Came here last night for my uncle's birthday. There was a large group of us so we were able to have a variety of shared appetizers. The rock shrimp special in vodka sauce and the bacon were my two favorite apps. For my meal, i got the chicken parm with vodka sauce. Not only was it amazing, the portion was basically large enough for multiple meals. Definitely brought leftovers home. The live music was great in the background, and not so loud you can't talk. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive as well. Overall great experience!

This is one of my favorite restaurants, I tried the outdoor dining for the first time. It was just as nice as the inside. The food and service was great. The drinks were also good. I didn't make a reservation and they were kind enough to still seat us.

Absolutely stunning restaurant- beautiful inside and out. Radiant and romantic spot to have all the delicious eats and treats. Saturday night was booked and busy. We had a reservation for 7:00pm- we had to wait about 15 minutes or so. Best server ever alert- Christina! Amazing- attentive and admirable for the recommendations and service. Food- 5 stars, I would say that just a bit more salt would be great. We did ask for salt and pepper. The crispy artichokes were hands down were one of the most crispy and delicious appetizers I've ever had. 10/10! They start with a few loves bread and oil- great way to start. The Cacio e Pepe was good but just a tad bit more salt and less pasta water- I could taste that. Needed a bit more creaminess. Beef Wellington: bomb. So flavorful, but needed one little punchy pinch of salt. Pork chop was savory and tender and fall off the bone. Dynamite! Great place. Good food.

Food is cooked to perfection. I ordered the branzino and my husband ordered the beef Wellington both were cooked well. For appetizer we ordered the bacon slab it was a large portion definitely delicious. For drinks my husband order the lyche Martini and I ordered a glass of Pinot Nior both were good. Service was impeccable, no complaints. Ambiance more upscale, great for a date night or intimate dinner. The only thing I would say I didn't love we sat near the band which was a bit loud. Other than that 10 out of 10, will be returning.

Very cozy italian steakhouse with lots of private little nooks to hang. Service seemed a bit slow to me, but they were very attentive in general. The filet mignon was one of the best I've had--perfectly tender and so flavorful. Prices were pricey, as to be expected for this type of restaurant.

I visited Primi last night for my 40th birthday. It's a beautiful restaurant with dark, lush interior. I loved the wallpaper, lol. Our server was fantastic. No issues there. I ordered a French martini, which was fine. I would have liked it to be a little sweeter. But that's just personal preference! The Biscoff espresso martini is amazing, though! I highly recommend getting one of those! For our appetizers we had the stuffed mushrooms and baked clams. The mushrooms were mushy and flavorless. You could have told me they were from the frozen foods section at stop n shop, and I would have believed you. The baked clams, while nice flavor wise were so big and chewy that I was gagging trying to get them down. Clams that big should honestly be chopped. I'm not sure if that was an option, but we weren't asked. Now on to our mains. 3 out of the 6 of us ordered the beef Wellington. And all 3 of us agreed that it was bland and flavorless. We were begging for salt and pepper! The mashed potatoes and asparagus that accompanied the meal were good though. We also ordered a side of creamed spinach, which was watery and again could have used some salt. I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong items or if it was just an off night, but I was really looking forward to this meal and I was sadly disappointed. I'd truly only come back for another espresso martini. The food here is sadly a skip for me.

Great food, decent menu. Nice fireplace but loud and close for comfort. Service was super attentive but main course took forever to come out. Food was delicious and was a great time.

Another visit in the books. They had a special of capollini cakes in pesto sauce and they were AMAZING. We asked for a side of vodka sauce as well which was delicious. Also, still one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had!

Came here because I received a gift card for my retirement. Service was friendly and attentive. The grilled octopus appetizer was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef Wellington and my husband loved his porterhouse. The sides were yummy especially the Brussels. A small band was playing music. We had a lovely evening.

