conversation, but I'm not sure there's much they can do about that. Long time customer here. Usually the food is great but I had the Prime rib on Saturday night and is was just awful. I asked for medium rare and it came well done, full of grisly fat, served in a bowl of broth with no flavor at all. This was the worse prime rib I have ever had. I would have sent it back but it took forever and we were already running late. So disappointing. read more

Today 6/6/24. My friend and I met for our monthly meet at (a different) restaurant. Novatos Bar and Grill was great. Great Martini 's and Beer's. We shared The Wings Plain with sauces on the side. The Wings were beyond delicious. My friend had ( Lunch Specials) The Chili Beef. He said "beyond words delicious ". We both had the seafood sauté, but his portion size of spaghetti was larger than mine. So that's the 4/Stars instead of 5. Service and ambience was great. My granddaughter and I stopped in for lunch and found a true gem! Our vivacious hostess/waitress was outstanding in her attentiveness and enjoyed interacting with each of us throughout our entire stay, and made us feel quite at home. I love it when a restaurant puts such a cheerful face forward! The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. The food was plentiful, delicious, and perfectly prepared. Even the prices were a bit below the norm, especially for the generous portions. I am so glad we found out about Novatos Bar and Grill. Not too large but very cozy and comforting. Our waitress has been there for 8 years and she did not write our order down, but got everything correctly. We started off with garlic parmesan and buffalo chicken wings. Very delicious and dry which is how we like it. The crabcakes were fresh and the lemon added more to the flavor. For our main entrees we had the steak tips, salmon bowl, NY Strip, and the daily special which was a 3 seafood medley bake. Prices are very reasonable and the menu had a lot of items that we would order. We like the variety. Food was great, service was impeccable. read more

Went in early for dinner not too many people. It was pretty quiet and then a loud obnoxious laugh came from the female bartender. Then it happened again and again and again ruining the dining experience. She then was overheard bragging about how she has spoken to before about it. I approached a young lady who worked there at the front desk who was upset I interrupted her on her phone who was not interested in addressing my concerns. So go to Novatos knowing your dining experience may be ruined by an owner who cannot control his staff. read more

This restaurant is located in a small "strip" mall type location with many other bigger restaurants along the same road. We had tried the others so we stopped in. Parking can be an issue as the lot seemed small, but was really just packed. We were greeted right away by two nice hostess's, who sat us right away. Had a nice U shaped bar, that was full and a small dining area. Many families in the dining room. Our waitress was right there after we sat explaining the specials and then gave us a minute for a peek. They had some great local drafts as well as some intriguing mixed drinks. A very big menu, with surprising good prices given the location. We decided to split the Crab Cake BLT and the Chicken Avocado sandwiches. The sandwiches were good size and each very tasty. I have lived in the area for 4 years and I tried this restaurant on a whim last week. What a nice surprise!! On this particular weekend night there was a 40 minute wait, but we stuck it out and were glad we did. We started with the crab cake appetizers, which were the best I've had in the Northeast. They were mostly crab with just enough batter to hold it together and delicately fried. I had the New York strip steak which was cooked perfectly, and very reasonably priced compared to many restaurants. The mashed potatoes were incredibly creamy and I usually don't go overboard on those but they were fantastic. Also a medley of well cooked ( still firm) side of vegetables. My date had a seafood casserole that he raved about! We took dessert home ( peanut butter cake) which was light and wonderful. We will be back! read more

The food was excellent. My wife had the chicken pot pie. She really enjoyed it. It arrived hot and came with fresh veggies and mashed potatoes. I had the Brazilian seafood dish served over tomato based rice. It was incredible. Service was prompt and attentive. The only negative was the place is incredibly noisy. We were unable to converse with each other or the couple we came with. It was a struggle to hear our waitress when she was taking our order. The noise might keep us from going there again, but I did love that Brazilian seafood dish. I might deal with the noise to have that again or maybe we could order takeout sometime. My family and friends love this restaurant. It's perfect for all occasions but I especially enjoy date nights here with my partner. The food is always delicious and the Specials they offer daily are out of this world and super reasonably priced. It's the perfect spot for a gathering, large or small, and the clientele are super-friendly. First time here! It's amazing and me and my mom love it! (Sophia age 8) - From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by a friendly waitress. We glanced at the menu and decided it looked interesting. The restaurant was very clean and looked like it had just opened but we found out it has been around for 8 years. First they brought out homemade chips in a basket, gratuitously. We asked for ranch to dip and the waitress gladly brought it. Sophia had the kids fish and chips and mom had the steamers app. The Kids meal came with milk and it was only $8! We started with a side Greek salad which was delicious with lots of cucumbers and feta. Great service all around. The kitchen staff brought out the food and were enthusiastic and friendly. Again a very busy hopping loud environment. The wait was about 20 minutes and it took just about 20 minutes. The waitress was prompt and efficient just not very friendly. They had nice specials which my husband and I both picked one. I had the chowder and clams cakes the chowder was okay it was thick which I like and lots of clams but the potatoes were large. My husband got the prime rib which was perfectly cooked it was a little bland which was perfect for him as he doesn't do spices. The accompanying potatoes were creamy and delicious the veg was again too largely cut. I was going to go up to a 4 star but after reviewing I realized they still need improvement read more

Late lunch and I figured I'll pass the time with the traffic I encountered heading my direction for the ride back. So I searched yelp for a little help on locating a restaurant for a bite that was close to where I was . Saw some good reviews and the seafood dishes really jumped out at me, so off I went to find this establishment. So I stroll in and grabbed a seat at the bar. Bartender came over to greet me and took my drink order and handed me a menu. Lunch specials didn't do much for me but the main menu had quite a bit to choose from. Pretty descent menu. But seeing some of the pics on yelp and looks like I was already drawn in for the Brazilian seafood stew over rice and that's what I ordered. The was a couple of other patrons at the bar and must be regulars. The other patrons was making suggestions on the menu to point out some of their more popular dishes. They must have figured this guy's never been here before so they helped me out. Actually very nice folks and it was very enjoyable to have such a friendly conversation going forward. The Brazilian Seafood stew was good, shellfish was fresh chunky tomato base over rice, I like he cilantro on the top. All in all the meal was good the establishment has a good vibe. But meeting the great customers speaks for the patrons this place attracts. Will be back to try some of the others dishes on the menu and hopefully catch another round of conversations with the locals hanging there! read more
