A jazz venue in San Ramon, and with Turkish cuisine? What a great idea! Our group of six, some of whom had recently traveled to Turkiye, were all impressed by the quality of our dinner at Meyhouse. Ray Obiedo and band's performance on 8/14 was also very good. As long as patrons go with the following in mind, they won't be disappointed: the food and drinks were excellent, tasty and authentic, but on the pricey side, and the music sets are rather brief as Meyhouse combines dinner/show seatings and clears the house after the first show of the night. read more

We were walking around city center and decided to come here for a quick bite during happy hour. We were seated right away but overall the service was quite slow (there was a big group of at least 12 people they were helping). The restaurant itself had a beautiful interior and lots of seating. Someone came over and took our order - we went with the hummus, eggplant, fries, and chicken plates. The food came out as it was ready and was served with fresh warm bread. Our favorite was the eggplant as the tomato sauce was perfectly spiced especially with the yogurt it was paired with. The fries were nice crispy (reminded us of curly fries). We wanted to ask for the chicken to be cooked a bit more but we couldn't find our server. After a while of waiting for the bill, we ended up going to the front to the hostess. I first found out about Meyhouse from our former Yelp CM Emma, so it seemed fitting to try it out with new and old friends I have met through Yelp over the years. Thanks to Cheryl, she arranged an evening for 8 of us, Yelpers like Hazel, my husband and I, George F., Steve T. and their wives for a night of great food along with an entertaining Marina Crouse jazz show. Doors open an hour and half before our earlier showtime, so we were able to enjoy our dinner and catch up/get to know each other before the show, while giving the performers our undivided attention when the show started. Those with tickets to the jazz show dined in a separate room where there is no bad seat in the house, even though we were lucky enough to be seated front and center. We got started with complimentary sparkling wine upon seating followed by a delicious bread and dip. Half the table did family style, while the other half ordered food for two to share. The mantu serving although smaller than other places, is flavorful and worth the price. The chilean seabass is just a tad more cooked than we were used to but still soft even if not as buttery. The tenderloin skewer was cooked to perfection and definitely lived up to its name. The lamb liver was good but will probably skip next time. The acoustics is perfect and a great way to spend a Friday evening but would love to try out their lunch menu and/or happy hour in the future. read more

