I decided to write this review in hopes that it could save somebody someday. I was a patient of Dr. Matian for years. I mentioned I had an issue with my neck for over 5 years. He would constantly tell me that there was nothing wrong everything looks and feels right even though myself and my wife used to swear we saw a lump. After five years of reporting this issue to the doctor I decided to tell his associate who also said that everything looked fine to please send me for an ultrasound. At this point I found out I had a massive tumor in my neck that after vigorous tests turned out to be cancerous. No one had ever even offered to send me for a test and I had cancer the entire time. They almost took me away from my family. I had a specific type of cancer that should only have grown the size of centimeters and yet mine was over 3 and 1/2 inches. (The size of a fist.) For some reason a miracle occurred and the cancerous tumor somehow stayed completely encapsulated and that is the only reason why I am able to write this review today. It did begin to spread but luckily another doctor was able to assist and all is clear. Everyone will always have different experiences with doctors, but unfortunately this is mine. The only positive thing that came out of this was at this point, their office worked fast to get my info over to the right surgeons of my choice in order to expedite the surgical process. Otherwise I would have had to call them 500 times in order for them to do something they say would get done by the end of the day. read more

This doctor does not know anything. Makes you wait for over an hour then when he hears your problems, he just says "It's what it is". Then he just sends you off to another doctor even know it could be taken care of by him. Or at least provide a knowledgeable advise or suggestion. I am really disappointed in this physician. I would not recommend. Maybe in 10 years he will be a more skillful doctor but as of right now, he's too amateur and inexperienced. Plus his staff don't know what they are doing and don't even extend the courtesy of letting the patients in the waiting room know when they will be seen. Its like a self service clinic. I have had nothing but an excellent experience with both Dr. Matian and his office. He has always been very kind and thorough on my 4-5 visits. He has prescribed relevant tests and his office helped me confirm my insurance for them. The girls in his office have been sweet and well informed . Sometimes it's true, they don't pick up the phone, but I just wait and call back, not a big deal... they are busy and do take walk ins that are urgent in the mornings. I made sure they accepted my Covered California insurance before I went there and have not had any issues. I have never waited more than 20 minutes , have been out in under an hour, and have always found parking on the meter right outside the door. I think some of these reviews full of complaints are fake or exaggerated. He is a good All around GP and I'm glad to have found him. read more

