Buffalo chicken dip
Quinn L.

As an avid summer fan, I love all things cookout/picnic/neighborhood BBQ, and eating dinner at Primeval Brewing was the perfect way to get a taste of summer during these dreary April showers. In the "lobby" area of Primeval, there is a small stage for live music performances, as well as a shelf of board games (some family-friendly and others that are geared towards just adults!) As much as I enjoyed the live singer's talent, the speakers were extremely loud and made it hard to hear the people I was sitting with. Adding to the cookout atmosphere, the dining room is outfitted with large picnic tables that are big enough for multiple parties to sit together. If you prefer a more private spot, Primeval also has a few individual tables. Speaking of the BREWERY part of Primeval Brewery, there is an extensive draft beer menu from local vendors, as well as cocktails made with locally-distilled spirits. My friend tried the Clever Girl cocktail, which is gin flavored with blood orange. It was as delicious as it was visually appealing! Fans of local breweries/distilleries might be interested in trying a beer "flight," a tray of 4 beers of choice for a very reasonable $10. For appetizers, we ordered the charcuterie board. It wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a simple meat and cheese platter without any extra complications. We also had the buffalo chicken dip with blue corn chips, which was a crowd favorite. The dip was pretty spicy, but the chips balanced out the flavor. I had the grilled cheese panini as my meal, and I was impressed with the delicious blend of cheeses. I opted for no mustard, but I imagine that the flavor would add an elevated flavor. Overall, Primeval Brewery is a great place to enjoy dinner, and I can't wait to come back in the summer for a proper picnic!

Excellent German style beers they brew on site, and great pretzels (I just wish they were bigger) with cheese and mustard. Couple of neat features, the beer is not all served in pint glasses but in a glass that is appropriately shaped for the type of beer you order. Any German or beer connoisseur would pick up on this important detail. Another interesting detail about my experience was the lack of sticky floors. I really appreciated this. The staff takes pride in operating a clean establishment. Tables are socially distanced so once you are seated you can take off your mask. (Note this was reviewed in September 2020 as bars are dealing with COVID-19 restrictions)

Cool ambience in downtown noblesville. Staff was very friendly and they had full bar. I liked the exposed brick which seemed to have some history. Large garage doors that open to outside were nice! It was very very loud would be the only downfall. Overall a cool spot though!

Lazy days beer and edelweiss

We came in during an event where they have live music. Very family friendly environment with shareable tables. They say it's European style so don't be afraid to sit next to a stranger. The beer I picked is nice and light. Great place to pop in and have a drink while waiting for a table on the weekend.

As Noblesville continues to grow, it seems fitting that a third local craft brewery has been added to the offerings. This one has a great location about a block east of the courthouse. I was able to find free street parking (though limited to 2 hours) just a short distance away. Inside, the brewery is very open with the order counter on the left, tables with large/clunky benches at tables on the right, and the actual brewery visible, but off limits in the back. No table service is available, so you order your beverages from the counter. They currently have six house beers (all English and German styles) as well as a few guest beers and a limited amount of spirits. I decided to go with a Helles Lager, a Hefeweizen, an IPA, and finished with the Rauchbier which I had never tried before as the fourth selection in my flight. The Welcome to Helles (4.4% ABV, 18 IBU) was a tasty starter. Nice malty flavor that should appeal to lots of beer drinkers. The Edelweiss Hefe (4.9%, 11) had a rich aroma and just enough banana/clove flavors to satisfy a Hefe enthusiast (like me!) I was a little surprised that the staff suggested the Maxwell IPA (6.4%, 81) as my third taste when IPA's and sours are often last. Again, another solid IPA with a bitterness that reminded me of grapefruit juice (hops and citrus). Very enjoyable and I think should appeal to the IPA fans. And finally, the Rauch My World (5.3%, 24) was completely different from any other beer I've tried. Having a beechwood smokiness and bacon flavor, I could see this going well with barbecue or maybe even a steak. As for a stand alone drinking beer, I won't say it was my favorite. But maybe that's something I would just have to get used to. They do have some merchandise available and though there wasn't any growler filling during my visit, it appears from the menu that howlers and growlers should be ready in the near future. Overall, a casual atmosphere for enjoying a beer while supporting a local business. I think given time, this place may grow more popular than the other two in the area. Review #3356

Pretzel Freak with half of an Oktoberfest Marzen :)
Thomas S.

Laidback place with great beer and limited but good food. I enjoyed an Oktoberfest Marzen, Hefeweizen, and their IPA, all quite good. The "Pretzel Freak" was the perfect ham and cheese on a hot pretzel roll. One star off for no table service. I was doing some work and had to stop each time I needed a beer, which was exactly three times . Recommend!

