Salesman Dylan is new to the profession, but he is honest and has the drive to succeed. His integrity stems from previous military service. I believe Toyota buyers bank on brand reliability. Thus, the decision regarding where to purchase is related to variables that don't all have tangible metrics. Price points between dealerships won't vary too much in a geographic area. Consider what business model they use for sales? How customer oriented are their policies (e.g., state inspections, oil changes, detailing, etc.) Priority Toyota is worth my time and money. He kept me in the loop the whole time with updates on status and when everything would be done. Over the phone, he broke down all the findings in a way that was easy to understand--what it meant, what needed attention, and what the costs would look like. I took my car in for an appointment for a 10K oil change and tire rotation at 11:30. The service advisor insisted that Toyota requires an engine flush at 10K miles. I had just left my purse (and phone) in the car and she kept insisting that I must get this done. I told her IF it's required service, I guess I have to do it. She told me it would be about 1-1.5 hours. I then found my car and got my purse and started checking for required maintenance. Nowhere in the handbook or on the website did Toyota state that an engine flush was required service. I tried to reach my adviser who was nowhere to be found. After 2.5 hours, I went to find my advisor. Unable to do so, I found someone who was willing to stop his conversation long enough to tell me it was in the service bay but hadn't been assigned anyone yet. I called Toyota about the engine flush. They said it's not a required service. They attempted to reach the service department and were unable to. After almost 5 hours, my car was ready. 5 hours! And they didn't even do the tire rotation because the service adviser said I didn't need one! She never even saw my car. Tire rotation is required. I was charged for an unnecessary service, couldn't reach the Service Manager and wasted my day at Priority. I followed up with a letter to the Service manager - no reply. I followed up with a letter to the President - no reply. Customer service at the Priority Service Department is horrible. Even worse, the Service manager and the President/CEO of Priority couldn't care less. read more

From the moment I arrived, the process was smooth, professional, and transparent. Destiny was absolutely amazing. She clearly explained what was needed now, what could wait, and what I should anticipate in the near future. There was no pressure -- just clear communication and excellent customer care. She kept me informed from the moment I stepped out of my vehicle until the time I drove off after service, which I truly appreciated. This is not the "old" Priority Service experience. Met with sales rep David Mendez on 05/21/26 and siged an agreement to purchase a new 2026 Tundra Hybrid 1794 edition. I gave the dealship a downpayment of a thousand dollars to secure the truck as it was in transit. This was my second visit to the dealship as I had gotten a better price from another dealer and asked ithey would match it, as I have purchased three other vehicles from Priority dealerships in the recent past. The sales manager Nicholaus was the manager that approved the purchase. Today I received a call that Priority would not honor the agreement as Toyota had change their rebate to the dealership. Priority expected me to absorbe their loss. The sales rep was in a meeting and kept texting me about the great deal I was getting. I drove to the dealership and was met by a VP who took my paperwork to a senior sales manager named David. He insulted me and said I didn't understand what a rebate was. I explained that I didn't care about the rebate as I had an agreed price and had made a deposit and wanted the truck. After refusing to honor the deal, I asked for my check back. He didn't have it and said it would take 5-7 days to get one issued and mailed to me. Be warned don't do business with these guys as their word means nothing. read more

He patiently showed me any and every vehicle I wanted to see, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and never made me feel rushed or pressured throughout the process. What truly stood out was his professionalism paired with genuine kindness. He was not only attentive to me as a customer, but also incredibly kind and respectful to my young adult son who was with me. That meant a great deal to me and speaks volumes about his character. Car Buying Experience Was Unacceptable From Start to Finish: I have purchased many vehicles over the years, and this was by far the worst dealership experience I have ever had, from the initial purchase process, to vehicle delivery, to ongoing communication failures, and now the inability to properly process permanent tags and registration. Sales Process: The sales representative was simultaneously working with multiple customers at the same time, causing the purchase process to drag on for hours with excessive waiting, confusion, and no clear communication about where we were in the process, despite having scheduled our appointment in advance. On several occasions, I had to physically locate the salesperson just to determine why nothing was happening or what the next step was