5* Value 4* Food 5* Ambiance 5* Service We had an hour for lunch and were hoping we could be served, in and out, under an hour. We informed the receptionist and our server; both were courteous, professional, and accommodating. We received our food shortly after placing our orders. The charm of the restaurant is endearing, which made our short lunch enjoyable. The food was good and convenient for a business lunch. The beef ravioli was delicious and filling. The gnocchi was not as we hoped it would be. The texture of the gnocchi was dense and heavy, but the sauce was savory and creamy. I would love to return and try other items on the menu to have a better understanding of other items. This charming spacious restaurant has a lot of love.

Overall not a bad restaurant! The serving sizes are huge so come with a big appetite :D I would say the food could have a bit more flavoring. We were seated outside and even though there were other people seated outside too, it was hard for us to grab our server's attention. This is a nice family restaurant but I'm not sure if I would return here frequently.

    Excellent Tiramisu (5/5)

Came here for Mother's Day with a reservation. Checked in and got seated within 5 minutes. While we LOVED the tiramisu (5/5), which was excellent and tasted homemade, the rest of the food was fine and not memorable. I got the shrimp pesto (3/5) and my partner got the grilled salmon Fresca (3/5). Service was okay. We didn't have forks on our table; despite my asking someone for forks they never brought them, so I took forks from an empty table nearby. And while this probably won't affect your meal at all, there was a lot of tacky "art" that looked AI-generated.

Got to try this restaurant through catering and everything was delicious. I tried the chicken Parmesan, the meatball antipasto, the pear strawberry salad, and the gnocchi. Everything tasted so fresh! The pear strawberry salad was crisp and I loved the combo of the flavors together. The chicken parm was also juicy and melted in my mouth. The gnocchi was yummy too but I wish it had more sauce as it wasn't so flavorful as I would've liked. The meatball was okay too; not my favorite but still pretty good. I would definitely come back here in the future!

I was looking forward a place to host a party of 20 or so and I stumbled upon Primavera. The parameters for hosting an event there seemed agreeable so we tried out the food. We tried the chicken saltimbocca, the carbonara, and the chicken linguine dijon (not a regular menu item but on the catering/event menu). The chicken linguine Dijon was unique and tasty. The carbonara was decent but we weren't a fan of the usage of thick prosciutto, leading to the dish being really salty. Same thing with the chicken saltimbocca, a little salty for my liking. However the portions were generous and the service was good. The set up was nice, they have a main dining room and a side room for parties like we were thinking about. They were easy to communicate with as we made arrangements for our event. They let us come 30 minutes prior to our event to set up and Shelby and Austin were super friendly and attentive to our group for the entire evening. We didn't feel rushed at any point and overall we were pleased with how things turned out. We changed up our menu a bit for the event (didn't have any options that used the thick salty prosciutto) and everyone enjoyed their food. We had a great evening and there wasn't even any other parties that were seated in our room (even though they could have seated people in there if needed), we felt like we had our own private party! Solid food, great service, and a great place to host an event/large group/party!

Made a reservation and came to celebrate a birthday and our food was forgotten and we waited over 1.5 hours to get our entrees after inquiring with two staff there. Even with the reservation it took a while to get seated although our table was open, we had to re-ask the hostess. Food flavors were lacking also the chefs looked so busy and were doing their best I'm sure. Two large tables next to us got their meals before us even though we were seated first. Then after asking the staff they said they would check and no food came out for 15 minutes so we asked again. If you forgot our food, wouldn't they be next in line to be brought out? It was really frustrating and we were starving by then. Only bright spot was they did give us a discount for the wait and for the birthday celebration they comped the dessert. Overall super disappointing experience and the food was not worth the wait. The waiters also kept bumping into us since we were sat on the corners and everyone was rushing around tight spaces but they still didn't come refill our drinks or notice that we didn't get our food until we flagged them down. Really wanted to support a family owned spot but the service and food we received was not it.

