Please don't ever order steak from this place... think myself can cook a better steak than this place

I was in town on business and needed a quick bite. Didn't want to stray too far from the hotel since I was exhausted from the day's activities, so I stopped here. The previous reviews are correct - very poor service and it was HOT. The air conditioning might have been broken or something. It took several minutes just to be noticed, and then once I was sat, another 15 before a waiter came to the table. I ordered simple spaghetti and meatballs and it was pretty terrible. Easily could have made better at home with store bought boxed pasta and some quality ground beef. Took forever to get the check, so overall not a great experience. I'd wished I'd stayed in my room and ordered pizza delivery. read more

Visited this little spot for dinner with my girls while on vacation and it wasn't half bad. They have self seating although we made a reservation it wasn't too busy when we got there so there was space for us to sit in a nice booth. Though it did take a while for our main server to reach us once we were greeted our orders were taken and food came out pretty quickly. My homegirl didn't like her food but also didn't want to send it back for fear of being difficult. Ok not sure if it was the manager she spoke to about it but the man was very accommodating and extremely understanding. He adjusted her tab and we finished the night off rather well. The only reason why I docked 2 stars was the length it took for us to get our server to us (after being acknowledged by a server from another section) and because I ordered risotto that was supposed to have scallops but didn't. Being that the risotto was still delightful I didn't complain but I definitely wish I could have tasted it as depicted on the menu. I'd definitely suggest the mini crab cakes but skip the truffle fries. The lychee martini was perfection and the Italian rum cake is a must. Hope to visit again soon. read more

TERRIBLE service but good food. I go here often. They never check in with you. You'll be dying of thirst and they won't bring you water or a drink. Also they frequently mess up orders. Good food but beware. read more

I ordered the meatballs spaghetti pasta. For a $21 plate of pasta it was disappointing because I make better pasta at home myself. The pasta was bland and call and there were two tiny little meatballs thrown in. Wow this place is really come along way awful read more

I would give ZERO STARS if I could I haven't experienced service this awful in a very long time. My party and I sat and watched waiters wait hand and foot and several patrons, meanwhile our drinks weren't refilled NOT EVEN ONCE. We were here for at least an hour. Food was just okay at best. This is our second visit to Primos. We were happy the first time and they did not disappoint today. The service (Alex) has been very prompt and very friendly. We split a caprese salad and the Chicken Alfredo. Salad was as good as you could expect. The Alfredo was excellent!! read more

I would LOVE YOU to give a full 5 stars to you, but your service was incompetent. Right inside the Doubletree Hotel, minutes away walking distance from the Beach. Really nice and cozy place to have a nice lunch or dinner. Went for Lunch. Ordered a Penne a la Vodka with Salmon - Took about 20 minutes (which was ok since I was not in a rush). They offered a small basket of bread to start. Portion is pretty big, Chunks of Salmon (very tender, medium well) sauce was made to perfection. Price is surely affordable (Under $ 15.00) The only thing that i got disappointing was the service, I understand it was one waiter taking care of 4 tables. But the speed of his service was SUPER slow (Also he was too busy texting or checking some scores on his phone). Took me about 20 minutes to get his attention and get a check. read more