supposed to be. Vehicle Delivery Failures: Even after the unusually long purchase process, the vehicle was not ready by the end of the day. We were required to keep the trade-in vehicle, yet Priority still demanded proof of insurance on the new vehicle before paperwork could be completed or before we were even allowed to meet with the finance manager. Delivery was delayed an additional two full days due to the need for tires, which was identified during inspection. Communication throughout this period was poor to nonexistent, with repeated assurances of "a few hours," "later today," or "later this afternoon" that were never honored. The vehicle was ultimately not delivered until the third day. Communication Issues: Contacting the dealership by phone is extremely difficult. Calls frequently disconnect after selecting a menu option, particularly when choosing Sales. When someone does answer, the response is almost always, "I'll leave a message and have them call you back," calls that never happen. Managers repeatedly state they will "look into it and call back," and then fail to follow through. Tag & Registration Failure (Most Serious Issue): Unfortunately, the problems did not stop after delivery. Despite explicit instructions on the bill of sale to TRANSFER existing North Carolina tags, Priority incorrectly requested new tags instead. As a direct result of this error, we received a DMV delinquency notice for failing to turn in old tags, an issue entirely caused by Priority's mistake. Now, nearly 45 days later, we are still being given the runaround regarding where the permanent tags are and when they will be issued. Multiple managers have promised callbacks that never occur. Voicemails go unanswered. We are repeatedly sent to voicemail and told someone will call back "in a few minutes," which does not happen. After calling repeatedly for over an hour and repeatedly requesting a manager, we finally received a return call only to be told, "Sorry, we have been busy." It appears the dealership is only attentive while closing a deal and then becomes unavailable when it is time to complete the remaining responsibilities. We have now been told multiple times that nothing can be done because the titling department was "closed," with no follow-up the next day as promised. This has occurred at least three separate times. We are also being told the issue is the responsibility of the titling department, which Priority claims does not work directly for them. That is not the customer's problem. Accountability: We purchased the vehicle from Priority, paid a $999 processing fee, and Priority is responsible for ensuring that the title and permanent tags are processed correctly and in a timely manner. Passing blame internally does not absolve the dealership of its responsibility to the customer. Bottom Line: This experience demonstrates systemic failures in staffing, communication, accountability, and follow-through. At this point, we are simply asking Priority to do what they were paid to do: correctly process the title and issue permanent tags without further delay. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Priority to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle. read more

I brought my truck in for a repair that was out of my wheelhouse. I wanted the assurance that it would be done right and with oem parts by going to the dealer. I had the pleasure of working with RoSean. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and gave me reassurance without hesitation. Their online tracker is amazing, yet RoSean took it a step further by visiting my vehicle in the tech's bay to call me and talk me through an unforeseen event (of my own doing haha, sorry y'all). I also want to highlight Priority Toyota Chesapeake's parts department for having what I need time and time again. Especially today in order for my vehicle to be serviced same day. If I were to knock anything about my experience, it would be the person who answered the phone after hours. They gave me the impression the department was open, took down all of my information and promised I'd receive a call back. Call never came, but I brought the truck in anyways considering it could've been a serious problem without immediate attention. As I'm being checked in, I find out I was never entered into their system.. where'd my information go?? The car was listed for $9000 As I started it up the check engine light came on and stayed on showing maintenance was needed. I told the salesman that the car was undriveable. Where do I start. I only gave them 1 star because Yelp will not let you rate any lower. I made the mistake of buying a car here..I got suckered in by the "priority for life" pitch. My buying experience was terrible and took forever. The salesperson was nice enough, but to actually close the deal was a 2 and 1/2 hour slog through hell. Only after I signed all the paperwork, did they tell me I was only going to receive one key to the car, no warning, nothing. They know it's going to be such bad news, that they bring someone else in just to deliver it, of course only after the "deal was done." I should have known then, I should have walked away. I then brought my car in for service because "priority for life", right? I went in for an oil change. I made an appointment and took it in a little early to make sure