The restaurant is a nice environment. However the food is overpriced. The beef ravioli sauce was excellent but the mixed seafood fra diavlo lacked flavor and disappointing for $35. There were many servers that were helpful

We had such a great experience here! The food tasted super fresh and creamy -- you can tell everything's made with care. Service was fast and friendly, and the whole place has a cute, clean vibe. The drinks were strong but smooth (dangerously easy to sip!). Definitely a spot we'd come back to!

We have driven past primavera several times but never actually dropped by until a few days ago. We were seated very quickly even with no resy and it being dinner time. Employees were all very friendly and helpful when making their recommendations on customer favorite items. The inside is also really beautifully decorated. The food was just ok though. I can't pinpoint what exactly it was but it was lacking something. It did taste good it just didn't wow me like I was expecting. Raised a star for service though.

Always good food and cocktails. For Italian, we go here vs some of the other restaurants in Danville. The veal dishes are done perfectly.

Ask the Community - Primavera Ristorante

Are kids welcome? Is there a kids menu?

Isn't there a Primavera in Walnut Creek?

Primavera Ristorante in San Ramon is the only Primavera restaurant owned and operated by our owner since 2009. Any other businesses operating with a similar name are unrelated.

A friend I am having lunch with is vegan. Will Primavera Ristorante work? I love it...but need her to be ok.

I would call the restaurant and ask, I can't think of many dishes there that are vegan.

It does get very noisy with so many people talking at once, but it is still a lot of fun. The wine expert made each pairing both fun and educational. The menu was well-thought-out, featuring a Grand Aïoli with shrimp, a warm goat cheese salad, French onion soup, Steak Frites, and Crème Brûlée, each paired with French wine. A few of the wines were of high quality, elevating the whole night. My favorite was the Steak Frites with its spot-on sauce au poivre. To top it off, the owner, Theresa, came out to greet our group personally. We will definitely be back for future events.

The cocktails are good, but the prices do not match the experience or food quality. Some of the food was decent, but portions were inconsistent (like a tiny piece of short rib for $40). The two servers we had were very nice, however, the restaurant was not busy and our table and everyone around us had at least one issue or another. Major problems: *Not being told the specials until asking (and after ordering an appetizer). *Going to order Bolognese and being told "we are out of Bolognese." *Being delivered the 3 item dessert menu and then going to order 10 minutes later to be told "we are out of Tiramisu." *The pasta is not homemade or even fresh pasta I thought maybe I was expecting too much, but the gentlemen at the table behind us told them "I came here to eat Italian food, not to eat a pork chop, I don't understand why you don't have Bolognese." The other tables all seemed to have issues, whether it be with the service pacing or random things like the explanation of the special which was called "Frutti di Mare," but was a scallop or salmon dish on a pea puree (no pasta) and absolutely nothing close to what Frutti di Mare actually is. All in all, $300 (we brought our own wine) later, and while I wish this place luck, I'll be going elsewhere.

Food is 3.5-4/5 stars and would like to see a bit more to keep it interesting but know their kitchen setup is limited. No wine with this visit. Dessert: Orange brownie was simple with orange zest and the Hawaiian bread pudding was different and flavorful. Good to see the place bustling and look forward to future rotating pop up events. I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

I was the first to walk in around 4ish in the afternoon (they have happy hour!) and I was offered a seat and water quickly. I decided to order the smoked salmon crudo and the gentleman (I think one of the owners?) gave me some pairing suggestions. While that was getting prepared in the kitchen, he offered me a tasting of another white wine on the house, which was so kind! In the picture below... it's most drunk haha but it was a nice amount to taste and sip on. That smoked salmon crudo is SO GOOD. The citrus adds a nice brightness, and I think there was a hint of honey used in the vinaigrette. I was pleasantly surprised and it's easily the best smoked salmon dish I've had in a while! The wine was excellent as well. I was only in for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half before I moved on, but I got to hear regulars come in and greet the owner like old friends. There's a really cool vibe here, with great music and decor, so I really wished I lived closer to visit more often! As I was leaving, I did chat with the gentleman again (complimented him/the wine bar) and he said he hoped that I would come again as he is trying to work with his partners to add more to the menu (the regulars that came in were asking after the gumbo and the brunch, which they were not serving at the time). I definitely hope to visit again and try those other menu items!
