1. Heating was broken and the restaurant was FREEZING. The owner lied to our face and said it was now on full blast, claiming it was off since there was a fast (3 days ago!) 2. No welcoming bread basket. How hard is that to do? 3. Starter was a $17 'meat pizza'. It was basically sweet potato fries on a piece of bread sprinkled with burnt slithers of brisket. I complained. It was taken off the check. 4. Steak ($57!) was asked for medium rare. It came well done. Sent it back and had to wait 20mins for another (which was mediocre at best) 5. Wife's steak was asked medium. Came not only well done but burnt on the edges. 6. Total was a $140! An absolute disgrace. Avoid! read more

This place HAS potential to be good, but needs work. This review is not to criticize the restaurant or owner, but to help the owner improve. This restaurant is located in a shopping center, so its not a single standing building. Did not know what to expect when i walked in. The inside was very nice and fancy, great for groups or date nights. I felt under-dressed coming here after work. We got here at about 6:30 pm. The whole restaurant was empty, and remained empty till we got the check. A group of 3 came in during our meal and were seated, not even 5 minutes after looking at the menu, they walked out. (weird, wondered if it had anything to do with the restaurant) The waitresses are VERY nice and polite and could be great, but they are not trained properly. When we were seated the waitress asked us if we wanted bread. This shouldnt be asked, just bring bread. She brought us bread and a little olive oil dip and olives and some corn hummus. Olive oil dip and olives and bread were GREAT! This place is a steakhouse. My boyfriend asked about the steaks on the menu, the waitress had no idea about any of them. He asked about the sizes, the cuts, lean or not and did not get an answer. When i asked about the surprise steak, she claimed it was a small steak maybe about 14 oz, then said its a big steak. Is it big or small? Not a hard question to answer. If you dont know, go ask somebody. (she actually did go ask somebody and came back and said the steak can be cooked however you like it, which is not what we asked) I got the salmon (minus the honey ginger sauce).I was satisfied with my meal. My boyfriend ended up ordering the skirt steak. Came with reheated old baked potato spears and mushroom risotto. My boyfriends steak came cut. It was not a solid steak. It was cut up pieces of steak. VERY disappointing. You can actually tell that the steak had been cut up BEFORE being cooked. So was this an actual steak or was this scraps? From the moment the bread and oil/olives were brought out, we had mini flies flying all around us and clinging to the wall right next to our table. These were not little fruit flies, they were bigger and a lot. Everyone who worked at the restaurant saw us swatting them away while trying to eat, none of the workers did anything or offered us a new table to sit at. Disappointing. My salmon came with sliced cooked vegetables, which i did not eat. I had the vegetables and tiny bite of salmon left on my plate. Waitress asked me if i wanted a box to take my food home or should she "throw it out" - i didnt want to take it home, and I dont care what you do with it after i leave. Just felt weird hearing a waitress ask "or should i throw it out?" At this time (about 7:30) another couple walked into the restaurant to be seated. We were finally not the only people in the restaurant. The bus boys were very nice, and friendly and EAGER to work. Just wish they had more business to keep them busy. Everyone was standing around staring at us the whole time. When it was time to get the check, we mentioned to the waitress that we had the groupon deal. (deal was $50 for $100 toward meal) She got us the check and our total was $105. (for steak, salmon and order of french fries. No beverages or appetizers) The waitress came to our table and scanned the groupon on our phone and my bf handed her his credit card for the remaining 5 dollars. As he handed her the card he said "you can charge the $5 to this card". She came back with the credit card receipt to be signed for $19. My bf questioned it, and only after he questioned it was he told that tax and gratuity (18% that they automatically add to bill) were not included. This is fine. BUT we should have been told this before you charged the card. We would have ordered more food or gotten drinks to use up the rest of the deal. But since the waitress was not trained properly, we were not told this. Another waitress came over, also very nice and sweet girl and explained that groupons dont include tax and tip. She said since we werent told this that she would get it taken care of. She said "we'll wave it, we'll fix it. We'll get it taken care of" - well she didnt do anything. She just went and got the owner. The owner came out and asked what the problem was, we explained. He said thats the rules and blah blah "ive had over 1000 people come in this summer and use the groupon, almost 600 people and we didnt have any problems" A- good for you that you had that many customers. B- learn to count He did nothing, offered no explanation or help. We got up and left. Its very unprofessional to make a scene in a restaurant and let the whole place know we were using a groupon. Its unprofessional to allow your customers to leave mad and feel ripped off, especially when this is a new business. Why is your restaurant empty? FIX IT. First bad impressions lead to less than stellar reviews like this, and customers who will not return. read more