Most rude place ever, desk people never call back when they say they will, every appointment they saw me 30-46 min late! Doctor Matian is the rudest doctor. When I mentioned I'm frustrated with the level of unprofessional treatment, instead of apologizing he said "well, you can find another place" ! First impressions mean a lot. If I had met the doctor upon entering the office, perhaps they would have gotten more stars because Dr. Matian had a lovely bedside manner, a very comforting demeanor and seemed genuinely interested in helping his patients. That said, perhaps I came in on an off day or perhaps I just have more discerning standards for service and cleanliness than some of the other reviewers, but the front office needs some serious revamping in order to be the kind of environment I would rate highly. Upon entering (30 minutes PRIOR to my scheduled appointment), I was NOT greeted. The receptionist was doing paperwork. After a bit, she looked up and said "Do you have an appointment?" No hello, welcome, or even a smile -- just a question. I did, of course, have an appt. She asked me for my ID and insurance information and then handed me a very large, bulky computer tablet to begin filling out the new patient forms. Her explanation was as follows: "Please fill out the forms using this tablet. It works with the pen." She then handed me the pen and I went to sit down and begin filling out the required forms. HORRIBLE experience. It took nearly 20 minutes to fill out paperwork that if I had been handwriting it myself would have only taken five minutes. The pen would not "catch" the letters and numbers properly causing a very long delay and a lot of re-pushing the keys constantly. Once you've finally come to the end, there is an ad -- yes an AD -- for a prescription medication called Abilify. One needs to click through three screens to get away from the ad. I thought it was in poor taste to be trying to sell me pharmaceuticals whilst I'm simply filling out my new patient paperwork. I hadn't even SEEN a doctor and the tablet was telling me to ask my doctor about Abilify. Weird. Upon returning the tablet to the receptionist I was told to simply leave it on the counter, sit down and she would call me when the doctor was ready. At this point, it was my actual appointment time (11AM). At 11:30AM I asked her if she knew how much longer the wait would be and she explained that I was next! YAHOO!! At 11:45AM, there I sat... still waiting. So at 11:48AM, I again approached the front desk and asked if she had any idea when the doctor might be ready for me and she said "you're next. I don't know WHEN because I'm not in the back." With all due respect, after a patient has waited over 45 minutes, don't you think you should get up, GO TO THE BACK and ASK!?! So I pushed a little and explained that she had told me I was next 20 minutes before and I was getting concerned... could she please check? She begrudgingly (looking very irritated with me) got up and went to the back. 90 seconds later she returned and said it would be five more minutes. It wasn't. It was seven minutes but who is counting? :) At 11:57AM - almost an hour after my scheduled appointment -- I finally saw the doctor. He was training a new doctor on the staff how to use the computer which slowed down the process but both doctors were very attentive and kind and seemed thorough so it didn't bother me much. But given how long we waited, and how substandard the service was at the front desk, it did rub me the wrong way in the beginning. The doctor was pretty quick -- asked the appropriate questions -- performed a physical exam and made a recommendation for next steps. All fine, totally acceptable service. His doctor-in-training was also quite nice. Both were a heck of a lot friendlier and welcoming than the receptionist. Additionally, The office was a bit dirty -- windows and blinds were dusty. Floorboards were pretty dirty, dust on the reception coffee tables. It's a doctor's office so -- in my mind -- it should be a very clean and sterile environment. That said, it looked like they might be doing some light construction (or at least I'm hoping so) and if that was the case -- a sign saying "Please pardon our dust as we remodel" would have been appropriate. Finally, I had x-rays done at another facility and called the office three times to get the results of those x-rays but never received a call back. I did get a call two weeks later (after I'd seen another doctor already out of desperation) telling me I should come in for a follow up. I politely declined. And, still, no results from the x-rays. :) Oh well, onward!! read more

