I have been here several times and I am surprised that this is the first time I am reviewing them. I like Primo's a lot but I am in the situation where I am often in a location where I have a choice of several different locations. This one is off my list based on my two recent visits. You are encouraged to pay online as there are 'Perks' that come with doing that. Great! On my last visit, I ordered through the app but they did not provide for a discount offered by a local fundraiser. I figured I would deal with that on pickup. I got in the store and one guy was still making my sandwiches. Another emerged from the back and then went back and hid some more not asking me if I had to pay, needed anything else, etc. Okay.... The guy finishes my order and says here it is. I told him I have this discount. He says, "It's already paid for." I said yes, but I could not apply this discount. He said, "It's too late." I guess I shouldn't have put a tip on the order either. Needless to say, I won't be back. FYI, on my last visit my husband went in and paid cash and got very slow service and the same runaround about the card by some other less than helpful counterperson. So, I guess they agree to provide the discount and then try to give you all sorts of reasons not to grant it. Maybe that is or isn't true, but they sure make it seem so. read more

They never answer the phone. It's so frustrating. What kind of place that does takeout food not answer the phone when you call to order food? Tonight, tried calling at 7 which is an hour before they close, and of course, no answer (not surprised, normal.) Drove there, arriving 30 minutes before closing still, and they refuse to make a sandwich with a hot cutlet in it. The ONLY reason we still go here is because it's more convenient than any other location and the food itself is good. I don't know what all the hype is about. This place is downright bad. People talk about this place like it's the best place in the world. I just don't see it. I ordered an Italian hoagie if that cost me $12 plus tip. Let me just say I expected much more. The portion of meat was skimpy, the tomatoes were paper-thin, the onion was bland and tasteless, and the roll was so hard I think I cracked a tooth. Needless to say I will not be returning ever and plan to patronize the one of the hundreds of locally owned delis in the area. Perhaps the franchisee should examine their product and do some comparisons. You may find out why I was the only customer in the place at lunchtime. After reply from Primo assuring that they have standards I assure you my review is not about price. My sub had prosciutto on it. I know the cost of things and a $12 sub is reasonable if the quality and quantity reflect this. My experience yesterday did not! Regardless of how many times I'm told things are cut fresh, weighed, etc, doesn't make up for what I had yesterday which was a subpar hoagie at any price. My partner offered to stop and pick up a hoagie on his way home so that we could have a light lunch. He called ahead and they said "15-20 minutes". He got there 25 minutes later and still had to wait for the one sandwich in our order. The sad medium hoagie (turkey schwartzie) was on the driest roll I've experienced. I realize that Primo is known for their seeded rolls, but not everyone likes that, so we got a plan roll. Who knew that choice would be terrible? Add to the fact that a small 10" hoagie is SIXTEEN dollars now. Wow. To quote my partner, "This is probably the LAST Primo hoagie I will ever eat". I'm with him. read more

Honestly i was walking in with doubts about this place was thinking of going to dunkin instead but i was glad i didn't go to dunkin because this place made my whole day i tried the philly chicken cheese and they had served it plain with nothing i was confused but i took a bite and i loved the food overall loved it 10/10 read more

Hands down the best hoagie place ever. The bread absolutely makes the sandwich. It's the best. I can't say enough good things about the hoagies. I dream about the Nonna's veggie. I once ordered the Diablo version and it was way too hot for my taste buds. My whole family can't get enough of Primo's and we are frequent customers. We even got a try a for Christmas eve dinner! Two of us got the primos size Audie with mayo and sweet peppers and there were hardly any of anything in it. 1 slice of Turkey, 1slice of cheese and 2 slices of roast beef. They also forgot the sweet peppers. For $29 it's ridiculous. Don't waste your money here. Better off going to Wawa!! read more

This place is so mismanaged. We have had 2 orders here in the last few months that have taken an inordinate amount of time to make. The kids (and I mean teenagers that are working and taking the brunt of the rude customer exchanges) are not to blame. I have never seen an adult manager or someone that can help to promote efficiency here. I feel bad for the younger workers as we witnessed angry customers today. Today will be our last time ordering from Primo. We placed an online order at 12:06 which stated it would be ready by 12:36. We arrived and were told it would be 20 minutes more. We did not receive our 2 sandwiches until 1:10. We could not even cancel our order because it was an online order. Someone please manage this place better or you're going to be without any employees and far fewer customers. read more