Was there about an hour ago. Daniel our server as well as the woman at front door were very friendly, courteous and professional throughout the night. Overall an excellent experience. The bread was scrumptious. The appetizers, entrees, and deserts were all great. We got the prime 95 anniversary special. Was an excellent deal. Highly recommend it. One slight thing I would mention is that every restaurant offers water and bread right away. It should be brought out without asking. The staff as I mentioned was great and we"ll be coming back. I went in and had a very pleasant experience there. The waiter was very nice and helpful and the food was very good. They had a special going on and that made it a great value. "Two stars" is being charitable, because the server was friendly and tried hard, but this restaurant is simply not-yet-ready for "prime" time. My wife and I went there with three grandchildren. Although Prime Ninety-Five purports to be an up-scale resteraunt, they did not offer bread, although our orders included salads with croutons requiring a brocha "hamotzei". When the adults ordered drinks, our server said he "thinks" they're out of gin; and when the salads came and we requested a pepper mill, he apologized that it was "broken and hadn't been replaced". Steaks ordered rare were well done, despite the menu adjuration that "rare means rare". Overall, very uninspiring, pedestrian food, way overpriced. read more

Went there on Thursday evening not very busy My wife and I ordered 79 special, appetizers were extremely tasty very impressed. we both had rib eye steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection again very impressed. the side orders Mashed potatoes were good and sauteed vegetables were phenomenal perfectly cooked.The deserts were ice cream and waffles, chocolate cake and peanut butter chocolate parfait all extremely tasty. If I went to New York I would have spent at least 200 dollars and would not have had as good a meal This is third time there and have not been disappointed. This is my 1st review EVER and I feel compelled to write one as I am extremely disappointed and upset. We were a group of 7 and it all began with the website reservation never coming through. We arrived at the restaurant and the air conditioning was blasting in 24 degree weather! We all stayed with our coats on and we asked politely for them to reduce the air conditioning and/or turn it off several times...they did not. Other customers also complained about the cold and they even had their coats on! Our appetizers all came at separate times including the entrees....Isn't table manners and etiquette at any restaurant wherever you go to serve appetizers and entrees all at once so everyone can eat together?! Fine....how about we asked for a lean steak and the waitress recommended the "Del Monico" and as I cut into my first piece it was 75% fat! And the extra piece of the steak (think of the state of NJ cut) was ALL fat...I cut more pieces and the entire top layer as well...was ALL fat! I showed the waitress and she had nothing to say. The best part was when the owner came over and said the "Del Monico" is known to be a fatty steak...well someone here doesn't know what's going on?! When the bill came...they didn't even take off the steak that I returned! They didn't even attempt to make the situation better in any way! How about when we ordered dessert for our mother's birthday...of which I told them over the phone and my husband told them in person....they brought out every one else's dessert, again, all at different times...and hers last....WITHOUT singing Happy Bday...just put a candle in it. So I made a reservation in Lakewood with Open Table (yes I know this is Yelp, but they never logged me in so I feel I need to warn others)... Its a Wednesday night, 6 pm im the only customer. The bus boy sat me. The first thing I noticed was the place felt dirty but spotting wine glasses behind the bar area, I thought ok they have wine and a bar... good... Not so- they have no alcohol, only tea and soda. Mind you it is advertising prime steakhouse. So ordered (regrettably) a steak, baked sweet potato, rice pilaf and a snapple tea. I was served no water, no bread, no butter. They didnt serve salads. And waiter was plain rude. Each bill has a 18% gratuity charge. The food was not great. Potato burned, steak overdone and I was served 4 tablespoons of rice. I went to the bathroom and it smelled like a truck stop. The bill was $75. Not worth the money. read more

I ate here late week with my wife and two children. I remember this place when it was a restaurant called The Reserve. The people who bought and own the new restaurant did a great job at fixing up the place, it's really nice inside now. I ordered the skirt steak, it was great. Cooked to exact medium rare and the marinade was delicious. My wife ordered the chicken Marsala and loved it. My two children who are 16 and 12 both ordered pasta dishes; one got gnocchi and the other got this spicy pasta with grilled chicken. Both kids really liked their entrees. We ordered sushi as an appetizer to share at the table and it was great; we were actually surprised that a steakhouse, a kosher ken at that, would have such tasty sushi. The only reason(s) why I did not give a full five star review and stead rewarded it four stars is that the service wasn't up to par with the food; our waiter was a young man who wasn't very inviting nor did he seem interested in making sure aw had everything we needed and were enjoying ourselves (lucky for him, the food was great and we WERE enjoying ourselves). Also, the menu was quite on the pricey side. But I will admit, well worth it. Definitely will be back and will be recommending this place to friends! so my wife and I came in tonight with a reservation. got seated after about 5 minutes of waiting because there was nobody when you first walk in to seat you. our server was a man who seemed very disinterested in us as people due to his sales pitch. the wine we originally ordered was not in stock so we substituted spirits instead and it was delicious! we waited a long time for our appetizer but of course the first one we ordered they were out of but wasn't notified until 10-15 minutes after the fact. the food was pretty good, not something I would come back and spend that type of money to be very disappointed! our first experience was not good no need to come back again. take your reviews seriously and reevaluate this restaurant ASAP! read more