I did my part to help keep them on schedule. After two hours, they still hadn't touched the vehicle. Their excuse was it was an exceptionally busy day. Fair enough, but that's why we make appointments. The service manager ended up giving me a rental car and they were going to address a recall issue. I am now going on my third week waiting on the car. When calling to check on the status of the vehicle, it's next to impossible to talk to an actual person. I have left messages for the management and they don't return calls, which demonstrates how they feel about their customers. What a crappy dealership. My son made a 0730 appt for his 50k maint check (multi-point inspection; "free" oil change. Well I show up at 0700; service writer says that all techs in a meeting until 0800. So why did they offer a 0730 appt? Also, the "free" oil change is a bait-and-switch. Told that they don't do "free" oil change until 10k or 1-year. Then they say it needs tire rotation; that's $75. So 2.75 hours later I'm still sitting here. Do NOT use Priority Toyota in Chesapeake, VA. Go someplace else. Update: 3.5 hours and it's still not done. Priority Toyota blows; it's not good enough to suck. If I could give zero stars I would. Recently purchased a used vehicle from their lot on July 12th after spending 6 hours in this stealership. This car was brought in on trade. Struck a deal but I wanted a few things corrected on the car. Signed the papers and was planning on picking up in a few days. Recieved a phone call that the issues with the car were essentially too expensive to fix on their dime. Instead of correcting this issues with the car, they ended up calling off the deal and giving me my money back. They are so focused on moving cars they didn't care to find out what they are selling is safe and reliable. This place is a joke. I communicated with a woman last night that works there about going and looking at a vehicle today (Sunday). I let them know that I would be driving from Richmond (2 hour drive). I spoke with her this morning and she said that she would have a vehicle ready for me to test drive I showed up and nobody was ready at all. The vehicle hadn't even been inspected yet and they couldn't find the keys or get a hold of them. If I knew the vehicle hadn't been inspected yet, and they couldn't even find the freaking keys, I would've never driven two hours and wasted my time to come look at this vehicle. I was ready to purchase this vehicle today and they seem to care less. I didn't even get a chance to test drive it and even if I did it wouldn't have been ready to take home today. DO NOT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLES AT THIS DEALERSHIP! As a former member of the automotive industry who has worked in both service and sales, I can't speak for the sales side of this business, but service is awful. I made an appointment for 8:30am this morning and am now rearranging my entire day because I didn't think I'd still be waiting for my truck until noon... I could've purchased the materials and done the job myself. But alas, perhaps it's the state inspection I asked for... it gets better. Service advisors have to actually pick up the phone and call their customers to authorize repairs, or in my case, get up from their desk and walk to the waiting area where I've been sitting all morning-- and your car sits in limbo until they attempt to upsell you on whatever crap your probably don't need-- so, at 11:30 after hearing nothing from my advisor, who is the 'assistant service manager', I went back there to check on progress. I already knew there was about a 99% likelihood my truck was sitting in limbo, but I like to give people the chance to do their jobs. Lo-and-behold, 'so there's some notes from the tech, blah blah, I'll tell him you're in a hurry'-- she didn't call me and put this on the back burner, which you do to drop-offs, not to people sitting in your waiting room. Again, I know the tricks of the trade. All she had to do was walk about twenty-five feet to the waiting area, ask me if I wanted the fog lights to pass, push the brake flush I don't need, approve a line on Reynolds and send me on my way! Can't find the customer or feeling a bit lazy? Call them or text them, every dealer under the sun has those capabilities in 2023. If it sounds like basic operations, it is. I have probably been sitting in this waiting room for hours due to that conversation not happening, which is a fault of the advisor and the service department, not the customer. What really got me was the 'I'll let the tech know you're in a hurry'. When I was writing service, I would've never uttered that statement to a customer who had been sitting in my waiting room for an oil change and inspection for 3.5 hours. Thank you Jesus for keeping me from causing a scene. If I was in a hurry, you'd have known about it around 10, 1.5 hours into this appointment when I roughly estimated the truck would be done. Also, your porters snapping pictures of people's vehicles for initial inspections and asking people to sign off of them without reviewing anything is a dishonest business practice. Customers should accompany the initial inspector around their vehicle and be fully involved in that process. 