I was looking for a new doctor and decided to try this office due to reviews on Yelp. However, my experience with them was very negative. They made me wait for over an hour. When I finally thought the doctor had come in to see me, he was in fact coming into my room to get some supplies for another patient. He apologized for the wait, but it was really annoying. They were suppose to follow up by giving me info on my results. It took forever to get a call back from Dr. Matian. When he did call back, he failed to mention in his voice msg the precise results of my lab work. He told me to call for more info, but again it was so difficult to get ahold of him. I requested a call back from him multiple times...with no return call. I eventually gave up after awhile. I don't want my time to be wasted any more. I was very unhappy with their customer service. The staff was nice, the wait times weren't terrible. I feel like the office didn't really have my best interest at heart, however, and I felt like I was just another number in their day-to-day routine. Check-in, pay my bill, check-out. I feel like I should get a little more time and respect from someone who I am entrusting my health with. I love Dr Maitian, & the nurse practitioners, Patrick & Chelse!! They're all so very knowledgeable, listen, compassionate and kind hearted. They are lovely, talented people who make this world a better place. I have never had lead medical professionals empathize so sincerely with my health problems. I always feel as if they are tackling my problems as if it were their own. The front of the office, on the other hand, could really brush up on their customer service. With the exception of one front office staff member named Bernard. If fact he is one of the most competent, professional, and compassionate front office staff members I've had the pleasure of working with. Since no place can be perfect, it's still nice to have 4 perfect staff members, especially when 3 of them are the doctor's. :) I look forward to coming to this office. He makes sure to send you to get blood tests if needed or refers you to specialists. Finally someone who really cares. His staff is really nice too. This was one of the best experiences I've had in a long time. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a very kind young lady, Yulonda. She was quite kind. Explained the electronic sign-in procedure to me and allowed me ample time to input the information, ask whatever questions I had regarding the procedure, and proceeding to see the approximate time I'd be seen by Dr. Matian. After being triaged, I must add that she also assisted with this, I was seen promptly by the doctor. Need I say more!!!!???!!! This gentleman was absolutely incredible. His bedside manners...impeccable. Having gone through a traumatic healthcare condition some 22 years , I informed Dr. Matian of this and needless to say the examination only got better. His attentiveness to my overall being was wonderful! Not one time did I feel rushed. As a matter of fact, he took the time to listen intuitively. He exercised such professionalism that I kept thinking...I've really made the best decision here. After my exam, the medication that I was prescribed by a colleague of mine...long story...was forwarded to my pharmacy...and additional testing was ordered. Being in this field, not practicing, I dare not lightly engage with a physician who does not represent knowledge, competence or the great "EQ" factor. He was more than I could have imagined. I would highly recommend Dr. Matian. He truly possess the knowledge you should expect your physician to encompass. The staff was magnificent and courteous. And the overall experience was delightful. After a terrible experience with my previous primary care physician, I transitioned over to Dr. Matian's office with a bit of skepticism. I will happily admit there was no need to have any worries. Dr. Matian's office staff are extremely professional and to the point. Dr. Matian runs an extremely well-oiled machine in his office. If he is not present, messages are taken and replied to as quickly as possible. Dr. Matian himself is personable and attentive. He spends time with you to ensure you get all your questions answered and explains things in length, making sure you leave his office comfortable and well informed. It seems he is personally involved in all aspects of his office which shows itself in the way it runs, smoothly and efficiently. I feel safe and protected under the care of Dr. Matian and am extremely grateful to have him as my doctor. I absolutely hate doctors. I practically have anxiety attacks just waiting in the waiting room. This is the first doctor's visit where I left thinking "wow what a great visit." First off, I had never heard of this practice or Dr. Matian before. When I got my insurance card through my current job he just happened to be the random physician that they had assigned as my HMO. I had to make an appointment with him because I experienced a strange dizzy episode at work. Oh my goodness, best doctor I have ever gone to! Upon arriving, I thought to myself "wow a randomly assigned HMO, this place will probably be located in the most trashy area in a little strip mall." Imagine my surprise when I walked into a beautiful building on ventura blvd. and into the cleanest and best decorated doctor's office of my life. No dirty kid's toys on the ground, no worn carpet, no doctor's office smell. Just beautiful wood panel floors, glass cabinets, flowers decorating the countertops and beautiful bright clean walls in a very pretty pastel seafoam color. I went up to the front desk expecting them to thrust a handful of forms and papers in my hand. Once again, I was surprised when the receptionist handed me an electronic tablet. I looked at her questionably and she she told me that I use it instead of the old clipboard forms to sign in. So easy and fast, and the best part..,.No writer's cramp! Next, meeting the doctor. Surprise again! Instead of one of those stuffy HMOs that rush in and out barely talking to you and only looking at your form, Dr. Matian wasn't like that at all. He came in sat down and made eye contact with me while I was talking and sat back relaxed like he had all the time to spend with me in the world. And...he was funny! I was so nervous for my appointment let alone seeing a new doctor and he was making light hearted humor and conversation which immediately put me at ease. He treated me like I had been going there my whole life instead of just meeting him for the first time. Normally, I only feel comfortable with female doctors, so before making this appointment I was going to call my insurance company and see if I could be assigned to a female instead. Not anymore! Been With Dr. Matian for almost a decade when he was first practicing at his old office. There was a comment made about him not fulfilling a prescription earlier that upset a client. It's a godsend for Doctors to take precaution to matters of certain meds that can do more harm than good unless consulted in person from the Doc. So kuddos to Dr.s who honor that. Another Point I would like to make. Do you realize how busy business owners become? Yes we want results and that need is challenging to be met when we are concerned about our health mentally and physically. Be patient and make sure you have a few doctors in your Que (a physician can't cure everything) so you feel safe and are properly diagnosed. I'd be foolish to Have Dr Matian Address my tooth pain (even though he probably could diagnose the issue) rather than consult my dentist. lol. Our health is important and the follow up means much. I get it. Dr. matian does his best to provide a staff and support team to confirm apps, follow up and make sure your concerns are addressed and diagnosed. Remember, like all of us these people have families and their own health concerns as well. You wont meet a more OCD candidate then myself, but I truly understand a Doctors and businessman's place and time as well. So.... Just be aware. You won't meet another Dr. who's more passionate in learning cause and effect, attends conferences and commits to being a new student as much as he already knows. That's important to myself and most. The MAIN reason I am giving Dr. Matian's office is that in my specific scenario, he went above and beyond, to make sure my needs were attended to. Basically, I thought I had strep symptoms on a Sunday. Knowing that my regular GP was tough to get an appointment for, I decided to try out the different Urgent Care clinics around Studio City. Online, most of them had horrible reviews, except for PrimeCare. So I thought I'd give them a shot and call. Unfortunately, their office was closed for that specific Sunday, but guess what ... DR. MATIAN CALLED ME BACK, based on the cellphone number that registered on their office phone when I kept calling. I quickly told him my symptoms over the phone and my reasons for believing it wasn't strep, but he was keen enough to advise me to assume that it was, until we checked the next day, when his office was open. He booked me for the 1st available appointment, and we were set. I came in early the next day, hoping to see him sooner, because I had a full schedule ahead. I needed to get out of there by 9:45, and suffice to say, I was seen b/w my appt time of 9:15 and done by 9:45. I appreciated his thoroughness, regardless of my time constraints. All in all, I got a Z-pac to make sure I knocked it out and to render me non-contagious. This review, I promised him, since I also found him on Yelp. My thought is that if some people had poor experiences and people like me have positive experiences, the service provider will do what it takes to live up to or even RAISE their value in the eyes of all future customers. read more

