This is a such fun, European-style cafe and will fulfill all your fancy-coffee & people-watching needs! The decor is super eclectic and sets a quirky tone. The traffic in this lil spot varies so much by the day and time. Make sure to come early in the afternoon if you want to study, as it gets crowded and loud by dinner/evening. There is Wi-Fi available and plenty of outlets, though the table heights are a bit odd--either very low or really quite high. Make sure to check the basement if there isn't any space on the first floor. There is also a smattering if tables outside, perfect for a warm summer evening. However, this cafe is adjacent to a large hospital so be prepared for many very loud sirens m, should you choose to enjoy the outdoors. We got the macchiato, which was topped with the loveliest foam. The tiramisu was also delicious--the mascarpone was sweet and creamy and the biscuits were the perfect balance of coffee-soaked-but-not-dissolving. I've found that the dessert quality sometimes can vary based on the time of your visit though (Sunday morning was not as good as Friday night, in my limited experience), perhaps because they sit in the display fridge for longer during more unconventional dessert times. There's tons of seating both inside and outside, this would be a perfect spot for students from Fordham to come study but unfortunately there is always loud club music blasting and it is inescapably loud even when sitting outside. Terrible service . Ordered a coffee and somehow i spilled all my coffee, told the waiter to bring me another one and she told me i still have to pay for both , which i ended up paying for both . Their service is terrible and slow and the glasses most of the time are dirty. read more

coffee was great but the service was very odd. i was basically ignored for the whole hour i was there. had to ask for the menu twice, then was given just a drink menu so i asked for the food one. after that no one came back to get my food order or to check up despite the servers going around to the other tables. i should have just left in the first 20 minutes i spent waiting (i had gone inside to order upon arrival and was told someone would bring me the menu outside) but i was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. when i went in to ask for the menu the second time, a server looked me up & down pretty rudely which confirmed my initially feeling that they did not want me there. i'm not sure why that would be the case as i had done absolutely nothing to warrant that reaction. the only reason i can think of is that i'm a woman with tattoos & a significant amount of facial piercings. that being said, i'm aware of the negative connotations that come with looking this way so i try extra hard to be as polite and kind as possible. guess that didn't really matter in this case. i'm from queens and i'm working in the neighborhood for the month so i was looking for a reliable place to get coffee. but i don't think i'll be coming back to this spot. read more

I have visited this place a few times, and instead of improving place it's going from decent to Bronx average coffee shop. Nice location and outdoor seating, good tea selection, but that's it. Weak espresso. Small or large Macchiato or lattes served with single shot espresso (!?). Sweets are made with former Yugoslavian recipes, bland and unhealthy (think margarine). Lack of cleanliness in general. Laid back waitresses and restroom out of order most of the time don't help the ambiance. read more

If I could give this place a negative 5 star i would. If you're a person of color and want to feel uncomfortable, this is the place for you. My best friend and I came here today and the people that work there made us so uncomfortable we ended up leaving. The workers kept looking at us and giving us weird looks and the server had a attitude from the start. We didn't even stay 15mins. I ordered a frappe and the server brought me a cold cup of coffee, basically an iced coffee with no ice :). I asked another server if maybe they did things differently here and they didn't make their frappes frozen and she said that they did so I asked if she could take it back and fix it because there wasn't any ice in it. When she took it back I watched the barista make it and he was scooping out the ice as if he was pissed that I returned the drink(slamming the ice scooped into the ice holder. He stared at me the whole time while making it. She brought the drink back and it basically was they same, not at all a frozen drink. I was so pissed I chugged the drink we payed and left. It seemed like they didn't want us to be there! Let's face it we were the only non white people there. We felt such an unwelcome vibe!!! Just don't go here, don't waste your time! Just got an iced coffee and cannoli from here. The drink looks delicious and has nice presentation. I haven't yet tried the cannoli (and don't know if I will). My issue isn't with the food or the service, which was friendly. It's that the guy who was preparing the drink and the guy who was handling the pastries were working with bare hands and not wearing their masks properly. Drink guy had his nose exposed and pastry guy was pretty much using his as a chin guard (mouth barely covered). This doesn't look or feel good to the customer during a pandemic. It also seems careless. Yes, I realized I could have said something, but I've also seen some of the confrontations that come out of asking people to wear their masks properly and decided that I'll vote with my feet in the future. Not sure if I'll try the drink and cannoli, but I probably won't come back here anytime soon. read more

