Updating my review: we took my puppy to the vet to get his nails cut this week (first time since Princeton Grooming). The tech was unable to cut his nails because he was anxious and nipping uncontrollably. She was surprised because she's cut his nails in the past with no issue. She said it was obvious he was traumatized from the last clipping and recommended anti anxiety meds to be able to cut his nails. I can't emphasize enough to avoid this business at all cost, if I could report them for what they did I would. read more

BARRY is amazing! Such a nice man and was really wonderful with helping me with my cats. My long hair CAT was very matted and I needed help to shave her. Barry and I spoke over the phone and realized we could work together as a team. He came to my house with his "tools of the trade" and together we helped my cat get back to feeling happy again. I had to provide the space, the bathing place and the towel. He spent so much water that my Flo monitor shut off the water to the house and he didn't bother to ask me why that had happened. As a result he left the bathtub covered with dog hair. My 22 pound dog is super stoic but I kept hearing the guy yelling at him. He must have been mishandling and hurting him. And his charges were 50% more than what I used to pay at The Grooming Rigg before she shut down. read more

Barry is amazing! This was our first time taking our cockapoo puppy, Milo for his grooming and we were anxious as he had not been groomed in a while and had developed knots everywhere. Barry was great at explaining how he would go about the whole process and that helped calm me down. Barry took his time grooming Milo and went over and beyond making sure Milo was fully taken care of. Milo looked fantastic when Barry brought him out to my car - his hair wasn't cut too short and looked well groomed and clean. The products he used were definitely great as Milo had a nice soft coat and smelled amazing after the blueberry facial :) Barry took care of everything: ears, nails, hygiene, eyes were clean etc. I could tell Barry loves dogs and is very knowledgeable and experienced. I called Princeton Grooming because one of our three cats had quite a bit of matting and needed to be trimmed down. Barry came in, set up and got down to business. The first (aforementioned) cat got a lion cut and nail trimming, the second cat got a good brush down as well as a nail trim, and the third cat got a nail trim. Barry was careful in dealing with the animals and tried his best to make the job fast (anyone with cats will know that they hate being groomed). While the cats didn't really appreciate the grooming (anyone with cats will know), I am happy that their coats were attended to, their nails clipped, and cleaned. The price was fair and the in-home service is convenient, especially if you own more than one pet. I would definitely use his services again. read more

Surprisingly good deal. For the price of a better grooming salon, the owner or his son comes to your house, and you can either leave him alone or watch and chat while he works. So you have far more input into the style of the cut and real-time feedback than at a salon. Plus, this eliminates the possibility of your dog's being traumatized, and it's much more convenient. For the first-time cut of my 75-lb dog, the groomer spent over 3 hours in total, working continuously. Good value for money, and highly recommended. read more

I found Princeton Groomers via Yelp. As a new dog mom to only a 4 pound Yorkie rescue, I was very particular about who could take care of my boy. Barry comes into the home with such a professional, yet friendly manner. He sets up a tarp to protect your floors and has his own groomer's table. I felt comfortable leaving him alone with my dog, as he was so gentle and kind. I could hear him sweetly saying "good boy! you are a nice doggy." Barry provided a lot of consultation, which was so helpful because there were some things about my rescue that he brought to my attention, better prepping me for our first vet visit. Another outstanding aspect to our appointment was that he actually vacuums after, too! There is zero mess left behind. He is also extremely knowledgable about dogs in general, and clearly a dog lover. He left us with his contact card, letting us know to never hesitate to reach out if I had questions or concerns. While I definitely plan to use him again, I appreciated that he wasn't pushy for us to set up our next appointment, which is something I experienced with my other dogs and other groomers.
