I've been coming to Gervasio for lunch for their pizza, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Chesterfield. Stopped in here on a whim as drove up to NYC. This place is GREAT and worth the 10 min drive off the highway. Warm, friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious. My chicken Marsala was delicious and HOT. My son's rigatoni al Ragu was also sooo good and again HOT. My wife had a tomato pie (pizza). Amazing. The crust was perfectly cooked, crispy and chewy. Came today, New Years Day, 1/1/2026... South Philly Cutlet Sandwich...HUGE!!! Definitely enough for 2 people. Crinkle Coney Island Style French Fries were great. Neither cutlets or French fry were greasy and both seasoned just right! Not pictured was the Roasted Beet and Arugula salad topped with Pistachios, Ricotta Salata, and White Balsamic Vinaigrette. I grew up in Trenton (Villa Park) in the 80s and every time I would sleep over at my grandmom's house, we would get a well-done mushroom and onion pie from Gervasio's. For the uninitiated, they used to be in the same building where Killarney's is now. To say that I grew up right between the two infamous Trenton Tomato Pie joints and STILL preferred Gervasio's time and time again is a true testament to how good their pie is. When I saw that they had come back from the dead, I was floored. It was like winning the food lottery. The pie is EXACTLY the same, with beautiful little crispy bubbles all over the crust. Everything else I have had from here is has been fantastic and I am so comforted that they are back to slinging fantastic food once again. I will never stop ordering and I truly wish them the best of luck with this iteration of a classic. Love you guys! read more

1st Timers to Gervasios Italian Family Restaurant yesterday. I wanted to try their Tomato Pie after seeing a pic of one in the NJ Pizza Joints forum on Facebook. My Mother In Law ordered a chicken parm sandwich, and my wife went with the Chicken Milanese. We also had the Zucchini Fritters to start off with. Zucchini Fritters were outstanding, very tasty. Marinara sauce that came with the appetizer was spot on. When the meals came out, we realized we were definitely going to take some home -- super generous portion sizes. The Tomato pie was decent w/ no flop, and my wife & Mother In Law loved their meals. The arugula salad on top of the Chicken Milanese was a Home Run with my wife. The restaurant is smallish in size, but the atmosphere was cozy & inviting. Our server, Dylan, was funny & personable, we liked him (even my wife). I'm old enough to have good memories of the original G's in Hamilton. At that time there were many good to great Italian options in nearby Chambersburg. But this was a stand alone in the burbs. I'm happy to say that much of the good food has been recreated here, but service could use some improvement. I tried ti make a reservation for 7 for an early Saturday lunch, they don't accept reservations. We took our chances and met here around 12:45 and found an almost empty restaurant. We were assigned a booth with small table added that was not quite able to fit all of us. We were told this was our only option, we were not even allowed to switch the smaller table with one of the several empty larger ones, again we were told the owner doesn't allow it. For the few of us drinking wine we were given the tiniest of glasses. Sometimes this is the case but my astute relative noticed they also had full size red wine glasses on a shelf. We let this pass. The food was 4 stars. I was curious about the zuke fritters, I liked them a lot, the addition of bean purée made them milder and creamier, nice app to share. House salads come with many of the pasta and entree options and these are a decent sized chopped salad, possibly better than competitors. My relatives enjoyed their pasta dishes, and I can personally attest to the manicotti. I saw the chicken parm from afar and was not offered a taste, but by looks alone I'll try that next. The meatballs were above average or higher, as was the marinara and ragu. We were all too stuffed for dessert. I'm fairly close and will likely return for takeout at some point, I'm curious about the pies. While the customer service issues were a factor I'd give them another chance and chalk it up to an inexperienced staff. But it's nice to see a family business continue to serve younger generations. read more

Super excited to have an Italian place open up in our local neighborhood shops! Tried them out last night for the first time. I think they've been open for about 2 weeks now. We decided to go with pizza since we were going with carry out. We ordered the Margherita Sicilian pie. They told us it would be ready in about an hour which seemed long for a single pizza order but they're new and I figured they were slammed since it was dinner time on Friday night. I wasn't sure where to enter since they have two outside doors. When I got inside the hostess was super friendly in directing me to the take out area. The young man working the take out counter was also very friendly and apologized for the long wait on the pizza order. He had about 15-20 tickets next to the register, so they were indeed slammed and he wasn't frazzled at all. After I paid I got my pizza within minutes so I didn't mind the timing at all. You told me an hour, I came in an hour, and it was ready. That's perfect to me! If you told me 30 mins and I waited 30 mins in the carry out area, then I'd be upset. The pizza was very good. Sauce was unique compared to other places in the area, and the pie had a nice crunch on it. Maybe too crunchy on the edges bordering on overdone. We'll definitely order from here again and look forward to trying out the dine in experience and some of the other entrees. Not the best pie that we've had but certainly worth getting again, and the staff interactions were enough to keep this at a 4-star for me. read more

