Arrived at around 7.30pm and was happy that Prime Bistro provided valet parking. on entering the restauraunt our greeter was extremely courteous and give us a table that we chose although the place was crowded. Our servers though friendly kind of rushed us through with the menu and with our order. We ordered Prime Rib for 2 and it was good, it came with fries which we enjoyed. Both food and service is okay but for the five town area this restaurant is way over priced and that's the only reason I gave them 3 star. read more

I went to Prime Bistro last night with my friends. We had a waiter we couldn't understand, we think he said there was no difference between the filet and rib steak. I wanted a well done steak so I chose the filet. It came our rare, I hated sending it back because i waited over an hour for it. I sent it back in the end. When it came time to pay, part of why we went to Prime in the first place was that one of my friends gave me a gift certificate. The only problem is is that they don't want to honor them. NEVER BUY A GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM THIs PLACE it was a nightmare to redeem. They claim they couldn't redeem it because they have a new system that was told to us after waiting 15 minutes for them to return my credit card in order to pay the balance. BTW I SPENT MORE THAn THE AMOUNT OF THE CERTIFICATE. They basically held me hostage, at one point the manger /owner said "how about you pay the whole bill and bring back the certificate another day" ha another day, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! There aren't that many Steak places in the Five Towns area and for a steak place they really don't offer that many choices for steaks. The specials were double the price of a regular dinner which is absurd and should be priced more reasonable. The waitress only came by to take initial order and didnt even serve the dinner when they came out, and the server didn't even know who was supposed to get what dish. which the waitress should know and oversee even if she wasn't serving. When reciting the specials it seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. If you are trying to be high end steak place then offer a better variety of steaks and cuts with better side options not just the fried onion strings. The wait staff were in a rush to clean and seem ed like they wanted us to leave so they could clean the table. The waitress walked by quickly to "see if everything was alright'" it was more like walked by fast to check to see if we were still there. You might want to bring down your prices and improve the customer service, and for fine dinning the flat ware and plates were regular commercial plates that diners serve their food on. If you want to charge fine dinning prices then serve the food on more upscale dinner ware and please clean your flatware better. read more

My server Lukas was very courteous and recommended their Philadelphia burger. I got the food before I was done with my drink made by the bartender (makes a mean old fashioned by the way!). The burger was amazing so juicy and definitely tantalising. I can even go as far as to say this is by far the Best burger In town or even more confidently in Long Island. Great music and aura. Took a chance on a last minute gamble for a birthday dinner. Food was delicious but overpriced and food took entirely too long to come out as well as questionable sanitary conditions. otherwise a birthday celebration is good here except the birthday dessert wasn't to our preference would've been nice if it was something we like. Our "hostess" was sweet as pie but was definitely teamdotoomuch for us (overly talkative and loud) Wanted simplicity yet superb customer service. I had a reservation for eight people for 7:00 pm New Year's Eve. At 8:10, I was eating my cold prime rib steak with cold sauce when the waiter asked if we were ready to order dessert. I was the last one still eating since I had to trim all the fat from the steak. We said no since we were going to my house for cake, dessert, and champagne. The waiter walked away. He returned to inform us that we had to finish right away since they had to get the room ready. They'd placed us in a back room where there were empty tables. No one was waiting. The Maitre D and the waiters pointed at me. He walked over and said we had to leave in five minutes. I left the rest of my steak and gave my mashed potatoes to be wrapped. On the way out, I told the Matre D that he lost 8 people as potential customers. He shooed me away with his hand and said he gave me five minutes. He then ignored me and made puppet motions with his hand as a way to mimic me. We spent hundreds of dollars and were treated poorly. The Matre D lacks any class or manners. I will never go back to this restaurant and neither will my friends. I'd leave zero stars if that was an option. read more

My wife, her aunt, cousin and I had dinner at Prime Bistro tonight. The food was very pedestrian. I had a sweetbreads appetizer that had 2 1/2 sweetbreads in it for $14. They wouldn't split the Caeser salad that our aunt wanted to share with her daughter. My wife's guacamole was good. Our main dishes were disappointing. My steak sandwich had a few small strips of steak in a mustard sauce that overwhelmed any steak taste that those tiny pieces could have had. My wife's hamburger was tasteless. The service was excellent. However, the food is incredibly overpriced and not good. Kudos to Melanie, the hostess who did a wonderful job introducing desserts and making conversation. If the kitchen was as good as the wait staff with reasonable prices they could have a decent restaurant. But we won't return. read more

