Very disappointed in my most recent experience with spectrum. I went there to try and look at what I can do in order to lower my bill and was presented with the only option of adding a "phantom mobile line" in order to lock in some promotional rates (keep in mind I only have TV and Internet with spectrum). Which I would then have to come back and cancel that line in 4 months in order to avoid any additional fees on the line itself. Seems like a very shady business practice for people that have been loyal to spectrum for years to jump through hoops. The representative whose name starts with a "D" and has already seen mentioned on multiple reviews was not empathetic at all and basically told me "if saving $600 a year wasn't important then she couldn't help me". After that she proceeded to tell me I can try to call customer service to see if they could offer anything. Aren't the people who work at this establishment supposed to help their customer, why even bother coming in if you're just going to try and sell me on something I don't need and not address what I'm asking? Overall left a really bad taste in my mouth and definitely looking at my options outside of spectrum specifically because of the horrible interaction with this staff member. read more

Maintaining internet goes down once or twice a month very undependable. If you work from home and need service AT&T is much more dependable.

Two years ago I switched from frontier Internet to spectrum. At the time of the change the representative that I talked with told me that it would never go above $60 for my service. Two years later I called to complain about $40 per month increase over that original charge and was told that it was automatic after two years and there will be another charge increase after one more year and I am now paying 66% over the original promised charge. I asked the representative that I spoke to this morning if there was not anything that could be done to keep me as a customer and basically he did not seem to care. I had no trouble with the Internet service just trouble with the company keeping their promises of their representatives. read more

I'm extremely concerned about a recent experience with Spectrum. A person who is NOT an authorized user on my account went into this Spectrum location asking why my Wi-Fi was not working. After I had changed my Wi-Fi password, Spectrum staff allegedly informed this person that the password had been changed. This individual has never been listed on my account, does not pay the bill, and has no authorization to receive information about my services or account activity. Even if the employee did not provide the actual password, confirming account-related changes to someone who is not authorized is deeply concerning and made me feel that my privacy and account security were not being properly protected. Customers should be able to trust that account information and service changes will only be discussed with verified account holders or approved users. I hope Spectrum takes customer authentication and privacy more seriously moving forward and better trains employees on handling unauthorized inquiries. read more

I was a customer of spectrum for many years and I just ended my service in early August and turned in the equipment to this location for my Internet services on August 21. AfterI turned in the equipment I received a receipt from the customer service representative, informing me that the equipment had been returned in good standing. It is now August 31 and I just received a charge on my credit card for a full month of spectrum Internet service. Additionally they increased my rate from $120 a month to $130 a month and after a lengthy calls with customer service, I was informed that because I was on a monthly subscription I had to pay $130 even though no service was provided and that the monthly charge would be from August 12 to September 12 so essentially I'm paying for three weeks for spectrum service with no service being provided in my opinion is nothing short than extortion and theft. Do not ever deal with spectrum I will never deal with them ever again. They are a bunch of con artist they're deceitful and they steal from you. If there's any other Internet alternatives, I would strongly suggest you use that but do not work with these people horrible.! read more

Now I know why people are cutting ties with cable. It's a total joke. I received a postcard from Spectrum re: a loyalty discount if I scheduled an appointment within a specific week to review our account plan. I did exactly that--drove to the Santa Clarita store, waited to meet with a "specialist," and was told there was nothing he could do to lower my bill. In fact, he said my rate would actually increase if he made any changes. When I said this was a complete waste of time, he had no response at all. He also asked about our cell service, clearly steering the conversation toward bundling. I explained that Verizon--their underlying provider--doesn't even work in the Santa Clarita Valley, and that we had no interest in bundling anything beyond Internet and cable. That's when the tone shifted, and it became obvious this so-called loyalty appointment was never about helping customers save--it was a classic bait-and-switch designed to upsell more services. Spectrum lured me in under false pretenses, wasted my time, and offered zero help. After this experience, I'll be looking for a new provider--just like so many others already have. Was talked into streaming Spectrum over te conventional cable box and to switch to there WiFi. Was told service would be better, less outages. Not true. By switching over I lost a few channels I used to watch. DVR is gone and no have to stream shows after airing and can't fast forward through commercials and outages are just as frequent. Their commercial about their WiFi still working after a power outage seems to be a farce when WiFi goes out during Spectrum outages. After the outage, which seem to last several hours, all the smart items in the house need to be reconnected. Glad I kept my Verizon WiFi. read more

