I was unimpressed by Primo. You here about how great they are, but I like soft bread and toppings on my hoagie. They have great meat and cheese selections but a crappy topping list and hard bread. They make great hoagies, I'm a particular fan of the Sharp Italian hoagie. I am a huge fan of Dibella's in New York and while this isn't quite as good it's the best I've had since then at least. Definitely recommend! read more

The rolls are never really that good, the sandwiches aren't bad, but the rolls stink. Worse is the service.

I recently went to pick up my party tray from this location for an order of 20 to 25 subs, it was turkey cheese, salami and the ham mixture. I was planning on using a 50 gift card that was given to me back in 2015 that my late husbands school district gave to me after his sudden young death. (He was 33, Scott Matsinger who died on my honeymoon) anyway, when I tried to use the unused card it declined but the front desk staff called headquarters and got it straightened out for me without hesitation. Then the other staff helped me carry the large orders to my car and he was very nice and professional and hard working. The hoagies were fresh, neat and tasty and everyone at my house warming gobbled them up. I was so thankful that this experience was pleasant and beyond my expectations as were the employees. Called to place an order for delivery tonight. Was told they don't deliver. I asked why it's says it on the menu and was told they deliver certain days for one hour only during lunchtime. Don't you think it would state that in the area where it says DELIVERY!?!???!?!?? read more

Great hoagies, nice people, they haven't lost a thing from the old days of 1 Primo in South Philly. I've tried most of their Hoagies and even had a couple made to my specs, the meats and cheeses are 1st class, and a real South Philly roll, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Had a death in the family and friends ordered a hoagie tray from this Primo Hoagies to be delivered to my mother's home. They left a tray of hoagies and tuna wraps on the porch in 90 degree weather without having anyone answer the door or confirming anyone was home. As my mother was not staying there, they sat for 4 days on the porch before we found them and had to throw them out. When we called Dan (owner) to ask why the food was left on the porch, he said that the people who ordered the food said that was okay to do (obviously not true). He was dismissive and ignorant on the phone with my wife and did not seem really interested in apologizing for their mistake. This is a terrible place to even attempt an order. There's always an attitude of annoyance when you are trying to place the order. If you actually get to place the order, be prepared to chew through their tough rolls. I'm not sure why they say they're so busy because their food is just as good as their service. read more

I ordered a Chicken Diablo sandwich but ended up with a Turkey Diablo instead. Super frustrating since 1. I can't eat deli meat while pregnant and 2. I only get a 30 minute lunch! I called a bit later after eating my leftovers to let them know they gave me the wrong sandwich and he goes no that is what you ordered and suggested that I bring it back to get another one. Excuse me ?? I know what I ordered and what I can eat and since I only get a short lunch as it is I don't have time to run back and forth to drop off your mistake then get what I originally ordered. Didn't even say sorry or admit a mistake but right away gets defensive and tell me its what i ordered. How rude and unprofessional! He could've offered to write my name down for next time or drop it off at my job since it was their mistake not mine or just a damn sorry would've been okay. This place isn't even worth it to try a hoagie. All the employees are beyond rude. It's unbelievable to me that a take-out sandwich shop can close at 7 pm. Even more unbelievable is that you are unable to sit in the small tables after 6 pm because the employees need 1 hour to clean up so they can be sure to close at exactly 7 pm. Lazy? read more

Since new ownership changed so did quality of product. The new owner forced the workers to re cook day old bread sometimes two days old, so you are rolling the dice when you get your roll(why the bread is hard as a rock sometimes). The amount of meat and cheese was cut down to about 1/10 of a pound. So your paying top dollar for quality and freshness which is a joke. Same with the veggies and toppings which was cut down in half. Its a shame because Primos is a good product but not at this store. I know this because i worked there for 5 years. read more

Ordered a hoagie tray on a Sunday for a Wednesday baby shower. When I went to pick it up, I was told the order was not taken. I had to show the cashier the call that I placed to them from my cell phone that previous Sunday. I had to wait while the hoagies being made (but not placed on a tray to be served). I was then asked to pay FULL PRICE for their mistake. They were not even willing to give me a discount for my time and trouble... What a disappointment. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because hoagies were tasty. I will order out from another hoagie place next time!! read more

I love Primo Hogaies. However, I just spent 30 mins trying to order 2 sandwiches for pickup online, you do all the work, and the screen just goes blank, you lose your order. Tried to call the store to order. Busy. Can't do that either. Now I'm at WaWa, getting something that I don't even want. So disappointed. read more

Ordered some hoagies for a staff luncheon. I only had an hour prior. They did a fantastic job down to cutting the hoagies into 1/3's and the side items. Hoagies tasted awesome, Sides were fresh and all of the plates and napkins were there as well as requested. Staff on the morning shift top notch! Thank you! read more

I've been going to Primo's since they opened. My company used to order from them for lunch, and that's how I was first introduced to their sandwiches. I have probably bought from them about 50 times, and I've never had a single issue. My order is always correct and well made. Their food is great, and the employees have always been very polite. Their bread style is firmer, and it makes for a much better sandwich. I do recommend calling ahead because they do take a few minutes to compile an order, but hey- quality can't be rushed. read more
