Princi has the quick and go side and the sit down restaurant side. If you can get a seat on the pick up side it's nice and food is great as are the cocktails. On the restaurant side I'll say that even though two of the pasta dishes arrived cold and half the table would get their food while the other half waited the food still tasted good. The problem was that it wasn't good enough to overlook the slow and poor service. The waitress was friendly but perhaps they more help or better organization. read more

This latest addition to the vast range of Soho eateries only opened in Oct but is already a bit hit with the ex pat Italians and good food lovers. Their ethos is Spirito di Milano and it shows. From the tasteful understated Italian decor and the fabulous pizza, salads, cakes (made fresh on the premises), salads and the best coffee I have tasted in a long time, it is just wonderful. Princi is a fun place to go for lunch with a group. It gets quite hectic inside during lunch hours, but it's definitely worth it. Lots of options, and great variety to choose from so everyone in the group will be happy. Noise level was a little high but the food makes up for it. We came upon this place for brunch while we visited London. It's cafeteria style, but you can also have sit down service. We sat at a table on a Sunday morning and it was busy, so service was a little slow. I ordered the baked eggs; the tomato sauce with it was really delicious. Worth the wait if you have time. The pizza was similar to what you can get from a kebab shop. The croissant was over-cooked. The only thing I enjoyed there was the tomato mozzarella salad. The stuff is a little bit expensive, too. Usually Yau raises the prices of his restaurants after an introductory period. It's scary to think these prices are going to be even higher in the future. The staff doesn't speak good English and the ones who did, didn't know what a bunch of the dishes were named. Overall, I was very disappointed. read more

I'm a big fan of Princi, though as much for the aesthetics as for the food and drink. It's definitely one of my favorite places to grab a light lunch or a coffee in the West End. I love Princi's concept of a trendy Italian bakery, serving freshly made pastries, antipasti buffet, pizza, coffee and drinks. It's essentially a cafe. You order what you want at the counter, pay and go sit down, no waiter service. As far as I know, the whole concept is a first in London, but I expect it to be mimicked extensively going forward. Everything is beautifully presented, as is the whole restaurant itself, with great use of lighting, glass cases and even a water feature (though I think they've taken this out now). The food itself is great though I've tended to stick to the pastries and pizza and can't comment too much on the salads. Other Yelpers have commented on the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. For central London and for such a popular place, I would have expected Princi to charge more. You can get out of here with a coffee and pastry for under 7 pounds, which I think is reasonable. My only complaint are the crowds. Princi seems to be almost permanently packed, making it difficult to just stop by and find a seat. I would go here much more if I could only get a table! read more

We ate on the canteen side after a ten minute wait to secure seats. I had a slice of margarita pizza and thought that it tasted great -- the amount of cheese was perfect and tomato sauce was very bright. The design of the restaurant is very attractive with lights submerged under running water with their beams shining up the walls. The massive display of pizza, salad, and desserts is impressive and makes selecting just one thing nearly impossible. I doubt I will be back due to the effort of jostling for seats and the steep prices. read more

Came here for breakfast several days and worth a return. Everything from pastries to complete breakfasts, and it was all excellent. Loved yummy tomato & cheese focaccia. Impressed that the tea was brewed loose in pot instead of just hot water and a tea bag. Service was surprisingly pleasant for a place where you order at the counter and they bring your food. Fun ambiance a definite cut above your typical cafe. Wish there was a place like this near my house or office, I'd be there all the time. read more

Terrible. Overpriced, pretentious and awful service. Waited nearly 30 minutes and my poached eggs never came. Americano obviously had dead shots. Couldn't flag a waiter. Finally got a refund and left. Surprised this place has made it on Wardour Street with all the great options available just feet away. read more