'Hey sign this' with no explanation as to what it is, why, or who this kid is or why he matters, shows your service department doesn't bother to explain operations to entry-level employees. Well, I'm still waiting... EDIT: GOT MY VEHICLE AFTER DEMANDING IT AT 12:15! With a missing hubcap! This entire experience was unsatisfactory. Back to this dealership for the parts replacement that they did not have and which had to be ordered at my last visit. However, they ordered the wrong part! Now I have to come back yet again. Maybe they will get it right the next time. One can only hope. Another day burnt due to this dealership. Thank goodness for Ray Korchak, my service manager. Got a text to review recommendations. Link indicated part was $43.39, a charge of $305.56 for "MISC" and another $655.24 for "MISC". Ray was able to clarify, but part was wrong (again) and actually cost about $50 more than what was stated and today will cost me $655.24 to replace tire pressure sensors (3). And that still doesn't cover the cost of the gasket that I came to have replaced and will have to schedule another appointment to have done. Seriously, need to look for another dealership because this one has serious issues. Don't even get me started on going through their automated phone system! read more

I requested an appointment for 07/12/2025 at 0830, but they scheduled me for today, which is 07/19/2025; that's strike one. I came today at 0805 so I can be seen and served at 0830. It was 0840 and still was in line waiting for one of the employees to get my vehicle information. I approached one if the employees at the service bay (tall African American) I expressed my concern it was past my scheduled appointment and nobody had assisted me. His reply was "it's ok just way in your car" No it's no Effing OK. Then when i finally met with one of the assistant managers I explained once again and I said what the point of having an appointment if you are going to see customers whenever Toyota Priority wants to. Her reply was "the fact that you have an appointment does not mean that will be seen at the time" I might concede partially. Then she goes on saying "it's like when you go to the doctor they don't see you right away" ok they might not see you right away but they check you in at the time it was scheduled. Ya'll need to train your employees on time management, customer service and your policies. Toyota offer great vehicles but the service and answers provided by its employees it's way below standard. I am in a market for another vehicle but definitely will not shop there again. I bought the car brand new back in December 2024 and soon after that the bumper started to come undone. I've been coming to this location to get my car serviced for a year now and I cannot be more than happy each time. The service agents are informative and communicative, not one issue. They do get very busy but they do offer shuttle services if needed. I enjoy the little food area too. The food and coffee are pretty decent. They have a ltheater room where you can watch a movie while you wait. This location deserves better reviews. I highly recommend getting all your car services here. read more

I recently bought a used Toyota Camry. My salesman was Daniel Dykes who did a wonderful job. He was very helpful and kind to me and my son. My one start review is because of the financing part of my sale. I was told by the finance manager Geoffrey Smith that I could get a better interest rate with Driveway Financial Corp. I told him I had never heard of them and he said they were a good company to deal with. I took him on his word and my son and I signed for a loan with them. I looked the company up a week later when I was trying to register with them on their website and was not able to. They have an F rating on the BBB website. They are not accredited and have over 100 complaints. There is horrible reviews for this company everywhere I looked. I called Geoffrey to let him know that the company has horrible reviews and an F on the BBB site. He said he was unaware of this. How do you recommend a company to your clients that you have not checked out. It's horrible. Now I have to try to get in touch with someone from this company to get a payoff and get a loan through my bank. I have called Driveway Financial multiple times only to be on hold for 30 to 40 minutes with no answer. I ended up hanging up and trying again and again. After leaving priority Toyota the first time with a bad taste in our mouths and looking to shop elsewhere, it seemed that they wanted to win back our business. The GSM wanted to make things right and our Rock, Paper, Scissors nemesis, Josh reached out and my husband and I wanted to hear what they had to offer. This second visit was a complete different level of respect and experience that we hoped we would have gotten the first time around. Josh and his GSM made sure that we got the best deal and took care of us for our Grand Highlander Hybrid. We always want people to give us second chances, so we are more pleased and happy that we gave Priority Toyota a second one. Josh, again, was still awesome and amazing. We appreciated working with him and we definitely appreciate the comfort he gave us while working everything out in our favor. We also very highly appreciate, and thank Priority Toyota for getting rid of that market price adjustment and making sure our family got the vehicle we made at a great and fair price.