Conflicted. It's the only word that comes to mind, as I reflect on my experience at Primo's and how I walked away voting sweet potato fries as one of the best things on the menu. At an Italian joint. The meatballs everyone raves about are tender, well spiced and hearty. A great starter, and to you yelpiverse, I extend my thanks. Flatbreads were fine, and my prosciutto panini had just the right amount of buttery ham and squeaky mozzarella, but nothing jumped off the plate and slapped the "Wow" out of me. Couple average fare with an absolutely butchered Old Fashioned ("I thought it was whiskey and amaretto" Nope, that's a Godfather -Ed.) and unexceptional (not bad, mind you; just nothing noteworthy) service to get a very run-of-the-mill Italian dinner. Ciao Ragazzi! Kudos to our waitress; afternoon on Day 3 of Phish's Miami NYE run. Needless to say, most of us couldn't even walk let alone decide on a place close by to eat. Their bloody mary was STIFF. HELLO! It may or may not have saved my life...just sayin'.. I had the caprese sandwich...hit the spot a way I never thought possible. I think my body was deprived for too long that it took this for all it was worth. The fries were amazing too. Not soggy but not too dry and burnt. The place is pretty small and they seemed a little overwhelmed when six of us rolled in...but they managed. We wanted breakfast but apparently brunch strictly stops at 11 a.m. in Miami. Weird. There is a lot to choose from in this hotel/commerical complex...this place shouldn't be missed. They have a crazy happy hour too! 6 people = $350.00 $60/per person The food was AVERAGE and unmemorable. It was hot and we were feeling uncomfortable. Was hoping for an everyday type monday-thursday Italian restaurant with good enough grub to make it a weekly dinner spot, but don't think that's going to happen. Our waiter pushed the bottles of wine on us and the bill was mediocre for the quality of food. Can't understand the high reviews. They had a lobster special, whole lobster over bed of spaghetti, for $25.00, and that was really good, but then what happened to the bill??? So, if anything, go in for the lobster special or lobster day, test my theory. Will the bill reflect what the special advertises???? read more

A nice late night eats restaurant located in the Doubletree Grand near the Biscayne Marriott Hotel and Margaret Pace Park. Primo is a small restaurant and bar. They are open until 1am Monday-Friday and 12-midnight on Sunday. They have a great small bar with cold draft beer. The bartenders are friendly and the service is great. I had one of their thin crust pepperoni pizzas. I will need to come back and try the pasta. Make sure you feed the parking meters and buy a parking ticket or it will cost you $25.00 to park. read more

Burgers and turkey burgers/ fries and yam fries...... FRICKEN AMAZING! You might not think to order burgers from an Italian place, but definitely the best things on the menu. Also the tuna is great and healthy :) Crab cakes not a fan... Too much filling and not enough crab. Also didn't like the seafood pasta will all the different seafood. Didn't taste fresh to me. Get the burgers haha! We love the delivery... Extremely fast. Beware if you eat in the restaurant... Extremely hot... Temperature wise... Ahhhh I was so uncomfortable... Seriously... Cute ambiance, nice and attentive service, and easy location from my hotel. Food was good and definitely fulfilled the comfort food craving, but the marinara was a little salty for my taste. The feel good, neighborhood atmosphere you provide makes me feel like I'm in a television show about a local bar / restaurant where everybody knows my name. After a few days and drinks, the waiters will know what I'm going to order; and I get a nice ego boost from them vying for my attention with extra shots in my mixed drinks, kisses on the hand, and "anything I can do for you, let me know" spoken in Italian AND French! Seriously though, if I ever have the chance to live in Miami, I'd be a regular at this place. Great food, reasonably priced, HUGE portions that allow you to get up to 3 meals from one purchase. Best meatballs in Miami. The pasta is incredible, the risotto is amazing, the bruschetta, the deserts, just great italian food all around. The owner came by our table and was super nice. Parking sucks as you basically have to valet at the hotel but the food makes up for it. Don't miss this place. read more

Sat at the bar for 15+ minutes prior to being spoken to. Had to flag down a random waitress to place a to go order. Never offered a menu or something as simple as water while I waited. When I finally was given attention, the bartender was extremely rude. Wouldn't return to this place based on the service alone. Pitiful - wish I could give negative stars. read more

I've always noticed Primo's but I had never stopped in for a bite until recently. It's a dimly lit cozy little restaurant with a solid variety on the menu. They've got a bar too w/a flat screen showing local sports for the most part. So, if you're not dining w/someone, you can always come sit at the bar and hang out w/the friendly staff and muse over the current game. They've got a decent happy hour too, so I'm sure that keeps most of the working patrons happy. If I lived in that building, Primo's would definitely be my Cheers. read more