People don't do business with spectrum. They are not for customers. They are just for themselves even if you cancel your service two days after your billing cycle, they will charge you for the whole month and they were charging me over $100 for Internet service and when I canceled they sent to my checking account a bill for over $130 claiming that you pay for the whole month and their supervisor Melissa said well you're not our customer why should I even consider you and that's where their head is so do not do business with them. For the first three months, my internet connection was perfectly stable. But over the last three months, it has become the worst connection I've ever experienced. Every 30-60 minutes, my ping suddenly spikes, and packets start being sent with massive delays -- sometimes up to 1000 ms. What's even more frustrating is that the connection doesn't recover on its own: until I reboot the router, the latency stays around 200-300 ms. This happens every single day, whenever I try to use the internet. I don't understand why it used to work fine and now it's like this. The nice associate who helped us was very quick and efficient with swapping out our modem and routers. The only reason a star is knocked off is because of the manager who was quite obviously a micromanager. The woman who was helping us obviously knew what she was doing and everything went seamlessly, but the manager came over and watched over her shoulder without speaking a word to me, my husband, or the employee and added nothing to the transaction but unease. I went into the store with a death certificate in hand for the owner who passed away. The gentleman I dealt with was beyond helpful, he started off by offering condolences for the loss of my family member and showed me the most affordable plan for our situation. He collected the old equipment I brought and quickly handled the transition of the account to my contact information and had the new plan in affect by the time I left the store. i went in on monday to add a mobile plan to my existing account and the person who helped me, Wendy, is probably the best person you're able to get there. She took the time to answer whatever questions I had, transfer 5 phone numbers from ATT to Spectrum, AND went through the trouble of going over my internet and TV plan and made sure I was getting the best deals on both and that I was only paying for exactly what I needed. She did all of this while making sure I didn't feel rushed considering I came in about 2 hours before they were closing. read more

This review is more about the phone customer service. Their internet service was okay. When you call to close your account, they route you to basically their sales team and keep you on the phone for an HOUR trying to upsell or side-sell you to one of their other products. I said i was ill and losing my voice but that didn't matter, they've got a sales quota and won't close your account until you buy one of their other products. Seriously? Keep me on hold for 30 minutes then another 30 minutes searching for products to sell me?? Not even kidding - he tried to sell like 5 other products to me. Screw you, Spectrum. The service can be a little slow, but overall I had a positive experience here. They have a nice lounge/waiting area and a screen that shows the line. Pro tip: be sure to check in at the kiosk that is located to the right of the entrance. It was a little tricky to navigate and no one directed or helped; just had to figure it out on my own. The rep was helpful, and they do their best to make it a quick and efficient experience. This location is definitely better than the one is Van Nuys: that one is always busy, no chairs/waiting area and a pain with long wait times. I will definitely be back. read more

I've never had a problem with the service here, whether exchanging a cable box or to pick up a new remote. This past visit was to inquire about their mobile plan. We entered the store and signed in, only to be greeted by a medley from both a "Karen" and a "Kevin". They seemed to be dissatisfied with their wait time, loud mouthing the 2 lone black gentlemen behind the desk. On previous visits, I've counted as many as 4 and 5 representatives, so maybe others were at lunch or on break? But I guess these 2 should be doing the work of an entire staff "Karen" & "Kevin"? And sure enough, others started gradually returning behind the desk from wherever they'd been breaking. "Kevin" had already left after "waiting for 20 minutes" he grumbled before making his exit. "Karen's" name was soon called right after. We we're up maybe 10 minutes later. Okay, so I'm considering an upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. And no, I don't need to see the iPhone 14 when it arrives, possibly next month. My poor iPhone 8 has seen better days. One of the loudly criticized reps was our helper. Very knowledgeable about various plans they offer. And informing us that their mobile coverage is actually piggybacked on Verizon's. That was an eye opener; not necessarily good/not necessarily bad. I didn't care much for my Verizon coverage in the past. But that was years ago. We thanked him and made our way out. NOTE TO SCV RESIDENTS WHO ARE THINKING ABOUT GETTING SPECTRUM.... It's almost impossible to cancel service over the phone. The rep's make it an extremely lengthy and excruciating process. I had to argue with 2 reps and tell them they were manipulative with their reverse psychology or pinning the blame on the customer for their lackluster service... I waited for Spectrum to call me back for 30 minutes to cancel my service. Once They called me back, a "specialist" was on the line. I had already called before to downgrade from "Ultimate" internet to regular because my bill went up to $100 a month. When I downgraded it went to $80. I was already having issues with my internet service before I downgraded, such as having spotty internet while on Zoom calls. I also couldn't really stream on multiple devices, we had to consistently have people shut off wifi connections on their devices to be able to use the wifi. The specialist refused to cancel my service saying that only spoke to new customer sales and not "specialists" like himself. So comical, because I've called Spectrum multiple times about my options. Nonetheless this "specialist" kept talking over me and kept saying "we are the number one recommended service of your location", and would also through it back at me saying "when is the last time you called to get your equipment upgraded." Such a scam to try and put it back on the customer. He transferred me over to another line once we kept talking over each other and I said all I wanted was to cancel service, only to be placed on a long hold. I literally just had the technician leave to set up my service and the Internet is down and there is a problem. I now have a second technician who will be here sometime tonight. Wow. This place... My spectrum box stopped working today. After talking to a tech guy online he told me to take it to a store and get it replaced. This sorry place is my local store. I duly drive down there and walk in. As soon as I enter, some big guy who works there bellows at me from the counter. This is how the conversation went: Spectrum guy: (shouting) EXCHANGE?!?! Me: ( Off guard) What? Spectrum guy: (still shouting) ARE YOU HERE FOR AN EXCHANGE?! Me: um, yes... Spectrum guy: WE'RE OUT! Me: what do you mean? I'm closer to him now, so he stops shouting at me but is still belligerent and aggressive. Spectrum guy: we're OUT! No units! Me. Uh ok. When will you get more? Spectrum guy: ( irritated) I don't know, sometime, maybe tomorrow. Me: Is there another store I can't try, I need my service, I work from home. Spec guy: ( Sighs heavily.) San fernando, and porter ranch. Me: Do u have the address of the one in San fernando? Spec man is exasperated and starts waving his arms around. Spec Guy: No! Go look it up on Google. Me: well can u call them and see if they have any in stock before I drive all the way there? Spec Guy: No. At this point, I give up, turn and walk out, tired of dealing with this rude, unhelpful asshat. From my car, I call the store in san Fernando, but of course you can't, it goes to Spectrum central who tell me I can't call the store directly and (rather stupidly,) aparently neither can they... So 30 minutes later, muttering and cursing under my breath like a nutcase, I arrive in San fernando and I am greeted politely and helped immediately by Fabian, who sorts my issue out in about 3 minutes, and who also is polite, friendly and treats me like he actually likes helping people. I drove home happy that at least one person at spectrum gives a. S**t about their customers. On the way I call spectrum, to make a complaint about the guy at this store, and a compliment for Fabian. Spectrum tells me there's no way to do either except go back to the stores and speak to the manager directly. Anyone remember when the USA was seen as the pinnacle of customer service? Verizon, AT&T, please come to Santa clarita and break Spectrum's monopoly. Deserved ZERO stars. Thirty year customer of Comcast, Time Warner and unfortunately now Spectrum. Had to return a cable box today at our local Spectrum store on Carl Boyer Drive. Waited in line for over 30 minutes and was then told I needed to sign in. Told the rep I'm sorry, been here multiple times before any never had to sign in. Must be new? Anyway, he didn't seem to care and told me there were many people waiting who signed in. Immediately called Spectrum to complain. I talked with a rep named Raj. He was very helpful in listening and supportive. He filled out a report to upper management. I'm waiting for a call back. Raj apologized for the lack of customer service and and informed me I can drop off the box at any UPS location. I went to the one on Golden Valley and received my receipt in under a minute. What I learned today: . Some people should not be in customer service. The rep in the store was rude, insensitive to a customer need's and handled the situation poorly. The rep on the phone, Raj, handed the call correctly. Listening to the customer, helping with a complaint, forwarding complaint to upper management and providing alternatives like the UPS store. Might even be saving a long time Spectrum customer. If you decide to go to the store , remember to sign in first and avoid a frustrating day. read more