Great brewery add to the downtown Noblesville area! We got there right when they opened at 4p on a Friday (street parking was easy to find) and it was quickly packed with people shortly after that. It is a very large space with a big bar counter that you order at and many long communal tables to sit at similar to a German beer hall. We ended up doing a flight (4 beer samplings) of various house beers. It is a mix of German and English style beer with dark and light options along with a few guest taps and some wine and other liquor. My personal favorite was the Titus which is a Pale Weizenbock. They have free popcorn with various different favored salts to try but if you wanted to order food, they have a limited food menu that included a charcuterie board with different sausages and cheeses on it. They also have some sandwiches and a limited kids menu (all ages are welcomed). Will certainly come back to this brewery when I am up in Noblesville visiting family again.

Nice place in downtown Noblesville. Clean and cozy. Very friendly staff. Good food at decent prices, though the food menu is limited (just sandwiches and appetizers). Mainly a craft brewery modeled after a German bierhaus. They do have soft drinks (in cans) and a kids menu if you want to bring the whole family. Order at the bar, take the numbered stand they give you, and they'll bring your order to you. They also host live music.

Half growler (Howler) of Afterglow
Carrington T.

Preordered beer pick ups online- 2 growler refills & 1 new howler fill. The bartender was friendly and diligent about keeping things clean. She took the time to sanitize the growlers thoroughly before they came near any of their taps. The Afterglow and Edelweiss brews are our favorites. Afterglow (English Strong Ale) is perfect this time of year when we still have cold and hot days. It has a nice toffee flavor when it's chilly, but also not too heavy for when its hot outside. Edelweiss is delicious and refreshing all the time. It pairs perfectly with sitting outside to enjoy the warmer weather.

Primeval Brewing is a home brewer-owned brewery in downtown Noblesville. The owners are state and national award-winners and the beers taste like it! They're not the place to go for your birthday cake milkshake-flavored beers. If you're looking for a barrel aged quadruple dry hopped IPA, this is not the place. They focus on German and English styles and do a great job of it (they do also have a delicious IPA, to be fair -- it's mainly European hopping with a hint of American). My family and I tried all of their beers, and you truly can't go wrong with any of them. I'd encourage everyone to try the Rauchbier -- it's a smoked beer and is not to be missed! If you're more of a Bud Light person, the cream ale is a great choice (it's wayyyy better than Bud Light though, it's flavorful but light). The Helles is also excellent! They are family friendly and have a small food menu as well as a cocktail menu for those who don't prefer beer.

We popped in here after just moseying around downtown Noblesville and were pleasantly surprised. Great spot for good beer and German-inspired food. We decided to order an appetizer and went with the buffalo chicken dip, which didn't disappoint. They had a few TV's going with hockey and baseball, and a nice classic rock playlist playing. Would love to come back and check out their live trivia on Wednesdays.

Cocktail and Wine Menu (11/2019)

Great location and fun atmosphere! We went on a Saturday night and Primeval was packed! The interior has a European feel with long benches and tables. My husband loves beer and I'm more of a wine and cocktail gal. My husband liked the beers and said they have a nice variety. I love that they have wine and cocktails. Primeval has food, although, we didn't try anything as we had just eaten dinner. They do offer complimentary popcorn and have a variety of different salts to sprinkle on your popcorn. Primeval has a great vibe, good beer/drinks and is a great addition to Noblesville!

Great hang out and people to be with! Check it out. Definitely in my top 3 favorite breweries to visit and kick back and listen good live bands.

The beer is great! The food is awful. Imagine if Chef Boyardee opened a restaurant and tried to serve bar food.

When you first walk in, it's a gaming room for the whole family! Then you walk into the bar area and there's lots of things for sale, from merch to beer to other games and books. The folks working were friendly and knowledgeable about events. My cousin ordered the beer flight and woke food. All was delicious. For the flight you could pick any beer or cider on tap. For food we got pretzel, chips and queso, chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. Everything came out relatively quickly. There is a ton space to play game in the next room over and wasn't too loud. There were several people who came to work or read and sat in the bar area and seemed content. Great experience!

We LOVE B&B! Whether it's for trivia, bingo, or just going to have a relaxing place to read or play…read moresome board games, it's always a great time! We used to love going to the one downtown on Mass Ave also before it closed. But we're thankful this one is still open and that we live so close to it. I've found so many Xmas gifts for friends/family here also. If you're looking to find some retro, classic games and/or books, this might be the motherload! It's tucked in on the backside facing Home Depot, but once you find it the first time, you'll never forget where it is! Go in, grab some games, a beer (or two), and hang out during a trivia night! You'll feel right at home.
