Prime Meat Market Marinated LA Galbee is delicious and of the highest quality.
    Greg K.

My go-to meat market for quality Korean BBQ. A friend suggested the place a few months ago and we tried the marinated LA galbee and it was amazing. The quality of the meat was top notch. You can tell by looking at it and of course tasting it too. The marinade was spot on. They also sealed it in a nice, sturdy plastic packaging. I've been ordering ~10 lbs of marinated LA Galbee and they pack it in 2 sealed packages. We love it and have gone back several times. Try it. The quality is undeniable and the value is there.

a portion of meat on a scale

In the Irvine area, for Korean cuts of meat, there are 3 markets to select from... mom pop type place such as this Prime Meat Market or corporate such as Zion & Hmart. Prime Meat Market Irvine, small butcher market is clean, they have hand sanitizer & the aujumma & aujeoshi wear masks. The aujumma has always been friendly. The aujeashi comes off borderline rude, doesn't say thank you but I can look past that as I mostly have encountered w the aujumma. This is my go to for yangnyeom prime grade galbi at $15.99/lb & maewon daegi bulgogi at $13.99/lb. In their self serve refrigerator, they have various prepackaged meats available, usually packaged with min 2lbs+ of meat. If you spend (I believe it's) over $30, they will provide lettuce, scallion salad w dressing & ssamjang sauce. The lettuce scallions have consistently been fresh. You can order in advance for larger orders. Their pricing is a bit higher/more expensive than the corporate markets, but well worth it for the quality & spot on marinade flavor. Based on their product, they deserve 5 stars. So Why the 2 stars... I have never questioned the cost of their meats until my most recent purchase. Rule of thumb, one pound of galbi is roughly 4 pcs. The container I received had 9 pieces of galbi & was marked at 2.93 lbs total. If 8 pieces should roughly weigh 2 lbs, how is the 9th piece 0.93 lbs? I decided to weigh the package of meat ... scale showed the same 2.93 lbs. hmmm are they weighing & pricing With marinade... hence inflated price. See pictures. Each piece of galbi weighed about 0.21+. Removed meat and weighed the marinade. Really... 0.70 lbs (11.2 oz) of marinade. Unfortunately this type of practice does not sit well with me & they now have lost a long standing customer. And btw Zion & Hmart weigh the meat first then add marinade. There are other Korean meat butcher shops in OC that are slightly less expensive & carry the same quality/grade of meat & have good marinade flavor. I don't mind driving an extra 10 minutes supporting other mom & pop shops now.

I didn't mind waiting, but it felt like he was intentionally taking his time. When it was finally my turn, he asked me to meet him on the other side of the store, handed me my bag, and said I looked mad and could have the sandwiches for free. I told him I was happy to pay, and he responded by telling me to "fuck off." I was shocked and asked if he had really just said that, and he doubled down and told me to get going. I've been a regular customer for years, but after being treated like that by the owner, I won't be back. Ryan came across as someone who grew up with a silver spoon in Newport Beach and thinks he can talk to customers however he wants. Unfortunately, they just lost two loyal customers.

I usually order their steak sandwich but this time I decided to try their rotisserie chicken caesar salad wrap and it did not disappoint! Each bite was packed with protein and it had the perfect amount of dressing coating every ingredient without overdrenching it. It comes with garlic croutons, crispy romaine lettuce, some sort of shaved cheese, and peperocino peppers. Their ratio of protein to lettuce was perfect and I liked that the wrap stayed intact after each bite. The peppers were unique and added a nice tang. The only thing I would change is for them to add more croutons, I only had a few bites with it. Can't wait to come back to try more of their items!

You don't know what you're missing until you've had Nori!! My cousin celebrated her 30th birthday a week ago and surprised us with this delicious catering company at her party! Everything tastes so fresh and the protein to rice ratio was perfect! Usually I'll have a mouth full of rice, but this company is super generous with their protein! They also have a few side dishes that pair very well with these hand rolls. We all met Kevin and Abe and they were one of the most personable people I've ever met; both very humble men and very, very easy to talk to. What an amazing experience! If you ever want to hire a catering company for your next event, I 1000% recommend Nori. I'll definitely have them at my next one!

Booking Nori Handroll was a breeze -- Kevin was super easy to communicate with and made the process completely stress-free. When they showed up for the event, the attendants were so friendly, professional, and attentive -- true pros all around. Now... the FOOD. Oh my goodness. Absolutely incredible. We had salmon, Maui tuna, yuzu hamachi, and unagi for the guests who don't eat raw fish, and every single handroll was a hit. The sauces they provided? Fire. One of our guests was actually pouting all night after Nori left because he wanted more -- that's how good it was. Honestly, just writing this review makes me crave them again If you're thinking about booking Nori Handroll for any event, do it. You will NOT regret it. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing everything. I would 100% book them again in a heartbeat.

Swung by on a Saturday during peak lunch and made us a little worried seeing it empty but decided to try it and support a local business. The menu had lots of options. Starting from different seafood pancakes to different Korean noodle soups or bimbimbap dishes to a few combo options of beef or pork. We chose for the all beef combo that was about $80. Banchan included some classics; kimchi, pickled soy onion and jalapeños, potato salad, salad, pickled radish, and a shredded beef. Nothing really stood out about the banchan. The shredded beef was definitely something new, but it was dry and kinda chewy. I don't know if this is how the dish is supposed to be, but it didn't really wow me. The meat for the bbq was good, and would say that the waiter did an amazing job cooking everything for us. The meat was well marinated and presented. The hard part is for the price that we paid we could have gotten even better quality and options at an AYCE price. Restaurant itself is very clean and has many tvs. Lots of potential but I think it's hard when there are a lot of other competitors locally, Wishing them the best of luck.