I called to have my service changed to just the Internet since I hardly watch regular tv and they are charging me $150 bucks. Only $47 bucks of that is internet. I called and got a screener. Once she found out I was trying to downgrade, she switched me to another dept and I have been on hold ever since! The they tried to get me to keep a portion of cable. When that didn't work they tried to sell me their cell service even after I told them I had been laid off. Anyway, I was on the phone 25 minutes with Martha. I got the feeling she was just trying to up the price. From 47 to 75.. When I asked her why ...she was telling me something about upgrade equipment! I had already told her that I had my own router/ modem. So upgraded equipment didn't affect me. When all was said an done . 2 hours and 9 minutes later I'm paying for internet with 100-200 speed so she says, and really didn't explain the wide range well. Anyway, now to see how the internet will be working. I hope to hit heaven I do not have to call them again for any reason. I got my 84 year old mom a flip phone because it was easier for her to use. At the end of the first week I had to return to spectrum and they gave me a new battery. A couple weeks after that, the phone stopped working in certain areas so again I went back. I was told that there was nothing they could do because it had been 28 days since we bought it. Wow. Really. The phone never worked and now my elderly mom needs to pay $100 for the darn phone. Very disappointed in the service i received at this location as well. I'd like to add my voice to the many others that speak to terrible service at this location. I received specific instructions from Spectrum customers service on the phone to pick up a router. I should say they were very helpful. I won't go into the specific details as my issue is really with the attitude and lack of professionalism. When I arrived at the location the desk agent was extremely rude and unprofessional and essentially told me he didn't care what I'd been previously told. I asked to speak to the manager, Paul who was just as unhelpful and unprofessional. I called customer support from my car and they thoughtfully apologized for the behavior of the onsite staff. They credited my account and did several other make goods. So remote support was great and onsite support was terrible. I filed a formal complaint against both the desk agent and manager. read more

Senior citizen here, I missed calling Spectrum by 3 days about any promotions and they were unrelenting, could care less. Bill is going up $62 a month so $744 for this next year. Customer unservice person basically said she could do nothing except lower the bill by getting basic TV. We HAVE basic TV already! So we're screwed. Worst customer service ever. And forget going to the Spectrum store on Carl Boyer Drive. I was there in June 2022 and there was a room full of customers. I had an appointment and so was called up to the counter and some man came up behind me and smacked me on my back saying I cut in front of him. Really? I had a freakin' appointment and told him so.
