    Country Fried Steak

Great diner in the farmer's market, I imagine this place gets busy during the weekend but we came on a weekday and it was quick and easy. The country fried steak was great, our waitress was quick to refill our coffee. Inside is not much seating, and the only windows face the inside of the farmer's market. Will be back here to try more menu items.

Wonderful country kitchen with fresh everything served with a smile. I had a delightful breakfast. The coffee was perfect, not burnt from sitting in the pot too long and my cup was constantly refreshed. The eggs were fluffy and cooked just right. Everything was hot when it came. A great way to start the day after church. Plus you have the farmers market and shops right next door.

Had such a great breakfast at Princess Anne Grill with my awesome husband this morning! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The corned beef hash with eggs brought back such nostalgic flavors, and the waffles and eggs really hit the spot. Definitely a cozy local favorite worth visiting again soon. We are glad they are open again.

We are so happy that the Grill is back open! Service was excellent. Our server Kelly only started four days before and she was perfect. Food was even better than we remembered! I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs while my girl had the Country Skillet. We will be coming back on a regular basis.

We were a party of 3 and walked and right away we found a booth and seated ourselves and was fine! Waitress came over right away and greeted us which was nice! Order drinks coffee and tea with water! Took our order steak and eggs good just lack a bit of seasoning and order waffle and eggs and sausage links that was excellent tasted very good!Western omelet very tasty and portion was good biscuit and sausage links tasted good! Overall prices decent and our waitress got our food out less than 30 minutes which was good for 3 orders! Would definitely recommend this Princess Anne County Grill and definitely great place to visit!

We found this gem during a trip to the Virginia Beach Farmers Market. The restaurant felt cozy, but looked so modern, the service was excellent, we were treated like family and the food was delicious! They had a breakfast and lunch menu (breakfast is served all day) which was perfect because I was craving breakfast food and my daughter wanted lunch! Everything came out promptly and was made to perfection. We will definitely be back for more. I hear their omelets are amazing!

I love the food here I've been there twice the pot roast was fabulous there's soup bean soup loved it as I love country cooking and it brought me back to the farm cooking growing up. The people there were so welcoming and friendly and I will be back to have more lunches in the future.

One of my favorite breakfast/lunch stops in Redmill area!!! The food is exactly what it's name suggests, County Grill and it's damn good! If your looking for a classic breakfast or lunch this should be your go to stop! I've gotten many sandwiches on their lunch menu and I always get there Waffle breakfast! I've been coming here since I was a kid and I've never ever been disappointed. The staff and the service is great!!! Every waitress is beyond sweet! The overall feel and ambiance is again just like the title suggest your old time county country grill! I always want to steal the wall decor off the wall that's how cute it is! I have brought so many of my friends/family here and they love it! Would 100% recommend! It's also very affordable!

The Princess Anne County Grill is located inside the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market. They are located on the western side of the Farmer's Market and is across from the Farmer's Market office. There is ample parking available, including additional parking behind the buildings. My visit here was for lunch on July 25, 2021. We had come to check out the place the day prior, but the online info was incorrect in terms of their business hours, which I have since submitted for updating. We had gotten there around 3 pm the day before, but they actually close at 2 pm now instead of 4 pm. Their hours are now 9 am to 2 pm seven days a week year round. We came around noon on July 25, 2021. We were greeted by one of the servers and was notified the wait would be about 20 minutes, which ended up being pretty close. The inside was packed and the outdoor tables they had were full as well. Once a table was ready, we were seated inside. After being seated, it took a while for a server to come to the table. One of the servers that was taking food outside to one of the tables asked if anyone had been over, which nobody had been. She said she'd be with us after getting that taken care of. In the interim, one of the other servers came over and got our drink orders. Shortly after, our server came over to the table and asked if we were ready to order. I ended up going with the Sunday Blue Plate Special, which is Oven Roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, and Green Beans. My mom went with the Egg Salad Sandwich with coleslaw as the side. After about 10 minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food for both of us did look good and came out hot. The turkey, mashed potatoes and grave, and roll with butter were really good. I did have some of the green beans, but they just seemed too soft. It tasted like the green beans were canned. My mom said that the egg salad sandwich was okay, but it was bland and didn't have much flavor to it. Overall, it was okay for us, but nothing that would wow me into a rating higher than what I have rated today. For the amount of turkey that was on the blue plate special, it wasn't that big for $9.99 as it was just one slice of turkey. Even though I am local, I don't come this way too often. I did have the feel that the place could also be a bit of a dive, as there were many locals that the servers were talking to as they come in or out. It's possible that it may have been an off day there on this visit, but I will try them again in the future to see if this visit was not the normal for them.

Man. Why did we wait so long to go back here for brunch! I've forgotten how good this place was. Reminds me of my grandparents cooking! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly and attetive to our 3 kids (3 and under in age). Desserts are amazing! Blueberry, cherry and apple pies was the dessert of the day. And any of the pies you can make it à la mode! In regards to omelettes....may I recommend the philly steak and cheese with a side of hot sauce!! Ugghhh so good!