Wish I could give this place a negative star. I went 3 times (don't ask me why) & this is what we experienced. 1- maitre d is obnoxious and unless you're a "regular" she keeps you waiting forever even if you have a reservation. 2- waiters are very gruff and very unhelpful, some even downright rude. Had to beg for bread until I got a few slices (bread was actually quite good) and beg to get served. As soon as we finished the bill was presented even though we isn't ask for it. (I guess a regular was waiting) lots of eye rolling by owner and staff. 3- music is deafening and we had to shout in order to carry a conversation, no idea why. 4- food is mediocre at best, except for the guacamole that's prepared right in front of you. We went out for dinner for my dad's birthday. The kitchen forgot our order and after waiting over an hour from when we finished our appetizers and complaining the waitress came over with a phone saying it was the owner. He told us that Sunday is a busy night and next time we should go to a different restaurant if we aren't happy. The owner was downstairs the whole time and couldn't even come face to face with a customer. Food was delicious but terrible customer service managed to ruin the night. THIS PLACE WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO STAY OPEN IF HAD TO COMPETE WITH REAL STEAKHOUSES! Everything about my experience at this place was horrific. After making a reservation well in advance we were showed to a strewn together table right by the registers and place were they dump the dirty dishes. It took them 15 minutes to fill our glasses with water and if only we had known it would be the only time we would have been more frugal with how much we drank. We then ordered drinks in which the "waiter' only remembered four out of six and we didn't see the other drinks until after we asked again when the main dish arrived. It took us flagging down the waiter after 45 minutes for them to take our food order and another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. When the food did arrive it was cold and disgusting. When complaining to the man who claimed to be the owner about the state of the food he lectured us on how he comes from a long line of butchers and we were wrong. All and all, the meal took three hours and was continuously surprising us with new levels rude service and horrible food. read more

Not pleasant experience...definitely not going back. I made reservations for a family celebration (8 people) for Sunday afternoon. Hostess wasn't very polite on the phone but okay...I went with it. We arrived, placed our orders, and waited...and waited...and waited -- from order to receiving appetizers was probably about 45 minutes and about another 45 minutes for entrees. Finally, one of us very politely asked the hostess about the delay and she blamed us for making a reservation between lunch and dinner. Wow. Shouldn't that have been something that is mentioned when you call to make a reservation? In fact, she went so far as to say that they were technically closed between meals even though their website clearly shows they are open on Sundays from noon through 11pm. The whole time we were there, the hostess, who was also our server, acted rudely and was very terse. Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant experience and considering that extremely high cost -- $40-50 per steak without sides -- we will be taking our business somewhere else. read more

Went here for a wedding. Staff was very accommodating. Food was good, party menu had stated Prime Rib, but it was actually a steak. It should have had a vegetable, and an option of mashed potato, fries, or onion straws. Salmon was good, less teriyaki glaze. Dessert was ok, Molten lava cake, where was the lava. Bread was hard. We had a company dinner here and had the downstairs room all to ourselves. The room was just the right size (about 17 people), very nicely put together with a wall of wine bottles, and a self serving bar in the back. Beer, wine, and vodka with juices were available at the bar. The service was good and there was always someone around when we needed them. Ice and juices for the bar were promptly refilled as needed. The appetizers were a hit as were the Caesar salads before the main courses. For main course I personally had the salmon with cabbage. Fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Others had steaks and chicken and nobody was left neither hungry nor dissatisfied. Staff was very friendly and Melody was great. Haven't been there for a regualr walk in dinner as a couple, but the company dinner was a big hit! read more

