Service was very good, our waitress was very friendly and helpful when inquiring about GF options (we have family members with gluten allergies so it can make things complicated). We weren't out for a super expensive dinner and everyone wanted something different Pizza: The pizzas are excellent, yes even the GF crust. Sushi: had two specialty rolls, one we have never tried and it was fresh and very tasty Lobster Mac and Cheese: GF pasta and again it was delicious. After leaving the first review, the manager (Matthew) reached out to talk to me about the experience. I appreciated that, as most places wouldn't make the effort. He invited us back out to give the restaurant another shot - and we are so glad he did! We weren't sure what to expect for the second time, and to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Every single part of the experience was phenomenal. We tried a new appetizer (I can't remember the name but it was a crab appetizer). The crab was fresh and overall, delish. We ordered the Hairy Chinn sushi again, as we did love that the first time. We both got cocktails from their menu, and they were both so unique and refreshing (we even ordered a second round!). I tried a chef special, which was the Picanha & Charred Scallion. When I tell you, it was absolutely perfect! Everything, even down to the olive oil mixture was tasty. My fiancé ordered the crab cakes and he raved about them as well! We ordered a side of Candied Brussels sprouts - and they were easily the best Brussels sprouts we've ever tried. We couldn't resist dessert and got the crème brûlée. We loved every bit! The service was 10/10, and our server was great. She was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu well! Valet parking moved much quicker, and you can't beat the beautiful view of the boats and the water. Chesapeake City is a beautiful place to be on a warm spring day right out of the colder winter. Sunny skies, cool breeze, functional patio and an active marina. A mid-Atlantic charm that simply can't be beat. It was Good Friday and my birthday weekend. Two holidays that I hold in high regards and are somewhat at odds with each other in how to celebrate. The place was popping off with young adults partying. For some, it might not be their vibe. I was totally okay with this. I went to Delaware and felt at home. I was not the holiest this Good Friday and did not put forth my greatest effort to fast and pray and all that. My Chesapeake inn experience reflected my behavior. We reserved a table for ten about a week prior and the place was packed. Certainly, consider calling ahead if you wish to be on the patio. Large parties will be seated on benches. There is a retractable canopy for inclement weather. The food was fine. A little on the expensive side but the view was worth it. The sushi roll was surprisingly delicious. I think it was my favorite few bites of the day. Not fishy at all, light. There was a gentle tug of the seaweed and that gelatinous satisfaction of a perfect sticky rice. The wings were tender and large. The sauce was an ideal buffalo sauce. Crispy with some of the sauce baked on. Simply, a good example of a classic wing. Cheesesteak eggrolls were fine. The most distinct thing about them was the texture of the fried wrapping. Chewy and crispy. The filling was a little heavy but didn't really have a distinct flavor. The texture of the wrapping was more satisfying than the texture of the meaty bits. Might be good for toddlers. The crabby patty was good. Cooked medium-well. There was a distinct surprising char flavor to these burgers that I tasted. Not sure if they have a charcoal grill back in the kitchen. Pretty yummy. The service was exceedingly horrible. We were seated at a table for 8 rather than 10. No big deal. We asked for two chairs. Waited 10 minutes. Nothing. Asked again. Waited 10 minutes. Nothing. No big deal. We took two chairs from another table. We got the wings. Finger food and pretty saucy. We asked for napkins for the table. We received 4 napkins for our table of 10. Asked again. We received another 4 napkins. (See where I'm going with this) We asked for water. We had 10 empty glasses and 1 pitcher that was filled on request every ten minutes. I could get over all of that stuff to be honest. My family is crafty. We figure things out and can do it ourselves. My family has been in the food service industry and the place was super busy. No big deal if the team is overwhelmed. The worst thing about all of this though is the look our server would give us. I can only explain it as the look you would give to a pen of pigs that were consuming a cow carcass. Killed the vibe. To top it all off, they got my family with the group service fee. When we got the tablet, we were presented a bill for $500-something dollars. We were presented with a spread of additional 5,7, and 9% tip. My father was confused. He asked our server how to give the industry standard 20% tip. The server happily instructed on how to operate the device without disclosing the fact that he was putting an extra 20% on a 18% tip. I found this unethical. I had a great time today despite my disappointment. I might be upset if I paid, though. I Might be back for festivities but not for the dining. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Chesapeake Inn Restaurant this past Saturday night, and we had a nice meal. The menu has a lot of things I wanted to try, but I let my husband do the ordering for a change/for fun. We shared: burrata and honeycomb (with burrata, honeycomb, rosemary crostini, and parma prosciutto); crab au gratin (lump crab meat, gruyere, fontina, gouda, scallions, toasted ciabatta bread, and crudité); fusili (house-made pasta sauteed with garlic, olive oil, jumbo shrimp, scallops, lump crab, and creamy crab aurora sauce); and Maryland catfish (cornmeal crust, corn puree, tarragon-buttermilk emulsion, pea tendrils, and pickled heirloom tomato). It was way too much food, and he didn't order a single vegetable, but most of the food was quite good. We also had one drink each (I had a glass of wine and he had a beer). The atmosphere is great - we sat in the bar area and had a view of a party happening on the patio and the water beyond. And the service was great; our server Sarah was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that all the food my ridiculous husband ordered came to the table at once, and there was no room on the quite small bar table! I wish they had coursed it out a bit, so we would have been more comfortable and had space on the table (I had to put my water glass and wine glass on the windowsill in order to be able to reach plates). I really enjoyed my visit. The venue is huge and sits right on the water. Boats can dock and receive service which is cool. Our waiter Maddy was great! I'll give the food a 7/10. There were so many options to choose from. The Dragon roll stole the show. The patron flight was really good. The Crabcakes were flavorful as well as the crab fries. I wasn't a fan of the Rangoon. They have live music starting around 4pm. You can also take the souvenir cup with your drink and walk throughout the city. I'll definitely. W back before summer ends. read more

