Dish came w a potato and an vegetable, but when I asked to substitute for parm risotto (and eliminate both sides) there was still an $8 upcharge. No children's menu which was a bummer - had to order an entire $17 pizza since their wasn't much else for kids. This was our first time dining at Primo's but our client had frequented them any time he visited Miami. He chose well. It's a nicely decorated lounge located inside the Doubletree Grand Hotel. It's a perfect place to meet, have lunch or dinner, have a cocktail at the bar, alongside a small bite to eat. Our waiter recommended the Pear & Gorgonzola salad because I told him I wanted something light. It was delicious and filling. Very good choice when having to do a lot of talking while eating. I also added shrimp to my salad which were tender and juicy. My husband wanted something a bit more heavy so he ordered the Grilled Salmon plate. His was delicious as well. The servers are extremely friendly, the food was pretty good and the prices are great (compared to the other options). The first day we all had coffee, yogurt parfait, a breakfast wrap and the grand bagel with a side of sausage and a side of salmon - our total was around $35-40 for 3 of us. Today we had the yogurt parfait, potatoes, sausage bacon, coffee, an omelet and the grand bagel and our total was $50. We tried this place out for dinner tonight. Although smaller than I had anticipated it does have a nice vibe to it. It was pretty busy so there wasn't much room but we did get a table pretty quickly. Our waiter was friendly and gave us good service. I ordered the chicken parmigiana panini with fries. The portions were huge! I could only eat half of the sandwich. The french fries were pretty good. Both bartenders were "busy" and I didn't get any attention for the first 5 minutes. I asked for a draft beer recommendation. My bartender just read out the list - Brooklyn Lager, Miller Lite, Peroni, Rica, Blue Moon. I asked for the Rica - described as a local wheat IPA - it seemed the most interesting. She said they didn't have any! "I'll have the Blue Moon then." "Sorry, we are out of Blue Moon." " Well, what do you have then?" "The other three." "What's the Brooklyn lager like?" "It is from New York - Brooklyn. A dark lager." "Ok let's have that. And can I please see the dinner menu?" She plopped my drink and a menu in front of me, and I ordered a rigatoni bolognese, then went back to watching college basketball. The Brooklyn lager was quite good, but the pasta was undercooked and the sauce too tomatoey. The saving grace, besides my beer, was the house toast served with my pasta. Came here as a recommendation from the staff at the Hilton. This place is located inside the Doubletree just at the entrance. We were promptly treated upon entry and seated fast. The waiter was there soon afterwards to get the drink order. We asked for a recommendation for an app and selected the sausage and peppers. The drinks came out quick along with the bread and olive oil. Then right afterwards the app arrived. It was a large portion of Italian sausages with peppers and onions in a tomato based sauce. The appetizer was amazing. They warned it was spicy but I thought the flavor was just right. I ordered the chicken parmigiana for my main. It came out hot and they had fresh cheese to top it off with. The plate came with pasta and the chicken. The sauce was tasty and all around a good choice. I tend to avoid any restaurant located in or being a part of a hotel as is Primo's Italian Kitchen & Bar which is in but I don't think a part of the Double Tree Gande. But, as I was hungry and there is actually very little else close by, I went in to eat. Primo's, to my delight, has a decent most friendly atmosphere about it, complete menus along with daily board specials. For my meal I went for their "Classic Caesar" along with a market priced veal chop with mushrooms. Indeed, the Caesar was classic with romaine, crouton and a parmesan but the cheese was a true reggiano, having that exceptional flavor that one can only seem to get by starting off with unpasteurized milk. As for the veal chop, it came in a most generous cut done specifically as I had ordered and not just topped with a singular type of mushroom but with an enhancing sauce consisting of a variety of mushrooms. Though there is nothing really stellar about the place or exceptionally good about the food, still far better than average and a Four Stars to me. read more

Since it is a hotel restaurant, it was fairly intimate, and at the time that we went, it was pretty crowded, with only enough space for us to sit at the bar. It was a beautiful restaurant, I wish it was on the other side, maybe you would have had views of the bay. We later learned that there is "outdoor" (in the mall I think) if needed. The menu was of fair sized. I got a fish entree, and it was awesome, I only wish it was a little bigger. My love got the steak dish. The food was good, but it was a bit overpriced. I suppose that is what you get for the area. Portions were small, but again, I guess that's what you get for the area as well I think that we are probably a wee bit too greedy. Nonetheless, good food, high prices, smaller than what we would like portions. Can't say that I would purposely return if I was in the area. read more

However I will never be coming here again.. we had a myriad of dishes- the panzerotti and the pasta fagioli (the only decent dishes), proceeded by penne alla vodka with chicken (to me it tasted like frozen chicken reheated and that taste took over the entire dish, the sauce itself was not flavorful), fettuccine Alfredo (same thing with the chicken), and the spaghetti bolognese which is a simple meat sauce dish which again had nearly no flavor to it. The hotel sent us here for breakfast, charming little place located in the lobby of the Grand Double Tree the staff is great, friendly and helpful. We ordered the Premo omelette, (certainly enough for 2 people) 3 eggs, tomatoes, onions and spinach. Very tasty and not over cooked. Also ordered the Smoked salmon cream cheese bagel served with onions and capers (my go to breakfast when I cannot definitely decide what I want to eat). It's hard to mess that up and it was superb. The bagel was lightly toasted and spread with cream cheese chilled not room temperature. Flavorful and slightly aromatic smoked salmon followed by the onions and the capers that did not try to steal the show. I sat outdoors as I browsed their Miami Spice and dinner menu to order some bites with my bottle of Chianti on this breezy Thursday evening. The service was impeccable and the dishes each boasted flavor within every bite ensuring my trip here was worthwhile. The bread was crunchy and buttery with the perfect amount of garlic. I do recommend saving some for later to dip in your pasta dish if that's the direction you're going in. I started off with the bruschetta which was topped with marinated tomatoes diced atop the crunchy bread with shaved Parmesan placed above. Even though it was messy, it was super delicious and worth it. The fried calamari and zucchini dish is the perfect mix of robust vegetables lightly buttered and fried with the robust marinara sauce to accompany it. I loved the mix of both and the fresh flavor of each bite with the sauce. The wine our server paired was perfect as I nibbled on these appetizers without feeling overly full yet totally satisfied. I finished it off with an espresso as I walked off my meal by their pier located at the rear of the building. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and look forward to trying more dishes. read more

We were in and out quickly in order to arrive at Kaysea Center in time for game. We ordered meatball appetizer, pear salad and gnocchi. All were wonderful. We started with drinks (typical Moscow Mule for hubs and Dry Goose Martini for me), and I have to admit that the martini really crept up on me, as I ordered a second and had a great buzz shortly thereafter. They bring bread and oil out, which was tasty since we were starving. We then ordered the meatballs which we so delicious (and honestly so filling!). I ordered the ahi tuna, which was really cooked to perfection. I think hubs ordered a steak, but honestly have no idea (probably the martini influence here). I am surprised by the lower reviews. I suppose that is the Miami version of dining al fresco. A very pleasant surprise. The food was very good, the portions were generous, and the staff was very attentive. I asked to change the sauce that was served with my entree and there was absolutely no issue with the change. We did feel hurried and ate our dinner at a nice pace. I also felt pressured towards the end to purchase Dessert or coffee or more drinks.