I was excited to find a sit down coffee shop in The Bronx (as there are not many) but was quickly disappointed when I walked in. This place lacks good customer service and warmth. My husband and I did NOT feel welcomed. The menu and selection is basic and can be greatly improved. Although this is located in the historically racist area of Little Italy it's 2020 so I thought I would give it a shot. This was definitely a mistake! Came here twice on the labor day weekend. I was on a coffee house hunt for independent, hip, artsy, and laptop-friendly places and came across Prince Coffee House on Yelp. Given that it's in the Bronx Little Italy (Read: Arthur Ave) and close to Fordham University (Read: guess it must be young people and homework friendly), I decided to give it a try. Pros: 1. Good ambience (compared to the rest of the Bronx coffeehouses this place has tasteful decor and music); 2. Good coffee (GREAT iced mocha on my first try, rich and creamy with a kick of bittersweet chocolate taste, and good caramel iced latte on my second); 3. Spacious Cons: 1. They DON'T have bakery items but only desserts (blueberry cheesecake and tiramisu are okay, just add-on items to complement your coffee); 2. Outlets only available near a big common wooden table and probably downstairs in the closed study area; 3. I'd hope to line up and pay at front after placing the order instead of having a confusing "Is he a barista or cashier or server and who's taking my order should I tip" system. Saving the cost of hiring waiters might also bring down the price of drinks. Also please add a food menu (which is only desserts in this case); waitress asked me to sit down first, but I have to come back again and take a look at the dessert display because I can't remember. Overall this is a cute place in the Bronx neighborhood. I'd say it's more suitable for an afternoon catch-up with friends or a coffee date. read more

We stopped into Prince for some coffee and dessert after an amazing dinner on Arthur Ave. I decided to go with the hot chocolate to get some sweetness in me, my boyfriend has his usual black coffee with sugar. They both were delicious!!! The ambiance was so amazing and felt like a true coffee shop. They have cool trinkets hanging all over and the place was very clean. I've been coming to Prince ever since it opened and I've always consistently had a great experience. The coffee is great and though it is a little expensive, what else do you expect? It's New York City! The slightly higher prices definitely are made up for, however, with the atmosphere you get at Prince. The decor is spot on and looks like a spot you'd find in a chic Manhattan neighborhood. The service can be a little confusing (i.e. whether to order at the counter or wait for a server) but either way you choose to order, your coffee will come out quickly. Their coffee is always great and they have a few unique drinks (the after eight mint drink and the Turkish coffee are good)! They have a great deal for $4 as well that includes a macchiato (you can ask for a flavored one) and a spongy coconut cake. read more

The only unfortunate part involved me leaving my backpack there and not realizing it until I got home 30 minutes later. Yet another NY place that makes cap's like a Latte and says when you return it asking for less milk "well you ordered a cappuccino..." yes I know... there appears to be an epidemic need to fill cups to capacity with steamed milk... I was so excited to see a new coffee shop open up in the area. I came here several times with guests or alone and always enjoyed it. Although, the prices are a bit steep for what they serve, I didn't mind because the espresso was really that good. I've never had a problem on my first 6-7 visits (and that's a lot being they've only been open for less than a month so far) - except the one time I came and sat in with two of my guests and our server (tatted girl) didn't even once bother to check in on our table or even ask us if we were interested in anything else like dessert perhaps? Anyway I didn't let that one incident bother me, I didn't want the dessert anyway but it's a servers job to check on your table at least once. (And my dumbass even left her a 50% tip. Yes 50!) I came in here Saturday April 9th at 4pm and ordered the only thing I ever ordered from here. A double macchiato. Every other time, I've paid 4$ flat for it. This time, the same tattooed girl told me its 5.50$???? Lol I'm not paying that for two shots of espresso especially when every other time I came in, it was 4$ flat. Your coffee is expensive to begin with. And because of this one incident where she continued to give me an attitude and tell me that I am wrong and not even help the situation but just let me storm out, definitely makes me not want to return. Because of this, they are willing to lose a what would of been a lifetime customer along with all the guests I've brought or could've brought. Just came here at night to do some work and realized this is not the ideal coffee shop for that. The chairs were not made for sitting for long periods and the tables were, for the most part tiny. It was hard to fit anything more than my computer comfortably. The espresso I got was good and since I live so close I'll probably be back because its open quite late but just not a place to spend hours comfortably. read more