I think this place would be good for quick take away lunches, as they have a wide variety of dishes at the counter. But their table service is pretty awful. I live next door and wasn't interested in going far for dinner, so we headed to Princi. It was a Monday night of a bank holiday weekend, so they were packed and everyone looked frazzled. We waited for a few minutes in the line to get our names down and asked how long it would be. The woman said they were very busy, (I can see that, which is why we asked) and said, maybe 25-30 minutes. Well, its a busy night in Soho and half an hour isn't terrible so we bobbed and weaved around the people ordering at the counter and got a half bottle of wine and waited. As for the atmosphere, at first it seems nice and open and very modern, but all the tables are high and so close to each other that squeezing into a seat is a pain even without a tray of food. Anyway, we managed to snag some seat at the wall and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. They send you a text when your table is ready, so it was now 50 minutes since we put our names down, so we went back up and asked to make sure we didn't miss a text or something. The same lady then told us it would be another 15 minutes! OYE! I don't mind waiting an hour for a table, if I am told it will be an hour. She just kept saying how busy they were. Yes, I see your are busy and so you should have over estimated my wait time. We now felt like we had committed to this place, so we stayed and got seated about 15 minutes later. So our 30 minute wait was now over an hour. When we finally got seated they told us that the pizzas were backed up so they would take longer than usual too, so we settled for a couple pasta dishes. Oh, and it took us forever to get a waitress, because she was so busy chatting up the customer next to us. Then as a topper on the cake, my boyfriends pasta was undercooked and mine was literally burned - like black and stuck to the bottom of the dish it was served to me on. I was so hungry at this point I just ate what wasn't stuck to the dish. When then manager came by and asked us how things were we did say something and she offered to bring me something else, but I just couldn't be bothered at this point. I think the manager (or who I assume was the manger) stepped up and took the food off our bill, and because of her good will I'll probably be back - on a quieter night. There has to be something redeeming about this place if they have 4 stars on yelp. read more

Was so delighted that we found this cafe/bakery and so much more. On one side of the building there are many, many hot dishes for take out or eat in...a big variety of fabulous desserts, rolls, pastries, breads...Doesn't get any better than this. Other side of the building is a sit-down restaurant. Appetizers, salads, pizza, calzone, rice, chicken and meat dishes, pastas galore...can't go wrong with whatever you order. Good italian restaurant providing high quality food ranging from croissants, to pizza, tarts , salads, pudding , baked hot foods etc at a great value. Their wine list though is quite small. My favourite is their meaty lasagne and their pizzas made from distinctively north italian bread and covered with rich crescenza cheese and ham. Pizzas cost about 2.50 a slice. Lasagnes start from 6 quid. At princi, you order and collect your food from the counter and then try to find somewhere to sit hence the reason for only 4 stars as the only seating available is one long narrow central table which means that at peak hours its quite difficult to find somewhere to sit and enjoy your meal. read more

I've had a spectacular piece of chocolate torte, good millefoglie, really good asparagus pizza, and consistently great cappuccinos. Popped in for a late night pick-me-up with two Italian ladies, so I am pretty assured this place is 'authentic'. Although I was too full to eat anything, I had a pot of mint tea, which was lovely. The food looked amazing and I will definitely return to try their passionfruit cheesecake. The ambience is good very bright, clean, and modern, although I'm not a big fan of communal tables, being a very private person. The doorman/bouncer was also very good at his job, keeping two drunk troublemakers from our table. I'll give Princi a proper review once I've tried their food. read more

A late night godsend. If I'm even a little bit near Princi at night and someone's hungry, this is always where I bring them. The newly expanded seating area is great, as previously it would be standing room only during busier times. Ordering is simple; get someone's attention across the counter. Not cheap, of course, but it's so so so good it's almost worth it. Chocolate cakes, pastries, mille-feuilles are all fantastic, but don't underestimate the savoury side - it's equally delicious. Their hot chocolate is also just what you want when you're facing a cold walk through Soho afterwards. read more

PRINCI I LOVE YOU!!! Princi was the best dining and service experience I had in London. I wholeheartedly recommend going there. I went multiple times on my visit to London. On your first step inside, you are joyously welcomed by the staff. The food is absolutely delicious, and the servers are all extremely nice. One server complimented me on my outfit -- both hilarious and endearing. My only problem is that the place is really crowded, and due to that -- the lines are long. I didn't mind, except for the fact that you sometimes can't find a spot to sit at! I also had an issue with one of my trips there -- there was a homeless man walking around on the cafeteria side and asking for money. None of the patrons said anything when I, a young girl, was being bombarded for money for near five minutes. As a young female, this was a traumatizing experience. Eventually, I was left alone and told a waiter who immediately resolved the situation. Still weird to think that you can be in a packed room and no one will help you.... read more
