Today I tried PrimoHoagies for the first time on a whim. and placed a pickup order through Yelp/Grub Hub in the afternoon for me and my partner. I got a Sharp Italian for me and a Nonna's Veggies for him, selecting all toppings for both on a seeded primo roll. These are serious sandwiches! The Sharp Italian was delicious. Well made with quality ingredients, I was craving a sandwich just like this with real bread (best seeded bread I've had in a while). Just the right filling-to-bread ratio. The meats and that sharp provolone, with both hot and sweet peppers *just right* My partner devoured his Nonna's Veggies before I could even take a picture - or ask for a sample :) He really liked his, stating it was a hearty, flavorful sandwich. More often than not, vegetarian sandwiches can be lackluster - but not this one. Perfect combo of eggplant, provolone, and roasted red peppers, plus with balsamic vinegar dressing *drool* There's only takeout and delivery right now due to COVID. When I went inside the store today, I thought they handled the line well. The woman who helped me at the counter was very friendly and on it with taking walk-in orders while also checking if people in line ordered ahead of time and were picking up. She even noticed regular customers who walked in and greeted them too while keeping things moving with the line. Good vibes in the sandwich shop. I saw this place as I was driving by and it looked interesting. The place was clean and welcoming. The women behind the counter were friendly and guided me on ordering. The sub was prepared just as I wanted it and the service was quick. The taste however was nothing special. I was expecting something different from a place that specializes in subs but it was just an average sandwich prepared in a place with a lot of flashy signage on the walls talking a big game. read more

My wife and I called the Runnemede Primo to order lunch. The girl who picked up answered far too quickly to be audible and placed us on hold without waiting for a reply. We then sat on hold for over five minutes with no one picking up to check on us at any point. The line then abruptly disconnected. We called back and once again she very swiftly dismissed us to hold - and did so before we could even get out that we wanted to confirm we had the right number. Customer service was abysmal; I would drive ten minutes out of my way for primo rather than order here. read more

Tough call - good hoagie - The Pilgrim - hot turkey w gravy, stuffing & cranberry BUT way overpriced! Although somewhat better than WaWa's 'Gobbler' - our medium was smaller and more expensive than WaWa's big 'Classic'. There wasn't much turkey in our sandwich either. Its doubtful we'll go back! ------------------------------------------------- Okay - they made good for their food flub of their Thanksgiving themed 'Pilgrim' hoagie. I am not a bad review person. If I don't have nothing nice to say I don't say anything at all. But when a place charges $60 for 4 sandwiches it feels wrong to not say something when it is this bad. I have been going to primos since I was a kid long before the company grew and this food is nothing like that food. The chicken cutlet was dry and a strange color, clearly burnt, then the sauce for the chicken parm tasted like stewed tomatoes. My kids have lost their appetites after tasting this garbage. Absolutely awful and whoever served us that food should be ashamed. Never again! read more

My second experience at this shop was much better than my first. It probably would not have come about had it not been for the owner who noticed my less that stellar review and took the time to address the issues I encountered. His offer of a replacement sandwich was nice too, but the concern he demonstrated in his reply was what inspired me to revisit. I selected the somewhat go to sandwich of mine, a turkey and American with everything, light mayo. As soon as I felt the heft of it, I knew this was different from the much advertised Pilgrim. They use a very nice seeded Italian style bread that has just the right amount of crust. The turkey was thinly sliced and copious, so much so that Fido got some morsels too. I believe they use Thuman brand meats, and while I'm not an expert on brands I have to say that it was very good fowl. All ingredients were proportioned well and the resulting sub was very very enjoyable. Trish had the same to say about her cutlet sandwich, and it was the second one she got at this location. I think all business owners who are exposed to Yelp should use negative reviews as a tool to help improve their operation. Had it not been for this kind gentleman's reply, I would not have returned. The staff is very rude, and they completely messed up our order. When we called to find out what happened, they blamed it on Grubhub, an increase in prices (as in an extra $5 for seedless bread), and then blamed it on the new girl that recently got hired. Best hoagies by far. I'd say we order from here almost weekly and have never had any problems at all. Have ordered online and by phone, order has always been exactly what we wanted. Everyone I've come in contact with who work here has always been very nice. Everything is fresh and rolls are the best. Prices are just about the same as any other place we have been. Definitely worth the money for these hoagies. Great seeded, crunchy Italian bread with Thuman's cold cuts. I'll get take out at least once a week, friendly staff, always consistent & taste great. I guess the people that complain are the Wawa Shorty crowd, I've been in the F & B biz for 30+ years and I know a good hoagie! However, the last 3 times I have been to this Runnemede location I was disappointed. Not sure what happened but they have cut down on the meat and cheese on the hoagie. If it is because costs have increased, they should just raise the price! I am sure I'm not the only one that has complained. I will not be trying a fourth time. THIS LOCATION MOVED IN 2013 TO 151 S BLACK HORSE PIKE IN RUNNEMEDE - about 1.5 miles from the former location. Same delicious hoagies at this outpost of Primos. I got a chicken cutlet with sharp provolone, lettuce, and tomato. The wait for 1 sandwich was 30 minutes, which is just outrageous so they lost a star for that. read more