When I parked I tried calling 5 times no one was answering- my husband finally went in to pick up the order and the girl at the counter was having a personal conversation with a customer. For a hoagie shop, this is the best you can get. They use quality ingredients and have a great menu selection with hot or cold sandwiches. Their crusty semolina roll is another reason they are the best for me but it is not used on the small Sammie so you've got to order at least the primo size to get this treat. There are some sides, chips and drinks in store and some seating. Parking has never been a prob. I've ordered large catering trays from them and have even done this with just hours notice and they have always been very friendly and accommodating. read more

I really like primos and they make great sandwiches. That is when they get the order right. Ordered 6 sandwiches to take to my wife's parents in Blue Bell for Father's Day lunch. We ordered one roast beet with everything plus mayo and the other without tomatoes and oil and vinegar. So what do we get, two roast beefs with mayo which my daughter hates. I wouldn't make such a big deal about it but this is the 4th time in the last year they gave me the wrong order. And they are usually nice about if I bother to call. One time they actually delivered the right sandwich to my house after I picked it up hence the three stars. But they really need to correct this because I don't want to keep having to call or be annoyed as I was yesterday. Placed an order for this location via Uber Eats at 10:30am. Delivery scheduled for 11:30am. Paid for rush delivery. Then the estimated time for delivery changed 5 times, until it was past the delivery window - at 12:15pm, the status was still "preparing your order". By then the people I bought food for had left my house and got lunch on their own. When I finally gave up and cancelled the order, I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR THE ORDER. No refund. No food. $89.65 charge. I almost think they did that on purpose so that they could have free food. NEVER BUY FROM THIS LOCATION and NEVER USE UBER EATS. Both are garbage. read more

We have enjoyed Primo Hoagies for many years. When the Chester Springs store opened we gave them all of our business. We often ordered Primo for our out of town friends when they visit, at their request. The last big order was very disappointing. There was very little meat and cheese. It was noticed by us all. "These are from Primos? We used to have trouble getting our mouth around it!" We gave them another chance, asking the worker to please make it with more meat and cheese and we would gladly pay more for it. It was still skimpy. Tried the Chicken Collette and it was good. But as expected, outside the Schwartzies, all the other hoagies look boring. And I wouldn't get the Chicken again. Primos is the best in Lancaster County. It starts with the rolls. No other place in Lancaster offers an original Philly roll. So cheesesteaks are not good compared to Philly. However if you are looking for a great meatball, cutlet or a hoagie this is the best in Lancaster. Unfortunately Primos doesn't offer cheesesteaks. Wish they did. read more

Sadly, this Primo's is not up to the chain's usual great reputation for amazing hoagies. The roll was fantastic. But that's where the greatness ended. My husband got the Old Italian. Overwhelming taste was salty. Provolone portion was skimpy. In my case, I got the Turkey and Swiss, no mayo or oil. I could see the oregano sprinkles but couldn't taste them. Turkey was generous but tasteless. We were sad. I'm now looking for a different Primo's in hopes it will be better elsewhere. read more

I am a big Primo's fan but not for this location. I have visited this location 3 times. The first time the sandwich that I received was very light on the amount of meat that should be included. I discussed this with the owner and he offered a free sandwich. When I ordered that sandwich, I requested that they weigh it, and it turned out great. The third time, I ordered the same thing but once again, it was very underweight on the meat. They are selling a $10 sandwich which is very lacking to cut costs. The owner swears that they are doing no wrong. Avoid this store, all other nearby locations are great! read more

Although the sandwiches are pretty good the customer service at this location is BRUTAL. Gave them a final chance after two rough experiences in last year. Called in my order and was told 15 minutes. Stuck in traffic so got there in 30 minutes. Paid my bill and was told my food would be ready shortly. Stood there for 15 mins and watched 3 people in front of me order and be served. Showed my receipt again to support our local soccer league and was told it would be just a bit longer. Finally someone making sandwiches asked me my name. My food had been sitting there ready the entire time. Not even an apology. For the money go to Montesano Bros next door. Go there a couple times and you're treated like part of the family. read more

I have always said a good sandwich with plenty of quality cold cuts of the proper ethnic background and a great roll could ask for a premium price and get it. When you bite into a Primo hoagie there is no doubt as to what your eating the flavors are distinct and satisfying, The only suggesting I have is either spin dry your lettuce or change the cut style because the shredded lettuce is too wet and makes the hoagie too soggy. The owners of Chester Springs Primo are both very nice people, and the staff they had when they first opened were very friendly and personable. However, most of their current young staff is horrible and as a result I will no longer go there. They just glare at you and act extremely annoyed you came into the store. I hate feeling apologic for making someone do their job, if you don't want to work there, quit. A friend of mine was first to comment on this and also will no longer give this place her business.