It's all true. My husband and I moved here recently from Nashville, and one of our biggest stressors was 'How do you find a good Doctor' in Los Angeles (or anywhere else)? We turned to Yelp and not only did Dr. Matian have the most positive responses, but I was very impressed by the fact that he personally replied to almost all *negative* feedback. Finally went to see him today; he has both Walk-In Clinic Hours and appts. I had trouble getting an appt that worked with my schedule so I went during walk-in hours. The girls at the front desk were fine. Sign in process was computerized and simple. There was a bit of a wait, but I expected that. Dr. Matian is as nice and engaging a Doctor as you could hope for. Super super friendly, inquisitive---just everything you want your Doctor to be. He asks a lot of questions and doesn't make you feel rushed. I'm an old chick with the beginnings of boring old-chick problems but he actually seemed interested, which is refreshing. So....Two Thumbs up. Great guy, great style, great Doctor. read more

I really wanted to go here because of the great reviews on yelp, but I gave up after calling 6 times between 9:05 and 9:30 (it says they're open, but after being on hold for a minute, it says no one is available to help you and then hangs up.) Okay, so I try the make an appointment form on the website - fill it out and submit and someone will contact you within 24 hours. Nope, form is broken too and leads you to a page not found. So, for new customers, I give them 1 star. If you can make an appointment, apparently they have great care, but I guess I'll never know. Updated to two stars because the owner, Dr. Matian, actually commented on my review about a problem with their phone system. Everything is unbelievably great at Prime Care Physicians... the facility, the staff and most of all Dr. Matian! Everyone who works here is completely professional & courteous; and they make you feel as comfortable as possible. I can't say enough about the positive experience I had here... and most importantly, Dr. Matian and his staff helped to put me on the road to recovery and healing!! The doctor listened to all of my questions, and explained the diagnosis & treatment in clear, concise terms. I left my first visit feeling informed and confident that I was in good hands. 2 days later I was back for a follow up and I was already feeling so much better. Dr. Matian once again explained my current condition and progress in a way that was clear and informative... and he was gracious enough to take the time to not only answer all of my questions; but my girlfriend's as well. Having looked for a good medical practice for over eight years now, with almost no success, a lot of mistakes/lost scans/lost bloodwork along the way that made me lose confidence in the meaning of a medical degree, I have finally found my version of an exceptional practice. I have seen Chelsea, FNP, twice now and not only did I come away feeling like I was getting the treatment I needed and hadn't really even realized I needed (as the kid of a doctor, and with a small amount of medical training myself, I figure it's all nothing and I can "handle it". Right.) but she was so incredibly kind and warm that I felt immediately (I really mean immediately) like "OK, THIS is my provider. I'm in the right place". I felt a sense of calm and relief at her demeanor, her willingness to listen to my confused ramblings of not being able to sleep, being tired all the time even when I do sleep, overwhelmed with wedding planning and a challenging, though loved, career all through tears of relief, and extreme exhaustion. She didn't bat an eyelash while I sat, sobbing, in her office and was so comforting in her style and manner of speaking to me as a patient that when I went home right after, if felt as though a huge weight had been lifted from me. I'm happy to say that even just a few weeks in, I am feeling so much better than I did when I walked into Prime Care that first day. I think I'd forgotten what a good practice looks and feels like. (This is what it looks like) It's rare and wonderful to find practitioners like those at Prime Care. Especially Chelsea. read more

