Tonight was our first time here. Cones to find out they haven't been open for very long. I had the pita sandwich with fries and a drink. Plenty food for the money. Very clean and the customers service was spot on. I had it to go so I can go home to eat it. The food was very good, next I will do it without pickles because I think they over powered the meat and the sauce. I would go back. read more

Princess Pita appears to offer a substantial array of Mediterranean-style (I use style sparingly) Gyros. Shawarma, Kababs, Falafel, and Kofta. They offer a simple décor, laid back and casual atmosphere and clean and friendly service. We were glad to see the arrival of a Mediterranean eatery near our home. First off, whoever decided pickles were part of a Gyro? Apparently Princess Pita does! This particular ingredient throws the whole of traditional Mediterranean herbs and spices use into a tailspin - actually a taste spin. It just ain't right! While on the subject of legitimate Gyros, their restrictive use of appropriate and traditional herbs and spices that throws their Gyros taste pretty much out the window. Where's the cumin, where's the marjoram - these Gyros lack some of the most fundamental traditional Mediterranean flavors out there! The tzatziki sauce is watery and bland (more like a Grecian Ranch?), very little if or any cucumber or garlic. One should be able to taste the old country if: Lamb, beef, garlic, oregano, cumin, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, salt, red onion, lettuce, tomato, feta and tzatziki sauce are used in the appropriate accepted practice. Being very familiar with the cuisine from a family member and having been Mediterranean foodie for many, many years, I was unpleasantly surprised. Princess Pita, sorry, but your Gyros offerings are run of the mill at best. We'll be back to try the rest of your offerings, other Mediterranean cuisine items, maybe their pizzas, and definitely the Arabic Maneesh, and - please reassess on advertising "The Finest Food in AZ"???. We love Mediterranean food so we decided to try this fairly new spot. I am so happy we did!!! First, the service was amazing. Second, the food was delicious! We got the chicken shawarma and the beef gyro. The sauce was so yummy didn't lack flavor at all. Since it as our first time they gave us a couple of pieces of the oh so delightful baklava. I didn't have very high expectations to this place since I passed by many times. I decided to give it a shot though tonight and I was greatly disappointed. I ordered Dolmas and a falafel wrap, which I absolutely love when it comes to Greek food. I started with the dolmas and I will say these were very tasty. They met all of my standards for this type of entrée. However, when I moved onto the falafel wrap, this is where the disappointment hit hard. The falafel's were completely overcooked, making them dry and almost hard to make manners worse there was no tzatziki sauce to be found anywhere in the wrap, which is a must when it comes to a falafel wrap. Waiter acknowledged them and then proceeded to take their order, knowing that I walked in before them. Racism is prevalent in this restaurant. This is a great spot! I've ordered online for pickup twice, and both times, my food was ready quickly and the people there were very friendly when I went in to grab my order. I've ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken schwarma entree, and both were fresh and delicious. The restaurant is clean with lots of places to sit, though I haven't eaten at the location yet. the pricing is pretty crazy for how much food you get. almost $20 for a portion of meat, a little side salad, a side of cheap rice and some hummus. there's literally no way it costs more than $8 per plate. they're out of touch with the locals at that price point. read more