Not quite a 5....more like a 4.79 The waiter was friendly and efficient. In fact, he was really good! The food was fresh, full of flavor and reasonably priced. This small restaurant may not be a romantic location but it was good for a date night. Though 7 days later, neither of us can remember the exact entrees we ate, we do recall the carpaccio appetizer. Over price for crappy service from a very bad bartender...she did NOT know what she was doing. Okay, this was the bar at the hotel. We went here after dinner because it was right at the hotel so we didn't need to go far after a few cocktails, but what a mistake!! The bartender, Angie was horrible....she had no people skill or anything. We tried to joke with her but man was it tough. I order a simple Malibu Bay Breeze (Malibu rum, cranberry juice and pineapple juice) very simple drink...when I got it...it tasted funny...I had to ask her what she put in it...she said "grapefruit" WTF?! My friend order a cosmo drink...instead of putting lime in it she put in LEMON juice! And when asked what she put it is and corrected her...her comment wasn't "oh I am sorry, let me make you a correct drink" NO she instead said "well, that's how I was taught to make it." I had to google it and show her the that she was taught WRONG.... We decided to mix it up a little and try to make our own drink combo because we didn't trust her and she really did not seem to know what she was doing...needless to say the experience left a very sour taste in our mouth. read more

I have been coming to Primos since it opened. I live in the building so I eat here often! Primos food is consistently delicious. The salads are all amazing but I love the spinach salad the best. The clams in red sauce is my favorite appetizer. I often order a fish special and it's always cooked perfectly and with tons of flavor. Pasta bolognese is my favorite comfort food. The mini crab cakes was the only thing about this meal that was good. We ordered the Veal Marsala and Veal Cannelloni. The Marsala tasted like it had been frozen and had no taste. The sauce didn't seem to marry with the veal too well. The veal in the cannelloni looked and tasted like it had been run through a blender. Decided to try out the hotel restaurant since we traveled all day and were a little tired. Glad we did...if you try this place you must get the meatball appetizer. Although it's too much for two people - It's really delicious and the meat is so tender. You won't be disappointed. My wife and I went here as soon as we dropped our stuff of at the Doubletree hotel. I had the sea food risotto. Man, it was GREAT. The best risotto I've ever had. The server wasn't friendly at all. I work in the area and so this is our usual lunch spot. They have nice lunch specials that are $10 and come with a soft drink so depending on the chef's specials, usually 4-5 to choose from, they are pretty good. We've never had a bad lunch here. They also have nice happy hour specials but I'm gone by then but I'd like to come back to try it. Service is pretty good. Make sure you ask for their oven toasted bread; it's full of carbs but ohh so good. read more

Food was good but service was rude. Not expected from a place with this price point. You can do better than be short and curt with your customers. Also, please don't automatically charge 18% gratuity. I wanted to give less than 10% tip based on that service but had no choice, unless I spoiled my party's mood by arguing to reduce the %. First, Manuel and Oscar are the worst manager and bartender EVER! They can't make a decent Mojito!! After a day at the Yacht show I couldn't get a basic cocktail. Excellent food, super reasonable prices! A group of five of us went to eat here upon our late arrival to Miami. We were seated right away and had pretty decent service, despite the bad flirting by the waiter, who's first language was not English, which I think contributed to the bad flirting...) But anyway, they had a list of specials for $16.99 which included soup or salad, main course and dessert. Their special of the day was a 1 1/2 lb lobster with pasta, including soup/salad and dessert for only $24.99!!! We all shared their signature appetizer, the meatballs...and let me tell you, best.....meatballs...ever! Hats off to them. Everything ordered was delicious, including the drinks. We were able to change out the house dessert (tiramisu) for other desserts. There wasn't one item we all ordered that was bad. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area and doesn't feel like venturing far away from the hotel. read more

So glad we did.. the service was great, the food was outstanding.. great fun vibe in the entire restaurant... Our table had the pesto pasta with chicken and the Rico's Sunday gravy.. which was outstanding.. The warm flat bread and Wedge salad was how we starting our evening.. The other night, my good friend Carlos and I came down to Primo's to have a glass of wine and to catch up. We ended up sharing a pizza -- the margarita with arugula and parmesan (or was it the prosciutto without the prosciutto ?). Let me tell you: it was great!