For sure switching my primary doctor from this one. Yes he is sweet but that doesn't mean anything when it takes over a week to get a hold of him to call you once you threat and demand the whole entire office, and once you finally speak to your own doctor it's for 5 seconds and he hangs up on you. The staff has absolutely no knowledge of anything and I'm putting my health at risk big time by staying with this office. How is it legal to have staff that cannot answer health questions????! The most basic basic BASIC questions. I'm not the only one read the rest of the reviews take this business down. Dr. Matian may be nice, I'll never know. I had scheduled my first appointment for 11:45 am and when I showed up, I was informed that he had left for a lunch meeting. I said, "oh, well I have an appointment at 11:45 am." They said, "Actually, you're appointment was at 11:30 am." I showed them the three confirmations I had that proved​ that I was actually correct and that my appointment was at 11:45 am. I then voiced my concern that even if they were right and my appointment was at 11:30 am, with his lunch appointment being at 11:45, does that mean he was only planning on seeing me 15 minutes at most? That was, in fact, the case. They asked if I'd like to reschedule. This may sound drastic, but my life is quite literally in your hands and you scheduled lunch during my first appointment with you. read more

He has been able to get me in with same day appointments and calls me directly if needed regarding labs etc. The office staff is friendly and the hours available are fantastic considering I work a M-F job. He does not just simply come in, talk to you for a minute and leave, he takes his time and listens to your questions and concerns before determining the visit complete. Highly recommended to anyone looking for PCP. read more

Dr Matian is a very nice man, and genuinely concerned and helpful with patients. Most of my experiences with him and his office have been very positive. Every business has good and bad days, no place is perfect. But I would definitely suggest this Dr. Especially with my medical issues the past year, he has been very helpful and patient. I feel like Dr.Matian's office has gone downhill. The staff doesn't get any requests done so I assume either they don't care or are overwhelmed. I've called several times for lab work results and have been told that it will get sent to me but it's been a week and I still haven't received it. During Covid they closed their office and only did phone appointments. I was prescribed a medication and had a bad reaction to it so I called to ask for advice. I had a fever, rash, and muscle pain. I couldn't talk to the Dr until I paid $95. So I paid $95 for a 5-minute phone call to tell him I had a bad reaction. Maybe I had to go to the ER? I don't know, that's what the Dr. is for, right? No offer to refund my $95 or no mention of it. I don't even care about the money, it's just the principal of the fact. It's too bad because I really liked him on a personal level. read more

