I regret taking my laptop to this guy. I came in because my touchpad was malfunctioning (working on and off). I told him I had factory reset it, updated the drivers, and downloaded any updates. I told him this had to be a hardware issue rather than a software issue, as I am very familiar with software. He charged me $60 for a diagnostic fee and said it was "to take everything apart and see what was going on." I got a call later on that day that my touchpad was working and it was ready for pickup. I asked what he had done to fix the problem and he said they updated the drivers. I reminded him that I had already tried that and that if he gave it some time the touchpad would stop working again. He called me back to say it did indeed stop working, and they will take another look. DAYS later I still hadn't heard from them so I called to see what was going on. They still insisted that the issue was caused by outdated software. I told them again that it was not the software and that I had tried everything they were suggesting, and to please take another look at the hardware. After a week, I called again (they never called once to give me any updates) they said they updated the software and my laptop was ready for pickup. I knew this was not going to solve the issue, as I told them from the moment I dropped it off. I asked if he had checked the hardware and he told me it was possibly a malfunction with the touchpad's mother board, but that he didn't bother to check "the back side of it" to be sure. What in the world did a pay the $60 diagnostic fee if you weren't going to "take everything apart and find out what was going on" as he said he was going to do?? He tried to collect an additional $125 for "the time he had spent on the laptop." I refused to pay this. I brought my laptop home and sure enough the touchpad stopped working within an hour. This guy held on to my laptop for a week, didn't do a thorough diagnostic, handed me back my broken laptop, and wanted me to pay a total of almost $200. What a joke. read more

Apparently I had a different experience than most with Priority. I had an external hard drive that was clicking. I brought it to them and agreed to the $50 diagnostic fee. They called and said it was a mechanical failure and they could not recover the data and referred me to another place. As I was paying the fee, I asked what they did to diagnose the drive. Matt told me he plugged it in, heard the clicking and knew it was a mechanical failure. I told them the drive was clicking. Even though I did agree to the diagnostic fee, I think it was a little disingenuous to charge me the fee for simply plugging in the drive. That really isn't "diagnostic" Live and learn. read more

Well when I came in to work today and turned on my computer it decided not cooperate with me. I wasn't able to access anything because our disk space was full I did the usual deleting but still nothing so I called our good friends over at Priority Tech. Jason was an hour late on our first meeting. He switched out the hard drive in my computer and cleaned up a laptop, but could not return them on the date he estimated. Then, after his work, my computer screen was dark and he had to come back to fix that. I was still somewhat satisfied with his services at this point... he's friendly and seems knowledgeable. I would have given him about three stars. I still would have used him again. However, I a few days later my computer froze up-- probably due to the new hard drive--and he never returned my call. First thing I've typed since returning home from getting my computer upgraded by Priority Technology Solutions. As a home-based graphics professional, I need to have my rig as "up-to-date" as possible. I recently took on a long-distance freelance gig, requiring a program my video card and power supply wouldn't be able to handle. My Macbook Pro stopped working on me. When I took it to the Apple Store, they confirmed my greatest fear and told me that my hard drive had crashed. I had not backed up my data for some time and thought I'd lose hundreds of hours of work. The Apple Store tried to send me to Drivesavers, who cost an arm and a leg, so I looked up someone local and found Priority Technology Solutions. They were able to get all of my data for an extremely reasonable deal. They also offered to order a new hard drive and replace the dead one with it, while giving me a packaged deal. After going through all of that trouble, they discovered the problem was more in depth than the Apple Store had initially diagnosed, and did not charge me for any of the additional labor they had performed.
