I was very disappointed with my first experience. I got the ribeye, whiped mashed potatoes wild mushrooms and chocolate lava cake. For a $63 dollar ribeye one would expect it to be grilled but it's pan seard then finished on the grill. Not at all what I was expecting it tast like it was just pan seared. One of the worst steaks Iv had for that price. The mash potatoes tastes rancid and the $19 chocolate lava cake was clearly not made in house. It tasted like it came out of a box. The wild mushrooms were not well seasoned either with that being said they were the best thing I ordered. I wouldn't recommend nor will I be ordering from them again. Honestly, I'm having trouble figuring out why this restaurant is getting as many negative reviews as they are. Though it does have some problems, the place is well above average for it's food and drink. Let's start with the bad just to get it out of the way. Firstly, be prepared for slow and inconsistent service and you won't be disappointed. For our large party of 10, we ordered probably close to 8 appetizers to split among us and rather then coming out at once, we were given them it seems whenever they were ready and not as a cohesive set. This ordinarily wouldn't be as big as a problem as it seems but when 10 people are splitting a plate at a time, you tend to be quite a bit hungrier then you should be. Also if you advertise something as tableside guacamole, please be sure to not forget about us and ACTUALLY make it tableside for us like you did for everyone else in the restaurant as opposed to just plopping down a 20 pound mortar (no joke on the weight). Also at times it seemed like we had to beg the staff to come take our drink orders and half the time the wait staff did not speak enough English to understand what we were trying to order. However it is the food that earns this place its' chops, no pun intended. Across the board, the food was outstanding with a special notice to the quality and cookery of the steaks. Some highlights included: Guacamole: Yeah it was not done tableside but overall had a really nice flavor and consistency. Brisket Eggrolls: Not greasy at all. A nice crunchy bite with flavorful filling and a spicy mayo that adds a bit of creaminess to the dish after dipping. Charcuterie Board: A nice collection of different meats and preparation styles that really worked well together. Special shoutout the lamb belly and the thinly sliced pastrami that melted in your mouth. Delmonico Steak: Not my choice, but received rave reviews from everyone who ordered it. From the one bite I had, the crust on the steak was nice and crispy and the inside meat was tender with just enough fat to coat the palate. Tomahawk Chop: The special of the evening and boy was this a surprise. The GIANT 22oz cut was cooked perfectly on the bone and was super moist and tender. The bone itself provides for a great instagram photo afterwards and the plate is a showstopper for anyone else in the restaurant who takes a look. Peanut Butter Saucer: Listed as a brownie on the menu but the chef gave it some cosmetic changes. If you DO NOT like Peanut Butter stay far away as this is an indulgence of the highest degree. However for those peanut butter lovers, dig right in. Also big props to the large Belgium Beer menu (with duval on tap). Makes for a great pairing with any of the steaks. read more

A solid 3.5.... A late reservation for my first time here, I was joined by 2 regulars, who happen to dine here on the regular, so my expectations bar was set nominally higher than usual. The staff here was very warm, welcoming and accomodating. Melody was our person for the night and I think every retaurant should have a Melody lol But I digress and move onto the food! 20+ dishes ordered to try. Lots of hits, some very surprising hits, and several not so good hits. My rule of thumb, when it's my first time, is order the entire apps selections, even the special ones for the evening, especially at a steakhouse. The stars of the evening: Tableside made Guacomole: super fresh ingredients, made a la minute is key for this and it was exactly that. Duck Eggrolls: surprisingly light and delicate and a nice rich texture to the duck meat. Braised Short Ribs: Melt in your mouth awesomeness. My test for this is going for the fattiest piece on the plate, a proper braised short rib's fat will literally melt in your mouth and not get stuck inbtwn your teeth like gristle. Sweetbreads: ok serously, what's with the corn in this dish ppl? Why do most restaurant's add the corn?? Is it for color? I don't get it! Regardless, this was a huge hit at our table which says a lot since 2:3 normally aren't sweetbread fans. House Cured Beef Jerky: flavor was spot on, I liked that it was heavy on the cumin. It reminded me more of a South African biltong than it did the traditional bone dry jerky known in the states, though it did have a nice bite. Beef Sliders: though the beef patty was too well done for my taste, it was actually still quite surprisingly juicy, which is hard to do when they are that tiny Tableside made Steak Tartare: nice balance of tart, richness and creaminess. For our entree we had a family style meat sampler accompanied by 4 veggie sides of sautéed spinach, a broccoli, a mushroom medley and a veg Israeli cous cous...the family style platter included their signature dry aged Tomahawk, Dry aged prime, Long bone veal chop and a steak the call Suprise, pronounced sooprees. Usually in my experiencr, veal chops are manhandled and cooked to death, this one was done to a perfect medium rare which kept all the juices intact. The standout for me was the dry aged prime, then the Tomahawk, the surprise was just Ok. But by far, their meats were the best I've had in a long time. Desserts again all looked beautiful but out of 9 served 5 were great: chocolate mousse, chocolate lava cake, lemon merengue pie, housemade passion fruit sorbet and coconut sorbet. I have to equally mention the uglies of the evening: Beef Ravioli with a butternut sauce...pasta was way undercooked and filing and sauce did not compliment eachother. Salmon Tartare: when you mash up fresh salmon to a pulp and then place it on top of guacomole of the same consistency, mouthfeel is not pleasant