I will try really really hard to be brief. First of all, I've called after hours both in the morning and the evening, just expecting to leave a message, and Dr.Matian answers the phone. If I do leave a message, he calls back that day. I've never heard of that in LA. I came to him with chronic pain AND an inappropriate fondness for my pain pills, shall we say. Dr.Matian neither cut me off nor poo-poo'd my concerns, but instead found a way to step me down and maintain while continuing to address the cause of my problem. I've had many doctors give up on me, but not him! He LISTENS! So often I've found doctors who think they know my body better than I do. Dr.Matian thinks outside the box, comes up with as many options as he can, but makes my opinion the one that matters the most. Plus, he actually educates me on his points, rather than just listing ideas. Finally, being a woman of a certain age, I gave in and said let's give Botox a try. He is an osteopath, so he's trained in how muscles work as a specialty. I look, forgive me for saying so, AWESOME. I retained all of my natural movement, but the wrinkles are evaporating. Plus, I did research, and he is on the lowest end of the cost scale. He didn't try to sell me on any additional things and really keeps costs to a minimum, even in this area. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I literally trust him with my life now. read more

Update. I previously reviewed Dr. Matian with three-star rating. At the time I commented "the jury was still out" meaning this was my first but NOT final reflection. Since then I have had a chance to interact with Prospect Medical Group, the HMO group that referred me to Dr. Matian. As a result, I can honestly say my "meh" rating was more due to policies of the HMO than the doctor. (See below for details) They approved one of my referrals (after I made a call to the insurance company) for an oncologist. However, when I tried to make an appointment, the voicemail message said it had been changed and if I was looking for marketing to press one. If I was a patient press 2. I pressed 2 and NOTHING happened. T tried this three times and then called back Prospect who gave me another number. That ended up getting me to a pediatrician's office. Needless to say, my complaints regarding Dr. Matian were out of his control, so I am changing my rating. When I met with him, he was attentive and knowledgeable. My only caveat in this case, is if you are calling him for an immediate problem that requires further testing, do not do it as part of the HMO group Prospect Medical (offered under California Care). I am now looking for another group or PPO insurance plan. May 6, 2014 - "....However, it has been two weeks since Dr. Matian said he submitted referrals for me for a Healthy Woman check up and oncologist (I am a 6-year BC survivor and so these check ups are very important). I still have a cancer specific medication I am not sure I need to continue taking, and have noticed some phantom pains. He also received a prescription refill request from my pharmacy a week ago and it still has not been completed. At this point, it looks like the medical group may not be all it is cracked up to be, and I may end up changing my insurance plan. Like I said, the jury is still out, but at this point it doesn't look like I am getting the same quality care I had last year. So I guess I would close with 'caveat emptor." In my recent interaction with Dr. Matian and his family I am fairly upset, disappointed and in shock how they go about doing business. They are unethical and not honest. They lied to the insurance company and who knows what else they lie about. If a doctor can commit fraud like this, I would not trust them with anything else. Avoid at all costs. read more

I've been to this clinic three times -- I'm giving 3 stars for the entire process as a whole (I wish yelp would let me do a 3.8) -- I would have given 4 stars, but my check in time was delayed, even though I arrived on time for my most recent appointment. In fact, I waited for about 5 minutes before going around the corner to ask if someone was going to check me in. When she came around, she didn't acknowledge the fact that I had been waiting and though she wasn't...unpleasant, she also wasn't very friendly. In fact, the last two times that I've come, I didn't find front desk overly welcoming. Maybe it's too much to ask, but it's nice for sick people to have a friendly face to talk to when they first walk in to their doctor's office. I might seem a little nit picky, but my background is in primary care. I'm a nurse and have worked in primary care clinics and in health care consulting. I currently work as public health nurse now, but used to travel full-time, assessing the work flow/processes of clinics (particularly safety net clinics) and coaching clinicians, MA, nurses and administration on best practices to improve clinic efficiency and patient centered care. I know there's no perfect clinic, but I believe that we can do better. I, myself, have had less than satisfactory visits with doctors in the past -- often feeling unheard and unsatisfied with treatment recommendations and lack of empathy/bedside manner, feeling frustrated with long wait times, etc. With all that to say, if I was just rating my experience with the providers... I would have given 4.5 stars. I am very much a fan of Dr. Matian and Patrick (PA). I think they are excellent providers. I didn't feel like they were rushing to move on to the next patient (even though I'm sure they were). They had a very patient centered and wholistic approach, which is like a... national treasure in our current health care system. I liked that they asked about other factors (like stress) because that is SUCH an important consideration when evaluating/assessing the health of each individual. Stress has been linked to a lot of different diseases (see When The Body Says No by Dr. Gabor Mate). Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox. Hold on, I'm gonna get back on it one more time --Medscape recently published an article citing that medical errors (Misdiagnosis and poor/delayed treatment ) is the third leading cause of death. That is alarming. My biggest endorsement to the providers at Prime Care is this: I think Dr. Matian and Patrick's methods as clinicians will probably save a lot of lives. Dr. Matian and his staff are fantastic. They are caring, professional, and considerate. Yes there may be a wait but it's worth it because the staff spends the time with you and every other one of their patients. I never mind waiting to see any of them. read more