Took my family for the Father's Day buffet and actually was very disappointed. Our server was excellent however all of the hot food was barely like warm, a year ago at the buffet soup as well fresh fruit salad and rolls were available this year they weren't part of the menu. The salmon was over cooked with a lemon sauce to moisten it but it didn't. 4 adults and 2 children over 300.00 with no alcoholic drinks. There was a special on steam pots on the night we visited, though I imagine the nightly specials may change from time to time. I ordered the Perfect 10 (filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce) and crab cake. Filet was cooked as requested and crab cake was clean and meaty. I then turned my attention to my wife's soft shell crab pasta. Nice flavor, huge soft shell crabs. They offer sushi as well. This is a small town and this particular restaurant feels like the centerpiece of entertainment and dining here, so we naturally chose this over another waterfront dining option. Lunch at The Deck was pretty cool. It was nice being by the water and there was good covering so we were not directly in the sun. As for the food, nothing remarkable really to speak of. I had the crab bisque and while it offered a decent portion of crab, it felt a bit high in sodium. My husband ordered the oysters and those were the opposite for him - flavorless and lacking in seasoning. He preferred the Old Bay wings he received, but I don't think he was overly impressed with either of the food choices he made. I enjoyed my shrimp and spinach salad, just wish it had more shrimp. Our waitress was good. She told us about the menu items we asked about and recommended some things. The Mango bucket drink was a good recommendation as it was actually quite good. Overall, I would try another spot. There seem to be one or two places nearby that aren't as popular but equally as good. read more