She had the chicken franchise with slices of garlic the size of thumb nails...soupy to describe the sauce would be an understatement...although not a huge fan of capers don't remember many chicken franchises coming with capers but there's did... I had perhaps one of the worst chicken Parmesan ever!! Asked for light sauce wasn't...server agreed and asked if I wanted it made again. I said no!! I grew up in Chambersburg a neighborhood in Trenton that was considered "Little Italy" back in the day. My last name ends in a vowel and my family could be considered American-Italian. So, I love good Italian food and I consider the food at Gervasio's some of the best. I got the penne (pencil points) with meatballs. The sauce, or gravy, was excellent. A ragú with meatballs on top. I got a side of sausage which was also delicious. The dish was piled high with pasta with a generous amount of sauce. It was perfect. The service was quick and friendly and our waiter Dillon was attentive. The ambiance reminded me of restaurants in "The Burg" as the music consisted of Frankie Valley, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin among others. I have visited the grandson's restaurant in Chesterfield twice since it reopened, following its original location in Hamilton. The crust on their Trenton pie is the best I've had-- even better than Papa's. However, I prefer Papa's pizza sauce because it is sweeter. Overall, the Trenton pie is solid and rivals both Papa's and Delos. The meals are fantastic, and the tomato marinara sauce is excellent! The chopped antipasto is spot on as well. Gervasio's Trenton-style tomato pies are top notch. This is no ordinary statement in an area known for great pizzas but I can confidently say Gervasio's rivals DeLorenzo's, Papa's and Conte's. If you are looking for a great pizza go give them a try. The crust is perfect crispy with just a hint of char every time - evenly cooked and topped with the right amount of cheese and sauce. If Portnoy came and tried this pizza I'm sure he would rate it in the 9s. We recently tried (and loved) the chopped antipasta and the pasta fagioli as well. This is worth the drive, wherever you are coming from. And get yourself a red cream soda while you're there! read more

We visited Gervasio's for an early dinner. I am SO impressed. I usually don't like visiting new restaurants until they've had time to work out the kinks, but I just couldn't wait to try it! I was so pleasantly surprised. We were sat immediately by the super friendly hostess. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so our server took some time to give me suggestions. He was so friendly and patient. Once we finally ordered, they brought out the tastiest fresh bread for our table which was great because I made myself even hungrier while perusing the menu. After filling up on bread, our appetizers came. We ordered the mozzarella balls and bruschetta. The bruschetta was awesome; it was crunchy, tangy, and so fresh. But it was on the mozzarella balls that I fell in love - with the sauce! I could have licked that bowl clean. Next came our salads. There really is something beautiful about a simple salad with their house dressing (white balsamic, I think?) For entrees, I ordered the veal milanese. It was cooked perfectly. Crispy and tender. My table also ordered the chicken picatta, chicken parm sandwich, chicken parm entree, frutti di mare, and the cheesesteak pizza. We got an extra side of the marinara and topped our pizza with it because it's just so good (I want to buy a gallon of it to can and pretend it's my own). The picatta was the best my mother-in-law has ever had. Tip: sub the marinara for picatta sauce. The atmosphere was cozy. The staff was attentive. Our server didn't even roll his eyes at me when I spilled my drink all over the table and my lap (sorry). Chef Mark came out to check on our table and get feedback. We were there for about an hour and a half and never felt rushed, but the next course was always ready when we were. Overall, it was incredible! You could tell the staff was still learning, but that's to be expected. We can't wait to visit again, try more food, and see how they continue to grow and improve. read more

I walked in about 4:45 PM, and was promptly greeted by the hostess who said to sit where you wanted. Then the owner Mark came over and we talked some about his family business. I read the menu and decided on the chicken piccata. I asked if I could have the same sauce that goes with the piccata and he said absolutely. After my order came and I took a bite of the chicken it was all over. The chicken was done to my liking and the sauce was excellent. The pasta was as if it. Came from my own kitchen. It was done to perfection. I would highly recommend this establishment to all my friends and family. By the way this was the first time that o was at this location. I have eaten at the old Gervasios in Hamilton Twp before they went out of business. The service and food was some of the best that I've eaten in the area. Highly recommend. Lives up to the hype! We frequent Gervasios. They opened around the same time we moved nearby and they were the first restaurant we dined in after relocating. They've become our go-to for outings with family and friends and we've ordered takeout when guests were visiting. Never tried their pizza because their other options are too good. Standouts have been the artichoke francese appetizer (it's heavy but so worth it!), most salads, pasta dishes (amazing red sauce), meatballs, and even seafood. Recently they had a blue crab pasta special that was delicious and had so much crab for for the $30 price! I particularly appreciate that they actually write the prices of specials on their board, that's refreshingly honest. The quality of service varies from average to amazing and it's nice that the owner often comes out to check on tables. read more

I had lunch with a friend for the first time here at their new location. We had meatball Parmesan sandwich and Cheesesteak both came with french fries. The meatball Parmesan was flowing with sauce and mozzarella cheese with very large meatballs. If you like a delicious meatball Parmesan sandwich I recommend . Dillion was very informative told us they had closed their business 20years ago. Wow time flies by I didn't realize it had been that long ago that they closed in Hamilton. He told us the Grandson of the original owner now owns and runs the family business. Dillion was very entertaining , funny and on his game for a young man. The restaurant was very clean with a fresh Italian atmosphere. They set you up with a cloth napkin with your silverware. Yes you don't get that in many places today.