My brother, his gf, and I stopped by here on our trip to the farmer's market to get some breakfast. I was originally going to wait for lunch at TASTE, but they were "STARVING!!!" Lol! At this restaurant, you seat yourself and the server brings your menus. They have a great breakfast selection. I have been for their Lunch/Dinner, and I have to say, breakfast is definitely their specialty. The prices are great for both menus, though, and the servers are all very kind. Oh, and btw, my boyfriend's picture is on the wall here, along with many others, for completing the Eggzilla challenge! That's where you eat 6 eggs, 3 cheeses, a double order of toast, on a bed of home fries. He ate all of that.... then ordered a stack of pancakes. LOL! Once we sat down, I ordered a Waffle Combo with orange juice, scrambled eggs, home fries, and a biscuit. The waffle was a little well done, but still tasty. My eggs and biscuit were pretty dry though, and the "home fries" did not impress me. They definitely weren't "home-style". They were basically tiny, unseasoned french fries. Even with salt and pepper, I didn't really like them. My brother got the Country Fried Steak combo with over easy eggs and a bagel with cream cheese. No complaints from him. He will eat anything! His gf got the steak, egg, and cheese sandwich on white with smothered home fries. She enjoyed her food as well. Maybe I should have got my home fries smothered, cuz hers looked really good with cheese, gravy, peppers, and onion. I'll keep coming here when I'm at the farmer's market because the location is so convenient, the people are warm and welcoming, and the food is pretty cheap. I really do like the vibe here, but with the food, I suppose you get what you pay for.

This is our family local place to eat breakfast. It's small. But packs greatness for my small family. The service is always great. The food is country style and always good.

If you're looking for a mediocre breakfast In an unwelcome environment then this is the place for you. Before you make plans be sure you are accompanied by persons of the race accepted by this "grill" where the bacon is baked and coffee refills are only provided to worthy patrons.

When we entered we were greeted right away by the friendly staff. There weren't many people inside so we got a table right away. The menu was pretty simple and right to the point. Lunch and dinner was all that was being served, so we decided on the maple smash burgers. The manager Mark was super nice and gave us complimentary tomato soup and house made parmesan chips. The soup was actually very tasty! I'd get it again. The chips weren't appealing to either of us, they were pretty soggy or maybe a little stale. I just ate them in the soup. My friend refused to eat them. Lol. She's a picky eater, me not so much!! Our waiter Noah was very informative, friendly, and upbeat! He was awesome during the whole visit, and kept our drinks refilled. We both enjoyed our burgers. The fries were soggy, very similar to the chips. So that was a no go. But the in house made ranch was tasty. My friend enjoyed her blackberry sage margarita. It was a pretty drink. The chocolate chip cookie was soft and good! Definitely a must try. They're opening a bagel place directly next door, so we were given a complimentary coupon for a free bagel once they open! That was great!! The checkout process was simple and our food came out in a decent amount of time. They serve pasta, sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, salads, several desserts, and more. The visit was enjoyable and the staff made us feel welcomed! Check them out!! 5 stars for service! 4 stars for the food!!

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

I have had a few visits here now, and the most recent visit was on January 12, 2026. At the beginning of each new year, I like to try a place that I have never been to before, so January 1, 2026, was the first time I had come here. My mom was with me. Depending on when you come in general, parking can be limited at times with all the other businesses in this shopping center. Upon first look at the place from the outside, you can see the name and logo pretty easily. It looks similar to other places that happen to be in this same shopping center. We got here around 8 am on that first visit. When we came inside, it wasn't too busy yet, likely due to others probably still sleeping after being up past midnight for the new year. The inside of the place has a modern diner type of vibe, which fits the restaurant well. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Brooke came over pretty quickly and asked us what we would like to drink. I just do my usual of water with lemon, and my mom had gotten coffee. It would take us a little while to choose since there lots of good items to choose from. When she came back to check again, we were ready this time. I figured I'd get something I don't normally do, so I went for the French Toast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked apples. My mom decided to go with the Ultimate Skillet with rye toast. The food would come out pretty quick. It was around ten minutes or so. Both breakfast entrees looked really good and they were hot. It felt like an indulgence when I started on the French toast since it has been a long time since having it. The baked apples were great too, and something else I don't normally have. I will note that I didn't get a blood sugar spike after this meal either that day. My mom enjoyed the Ultimate Skillet as much as I did with the French Toast Combo. After the experience from that first visit, we came back to try the lunch/dinner menu options for dinner that day. This visit was on January 12, 2026. After being seated initially, we moved over to a table since the booths were a bit tight. Kellie was our server on this visit. She asked us what we wanted to have to drink, and I went with water with lemon and my mom went with a coke. After taking some time to look over the menu, we were ready to order. My mom decided not to have too much, so she just went with the Loaded Baked Potato side item. I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich with the homemade chips as the side. Just like the last time, it took about ten minutes or so for the food to come out. The sandwich I had was really good, and so were the homemade chips. This time, this meal did spike my blood sugar levels, but it was so good. My mom told me afterwards that the loaded baked potato she had come out cold. It was then that we let the server know, and she asked if she wanted to get it redone. She said no but wanted to take it home instead. The server did take off the cost of that item. It was likely due to it sitting before my sandwich was ready to bring them out together. Mom did get a box to bring it home and had it later that evening, and she said it was good when it was heated up at home too. Overall, we have had a few very good experiences here. The food and service were good, and the issue for my mom was handled well too. That shows they truly care about the experience of the visitors here. Both menus may be just two sides, but there is quite a bit to choose from. I think anyone would find something they would like here. There is one thing I want to note when it comes to paying. There is a 3% surcharge added to the total including taxes if you use a credit card instead of cash. In the end, if you are looking for a diner type of place, this one is worth checking out.