I rarely ever write reviews - but there should be an option for zero stars. From my calls with this doctors office today it is now clear to me that Dr Matian and his staff support the suffering of patients. Actually according to Mary the office manager, having severe Flu symptoms is NOT suffering. These were her own words today. They record all their calls for quality assurance and for training purposes so go play the call back Dr Matian and you will hear it yourself. I came down with violent Flu Symptoms last night including reoccurring fever convulsions and deep painful coughs and muscle pains that continue today. But that's NOT suffering according to Mary. I'm in the Bahamas and even though the local Bahamian pharmacy agreed to let my soon-to-be-ex California doctor call in a prescription of Tamiflu - a non-narcotic flu medicine that must be taken within 24 hours of first flu symptoms to be affective, Dr Matian refused to call the order in per his unkind and insensitive office manager Mary citing that he wasn't licensed in the Bahamas. Even though I explained to Mary that the pharmacy didn't need him to be licensed in the Bahamas - they only needed a prescription from any doctor located anywhere because Tamiflu requires a prescription. But he still refused to make a simple phone call to help ease the suffering of a patient. What happened to your hippocratic oath Dr Matian? Your position of do nothing has actually made my illness much worse than it could have been had you actually done SOMETHING. This is after I called their office 8 times this morning trying to reach someone - they rarely ever answer and force you to leave messages. The front office staff is the worst at returning calls and follow thru. Mary needs to find a different job in a different line of work where compassion is not needed because she clearly has none. Mary said Dr Matian would only call the prescription in to a local pharmacy in California and then I could have someone mail it to me. So how does that work with a medication that is supposed to be taken within 24 hours of first symptoms?? Mary refused to put Dr Matian on the phone with me and she was just bewildered at why I was so upset on the call. I will be withdrawing myself and my family from this pathetic practice where a patients' welfare is completely disregarded and suffering is subjective to whatever Mary thinks it is. This is shameful and I recommend new or existing patients think twice before continuing their care at this horrible practice where the office manager and front office staff sustain a culture of insensitivity. These people do not answer their phone. I have been calling their office for 2 weeks. I am running out of medication. They do not care or call back. They are a complete sham. It is ridiculously slow and lame. read more

Cool doctor. Very nice. Down to earth. Was hesitant since doctors in general are more in it for the money. But he proved me wrong Liked the clean facility. Heidi at the front was very kind and hard working since we were having trouble with her old records in Connecticut. But she was very kind and worked with us. So, I have been a patient here for at least 6 years I estimate...I have always found Dr.M and his Physician's Assistants (on the occasions I have seen them instead) to be very helpful, and sympathetic too.. I went through some fairly challenging and quite serious stuff a few years ago and thought Dr. Matian was very, very good in dealing with these incidents... His referrals have also been good. Niw-as to the wait times, which people have mentioned: I would say the wait time can sometimes be long- but I have never waited for over an hour beyond my appointment time, but there have been times where it was perhaps 40 - 45 minutes after my scheduled time when i was seen...Now, in fairness, every Dr. I have seen in L.A... be it Primary Care or a Specialist seems to VERY rarely run absolutely on time... So bear that in mind. Also, there are instances where if you are seen later in the day, it's not surprising things might run behoind, as i never feel rushed once I am in seeing the Dr. I personally find this to be a very good practice, and Dr.M a genuinely concerned and resposive primary Care Physician....