nor appetizing. Salmon Ceviche and Salmon Flautas combo: the ceviche was actually quite nice. Refreshing and bright in flavor and seasoning. But the accompanied fried flautas were all wrong. Salmon was incredible fishy and nothing meshed inside the half soggy/half hard as a rock corn tortilla shell. Moroccan Chili: no body to the dish. Flavors were muddy and not seasoned at all. Special platter of the evening: meatballs were not moist but crumbly in texture, the chicken empanada: filling to the encasing dough ratio was off, the grilled shisito pepers were great though. The Flan and Creme Brulee: way too much starch in both. Not sure what they are using to bind them but it was a way too heavy handed. Both are light airy custard dishes, well the air was beaten out of them both. Apple tart: just Ok. Nothing stood out flavor wise, you almost forgot it was apple. Pecan pie: again a miss. The brown sugar filling was extremely gummy in texture and clawingly sweet that we took turns taking a bit of the vanilla ice cream to counter it. So back to customer service...the restaurant staff being attentive and at the ready should happen without saying, and this component is definitely present here. But when a customer constructively tells their server a dish doesn't work OR if the server sees that the dish was barely touched and asks said diner was anything wrong and what they could do to improve the dish, a f/u up of sort should happen imo. I think taking back the dish and not charging the diner is appropriate, of course within reason that is. There are several reasons why I have my staple go to's for upscale dining...it's not about getting freebies, but just making the gesture of showing your clientele a bit if appreciation is all it takes to have a loyal consistent following. It doesn't cost the restaurant much to comp an app or dessert or drink or two in the grand scheme. Sadly Prime Bistro falls short in this department. Very tasty fresh baked bread served with olive oil poured by our waiter) wish he had come and offered us more) Kids menu too We ordered a fillet , burgers and teriyaki salmon plus a side of creamed spinach was ok. I went to the restaurant after work for a seminar. I was ignored by the waiters, they only went to those who were Jewish, white and Asian. The food was good but those of us of color were stared at horribly with disgust as we left the restaurant. They stopped eating, talked and just stared with frowns as we exited. I just want to preface this review by saying my family isn't really picky when it comes to food service. We've all had & have jobs in the biz so we understand that restaurants are busy & stressful places & waitstaff//kitchen folks deal with plenty of a**holes. There were issues with our dinner at Prime that stood out as more than just an "off-night." My family and I have passed by Bistro on our way home numerous times and always wanted to give it a try; the exterior is eye-catching & standouts in the neighborhood. When we looked up the menu saw an eclectic but upscale menu and made a reservation. While the food is good (even great at points) the service was truly, truly horrendous. Seriously, they've got 5 star food but 0 star service so dine here at your own risk. We made a reservation for 7:30 and arrived on the dot; unfortunately, it seemed there may have been a miscommunication as the maître d' asked us to confirm and restate the reservation name & party number several times. We waited at the bar for about 10 minutes and they tried to seat us...for the first time. We got about half way to a table when the waiter told us there had been a mistake and sent us back to the bar. The maître d' apologized then came back about 5 minutes later to reseat us at another table. Upon arriving at the 2nd table a waiter began seating another party and the maître d' turned us around again. Two minutes later he returns to reseat us at the same table after making the other party move. Approximately 45 seconds after being handed a 50+ item menu, a waiter arrived to take our drink and appetizer order. We told him we had just been seated and needed a little more time to look through things. He said ok, walked away and was literally never seen again. (Not kidding, we had about 6 servers throughout the night...I don't think we saw the same guy twice). A busboy came over and asked if we'd like sparkling or flat water, we asked for flat. Then another busser came 20 seconds later and asked us the same thing. A third busser brings us water, bread, and olive oil for dipping. Both bread & oil are delicious!! The oil is seasoned with garlic and rosemary, salt and pepper. Bread is soft and warm. Maybe 5 minutes later, a new waiter comes to take our drink order. Another waiter brings the drinks and takes our order...we get the table-side guacamole, 2 ribeyes, a petit filet, and a side of broccoli, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato fries. The drinks come fairly quickly, the guacamole is prepared in an impressively large mortar and served with slightly stale tortilla chips (the only food faux pas of the night). The guac is great and only required a little additional of salt (which I'd rather get to add myself anyway). When dinner arrives everything is well presented, hot, and comes out together. My steak is cooked to perfection (I like my steak *very* rare & occasionally kitchens won't respect my order of "as a rare as possible." I'm happy to report Prime exceeded this expectation greatly & made my steak exactly how I wanted it.) The sides were also delicious & we even got an extra side-dish of mixed veg we hadn't ordered. We told the waiter & he told us to keep it. It was added to our bill -__- Unfortunately, no waiter returned to check on us during the meal so we had to flag one down to get a beer. We ordered a Coors Light with 3/4 of a steak left, hoping it would arrive to pair with the rest of the meal. No beer arrived. Our plates were cleared, leftovers wrapped up and desert menus delivered when the waiter finally came back with the Coors Light looking satisfied with having remembered about 15 minutes too late. We skipped dessert and left a $50 tip on the $235 bill. Hopefully, the six waiters we had didn't mind splitting. We won't be going back. read more