Meyhouse opens in the San Ramon City Center. Grabbed lunch there earlier in the week with my wife and discovered their excellent Turkish flatbreads. One was like a kachapori with cheese and sausage. Another was a spread of thinly ground beef. Later that week Cheryl M. got together a group of Yelpers for an evening of dinner and Jazz. We ordered a table of food, everything from tomahawk steak, Chilean sea bass, chicken skewers, sweetbread, beef tongue to marinated mackeral. The food was very good but the Jazz was even better. I came here for a dinner with friends for a local double date. I was excited when the City Center added a Bay Area staple, since I'd already been to the Sunnyvale location before. I tried the chefs tasting menu in Sunnyvale and learned that I would prefer à la carte, so ordered directly off the menu this time. This SR location had a much more modern vibe to it. Since they're newly opened, they offered all guests complimentary champagne, which was a really nice touch and got the night started off right. For apps, we got the ceviche, brown butter hummus, and octopus, and honestly the apps were the highlight of the night. The hummus isn't my preferred smooth style, but it was tasty and good for sharing. Entrees were a different story. We did 4 family style dishes -- branzino, sea bass, tenderloin slices, and a tenderloin skewer: - Branzino: bland and dry, unfortunately - Sea bass: the fish was just fine, and did not enjoy the greens - Tenderloin slices: thin, dry, and bland...not for me - Tenderloin skewer: probably the best of the bunch, liked the eggplant Overall, the apps were good (not great), and entrees mostly missed the mark for us. We still had a nice time with good company, but I'd come back just for apps and drinks next time rather than a full dinner. Checked this new place out for Lunch. It's a beautiful space and I definitely want to come back for their jazz evenings. Service was friendly but forgetful. Good intentions but follow through was inconsistent (ex: as king for a refill, asking for pepper etc). The Turkish sausage flatbread was yummy! Love the flavor of the sausage and good cheese! I got the durma wrap lunch special- the lemon chicken with roasted veggies as a side. It was good but the "safe" option. Came here with some girlfriends on a Thursday night and was pleasantly greeted by the hostess with complimentary sparkling wine. The decor was nice and there is a beautiful sitting area in the front of the resturant. We asked our server for recommendations from the menu and he suggested their most popular dishes. We ordred several of them and they were all very good. For the main entree, I really like the chicken kabob. It did come out a bit late but the meat was very tender and flavorful. At first I just walked past this spot and had to do a double take because the decor caught my eye. The interior immediately stood out. it's modern and inviting with lots of natural light, comfortable seating, warm wood tones, and plenty of greenery that makes the space feel calm and relaxing. We were looking for a new venue and my. wife found Meyhouse. She was intrigued by the international comedy show and the Greek food, so she made reservations at the San Ramon location. Upon arrival, we were escorted to a separate area and offered a complimentary sparkling wine, which was a great start to the evening. We were seated right in the front near a small stage decorated with a piano and flowers. The entire setup was elegant. Our waiter was excellent. He thoroughly explained the menu and recommended we try the Chef's Tasting Menu. It was the perfect choice for us since we are not very familiar with Greek food. Every single dish was excellent, arriving as a series of small, delicious plates. I also tried the Raki spirit, which has a distinct hint of licorice flavor that I really enjoyed. Meyhouse at Bishop Ranch delivered one of the most enjoyable lunches we've had in the East Bay. The menu showcases Turkish cuisine with authentic flavors, thoughtful preparation, and high-quality ingredients. We shared the Lahmacun to start, followed by the Spicy Lamb Kebab and the Aleppo Chicken. Each dish was beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with precision. The lamb was exceptionally tender, while the Aleppo Chicken was juicy with just the right balance of spice. Even the sparkling water service reflected the restaurant's attention to detail. Their lunch menu offers authentic plates of Turkish cuisine at a great value, and we started with the Lahmacun, a thin flatbread topped with ground spiced lamb/beef, served with sliced tomatoes, sumac onion, and lemon on the side. Their Tabak Plates came with a choice of protein and sides, and we had the Grilled Branzino Filet, featuring flavorful, crispy skin; Kofte (ground beef meatballs); Spicy Lamb Kebab served on thin, chewy flatbread; and Aegean Chicken (boneless thigh marinated with lemon-oregano). The sides included white rice, green salad, piyaz (white bean) salad, yogurt, and roasted vegetables (zucchini, onions, peppers, garlic). We had the Chilean sea bass, ribeye and lamb chops for the main dishes. For appetizers, we tried the octopus, eggplant with yogurt, Turkish dumpling and shrimp with peppers. They were also delicious. Every bite was a delight, bursting with flavor. Our servers, Leon and Fuat, were friendly, and patient with our many requests and questions. I didn't get the name of the server who brought all the dishes, but he was also efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our food. The kitchen was well staffed. I don't recommend Meyhouse. The food is mediocre and overpriced and the service and ambience don't justify their prices. Came here for the first time on a Sunday night. The restaurant was mostly empty which was a bad sign for a new restaurant. We should have left right then and there. The appetizers weren't bad but generally drenched in oil. I got the pink grouper skewer as an entree. It was 4 small pieces or so of grouper and some veggies and a salad for around $50. Again swimming in oil. The grouper texture range from mushy and soft (it was marinated) to hard and stringy. The salad had way too much salt and lemon so we had to complain so they would remake it. And the grouper didn't even come on a skewer. Service was ok but not particularly attentive or professional. Prices for what you get are pretty outrageous. 3 appetizers, 1 entree, 2 bottles beers and 1 glass of wine came to $190 with tip. They add on a 4% living wage surcharge which is totally dishonest given the elevated prices and how new the restaurant is. They should have figured out how to build it into their menu prices. Instead everything is just 4% more expensive than listed. read more

OMG! This place is my new favorite spot in San Ramon! The barkeep Keila is the best! She's very attentive, provides top notch service and knows how to blend drinks very well! I love the dishes at happy hour here, which by the way is 7 days a week from 4pm to 6pm. If you come here, I recommend the köpoğlu, which is eggplant with yogurt peppers and tomato sauce! We were excited to try a new addition at City Center SR. This location has been under construction for a bit. They have a couple of other locations in the Bay Area, so was hoping for a great meal. The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was fantastic. They have so many meze options, make sure you bring a larger group so that you can order many of them! We only went with two adults so there were only so many we could try. We're big fans, and we'll bring more people with us the next time! They take reservations over OpenTable so I suggest that you make reservations ahead of time. They also have outdoor seating but if a cooler evening it might be too cold for your liking! read more