Hospitality: -- the friendly, generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or…read morestrangers, creating a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment, making others feel valued and at home. This brings us to The James, managed by Joe Giannino under the fat-cat "Standard Hospitality Group," owned by Andrew Affa & Steve Squirtiro. It's hard owning a business and keeping it profitable but not when it's an almost algorithmic formula driven money extraction system so commonly found today. It's more difficult dining out in the world today when it feels like hospitality is vacating. Vining more about high-revenue than humanity. By very definition, I wouldn't call a good portion of the hospitality industry hospitality at all, and I certainly wouldn't say the James offers any. What I love about food is what it does for the soul, & what I've always loved about providing and caring for people is the sense of community; connection during good times and difficult ones alike; That's hospitality to me. Breaking bread is one of the most fundamental human gestures of generosity and true wealth. When you have it, you share it not squander it, not hoard it or treat it like it's something to take from others and line your pockets with. That's why this experience disappointed me so much, because I believe with the myriad of options, we must be far more selective and far more supportive of local and smaller family run establishments. Today, for a table they would still fill and never notice, I tried to cancel a reservation out of respect -- respect for the staff, for other guests, and for my damn self. Being charged a cancellation fee when a mom is sick on Mothers Day, is not hospitality, it is not empathy. It is greed disguised as brand experience self worth. I have supported the Arlo from this same restaurant group in the past and probably would have happily returned too, based on the menu alone, but coldhearted, rigid policies like this change how a place feels. There are many family-run restaurants that understand flexibility and empathy. That kind of environment matters to me, and this experience will forever make me decide to support those places instead. I've recently learned to name positive outcomes when something negative arises, so I believe this time, it's great that it only cost me fifty bucks to never give this group another dime. Typical corporate hospitality is more what the James can offer. These types of COMPANIES feed themselves, not the community.

We were greeted promptly by our server who was very courteous. He took our drink order promptly and we ordered the appetizer of chips and guacamole. They bring out chips and salsa for every table. We ordered the iron skillet the Birria, chicken tacos, and a Besito bowl. The Besito bowl with steak was absolutely delicious. I tried Birria for the first time and it was very tasty. The iron skillets came with tortillas on the side so you can make your own soft tacos and my kids said that they enjoyed it, but it wasn't anything phenomenal. We asked them to remove the chorizo, but both of the iron skillet came out with chorizo. They did immediately take them back and deliver them promptly, leads me to believe they just simply removed the chorizo and sent it back out. Overall, it was a good experience, if I ever am craving Mexican food I would visit. The only reason I took one star away is the guacamole was $16 and it was a really small amount for that price. Also, because I told the waiter several times that we do not eat any pork and specified that we do not want the chorizo. The ambience of the restaurant is nice, it is on the smaller side, small and intimate.

"I see her on the freeway Long Island Expressway…read moreHey, give me a break, baby Help me get out of this rain" (Rolling Stones) I just attended a wedding here, and I honestly can't imagine any aspect of the experience that could have been improved. It was that good. The wedding ceremony took place outside, where rows of chairs were set up and we all had gorgeous waterfront views. After the ceremony, we walked into the building's first floor for the cocktail hour. Simply put, the food was amazing. The cocktail hour alone could have served as a meal. There was a big central charcuterie station of cold appetizers - think meats, cheeses, fruits, and crudities. The four corners of the room each housed a food station - a carving station, sushi/sashimi, pasta, and Asian stir fry. Oh, and there were tons of butler service passed hors oeuvres too. Next, we walked upstairs to the large ballroom for the main meal. Dinner service started with a "Burrata Caprese" salad with a big hunk of creamy mozzarella served in a dressed salad with grilled bread. As for the dinner entrees, would you believe a choice of SEVEN entrees?? I kid you not -- seven entrees - Branzino, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, Surf and Turf, and eggplant. My table had just about all of the choices, and everything disappeared. After the meal, there was an apple tart with ice cream and wedding cake. All of the people I interacted with, the hosts, the bartenders, the servers and the clearers were super polite and friendly. When I think about the decor, the scenery, the food, and the service, this was a top-notch experience, Well done, Piermont.

When we arrived we enjoyed specialists drinks, appetizers, and a solo musician on the main floor. There were so many different and fun small plates constantly passed around from mini fish tacos, crab crakes, bruschetta, to fried ravioli. They had hot carving stations and a pasta bar. We were then moved upstairs for the main reception event and dinner. It was a huge wedding party and all of the guests fit comfortably. The decorations were perfection and all of the servers and bartenders were attentive and nice. It was a blast and the staff at Piermont helped make it a success. If you are thinking of this location for your future wedding or reception, I 10/10 recommend the Piermont.