I went here with a friend even after hearing from people that the service is poor but the food is good. We got to the restaurant at 6pm on a weekday and were one of two tables occupied. Even with nobody there, the waiter forgot about the wine we ordered. Not the biggest deal in the world. The decor is very nice and the place is large. The food was okay, but for the price it should have been much better. I will share a moment that ought to disgust anyone reading this. At one point during our meal, I watched the manager walk over to two people sitting a few tables away and have a conversation with them. While talking, with her back to the table next to the seated diners, I watched the manager of this expensive restaurant sit on the table while she spoke. Yes, she sat on the table. A short while later there were actually people seated at that table eating their meal. Gross. When our meal was over, the waiter proceeded to pile up all of the plates on top of mine directly in front of me on the table. I came very close to wearing the contents of the oil dish when it started falling off of the mound the waiter had created. This is a severe breakdown in the training process. Again, for the price, this place needs to be a lot better. Still, it got pretty crowded as the evening went on. I believe this place has the potential to be great as soon as the owner/manager start caring about and valuing their customers. Appetizers were great. My wife and I had the tongue and brisket pizza. The main was so-so with the chicken (forget the name which tasted similar to what I could make at home) that would drop them to 4 stars. The restaurant is pricey ( spent over 150 but we'll get to that later) and for that amount I would hope to get attention from the waitstaff. We ran out of water and no one stopped in to check. So I asked the waiter once-she said would get it but didn't, a second time- "yes getting to it", and finally a third time we got someone else to refill. It certainly impacts the meal if you are thirsty for over 10 minutes (probably longer). That drops to 3 stars. Finally we paid. The bill was in the 130 range plus tip. Normally I tip between 15-20%. In this case due to the poor service I only tipped 15% on my credit card. Well today I check my statement and looks like the waitress figured she was due 18%. I don't care about getting the few dollars back but it's the principle. And that drops down to 2 stars. read more

Food: They've clearly learned from an older Yelp review and added herbs to the olive oil, but the bread isn't very good. Salad was adequate. Main course and sides (steak au poivre with frites and spinach, lamb shank with mashed potatoes) were excellent! We did not order dessert, but only because there was more than enough food between the salad and entrees. Value: The food is pricey, but kosher food usually is. A little less expensive than Keens/Rothman's/Peter Luger, and a step below them, but much, much closer to the South Shore. Would definitely come back. read more

I will give Bistro a mixed review; which is a shame because the food was very good. Upon arrival we were shown a table in the rear of the restaurant and then were forgotten about. After 15 minutes I flagged down the host who sent a waitress over. We ordered wine and appetizers and were served in a timely matter. About half way thru with the appetizers, a bus boy came over with the main dishes. We said we were not ready for them and he put them down on the table anyway and left. The table was small to begin with. We had to transfer the dirty bread plates etc to an empty table next to us and quickly finish our apetizers so our mains would not get cold. The entire time we were there, our waitress or the host did not return or ask us how things were. Food is only one component in the dining experieince. Service and atmoshphere count for alot too. It was my 21st birthday decided to have a glatt kosher meal, our reservation were at 9:45 we sat down ordered our food celebrating with my in-laws and my parents sister brother they were giving speeches u know how the Russians are, we got our Appetizers which wasn't bad on top of that they said the sushi guy left sorry no sushi got very upset but after we finally got our entrées around 10:45 but once it hit 11 these two waiters came to put table started saying are you guys done can i clean your plate like we just got our food not to long ago how can you tell us that like all of us say speeches one at a time like we have dessert after i never seen that ever before and also while my family were saying speeches the waiter were being very noisy yelling fork noises unbelievable bottom line they wanted us to leave at 11 i never thought a rabbi would tell us that. At reserve cut in the city Manhattan they would never start cleaning your table early make noise or telling it's getting late we need to close or interrupt us while giving a speech. They kept telling us to pay quickly because they need to close up absolutely not we are still on the table we still giving speeches we're drinking out coffee we're having our tea the waiter should not be coming up to us and telling us to pay right away, whenever we're ready to pay that's when we're ready. All I'm saying is that do not go to this restaurant there are a lot of really good kosher steakhouse like Doma land and sea reserve cut and other Glatt kosher restaurants please do not go to this one. Total dining pleasure and phenomenal food and service . Eating at prime Bistro with 5 friends for dinner on Wednesday , it was a complete pleasure from start to finish. The atmosphere is lovely and comfortable booths we were sat at the back room , our server was just amazing i was surprised when i saw him cause i remembered him from the city he got very good knowledge in wine and all the drinks he made for us was just wow very attentive and informed server . we really don't remember what we had because it was a family style the server order for us a nice platter of steaks all juicy and soft with some side dishes and everything was wow - best I've ever had - better than prime grill and prime ko or anywhere else I've ever had steaks . My friends were happy we all agreed they were the best steaks and drinks we've ever had and we were all oohing and aahing the entire time at how delicious everything was. if they keep the restaurant this high on service and delicious food they will be very successful. We are happy to have found a great place to bring our out of town guests or go with local friends when we are in the mood for some good steaks and fancy drinks and 5 stars service the drinks were so good that i suggested to the server if he can come with us in our boat and make us drinks one day lol ...well done prime Bistro! read more