A splendid delight by the bay. If you're lucky enough to get a seat by the marina-facing window, you'll be treated to picturesque views of boats floating in the waterway known as Back Creek. When first arriving, you can pull right up front and use the convenient valet service. In fact, it's almost a must, since on-site parking is extremely limited. Once inside, you're greeted by a bright spacious dining room with walls teeming with various nautically themed adornments. Very nice seaside aesthetic overall. Everyone was a fan of their food. Starting with a big bowl of crab bisque with big meaty chunks of fresh crab and a healthy sprinkle of Old Bay style seasoning is arguably the best way to kick things off. We also just had to get the fried green tomato starter topped with a vibrant creamy remoulade. Great tartness to the tomatoes, each one encased in just the right amount of crispy fried batter. Now, whenever I go out to eat and see cioppino on the menu, there's a good chance I just put blinders on, ignore the rest of the menu, and make up my mind right then and there. And if that cioppino just so happens to be a scampi-esque variation with garlic buttery broth and linguine noodles, then I'm sold and there's absolutely no going back. The two robust pieces of bread to sop up every last drop of buttery goodness was certainly a nice touch. The food isn't just good, it looks stunning as well. Each plate has it's own sense of beauty, with each ingredient picked perhaps not just for flavor, but for overall aesthetic. I mean, the flavor was great of course, but for instance the salmon and grits, topped with this eye-popping roasted chili relish was a sight to behold. Maybe the only one criticism I have is the jumbo lump crab cake didn't really look like it had jumbo lump crab meat. Like I'm pretty sure the bisque had bigger lumps of crab. When you're in Maryland, there should be no doubt. It almost looked like, dare I say, backfin? If so then that's one heckuva bamboozling! Delightful place overall with fun little quirks like surprise birthday desserts with sparklers shooting their munitions high into the air. The dining room was bright and upbeat, service attentive, and what could have been a messy parking situation handled by an acceptably reliable valet service. If I'm ever down this way again, a return trip is definitely in the cards. read more

A friend and I had dinner on the Chesapeake Inn deck, seated at a high-top table near the hostess stand at approximately 9:00 p.m. Around 10:30 p.m., we went closer to the live band and observed two parents with a young toddler, estimated to be 1-2 years old. The parents were holding the child while dancing among other adults who were consuming alcoholic beverages near the loud live band. At approximately 10:45 p.m., I asked one of the security personnel whether it was permissible for a young child to remain in that area. The security staff member advised that it was allowed, but that the child would need to leave the premises after 11:00 p.m. When the band finished around 11:00 p.m., the parents and toddler remained on the deck while the adults continued consuming alcoholic beverages. Afterward, I contacted Chesapeake Inn management by email. Management responded that they have established an operational policy of transitioning the deck to a 21-and-over area after 10:00 p.m., unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, particularly when entertainment shifts to a more adult nightlife atmosphere. Based on my observations, this operational policy did not appear to be enforced. While I understand the establishment operates as a restaurant, it is unclear how management monitors compliance with its own policy regarding minors on the deck during late-night entertainment. If responsibility is delegated to security personnel, my interaction suggested there was little concern about the presence of a very young child in that environment. read more

The bartender, Cat, made me one of the best Palomas I've had in a while, and the conversation was just as good as the drink. Even with the rain, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Not a good face for the brand. Second of all the other bar tender was rude and pushy. My only complaint or issue- the ladies room needs to have the drains flushed out of something. Something smells bad in there and it is t a fleeting odor. It's there every time we visit. They need a terminal cleaning of the drains and around the toilets to get rid of that problem. Otherwise- I highly recommend this restaurant. This is one of my favorite places to go due to its location. The ambience is great with boats in and out of the marina that the restaurant is next to . The food is good not amazing but there's a decent selection of seafood and American fair along with sushi. If you're used to a typical bar restaurant service then you'll kind of know what to expect. Lots of younger waitresses some very good some not so good. The inside restaurant is very nice and has a different menu. I'd say both are worth visiting. read more

Clear blue skies, fresh air, and nice views made this a prime dining spot for a late afternoon lunch. I'm upping my rating by a star, because our food was substantially better than my prior visit several years ago. We ordered a number of things including Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips, Tuna Poke Bowl, Bohemia (sushi), Pork pot stickers and Pear and Chicken Salad. The fish and Chips were heads and tails better than before. Everything was great. We just didn't care for the pear and chicken salad. It's probably a preference thing, but the combination didn't go together very well. With the limited dining options in this area, especially ones with a view, I'm sure I'll be back again. This place is always the place to be on summer Saturday with perfect weather. We generally opt for the tables in the bar area since we never have a wait.....great views from any seat in this area and service is great. We had a white pizza and sushi and both were very good. For apps we had the truffle fries and a cup of cream of crab-----compared to any of the other restaurants in the area who serve cream of crab, this place has the best! Last weekend my husband and I had Lunch here and it was so delightful. The place was busy, but we had no wait time for a table. We scored a shaded outside table facing the marina/canal.