Came with a couple of friends and they served are food at 10pm although we where seated at 8pm. After being ignored time after time we were finally apologized too and told they were having a busy night. Fast forward a week later and I decide to give this place another try with family. We set reservations for 8 pm, arrived early and seated about 30 min late. After we sit and order we where served 3 of 5 courses food about an hour and half later!! The waiter than says the pizza oven is broken and they can't make the other 2 meals. We call the owner over and tell him the situation and he says the same classic excuse of it being a busy night. I than tell him this is the second time this has occurred and why do you seat people if you can't serve them. His answer back was "THIS IS MY RESTAURANT" with a disgusting attitude. Don't believe the BS reply he writes to all his negative Yelp reviews because this restaurant deserves a one star and he doesn't give a sh*t about his customers. Most entrees cost above $50 and I can confidently say their mediocre dessert was the best part of my meal. Plus most of their selfish untrained staff either have no mask or have their mask below their mouth (as seen in picture). With our dessert we ordered tea and the waiter walked right up to our table no mask on whatsoever with his mouth right over the tea cups. We started with a sampler appetizer, everything in it was yummy, but only came with 3 of each item so we split everything up to feed our group of 6. My brothers steak was ordered medium and it came out perfect. My mom enjoyed the salmon and said it was very good. The French fries were shoestring, my favorite. The brisket sandwich looked so good. It was strange that the bar tender was not at his job when the restaurant was open. The rib dish was pretty good, but the cranberry sauce didnt go with it and seemed out of place. Empanadas are more like pot pies with no sauce. I had ordered a medium rare burger and received it as medium to well-done. The burger had no sauce and had no flavor and did not even have pickles (I dont know if we had to ask for them but pickles are standard even in McDonalds). It was my sisters birthday and we went here since it was a new restaurant in town. The inside is very elegant and everything you would expect from a fine dining establishment. White table clothes, fancy napkin folds, and displays of wine bottles. Me and my family sat down and they handed us menus and filled up our glasses with water. This was where we ran into the first problem. The water had a horrible odor and taste. I know it was tap water but I have never had tap water that bad. They also gave us a basket of warm bread and olive oil for dipping. I feel as though they should have added some cracked black pepper, garlic, and herbs to the bland oil. I looked over the menu and their meat selection was not very big considering it was a steak house. They had a chose of I think about 3 steaks and only one burger. I understand this is a fancy upscale place but $16 dollars for a kids meal that comes with a handful of fries and some chicken tenders is just crazy. We sat there for about 15 minutes before the waiter came to take our order (Although my father seems to think that it was closer to 30 minutes that we waited). I opted for the bistro burger which was $19. Before I get into how the burger was I have to talk about the service. While our waiter was talking to other table I noticed the check holder was stuffed down his backside into his pants. I find it revolting when waiters do this. It is highly unsanitary. I do not want a check holder that has been near the waiters butt now infested with who knows what. We were very neglected throughout our whole dining experience by our waiter. The service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was less than half full. Okay back to the burger. I ordered it medium which means it should be a little pink in the center when I cut my burger in half it was raw and I don't mean just a little raw the cow was still mooing. Steak I like to eat rare and still a little cold in the center but hamburgers I do not like raw. On top of how raw the burger was it was also very lack luster in flavor. If they would have just thrown some salt and pepper on it maybe it would have been better. The burger came with shredded lettuce , red onion, a tomato, and a side of fries. While it was a big heaping pile of somewhat tasty fries many of them were soggy. I tried a piece of my sisters "sirloin" thinking okay this should be good since this is a steak house. I was mistaken. The meat was very under seasoned and I was chewing this one small piece for about 45 seconds before I could finally swallow it. Tender? I think not. After we were all done with our meal the waiter quickly came over dropped some dessert menus on the table and disappeared for another 15 minutes. He never even asked if we wanted desserts. (which we didn't) Finally we flagged him down , paid the bill, and left. This was the worst service I think I have ever received in a restaurant and that is a strong statement. I love my coworkers but this was just ridiculous. Also, 90% of our office is comprised of Orthodox Jews and this is a kosher place- couldn't you have had the foresight to seat us a little bit apart for personal and religious reasons? Fack. Service was touch and go- our hostess was wonderful and she told us her recommendations but one of the waiters was severely rude to our table and kept asking one of our guests if they were done with their food while said person was still obviously eating. Dude, what is your problem?! The steaks were delicious though but I don't recommend any of the desserts they had on the menu. On the plus side, the food was delicious. On the downside, the service was abysmal. We were a a party of 6, which at this restaurant means that 18% gratuity is built in. And we were ignored while all the tables with fewer than 6 people got fantastic service. Groups of 4 or 5 got 3 course meals in a fraction of the time it took for us. We ordered 4 appetizers that came out 10 minutes apart. Four out of six entrees came out at once. The fifth had the wrong order, and the six came shortly after.