This location has really gone down hill. They skimp on the meat and really shouldn't be able to call themselves Primos and charge Primo prices. They're also very rude and if you don't tip 20% on a take out sandwich...ONE sandwich, you get a dirty look. I'm sorry, I don't tip the lady that rings up my order at Target either, and she works a lot harder than you. I've never had an unpleasant experience with a Primo....until this one. This Primo is the closest to my home, but I'll gladly go out of my way to the Voorhees store just to avoid the inept staff of this particular location. I gave this place three chances, and all fell incredibly short of even mediocre service. Specifically, two times they messed up a small order of a single sandwich and on the most recent try, I was left on hold for four minutes before I hung up and took my business elsewhere. These hoagies are amazing! I recently ordered from the Runnemede location and certainly wouldn't go back to that one. They're popping up all over and to me part of the experience is how i am treated when i walk into a place. they made me feel like i was wasting their time which maybe if they were busy i could overlook but I was the only one in there, and then she slapped the receipt on the counter and turned her back on me without as much as a "thanks" or "have a nice day" or maybe "enjoy"...ok... I have frequented various Primo locations over the years, and this one is the best! The sandwiches are always fantastic, with meats and cheeses that are perfectly fresh no matter what time of day. I pick up sandwiches every Wednesday night on my way home from work, getting there literally minutes before they close, and the staff is always extremely friendly and greets me with enthusiasm like I'm the first customer of the day. I have 6 people in my family that have been to the new location that won't go back. They have cut the product (meat) portions to half of what a real primo is. You ( New Management) can't be loosing money, so why disgrace a solid money maker? Yeah, your busy now with customers but word of mouth and unhappy customers and it's done. You're loosing customers and have to be aware of it. I'm in the neighborhood and over the last couple months everyone saying the same thing. There trying to maximize profits which when you take a great product and minimize the quality. It equates to "Greed" Stick to Primo standards or keep losing customers. read more

How can I even begin to explain this place?? I almost have no words. I discovered this place when I was living in Bellmawr about two blocks away and At the time I was pregnant and as you can imagine... Very very hungry. That's when I came across Primos and discovered the turkey diablo . Its basically a turkey sandwich and they put these spices on it that are out of this world! I usually order it just turkey, cheese, extra spices, extra mayo .. And OMG , foodgasm. I have been addicted ever since I was pregnant ... Which was 4 years ago!! The only reason I even gave it four stars is because now I live in north nj and it's 2 hours away - the shit ill do for a damn diablo!! This is by far the best sandwich shop chain in the tri state area. Subway lol blimpes lol all jokes compared to this Philly born chain of about 15/20 shops. I have never been to any other location other the this location. The shop is tiny with only one table, so naturally they are takeout driven. Most ppl call ahead, pickup and head out. I usually get lucky and eat at the table and if it is not my day, I ll just grab a seat outside by a bench and eat it outside. I typically order a small roast beef, with white american, lettuce, tomato, oregano, blk pepper and horseradish sauce. They are very generous with the meat unlike some other chains, ::cough::subway::cough cough::: But like i said even though it's a chain it keeps to its humble roots of south Philly and is a legit sandwich shop. The bread is always great, soft in the middle and a little crusty on the outside, it has a nice chewiness to it. The roast beef is always cooked to the perfect rareness. The veggies are always fresh and ripe. The biggest plus, they serve mexican cola!!!! Def my favorite shop to get a roast beef sandwich with horseradish sauce! read more

I've been going to this Primo Hoagie location since the old owners were there. The new ownership is full of personality and customer service!! Not many hoagie shops will carry your tray orders to your car for you, this place will! The workers are very welcoming and friendly and its a such a great atmosphere. Now lets talk about the food..... The hoagies are fresh and made to order, you can watch them slice the meat and dress your hoagie, it doesn't get any fresher then that! They now offer soups, which are delicious and a perfect side to go with your sandwich. The tortellini salad is one of my favorites also. I love all the hoagies I've tried especially the Chicken Suprimo with balsamic mmm mmm. Pay no attention to the few bad reviews, go test this place out for yourself, I will bet you won't be disappointed. A+++++ all around! read more

This location is the worst!!! Came once , and they were already out of bread. Not to mention how freaking RUDE the manager was. I mean she clearly does NOT understand the concept of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Second time, I ordered two sandwiches. And to mention how disappointed I was it's beyond ridiculous. Seriously, it was nothing but bread, with a thin slice of cheese, and no more than 4 slice of meat, and a whole lot lettuce and tomatoes, cause that's how this places runs. I did however returned them without touching them, and the odasity of the manager saying she couldn't take them back because that was the sandwiches I ordered, and that's how they were supposed to be. I have eaten/ordered hoagies from here three times now, based on a recommendation that the tuna (NOT premixed in mayo) is awesome. My first experience (Dec 2019) was pretty good, there were about 3 people working behind the counter and a few customers eating in, while some were picking up. The gentleman was really pleasant and helpful, the others were meh, kind of robotic, not as pleasant. It took us a few minutes to read over the menu and we ordered the tuna diablo. At their recommendation I added a bit of oil (I rarely if ever add oil), but they said it's the classic Primo way. We ordered 2 Primos, our sandwiches came out and they were absolutely delicious! I was only able to get through half my Primo and wrapped up the other half to take home. The diablo seasoning mix was perfect, spicy but not overwhelming, and such an amazing flavor boost! All the toppings worked as well. It was definitely pricey - but I guess that's the Primo premium. So, all positive so far, except... I was really craving the diablo again, and ordered it mid-week, like the first time, it was perfect and held up fine during the 20 minute ride home. Feeling low-key obsessed with the tuna diablo, I ordered it again this Saturday (Feb 29) ...not sure if the weekend staff is different, but the sandwich disappointed all of us. The diablo seasoning was not mixed in properly, so my half had no seasoning, but my daughter's half had too much; the mayo was undetectable and there was way too much oil, to the point that it overpowered the other flavors, and overall the sandwich was not assembled properly, it kept falling apart. I don't want to give up on Primo, but I've made a mental note, not to order on weekends - I don't want to be disappointed after spending ~$11 on a lunch sandwich. read more
