I was introduced to Primo Hoagies when living in Pholadelphia. Their subs are simply the best because of the quality of bread and meat they use. Even Jersey Mike's isn't a close second. This location in Naples did not disappoint. The cashier provided quick and excellent service, guiding my companion to make her custom choice from the extensive menu. I almost always get the Italian Diablo, so I knew the routine. We grabbed a couple of bottles of unsweetened iced tea from the refrigerator and the subs came out quickly. Since we both ordered 'primo'-sized sandwiches we ended up taking half of each home. We didn't need chips given the size of the hoagies. The dining room was clean, the food was excellent, and the prices were high but consistent with the quality. read more

My boyfriends all time favorite sub place. If we lived in Naples I think he would eat here all the time. It's a must visit every time we come for vacation. The bread is fresh and the meats/cheeses/veggies are even fresher. I personally love the tuna; it's Italian tuna so it's canned in olive oil instead of water which gives it that richer more flavorful taste. The addition of spicy seasoning "Diablo" on all their subs is a nice touch too. My bf always gets the big T Diablo and I always make my tuna Diablo style too. All in all a great sub sandwich place. I soooo wanted to love this touted as "voted best". Very disappointed. I live in Venice and hour plus drive to get there. A non issue since I was in the area. Ordered 3 sandwiches. All 3 sandwiches were made with Stale Bread. I was there at 1020 am hoping for fresh bread . The opposite- chewy hard rolls on all 3. The rolls are what make or break a great sandwich. I show up at 10:20 and still had to wait 10 mins with not one customer in the establishment. In addition food on the walls and tables smeared with an unknown substance. The QR code to rate the establishment was a laminated crumpled paper stuck to a counter. In addition I looked in the cooler and all of the sides stated good until 12/31 including the Mac salad and desserts. Impossible a Mac salad would be good for the next 2 weeks. Paid $54 and gave a $5 tip for a 2 out of 10 experience. If I owned this franchise location I would be embarrassed. The franchisee should honestly take a trip to Seattle and experience Tats deli. Funny to say this as the east coast is touted for great sandwiches- not here in Naples Florida. 2 stars for the insides of 3 sandwiches. You won't get fresh unless you get there the day they get their bread shipped in. read more

I've tried everything from the Philly to the old Italian and it's always great going down... however... the reason for only three stars is that I always end up viciously ill in the tummy! First time. Had the mild sharp Italian with banana peppers and pickles. Wife had diablo tuna. Both really really good. Great flavor. The tuna was real. Not soaked in mayo. Provolone was sharp and fresh. Both were full of fresh flavor. Had to wait a few minutes so it was not Freaky Fast but it was really, good, made the way we wanted it by people who were genuinely interested..unlike another place that I've abandoned. Have called multiple times and the last time she was actually laughing when she answered. This is as close to Philly as you can find in Florida. Primo makes one of the best hoagies in Philly and now you can get them in Naples. It's almost as if you're back in Philly. Discovered a hoagie shop today @primohoagiesnaples that specializes in Italian specialty sandwiches and more with a big menu offering. I ordered the traditional Italian Hoagie on a sesame roll. For me, a great sub starts with the bread and they hit the mark which so many places fail in this area which is the foundation of a great sandwich. The meats and vegetables were fresh and sliced perfectly so one didn't overpower the other. I give them a thumbs up as you can tell they put a lot of effort and care into making a great Hoagie! My visit to Primohoagies was subpar in every way. I went early on a Saturday and ordered a small vegetarian diablo sandwich togo. There were a lot of people working, at least 5 young employees behind the counter, yet customer service was lacking. The sandwiches are very expensive. My small veggie hoagie was $7.49 and wasn't more than 5 inches in length. The eggplant in the sandwich was seasoned and hot (and fried) yum! But everything else was gross, broccoli rabe was cold and bland, long hot peppers were cold and bland, tomatoes were cold and unripe, it really was an odd sandwich combination. I ate it, but I wouldn't get it again. Back to the service issues, these employees don't know hot to read tickets. The guy at the counter got my order right. I declined oil and vinegar, but watched the kid behind the counter squirt it on anyway. I ordered togo, but they served me a sandwich in a basket. Then looked really displeased when I told him I ordered to go. He started putting the wrapped sandwich in a bag, I said, I don't need a bag please. He handed me the sandwich in a bag anyway. I'm not going to one star a small business Deli shop because people who do that are not cool and it's not fair to small business. An angry liberal socialist or bureaucrat with no pressure in the business world would slap a lame one star review. Not American. We the people should Encourage and support free market enterprises. People make mistakes in business. I do as well. But!!! The service here I experienced today was below expectations. I Placed an online order to help with connivence of staff. Literally customers were lapping me while waiting inside 45 minutes plus on top of spending the time online to set up order. Message/Tip to the owner/manager..... Maybe offer a Comp on the order bc you and the team duffed the order so bad. I had to demand a refund under principal. You wasted an hour of my time on Saturday and personally that is my issue. Note: Understaffed team running operations on Saturday, College championship weekend.??!! Cmon man!! Not smart. The nice young lady was solid at the register. She was trying to make it happen. Place has potential if management could pull better levers managing labor force. Hope they can grow from this!! read more

I just spent almost $20 for a roast beef sandwich and a portion of potato salad. I have to say either the Roll was two days or they mistakenly use the densest, chewiest roll I've ever seen but into for their sandwich. Visit #1 - friendly staff, decent sub, place a bit unclean. Visit #2 - very much unclean and staff rather dismissive/indifferent. Said that heating (toasting) the turkey sandwich on visit #1 was mistake and 'corporate' says not allowed. Indifferent to loosing a customer. More concerned about 'corporate' No real interest in alternate ideas, customer retention. Visit #3 and after - will never happen as place was still a bit messy and staff / corp doesn't 'get' customer service. read more

Wanted to like this place, but $7.25 for two medium size meatballs on a hoagie. Not enough sauce or Parmesan cheese. Not worth it. Even the hero (hoagie) was tasteless, was uneventful. Any pizza place would double the size. My wife's Italian cold cuts, in a "bowl" was very good. Again, what you pay for what you get is not worth it, given so many other places nearby. Go to BRK PIZZA on Naples Blvd. for the same price practically, can get a very good small cheese pizza AND a great side Italian Salad. ($8.50) see my pix there! The place is staffed by kids that come off like they were doing me a favor by taking the order. They wound up getting one of the two sandwiches wrong. Would I return? Maybe. Good sandwiches.
