The chicken sliders were good too, unexpectedly filling, while the chicken wings were unfortunately too salty to eat. Don't skip the green beans, they were delicious! A quaint dining experience located in downtown Danville. A small but spacious establishment with outside seating, with a bar and seating around the bar. The World Cup was playing while I dined. I made reservations for 6:45 and we were seated a little early. The place was packed and loud. There were a small group that was overly boisterous which made for an unsettling dining experience but fortunately that left mid way through our dining experience. The food was amazing we had the lamb and chicken sliders and both were so delicious, adding the aioli to this lamb slider made it even better. Does anyone have the Amex Platinum? That's how I found out about this place! With the card, you get $100 Resy credits per quarter and this restaurant is on the Resy site! My fiancé and I came here for New Year Eve lunch and the place was packed! I didn't know how to change the reservation on Resy but we were put at an outside table. If you remember, it was pouring rain on NYE and we asked if we could sit inside. They shuffled some things around and found us a cozy corner spot which we were so thankful for. Staff is very friendly and kind! The place is super modern inside and has a nice ambiance. We ordered the appetizer wings, a coke, a Hugo spritz, and a wagyu burger with bacon & upgraded the side to truffle fries for us to split. The bill and tip came out to $100 so the whole bill was covered by the card benefit (yay!). I accidentally forgot to take a picture of the burger because I was so hungry lol but the wings were really good and not too spicy. I don't like blue cheese but he does and he said the blue cheese aioli that came with the wings were insanely good. The Hugo spritz in the picture was also really delicious! We were seated across from the bar with a tv so I could watch the tail end of 3rd quarter and 4th of the warriors winning the game. We started with mussels, a light sauce with bread to dip and it had a few pieces of sausages. Light and tasty! Next I had the shrimp and grits. I didn't realize the grits are pretty filling. The shrimp was perfectly cooked with mushrooms and small pieces of ham. I did try a bite of the pork chop and the Brussel sprouts but not the wagu burger or short ribs. The dessert, I had the warm brownie with ice cream and caramel. The toffee cake was ok and I did not trying to the pudding. I would go back and try a few more items. We've also visited their other location, Esin Cafe, and I even remember meeting the owners about 20 years ago when they were just starting out in a small spot in San Ramon. When we arrived, both the hostess and our server asked again if we were celebrating anything, and we told them, again, that it was our 10-year anniversary. After a wonderful meal, what was brought to our table was a small, empty plate with a single candle placed in the middle. That was it. It felt thoughtless, cheap, and honestly a bit belittling. For such a meaningful milestone, the gesture came across as an afterthought rather than a celebration. Instead of making a scene in the restaurant, I decided to write this review to warn anyone planning to celebrate a special occasion here. If you're hoping to feel acknowledged and celebrated, you may leave disappointed. This review is not about the food or the ambience. Both were great. It's about how a restaurant makes its guests feel. We can all cook a nice meal at home and open a bottle of wine to celebrate. Everything -- drinks, food, service -- were fine. Our local is Social Bird in Lafayette, so this was a nice change of pace. The only warning I will give, and not Revel's fault, is that parking can be a challenge on a busy night like this one. We lucked out that a spot in the back lot opened up just as we arrived. I think I have a new favorite restaurant in Danville and it's Revel Kitchen & Bar! I was brought in by the pictures of the homemade biscuit sliders and made sure to order them when we were seated in their outside patio. The service was prompt and helpful, and I was able to order the fried chicken sliders (plain) with the aioli on the side and substitute of fries. It was incredibly delicious. Their fried chicken was crispy and seasoned well enough to stand on it's own and the fresh biscuits were mouthwatering! I used the aioli as a dip with the fries and really really enjoyed my meal. This is my go-to restaurant in Danville for a modern dining experience. The steak frites are good- I would probably order Medium next time as Medium Rare was a bit too red for me. I heard the steak frites and short ribs are staples on the menu, so the short ribs will be something I try next time. One critique is the chocolate chip cookies. Nothing special at all... Overall, I would definitely recommend Revel. Make sure to grab a reservation for the weekend, or try your luck and see if you can grab 2 seats at the communal high top.
